Get a copy, read and digest, "The Kabylion," not the Kaballah. This book has the Hermetic principles in it. Traditionally written by Hermes, Trismagestis.

This may be a good book, I suggest to check it out. There are many books out there that use just some of what the Kabylion says. For example, "The Secret" is about the Law of Attraction, "The Celestine Prophecy," is a mish mash of some of the Hermetic Principals. So, as with all things, Caveat Emptor, let the buyer be ware.

Christopher,
I'm not sure where you're seeing hate from me. I'm having scholars on
my radio show discussing how Christian language perpetuates abuse and
male dominance. Women can understand the problem of that more quickly
than men I think. The show was also about wonderful Progressive
Christian ministers going against the status quo to recognize the Sacred
Feminine in their Christian congregation. Shedding light on Christian
oppression is not Christian bashing.

Heather, the conversation took a turn because when I posted notice of
the above show, two people, Grambadger one of them, who apparently has
held a grudge against me for a long time because of discussion we had
about the Bible perpetuating the abuse of women and he said he didn't
care and acted like there was something wrong with me for pointing it
out, well he characterized my aforementioned radio show as "politics
again" and there was obviously no politics involved. This was simply
what the subject line says and I've reiterated above. I suggested
people not presume what my shows are about, not presume my motivation,
but perhaps avail themselves of the opportunity to hear from these
learned scholars and broaden their horizon. Or not, but don't take
shots at me if they'd prefer not to because I'm providing Voices of the
Sacred Feminine to the community, AT MY EXPENSE, as a service to the
community. Felt a lot like the old saying "no good deed go unpunished"
- so I said, if no one on the list values the posts I put here, I won't
waste my time, so I asked. And people, even Grambadger decided my show
had some value.

I guess you could say I didn't appreciate getting mis-characterized so I
was trying to straighten things out and determine if I should bother
posting here or not. Don added his frustration with the list at times
seeming to act more worried about standing up for Christians than
themselves who self-identify as Pagans - and yes, sometimes that means
having to go against Evangelical Christians who are anti-Pagan which
more often than not are Republicans.

Thanks,
Karen

Ah ok. Thanks for the clarification. For some reason the whole thread did not come to me, so naturally I was confused. Yeah... didn't think you were making money from your podcast and even if you were... you're providing information that people might not have otherwise.  Good luck with everything.

Peace,
Heather

Today's Goddess: TASHMIT World Day of Prayer

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Today's Goddess: TASHMIT
World Day of Prayer

Theme: Prayer; Blessing; Unity; Hope
Symbols: Folded Hands

About Tashmit: The Goddess is timeless and eternal, and she has many faces with which
she conveys the concepts of truth and beauty to the world's people.
Tashmit, the Chaldean goddess of wisdom and teaching, in particular,
stands ready today. Her name means "hearing"; it is she who listens
intently to our prayers.

To Do Today: On the first Friday in March, people in over 170 countries join in
prayer, and the goddess asks that we do similarly. Prayer is something
that seems to have gone by the wayside in our "instant" world. Yet it
takes only a moment to honor the sacred. This prayer is but one example; change or adapt it liberally to suit your needs and vision:

Lady of Wisdom,
Tashmit, I come to you for guidance. Shine on my path today that I might see others in an equal light, that I might speak with truth and
kindness, that I might walk the Path of Beauty with a loving heart and
peaceful spirit.

Hear the voices of your people raised together today in oneness; hear our prayers. Let us find
unity in diversity, heal the world; let us know peace and guard it as
sacred. With a thankful heart, so be it.

Hestia Hearth Spell

Hestia Hearth Spell

To clean your house call upon the Goddess Hestia. She is Goddess of hearth and home and will aid you in your quest for a clean space. Starting in
the kitchen,
take a broom and sweep a circle going clockwise. Three times round go, chanting:

Hestia of the hearth,
Help me banish dust and dirt.
Let chores go fast,
Let grime beware!
Make my space shine With renewed care.

Follow this up with a good cleaning. You will be amazed at how well and how
fast it goes. Repeat in any room where it is needed. After you are done,
light a candle and leave out an offering of home-baked bread for Hestia. ~Nancy Bennett

Indian Rig Veda

Hail to the Goddess of song, the one who feeds the singer
on milk and melted butter and purest water.
Hail to Sarasvati, she who gives us treasure.
She of the marvelous gifts, she of the best of luck,
she of the greatest wealth, we hail her.
May she bring me fortune. May she bring me luck.
May she bring me protection as she answers my prayers.
~Indian Rig Veda

The dance
of the seasons is moving  toward a new moment. Spring stirs the body
just as it stirs the sap in the trees. We are part of this world,
however much we may sometimes feel disconnected from it. And within
ourselves, each year, we live through the entire cycle of life.

Something
within each of us, at this time, yearns to be born, to rise, to flow.
The weeks before spring actually arrives are difficult ones. We have
grown impatient with the gray sterility of winter; we are ready for
green growth. We are ready for our fortunes to change, for luck to smile upon us. But just because we are ready does not mean that the world is
ready to meet those needs. So we pray, and we hope, and we long for what will come. And it will, in its own good time..

What's Happening Today:

Isidis Navigatum - The Romans celebrated the Goddess Isis as the patroness of sailors and inventor of the sail. Apuleius has her say, "Devote to my worship the day born of this night…for at this season, the storms of winter lose their force, the leaping waves subside and the sea becomes navigable once more."

Rufus gives details of a celebration held at a port city near Corinth. Women wore flower garlands and strewed petals; others held mirrors so the goddess could see herself and others sprinkled the streets with perfume. Devotees carried lamps, torches and candles. They were followed by pipers, flutists and choirboys. Beadles called out, "Make way! Make way for the goddess!" Priests advanced toward the sea, dribbling milk from a breast-shaped golden pitcher.

The procession stopped at the seashore, in front of a boat built for the ritual with heiroglyphics painted over the entire hull, a sail of shining white linen, a long fir mast, a gilded prow shaped like the neck of Isis's golden goose and a long keel cut from a solid trunk of citrus wood. The hold was loaded with spice and other offerings. Priests cut the moorings and sent off the ship as an offering to "the queen of the stars, the mother of the seasons, the mistress of the universe."

Z Budapest suggests blessing your boats with incense or casting flowers into the sea for luck.

Beltaine May 5th-6th 2012

Yes, there will be a much smaller celebration this year at Schreiber's Farm in Oxford. This year's theme is community.

$20 per person includes overnight camping

Maypole, ritual, some classes, hayrides, drumming all night.

If you want to help please let me know.

Sponsors, presenter, perfomers, volunteers welcome - all must be without cost to us. Renting the farm is not free.

We will rebuild the festival into being a large one again for next year, but it needs your participation to make it happen.

The myth of that there will always be someone else to do the work is what has held the Pagan community back in this area for years, and it has all too often meant leaving the wrong people for the wrong reasons to do that work.

Let's rebuild, and do so with good people.

Blessings,
Alicia
