Yes I do agree that there is a stigma about people who have tattoos, they look down on us like we're  poor white trash.

Tattoos,
Oh I just love them.  Just about every member of my family has at least one.  As
long as they are old enough. My Brother in law is the artist of the family. My
own darling 16 year old daughter has one.  I just love them, in my opinion I
cannot have enough.  Sadly, I only have four.
On my left, inside wrist...I have a black cat with a Celtic knot shaped
shamrock- behind it.  (sorry for telling you this one) I also have an Owl on the
upper part of my Left breast. sitting on a branch that says Namaste' (and
yes...it was purposefully placed there giggle.)
On my right Calf is the  Clan Shaw  family crest With my youngest daughters
name.
On my Left ankle is a ying-yang with dophins swimming around it.  My two oldest
childrens names circling the dolphins.  That is it so far.
My next tattoo will be of wings on my back that were designed to tell the story
of my life. Quite extensive and all kind of Owwwww....
I believe tattoos are simply a story in ink. the story of each life...
Just my two cents worth.

some people, unfortunately find tattoos distasteful and throw up their eyes and
noses at them. I have 4. some people think that the body is the temple. if that
is true, then I think that the body is a temple, and it is our duty to decorate
it...

So true. some of my family has tattoos.
My sons have tattoos and I tattooed one of my sons.
Ink is the most awsome was to exspres ones self
unless of corse it not for good.

If there is some thing I wont tattoo on people
is the tattoos that is for hate. I wont do those.

I tattooed a Koi fish on my left leg and a vine of flowers
( Earth and Water and every thing they are for)
And the on the uper hale will be a flaming heart with a butterfly
flying away from it( Fire and Air).

I have a celtic knot on my left uper arm for the power of 3.

I tattooed a camle on my oldest sons right big toe.
lol I know camle toe. It's the joke for his Marine unit.

I love inking people it's relaxing to me and can be fun at times.

Fun Friday--Animal Designs Good Enough to Kiss

Everything but trout pouts: Gobsmacking animal designs good enough to kiss

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 3:42 PM on 17th February 2011

Artist Paige Thompson had a foxy idea when she puckered up in front of the mirror and started to paint these amazing animal designs - on her own lips.

Now her unique take on face-painting has become an Internet sensation, attracting thousands of followers to her website and sparking demand for new creations.

The 21-year-old was feeling bored when she stumbled across some Halloween make-up she had as a child and began to paint colourful and cute animals on her mouth before photographing them.

A red crab: Paige takes half an hour in front of a mirror to paint each creation

A red fox: An early creation and one of Paige's favourites

A bumble bee: The first of Paige's 'Animal-ipstick' creations

She started with a bumblebee, then a fox, and as her menagerie grew she christened them 'Animal-ipsticks'.

Paige takes half an hour in front of a mirror to paint each creation, starting with a base colour and adding details such as stripes, eyes and ears.

So far Paige has created a bumblebee, black cat, fox, crab, caterpillar, hippo, chameleon and panda, sticking to a basic pallette of red, blue, yellow, green, black and white.

Her childhood set of water-based paints came with a small brush but she has since bought other brushes to allow her to get better detail. But she refuses to spend money on expensive branded make-up.

A caterpillar and a hippo: Paige starts with a base colour and adds details such as stripes, eyes and ears

A panda: 'There are so many animals I don't think I'll ever run out of ideas,' says Paige

Paige, from Texas, was inspired to try her own lipstick art after admiring the face-painting of other artists.

'I had virtually nothing to do around the house, so I tried my luck with some old Halloween face paint that we had used since I was a kid,' she said.

'My first animal-lipstick, the bumblebee, wasn't even formed as an idea until I painted my lips yellow and added some random black stripes. It was then apparent that a face was needed.

'I thought the result was cute, so I made a few more. I never imagined so many people would love these photos.'

A black cat: Paige's creations have left thousands of fans wanting more

A colourful Chameleon: 'Animnal-ipsticks' stem from boredom and an old set of Halloween paints

Paige continued: 'I chose to do animals because I had already done the bumblebee, so I thought I could expand upon the animal kingdom.

'After all, there are so many animals, I don't think I'll ever run out of ideas.

'My personal favourites are the bumblebee and the fox since those were two of my first, and most adorable, Animal-ipsticks.
'I'm not a huge makeup fan, but I am an art student and working with different mediums is fun and comes naturally to me.'
The next animals in line for Paige's lip-smacking treatment are be a jaguar, zebra, monkey, parrot and a dog.

Rite of Paganing/Wiccaning

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:34 am (PST)

Rite of Paganing/Wiccaning

The rite should be performed as the Moon is waxing, and preferably near to
an appropriate seasonal festival.

An altar may be set up if desired. Implements required for the ceremony
are: the coven sword, or a wand if preferred, plus sword, helm and shield for
the magical armoring. Candles may be used in the calling of the quarters.

As the rite is to begin, the priestess and the priest shall face the parents
and the godparents, and of course the child, who may be carried in someone's
arms. The rest of the group shall be gathered about.

When all seems ready, the Maiden shall raise her arms in salute and call:

"We do give greetings to one who is new
to this Mid-earth,
We present this small and sacred one
to the Old Gods,
And welcome the small and holy one among us,
Let us summon now the elements."

The Sentinel of the East shall raise hands in salute to the quarter and call:

"O winds of the East
Who bring forth freshness, life and joy...
Cast your blessings upon this child
And become a friend to her/him!"

The Sentinel of the South shall raise hands in salute to that quarter and
call:

"O warm sun and warm skies of the South,
Bringing life anew, the growth of all things,
and promise of the future,
Cast your blessings upon this child
And become a friend to him/her!"

The Sentinel of the West shall call:

"O cool lakes and deep seas of the West,
Waters soft and giving of fresh life
Cast your blessings upon this child
And become a friend to her/him!"

The Sentinel of the North shall call:

"O mighty mountains and endless steppes
of the North,
Meadows of green and the creatures that
therein dwell,
Cast your blessings upon this child
And become a friend to her/him!"

The Priest shall then invoke:

"O ancient Lord of the Universe
We ask some portion of your presence here
among us now
Shield and strengthen the child who shall
be dedicated in Your honor!"

The Priestess shall then invoke:

"O most gracious and magnificent Lady
We ask that some portion of your presence
be here among us now,
Give protection and shelter to the small
and sacred one
Who is here to be dedicated in Your honor !"

The Maiden shall then sound the bell five times, and then she shall ask:

"Who is it that shall come before the Gods?
Who is it that speaks for this small one?"

The Mother shall say:

"Before our friends,
Before those of the mysteries,
Before those who are seen,
And those who are invisible,
Before the Lords of the Quarters,
And before the Mighty Dead,
Before the Immortal Gods themselves,
Do I bring forth_____________,
We have long sought this small one,
And brought forth our child in love."

The Father shall say:

"Before our friends,
Before those of the mysteries,
Before those who are seen,
And before those who are invisible,
Before the Lords of the Quarters,
And the Mighty Dead,
Do I bring forth____________,
We have long sought this small one,
And brought forth our child in love."

The Mother and Father both hold the infant, and the Priest comes forth and
holds his hands out over the child in an attitude of blessing, saying:

"May the blessings of the wise and joyous
Father of the Gods,
Farseeing and far-knowing,
Be upon thee, small friend!"

The Priestess comes forth and holds her hands over the child in an attitude
of blessing, saying:

"The blessings of the Triple Goddess,
Of Maiden, of Mother, of Crone,
And all of Their power be upon thee,
small friend!"

The bell is sounded three times, and there is a pause.

The Exhortation to the Parents

The godparents hand over the sword to the priest. The Priest then holds out
the sword, and the Priestess places her hand over his to symbolically hold
it also. The Priest says to the parents:

"I bid you both to put your hands
On this blade of the magical Sword of the Art.
And hearken to our words to you both,
For the bringing of a new life into the world
And the linking of one so young
To the most ancient of Ways
Is a most serious matter."

Priestess:

"I bid you both to give your child
The finest and deepest of training,
Yet make not her/his life one of tedious labor,
For one so young must live well
The joy of life."

Priest:

"I bid you both to respect your child
As an individual, for they are unique.
Remember always that a small frame
and child's ways
Often cover an excellent mind,
That in later years many shall honor."

Priest:
"I bid you both to give always
A fair hearing to your child,
Have patience as s/he learns and asks,
And remember that you yourselves
once ran this path.

Priestess:
I bid you both to give ever
New horizons, new challenges,
new worlds,
So that your child may go so far
As their own mind and spirit shall lead.
Do you hearken unto these words?"

Parents:
"We do."

The Parents Vows

Priestess:
If you be ready to assume these duties
As parents of the small one
Consecrated before the Eternal Gods,
Then take these vows,
And say now after me:"

(The parents repeat each line)

"We, _____________________As parents
And as followers of the Old Ways
Do take this sacred vow
Before the Old Gods
To whom we give honor
and fealty."

The Godparents' Vows

The Priest shall rap thrice loudly with the staff or wand and call:

"You who would to this child be Godparents
Come forth now and stand before the altar."

The Priestess says unto them:

"Are you now ready to assume the duties
As Godparents of the small one
To aid the parents in the upbringing of the child,
To support the young one that he may grow
Within the Old Religion and the
Craft of the Ancients,
And, if the Fates and the Gods
Remove the mother and sire from this world,
To take this child into your own care
And see that they are brought up in the Old Ways,
Are you now ready to assume these responsibilities?"

They answer affirmatively, and the Priestess and Priest take the sword to
hold it before the candidates. Then the Priestess says:

"Place your hands here
And swear before the Old Gods
That you are ready to bear these
responsibilities
If so, say now after me:"

The Godparents place their hands upon the sword and say after the Priestess:

"We assume these cares
In the all-powerful name of the Lady
And of Her Consort,
And of the Ancient Ones."

The Blessing of the Far Traditions

The Priest shall rap thrice with staff or wand, and say:

"I call on our friends of the Far Traditions,
Here with us as our honored guests
In this place sacred to the Gods,
To honor us with their blessings
Of this small and sacred one."

The Priestess and Priests of the various groups come forward as previously
agreed and give their blessings as they deem proper,

Closing

The child is held up over the altar and the final closing is given.

Priest:

"O ancient and hearty one, Friend and Helper,
Crowned with the mighty horns of Power,
The far-traveler who sees all,
Who gives wisdom and joy
And the challenge of that which is new,
Witness, we do ask, that _________________
Has by this rite been dedicated to Thee,
And to the Craft."

Priestess:

"O gracious and most magnificent Lady,
Whose slender hand turns the vast wheel
of the sky,
Whose triple aspect does see
The beginning, the life, and the end of all things,
Whose wells of mystery do give
Inspiration and rebirth throughout eternity,
Witness now, we do ask, that _________________
Has by this rite been dedicated to Thee,
And to Thy Craft,
O Beautiful One,
Blessed Be!

A pause, the candles on the altar are put out, and the Priestess says:

"This rite is ended,
Merry meet and merry part!
May the Gods preserve the Craft!"

Hi all.
Just wanted to say hello and I am glad to be a part of the group. It seems from a couple of the email addresses that I already know a few of you, that we have been members of a couple of other groups together.
I am a solitary witch/pagan in far SE Texas. Just 20 miles from dipping my toes into the 'lovely' Gulf of Mexico.
I only recently 'came out' a couple of months ago. So talking and sharing w others on the internet is a GIGANTIC step for me.
I honor and cherish Artemis and Diana and do a full week of worship for each night of the full moon.
Well...that sums it up for now, just wanted to say hello.

Blessings on each of you

Elder's Meditation of the Day

"It can be 100 degrees in the shade one afternoon and suddenly there comes a storm with hailstones as big as golf balls, the prairie is all white and your teeth chatter. That's good - a reminder that you are just a small particle of nature, not so powerful as you think."

-- Lame Deer, LAKOTA

No event, no relationship, no joy, no sadness, no situation ever stays the same. Every setback is only temporary. Even setbacks change. Why? Because the Great Spirit designed the world to be constantly changing. We are not the center of the universe, we are but a small part. The whole is constantly changing, and we as humans are constantly participating in the change. We have two choices, to resist change or participate in the change. Every change can be resisted, and every change can be made in cooperation. What will I choose today, resistance or cooperation?

Great Spirit, teach me to make cooperative changes.

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and
the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk

night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in
spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

An easy way to freshen and disinfect the bathroom.

Place several drops of essential oil on the cardboard
of the toilet tissue roll. Each time it is used the scent
will diffuse into the room.

Try Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Lemon or Lavender or
perhaps a favorite blend.

Computer FAQ's  (The SHift Key)

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Fri Feb 18, 2011 12:21 pm (PST)

Computer FAQ's (The Shift Key)

Q. Why are there are no "shift" keys on my keyboard, but there are two keys labeled "hif"?

A. Again, you may want to consider cleaning your keyboard, and washing your hands more frequently for that matter.

---

Q. Are there shift keys on my Macintosh?

A. Yes, although instead of the notation "shift", the key may be labeled with an excited Mac face, something like :O . Press this key to use shift, and be thankful you're using a friendly Mac instead of a mean old PC with all them confusin' words 'n stuff on it.

---

Q. I'm sick of pushing the shift key every single time I want big letters. Is there any other way to do this?

A. This is the Modern Age of Convenience, and you may be able to activate the shift key merely with the power of your voice! Check to see whether your computer is equipped with speech-recognition equipment by saying the word "shift" very clearly and slowly into its speaker. Then watch the keyboard closely to see if the Shift key moves down. Note that you may have to repeat this action several times to "train" the computer to recognize your voice before the feature works reliably.

---

Q. There are two shift keys, which should I use?

A. Avoid unnecessary wear on either shift key by alternating between the two. Keep track of your usage of each key so that you press them in equal amounts. Your keyboard may be equipped with a small notepad; you should use this to make little tally marks in two columns for each time you shift. Remember, it's better to go to a little trouble than wind up with a broken shift key.

---

Q. If I press the shift key at the wrong time, or too many times, will my computer explode?

A. No. Well, generally no. Not unless you are using a NEC laptop. Or VT100 terminal emulation. But even then, hardly ever. Really, don't worry about it. Forget I mentioned it. Just type softly. Move along, next question.

---

Q. Why are the shift keys bigger than the other keys?

A. They aren't. This is simply an optical illusion. Just as the moon appears much larger when it is close to the horizon, your shift keys look larger because of their proximity to other keys. To verify this, go out in a large field at night with your keyboard, place it in an upright position, and view it from a distance of 200 yards. Sure enough, the keys all look the same size!

Enhance Well-Being Spell

Enhance Well-Being Spell

To bring well-being to your weary soul, select a room in the home
where the morning Sun shines most strongly. Make sure windows and doors are shut to keep out any strong breezes. Clean two mirrors, and arrange some orange-colored flowers in two separate vases. Put two gold candles in decorative holders. Place the vases on small tables on opposite sides of the room, and place a mirror behind each vase. Put the candles a little distance in front of each of the vases and light them. Sit comfortably in the space between the two tables. Feel the solar energies charging the flowers, the candles, and the beams reflecting between the mirrors. Feel this energy empowering your mind, body, and spirit. Visualize yourself completely
revitalized.

Vibrations Matter

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Vibrations Matter
Frequency Can Change Your Life!
by Red

Have you ever really thought about some of the terminology we use to describe our moods? If you say that your spirits are "low," people immediately conclude that you are troubled or depressed. However, an extreme victory or positive experience may cause such a "rush" that you are flying "high" for days.

Words such as high, low, rush, up, and down can be used to portray not only how we are feeling, but also describe the vibes in which we are living and emitting.

Everything is energy
Everything that exists, whether or not you can see or touch it, is made up of energy. From the floor that is beneath your feet to the thoughts that run through your mind, it all boils down to energy, and energy is never still.

For all intents and purposes, a floor is solid matter. You can see it, touch it and it supports your weight. Seems like it is just sitting there, serving its flooring purpose, but that doesn't mean that it is still. The energy that makes up the floor is hard at work, moving and vibrating at just the right speed and frequency to maintain its solid structure and physical appearance.

Thoughts are no less real than the floor beneath your feet, but they vibrate at a different speed and frequency. You may not be able to touch them, but that doesn't make them any less substantial. Your body also has its own vibrations. After all, there is a whole lot going on underneath the skin that most of us don't really think about!

Can you feel it?
We all have good days and bad, but have you ever really paid attention to how life tends to flow in relation to your mood? How about when you meet someone for the first time and immediately like or dislike them, without really knowing why? Everyone and everything is throwing off vibrations. Sometimes, we are consciously aware of the resonance and frequency, and the intermingling vibrations that either harmonize or repel. Because like attracts like, the vibes that we emit are similar to a mating call, drawing in people, events and things that exist on the same or similar vibrational plane as our own.

Most times, looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. When we are feeling good about our selves and our lives, we tend to have a bit more confidence and it shows. We are more charismatic, appearing brighter and more beautiful - to ourselves and others. Those "happy to be alive" days are the best. We may dismiss them as luck or a fluke, but the reality is we have kicked our vibrations up a notch, and we are emitting and feeling an energetic boost.

Harmonize energy
When our vibrations are low, we are more tired, pessimistic and can even be mean or depressed. Those vibrations are the energy we project and the energy we attract. This vibe is more likely to cause a bad hair day, get us caught in traffic and possibly top it all off by having our morning coffee spill on us before the big meeting or presentation. We tend to look at the incidents as the cause or source for our state of vibration, but many times it is our vibrations that attract the incidents.

Not all of us are meant to be one of those happy-shiny people who are bouncing off the walls with boundless energy, but each of us does have a positive vibrational groove. We've all experienced that level of harmony before, and with a little effort we can find it, maintain it and even increase it. Like a finely tuned automobile, when our mental and physical energies are in harmony, we hum with personal power.

Change your vibe
Life is probably never going to be easy, but there's no law that states we have to continually add to the chaos and confusion. With a little bit of effort, each and every one of us can be a little better and a little brighter, which will help clear away some of our obstacles or attract what we need to surmount them.

If life isn't going the way you want it to, change it. Put down that never-ending list of everything you have to do, and all the things you don't have for five minutes and simply focus on yourself. Understand that in your life, you are the point of origin - the place where everything begins. Therefore, the vibrations you project are like a magnet, drawing in things of the same frequency. When you truly understand that principle, you will feel a shift in consciousness and your vibrations will begin to change in accordance with that shift.

Words like "can't," "want" and "never" may begin to fade if your quest is one geared toward happiness and improvement. These low frequency words are powerful, particularly in thought, especially if you believe them. They are heavy and limiting, and what they hold down and hold back is your vibrations - the essence of you. Try replacing them with will, can and deserve, and you have just created opportunity rather than obstacle. Believe those words and your vibrations will increase, lighten… and so will you.

A higher frequency
Changing your vibes can be fairly easy, but maintaining that shift may take a little practice. Fortunately, there is opportunity in every thought and every action. Focus on the good things in your life, even when things are tough. Visualize yourself as you want to be. Meditate. Exercise. Recite positive affirmations of your own creation or ones that resonate well with you. Absorb the energy of music that lifts you, pumps you up, or brings you peace. Sing. Dance. These are only a few simple things you can do to raise your frequency, but with consistent and conscious effort, you will be able to measure your improvement and success.

Our perceptions not only influence, but also create our realities. Like a ripple caused by throwing a pebble into water, the vibes we send expand and touch others just as their vibes are flowing and seeking us. Some moments in life seem so perfect. Even though those moments pass, their vibrations can remain. Surround yourself with the people and things that you love and make you feel good and consciously project the same.
