Physical Bodies on Earth
We are on this earth in bodies because our souls have things to learn that we could not learn in any other way.

We are on this earth, in our physical bodies, because our souls have things to learn that we could not learn in any other way. It is through our physical body and the physical world that we can experience life. Purely spiritual beings are just that â€" they are in a state of being rather than doing â€" in a place that is beyond the limitations of time and space. But when we incarnate on the physical plane, we are automatically subject to the laws of physics and the world of dualities. In this place, we know what happiness is because we have experienced sadness, and we understand the value and power of light because we have known darkness. Knowing this, we have the opportunity to let ourselves be spiritual beings having a physical experience.

There is no pain in the spiritual realm, because we know we are one with the limitless source of the universe. But here, in the material realm, our sense of limitation and separation allows us to feel our emotions and to learn about love, forgiveness, and compassion. We go from a spiritual state of oneness to learning how to be in relationship with people who are different and distinct individuals. We learn to understand ourselves through our relationships with the world around usâ€"its seasons and landscapes, challenges and opportunities. And through our journey to find our place among so many others, we begin to recognize our own glimmer of light in a constellation of stars.

Once we remember that we are spiritual beings, we can revel in the experience of being human while knowing we are all connected. We can live from the place of oneness while truly appreciating the beauty of diversity, the bittersweet feel of love and loss, and the elation of triumph over challenges and adversity. It is through these opposites that we experience life itself, and we can ride through the dark times with the understanding that it will help us to appreciate the light of life and love and spirit more fully. We are here now because we made the choice to experience an earth life, so now we can choose to enjoy the journey as completely as possible.

Beginning of Spring Spell

Imbolc is the Celtic holiday that marks the beginning of spring. It is ruled by the Goddess of spring, known as Brigit or Brigantia in Ireland, and Bride in
Scotland. In Irish myth, the god of the earth Dagda, also known as the
â€œgood god,â€ had three daughters, who were all named Brigit. The first
Brigit was the goddess of poetry, the second was the goddess of
smithcraft, and the third was the goddess of fire and healing. All three are really aspects of one triple goddess who was associated with the
Sun and with fire. On this day Brigit used her flame to rekindle the
fire in the earth and assure that plants would have the heat that they
need to break through the earth and begin to grow. In ancient times, a
woman dressed as Brigit would bless the fires in the households and
forges across Ireland. On this day, Brigitâ€™s snake would come out of its mound, and the snakeâ€™s behavior would determine how long the remaining
frost will last. This is the most likely origin of Groundhog Day. In
Christian times, Brigit became a saint associated with the Virgin Mary.
Imbolc became the Christian Candlemas, the Feast of the Purification of
the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is celebrated by lighting candles. A
Brigitâ€™s cross is a talisman made of woven reeds that form a cross with a woven square in the center and four equal arms extending out from the
center. This design gives the cross a sense of rotation that evokes the
wheel of the year. Brigitâ€™s cross should be made or bought on this day
and used to protect the home throughout the year. Also on this night one can leave a silk ribbon on the doorstep for Brigit to bless. Later it
can be used for healing.

Dream Tending Spell

This is a truly special day for Wiccans and some Witches. It is Imbolc, a
high holiday that honors the triple goddess Brigit and one of the eight
sabbats that mark the turning of the wheel of the year. Ground-hog day
is also observed today. This holiday incorporates the seasonal
divination of the more ancient Imbolc, which uses the movement of a
snake rather than the shadow of a ground-hog to divine how much longer
winter will remain. It is the beginning of the Storm Moon and also the
time of the Feast of Oya, the orisha of weather and changes. To the
Iroquois people, it is Midwinter Ceremony, a time to bless the fields,
tell your dreams, and pay tribute to your ancestors. Today is also the
birthday of Marie Laveau II, New Orleansâ€™ Voodoo Queen and diviner
extraordinaire. At bedtime now, light a braid of sweet grass. Extinguish the flame but allow the braid to smolder. Wave the braid lovingly and
with great care around your bedroom, motioning with your hand to
encourage the smoke to drift in a snake-like stream over your bed and
pillow. Dip the braid in springwater, making absolutely sure no flame
remains. Then put the braid away. Pour lavender water in a large bowl.
Put your favorite seashell inside the bowl of water. As you sleep, the
bowl will act as a conduit for messages from the ancestors, nature
spirits, and the great beyond. Place this under your bed or on your bed
table. Replenish the water as needed over a period of two weeks. Write
down your dreams in a journal. Read over them frequently. Messages
revealed in the darkness of winter have special meaning. Work each day
to lift the shroud of darkness so you can glimpse new growth and the
coming light of spring. Understanding the mysteries of winter is at the
heart of Imbolc and its celebrations. ~Stephanie Rose Bird

Each of us has within herself a healer. She has power enough to transform whatever pains us, into a learning and growth experience. Healing sometimes may call for the strong hands and hearts of others to help us. We must learn to reach out. Learning when to turn inward for our own healing is one of life's most difficult lessons. When the time comes, our inner Goddess will guide us toward the knowleg that we need

The dark of winter is passing, and the light of spring is growing stronger. Even as we know the light is growing stronger, we also know there will be challenges ahead. Each winter as we look inward, we have a chance to get to know that inner healer more completly. Then as spring comes, and we open outward, we can be joyful , knowing the strength and depth of our inner resources.

Daily Aromatherapy - Happy Dreams

Happy incidents will occur if you dream of inhaling any perfume.

Here is a bath recipe to precede ritual for cleansing, calming and centering.

Mix together 10 drops each of Myrrh, Sandalwood,Frankincense,and Ylang Ylang.

Add 6 drops of this mixture to a warm bath. Relax for 10 - 20 min.

Today is especially magical because it combines the sabbat of Imbolc with the esbat of the New Moon. One meaning of Imbolc is â€œin the belly,â€ the time when ewes grew heavy with lambs. The New Moon is also a time of inner life and ideas rising out of the subconscious. Use this rare confluence of energies to your advantage. Build your ritual around a black cauldron or bowl filled with soil. Use it as a focus for meditation on the meaning of this prefertile time. Contemplate what you want to bring into manifestation this growing season. Chant slowly:

In the belly
Life grows strong
It rises up
Toward the light
And then breathes out
One clear word.

Speak the word for what you seek to manifest. Light a candle and press it into the soil. Let the candles burn
out after the ritual.
