Many Blessings!
My question is... Why all the hate? Just because the Christian don't live up to their beliefs doesn't mean we must lower our selves to their level. I'm a Pagan and damn proud of it! I really have never been in the "broom closet" because I am who I am. You don't have to believe my way and I'm cool with that. If they threaten me, I quickly make them look at their own beliefs, the "golden rule", the 10 commandments and other parts of the Bible.
Bashing, threatening, or harming in any way is against Christian, Pagan, Hindu, Muslim, Heathen, or Buddhist beliefs and should not be tolerated by anyone. Good Christian don't beat women just like Bad Pagans do. Its not the belief but the believer.
If you look at our myths, there was a lot of incest, slavery and womanizing going on. My very own Patron, Hades, kidnapped his niece (which was a product of incest) and made her his wife (which he also cheated on more than once). This does not mean that I'm going to run around on my wife, or have sex with my sister, daughter or niece. Back then, that was the way of life but not now.
So now in the words of Rodney King, "can't we all just get along?" If we as Pagans bash Christians, we are no better than them.
Much love and blessings
Chris

Karen, you know that I support you and what you post here 100%. If you decided to drop the group, please let me know because I will be following you. I, too, and tired of the people on this list that don't care to support their own ideas, the ideas of Paganism and Witchcraft. At this particular time, with the Right Wingnut Republicans doing everything to put the unions, women, the poor, those that need healthcare and more into a feudal society where we are the slaves and they, the 1% are the masters, it is more important that we wake up and take up the struggle for our freedom.
Very Sincerely, B*B, Don

I want to follow the links you post, but idk if I can on my phone, which is
why I don't comment. I was raised christian, and though I've chosen a pagan
path, I don't like to judge people by my standards because not everyone was
raised with them. Do I approve of people abusing their spouses? Absolutly
not. Male, female, does not matter. Verbally degrading someone is abuse.
I've seen it in action, from male to female and from female to male. All I
can do right now is refuse to let it happen happen to me, and encourage the
abused to seek help. -Deardre

Karen,
Apparently I missed something. The last time I looked the list sends out information for one to use as one needs. Are you an owner/moderator for this list? Was their an argument I overlooked? Is it that you feel that you aren't being heard, ignored or that peope have openly disagreed with you? Not eactly sure what your complaint is... if people simply aren't responding or are in open disagreement that what you are posting, that is their right. It is an open forum, and you cannot not expect everyone to be on your side, to pay attention to you or to validate you. There are as many opposing viewpoints in Paganism as the world provides especially on a list with over 1000 people. Some are liberal, some are conservative.
I agree, there IS an issue with the republican regime attempting to undermine women's reproductive rights, one I am none too happy about. This is clearly a subject that you are passionate about. Perhaps you should let the information that you are presenting reach the people it needs to reach and leave it at that. Sometimes people have to reach certain truths in their own time, myself included. So no, I don't think anyone is wasting their times when trying to educate others on another viewpoint, we just can't expect everyone to get on board.
Peace,
Heather

Apparently I did NOT get the entire thread. Looks like Grambadger's remark was pretty ignorable.

Thanks Katrina and Don.
I'll go ahead and keep posting guests for my show here then I guess.
And I INVITE YOU AND ANYONE ELSE HERE TO MY FACEBOOK PAGE where we can
more easily talk about what's going on in the world without people
getting bent out of shape when we talk about REALITY!
As you so rightly said Don, too many Pagans aren't really awake or
standing up to protect themselves. They whine they don't like politics
- well, it might not be pretty or fun, but politics shape our future!
They should google the DC 40 and things Newt Gingrich has said about
pagans. Google the Evangelical Quiverful Movement and Dominionist
Christianity. Santorum has basically said he's for a theocracy - where
do they think that would leave pagans! Pagans are already discriminated
against. Ever hear of the Lady Liberty League or Patrick McCollum's
fight for Pagan rights?
