OH MY GOD and GODDESS! Are you kidding me?!?!?!
If we were to censor our language to this extreme, we would have to go back to grunts and clicks!
Are we gonna ban the word pork because it might offend Jews?
How about hamburger or hotdog because it might offend a member of PETA?
How about the word food in general or the word house because it might offend a homeless person? But of course homeless is banned too so they just become extinct which might offend the dinosaur which we also can't say!
This is insane! (Stepping down off my soapbox now.)

I was only half kidding about pagans, and their not having children at all. I'm quite aware that many of the folks on this list are moms who love their kids, further, many of them who are not moms also love kids (who could possibly wish children away?)
If you have Adler's book, look at the chapter on "living on Earth", or at least Bonewitz's bit in the preamble. If you don't have one, go get one before your turn another page.
And get your kids the hell out of publiuc school, before they are coompletely Huxlied.

Simple Gestures of Solace
Offering Comfort
When offering comfort to somebody, their only real need is to have you be in the present moment with them.

Sometimes it is difficult to see someone we love struggling, in pain, or hurting. When this happens, we might feel like we need to be proactive and do something to ease their troubles. While others may want our help, it is important to keep in mind that we need to be sensitive to what they truly want in the moment, since it can be all too easy to get carried away and say or do more than is really needed. Allowing ourselves to let go and simply exist in the present with another person may actually provide a greater amount of comfort and support than we could ever imagine.

Perhaps we can think back to a time when we were upset and needed a kind word, hug, or listening ear from someone else. As we remember these times, we might think of the gestures of kindness that were the most healing. It may have been gentle words such as “I care about you,” or the soothing presence of someone holding us and not expecting anything that were the most consoling. When we are able to go back to these times it becomes easier for us to keep in mind that giving advice or saying more than is really necessary is not always reassuring. What is truly comforting for another is not having someone try to fix them or their problems, but to just be there for them. Should we begin to feel the urge arise to offer advice or repair a situation, we can take a few deep breaths, let the impulse pass, and bring our attention back to the present. Even though we may want to do more, we do not have to do anything other than this to be a good friend.

The more we are attuned to what our loved ones are feeling, the more capable we are of truly giving what is best for them in their hour of need. Keeping things simple helps us give the part of ourselves that is capable of the greatest amount of compassionâ€"open ears and an understanding heart.

Goddess:  Mujaji
Masquerade (Africa)
 
Themes:  Balance;
Restoration; Weather; Cleansing; Fertility
Symbol:  Rainwater
 
About Mujaji:  Mujaji is an African rain goddess who exudes gently with
fertility, or fiercely with cleansing, depending on the need.  Her power
and presence is so impressive that it led H. Rider Haggard to write the novel,
"She", based on her cult.
 
To Do Today:  To purify any area and ready it for ritual, sprinkle
rainwater as you move clockwise, saying:
 
Mujaji, flow through
me;
Mujaji, cleanse me;
Mujaji, rain lightly
here on all I love and hold dear.
 
To expel unproductive emotions
(represented by the sky's tears), do the same thing, but move
counterclockwise--this is the traditional direction of banishing.
 
If it does rain gently today, it is a
sign of blessing.  Go out and skip, dance, or sing in the rain (think Gene
Kelly with a magical twist).  This will renew your spirit and lift any
dark clouds overshadowing your heart.
 
Africans observe this holiday as a time
to reinstate symmetry in the world and in themselves.  They wear elaborate
costumes to appease the divine, praying for the necessary rainfall to ensure
rich soil, and consequently an abundant harvest.  To adapt this, pray to
Mujaji to enrich the soil of your soul so that come the fall, you can harvest
her productive nature.

Maiden goddess, holy
one,
protector of hills and
forest,
protector of mothers in
labor,
protector of the buds
of infancy,
triple goddess, I
invoke you.
bless the trees around
my home,
the ones that shade me,
the ones that screen
the wind,
the ones that perfume
the air.
May they protect me as
you do.
How will I thank you?
When I eat flesh, I
will thank you.
When I eat fruit, I
will thank you.
When I drink clear
water, I will thank you.

The earth does not owe
us her protection. Ancient people knew this. They knew that, however motherly
she may be, the goddess does not provide for children who are ungrateful or
disdainful of her gifts.
 Thus most ancient
cultures had rituals of thanksgiving, in which the goddess is thanked for the
protection she generously affords us. What such ritual will we each perform
today?
