Herbs For Protection

The herbs that are most normally used for protection are those that have
powers to disperse evil and create a protective barrier when burned, carried on
your person, or hung wherever protection is needed. Because these herbs contain
positive energy they are able to repel, or bounce back negative vibrations or
energy.

Protection spells should be done during a waxing moon, suggested colors
are red and white. The following herbs are generally considered protective in
nature (this is certainly not a complete list!):

Angelica, Balm of Gilead, Basil, Betony, Dill, Elder berries, Fennel,
Garlic (of course), Horehound, Hyssop, Mistletoe, Mugwort, Mullein, Rose
Geranium, Rosemary, Rue, St John's Wort, Tarragon and Vervain.

One of the simplest protective spells is to make a charm using three of
the above herbs, mix them together and place them in the center of a red or
white piece of cloth. (One made of Elderberries, Rosemary and Tarragon has a
really delightful fragrance if it is to be used indoors.) Gather up the
corners, tie and charge the sachet saying words like:

"By Water, Earth, Fire and Air,

Protect that for which I care!"

Repeat the chant three times, with greater strength and authority each
time. Carry the charm with you. To protect the home, place it in the highest
point of the house or near the hearth (the kitchen if you don't have a fireplace).
To protect you and your car while driving, place the charm under the driver's
seat.

 Magical Herbs

Magickal herbs have been used in
protective magic since ancient times and can be as simple as spreading the
herbs around a person, item or place and allowing their protective energies to
go to work, to making a protection floor wash, satches, incenses and more.

Grow
Fennel in your yard
Plant
Holly near your home
Burn
Mistletoe to banish evil
Bay Leaf Sachet
for general protection

Other Protective Herbs

Grow Fennel in your
yard. Fennel is a highly protective herb that will ward off evil of all kinds,
including the evil from the hearts of men and evil spirits. It makes a beautiful
plant for flower beds or rock gardens and becomes a natural shield to protect
you and your home.

Plant holly bushes
near your home to protect your home from lightening strikes and keep evil of
all types away from your home.

Burn mistletoe in incense, your fireplace, or a bonfire in your yard to
send any evil or negative energies in or around your home packing.

Add whole bay
leaves to any sachet used in your home as a general protection measure for your
home. You can also soak bay leaves in water for 3 days, then strain the water
and sprinkle it in a circle around your home for protection.

Aloe: Protection against illness.
Angelica: For banishing evil spirits and negative
energies
Asafetida: Perhaps the strongest banishing herb
there is but it smells HORRID! Especially when burned.
Basil: Makes a good floor wash or sachet for
general protection.
Bay Leaves: General protection
Bay Laurel: General Protection
Betony: Protects against negative energies and is
good to protect against psychic attacks
Birch: Protection from spirits.
Cactus: Banishing on both the physical and
spiritual levels
Celandine: Removes negative energies
Cinnamon: Good general protection and from
negative energies.
Clove: Protection from psychic attack or
intentional magic attack.
Clover: General protection.
Comfrey: General protection, also good for
protection when traveling in the astral realm
Coriander: General protection
Dandelion: Protects from bad dreams.
Dill: Good for protection against psychic attacks
and as a general protection for babies.
Dragonsblood: Very strong protection against all
evils. Hint: buy it from someone instead of trying to grow it. It is very
hard to grow and is a very messy tree.
Elecampane: Cleanses the area of negative
energies.
Ferns: General protection.
Garlic: Banishes all types of evil.
Hawthorn: General protection.
Heather: One of the better general protection
plants. Very pretty and easily grown in flower beds for extra protection.
Holly: Protection from lightening and evil.
Hyacinth: Protects against nightmares. Burn
hyacinth incense before bed to help keep the nightmares at bay.
Hyssop: General protection.
Ivy: Good protection from psychic attacks and to
keep unwanted guests from showing up.
Lavender: Protection against bad dreams.
Marjoram: Make a good floorwash for general home
protection.
Mistletoe: General protection.
Mullein: Strong general protection.
Nettle Leaves: Good protection against psychic
attacks and to remove negative energies.
Onion: Protection against illness and evil.
Pennyroyal: Protection from psychic attacks and
magic attacks from others.
Peony: General protection.
Rosemary: Protection from psychic attacks and
removes negative energies.
Rue: Banishes evil.
St. John's Wort: General protection.
Soloman's Seal: General protection.
Thistle: Protection from thieves.
Vervain: General protection.
Yarrow: Protection from psychic attacks and magic
attacks.

NOTE: Do not eat or drink any of
these herbs unless you know they are safe. No herbs on this list are here for
use in any type of medicinal use. They are listed here for incenses, satchels,
floor washes or as plants for your yard and some of them are poisonous.

Magical Herbal Uses

Incenses: Most herbs can be used in incenses,
however not all herbs smell good when they are burned. It is suggested that you
take a small sprig of any herb you have never smelled while burning and do a
test burn before grinding or adding to any incense mixture.

One of the easiest ways to use them
is to buy them in cut and sift from or powdered form and burn them over
charcoal briquets you can buy specifically for this purpose. NOTE: DO NOT use
charcoal from your grill inside a closed area.

Herbal Floor Wash: Heat water in a non-metallic pan.
(some herbs will stain metal) Drop in a hand full of the herbs you wish to use
and allow them to steep. Strain out the herbs and use the resulting brew as a
floor wash.

Herbal Amulet: An amulet is usually made for a
larger piece of the herb you intend to use. Limbs from trees or large bushes or
a piece of the root tend to work best. Carve or paint an appropriate symbol
onto it and carry for protection.

Herbal Talisman: These can be made in many ways. I
personally like to clay and fold the herbs into the center of the clay. The
clay can then be shaped however you desire, painted if you like and then baked
to harden and used as jewelry or carried in your pocket or purse.

Herbal Teas: Infuse the herb into water and drink
as you would any other tea. NOTE: Make sure you know what herb you are
ingesting. Not all the herbs listed here are edible. Some are poisonous and
should not be used for teas.

Herbal Soaps: Whether you purchase them from
someone else or make them yourself, soaps can be a great way to bring the magic
of herbs into your life. Add visualization while using the soap during a bath
or shower can release the magic to do it work in your life.

I am American, but here is what I found online:
Yoruba medicineFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search
Yorùbá medicine (egbogi) is a herbal-based form of the science and art of healing. This form of herbal medicine is embraced by various communities in West Africa, the Caribbean and elsewhere around the globe."African herbal medicine is commonly called Yorubic or Orisha medicine on the African continent. It started from a religious text, called Ifa Corpus. According to tradition, the Ifa Corpus was revealed by the mystic prophet, Orunmilla, around 4,000 years ago in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, now known as major city in Yorùbáland. The last 400 years saw individuals in the Caribbean and South America practice the Yorubic healing system as a token of their past when the first wave of personnel arrived in the Americas.[1]Herbal medicine, also called botanical medicine or phytomedicine, refers to the use of any plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes.
