Vendors NOT RELIABLE
There was a guy there for Retro Candies named Mark, he had me save 3 tables for $50 (after rudely telling me he needs a lot of space
and needs the space to be in front and promised he's be at our event, we gave the man a price cut to top it all off, he never showed,
I found him at another Vendor fair that he felt was better then mine...DO NOT RECOMMEND, NOT RELIABLE, AND DIDN'T
CARE AT ALL ABOUT MY KIDS FUNDRAISER all about money, when I approached him he made a story up that he said he
MIGHT COME which was not the case of our conversation, very rude person, didn't say a word but ok and left....Thank you for holding
up our paces and taking money from our kids by not being honest and allowing us to fill those spaces!! THIS MAN TOLD ME HE
WOULD BE AT MY AIR AND TOLD ME TO ADVERTISE HIM ON MY SIGNS AND USED ME FOR ANOTHER AIR!
STAY AWAY FROM RETRO - SELFISH PERSON!
***we had another situation but not naming Vendor because this person is reliable and we don't want to hurt that person but but but....
VENDORS...ESP WHEN KIDS ARE INVOLVED, FACE PAINTING, TATTOOS, BELLY DANCERS, CHARACTERS, CANDIES ECT ECT
WHEN WE ASK ARE YOU COMING AND YOU SAY YES AND WAIT ON PAYMENTS...
IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBLY TO STICK TO YOUR WORD WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDREN!
IF YOUR NOT COMING JUST SAY I'M NOT COMING SO WE CAN FIND SOMEONE ELSE!
It was not fair to the small children that came in the morning looking for Vendors that we ADVERTISED AND PROMISED, I had
to give away some of my stuff I made to not make me look bad for false advertising, these vendors where important to the event and
was advertised on the signs that made us look like we had false advertisements, I did have back ups and those vendors also didn't call
back when they said they'd back up......JUST PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE AND HONEST...YES OR NO don't do this to kids!!

Today's Goddess: OKAME Tori no Ichi (Japan)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Today's Goddess: OKAME
Tori no Ichi (Japan)
Themes: Luck; Kindness
Symbols: Masks; Good-luck Charms
About Okame: Japanese art, Okame is portrayed as simple and somewhat homely, yet her
domain is the beautiful energy of good fortune and kind acts. In this form, Okame gently reminds
us that true beauty really does come from within. Local lore claims that any area that bears a
mask of Okame's likeness is blessed with her lucky nature.
To Do Today: Late in November, just preceding the new year in Japan, this is a day for rituals to
improve one's wealth and luck. Following a Japanese tradition, begin by find any lawn rake (or broom),
and attach as many personal good-luck charms to it as you can find. Take this token clockwise around
your home, raking or sweeping inward, to gather up Okame's fortunate energies. As you go through
our house, add verbal incantations, like the following:
{In the Kitchen} Okame, in my kitchen shine, so that good luck will be mine!
{In the Dining Room} Okame, at this table where people lounge, let your fortuity come around!
{Bathroom} Clean negativity and problems away; let good luck start today!
To encourage Okame's serendipity even further, you can burn orange, rose, heather, violet, or
allspice incense or potpourri as you go.

~Homeric Hymn To Hestia
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Sun Nov 20, 2011 9:14 pm (PST)
Hestia, highest Goddess among
both mortals and immortals,
you in your eternal home
are the one most revered of all.
Without you, we can hold no banquet,
for yours is the first drop of sweet wine
poured out on the ground, and
yours is the last drop too, O Hestia.
~Homeric Hymn To Hestia
Hestia was, to the ancient Greeks and to the Romans who called her Vesta, the Goddess who
represented the bonding force of family and community. She was represented by the flame of the
hearth, whether that was at home or the sacred fire of the city's center. To her were dedicated the
first, and the last, drops of wine at a banquet, for it was because other unifying power that people
gathered to celebrate together.
This is the season when we too gather to recognize the power of home family and friends. It is also
a season when people most poignantly feel any lack of connection and community. It is thus appropriate
to invoke Hestia, then, whether to thank her for providing the supportive connections we need or to ask
her to do so. For no one is an island; we need each other to survive and to thrive. True community is not
formed merely of blood, but of shared ideals and values. The lack of community may simply indicate that
an individual has not found such connection, just as the presence of a family hearth does not necessarily
mean a true flame is burning brightly there. To search for real community is to honor the symbolic
significance of Hestia.
