Core Reclaiming Class: Elements of
Magic – April/May 2012
Join Melbourne Reclaiming
teachers SunBird (Fiona Mariposa) and Aria Weaver (Krista Rados) for
a 3-day course in the Elements of Reclaiming Tradition
(Witchcraft/Paganism)
Course Dates:
Saturday April 28, 10am – 4pm

About the Course
Reclaiming Elements classes ground
participants in the basic skills and ritual style of Reclaiming
Tradition (Witchcraft/Paganism) . They also help participants to
explore their personal relationships with the sacred Elements and the
Divine Mystery/Spirit, by teaching practices that can be woven into
our daily routines, to enrich our lives.
Throughout the three days of the
course, we will explore each of the four sacred Elements – Earth,
Air, Fire and Water; we will familiarise ourselves with the seven
Sacred Directions; and we will delve deeply into ritual skills –
covering core process, as well as practices to enhance invocations
and energy-working/observation skills. This workshop series will
give participants a good grounding in the skills necessary for ritual
and magic, as well as a practical overview of the evolving,
ecstatic Pagan tradition that is Reclaiming Tradition.
A student who studies this
core Elements class can expect to be able to create ritual on their
own and in a group. They will also have a grounding in some core
exercises that can be woven into an enriching daily personal
spiritual practice.

Classes will be held at the Jika Jika
Oldis Gardens Room, Oldis Gardens, Westgarth St, Westgarth (Located
Near Westgarth Station – Melways Ref: Map 30, G 11)

About the Teachers
SunBird has been practising
Reclaiming tradition Paganism for around 14 years, and has worked as
a priestess and teacher to facilitate many rituals and workshops over
that time. She works as a teacher, an activist and a writer to share
her love of Nature with people of all ages. Fiona has taught as a
Reclaiming Teacher at the Australian Reclaiming WitchCamp (now
EarthSong WitchCamp), and is teaching at both the CloudCatcher
WitchCamp and the California WitchCamp this year.
Fiona is an activist, writer, singer,
dream-worker, gardener and seed sower. She looks to clouds and
rocks for guidance, and counts many plants, animals and fungi as her
teachers and allies.
Aria Weaver
Spiritual philosophy and magic have been part of Aria's life
since childhood. This evolved into an active practice of paganism and
witchcraft – a path she has been walking for over 15 years.
Aria's spiritual work and personal interests are deeply embedded
in all forms of justice, community building and empowerment. She
believes that Reclaiming offers everyone the chance to learn skills
that help awaken aspects of the human condition often suppressed by
the dominant culture. As such, Reclaiming appeals to her desire to
link the worlds of spirituality, magic and activism. It also
complements Aria's experiential teaching style.
Aria connects with the sacred through ritual, music, writing,
watching the ocean and lying on the grass in the sun. She dreams of a
sustainable and peaceful future and explores ways that we can empower
ourselves and each other so that we may create positive change in the
world.
