The Disney images were 'doctored' to match the Royal Wedding, though... Snopes mentioned it. The hair and dresses were different colours in the original, uniform changed, etc.
Miki
My daughter sent it to me; I didn't check it out on snopes. It was fun to look at, though.

This was not like a virus type thing. It was meant to be funny and that is how I
look at it. I still think it is hilarious.

It's nice that people enjoy it or get a laugh. There was no implication
that it was a virus or such - I was just clarifying lest anyone read any
'meaning' into it that doesn't/can't actually exist. Like authors who wrote
about things that later came true, from science fiction to the Titanic, for
example, which *were* genuine..

What are 'cocoa nibs'?
Cacoa nibs are perfectly roasted cocoa beans separated from their husks and broken into small bits. They are the essence of chocolate. Nibs add crunchiness and subtle chocolate flavor to baked goods and savory dishes. They make a great substitute for roasted nuts or chocolate chips, without added sweetness

Thank you, Lady Nighshayde.

body scrub got made up!!!)

Elder's Meditation of the Day

Elder's Meditation of the Day - May 20
"...the sacred ceremonies given to us by the Creator are the Heart of our existence. These ceremonies are our first duty."
-- Traditional Circle of Elders. NORTHERN CHEYENNE
Hidden in the ceremonies are many truths, many principles, many guidelines for living â" our access to the Unseen World, healing and visions. Because the Indian People didn't have schools or books, the Great Spirit gave us Ceremonies. The ceremonies are handed down from generation to generation to learn their meaning. Today, many Indian People live in cities or urban areas where it's hard to learn the ceremonies. We need to go to the Elders and learn the ceremonies so we can pass them on to our children.
Great Spirit, teach me the Secrets of the Ceremonies.

The Wonderful World of Scrying

Good article. Very informative.

The Wonderful World of Scrying
The Wonderful World of Scrying
Also called crystallomancy, scrying is a technique used by seers, psychics, and sorcerers. Using crystals and gemstones in the divination of one's past, present, and future traditionally played a key role in the decision-making process of many powerful leaders throughout history, including such notables as King Arthur, who sought out the advice and prophecies of Merlin the Magician, and Queen Elizabeth I, who at times consulted the famous seventeenth century scryer, Dr. Dee, on matters of state.
One of the earliest and most well-known forms of divination, scrying originated from people using reflective surfaces to gain knowledge about the future. One of the earliest uses of crystals and gemstones in scrying comes form the Druids, who used beryl for scrying. Scottish Highlanders termed these objects "stones of power." From this, the early crystal balls were made from beryl, later replaced by spheres made from rock crystal. Prominent in the middle ages, scryers revered their crystal balls, and often passed them on to their apprentices.
Many other cultures around the world traditionally used crystals and gemstones as tools for various forms of scrying. Examples include the diviners of the Yucatan, who placed great reverence on clear stones such as quartz, and Apache medicine men, who used crystals for inducing visions.
Divination, by virtue of its name, is a tool for reaching and communicating with the divine, which means, in a sense, crystals have always been used in communications, just as they are today in radios, telephones and computers. The reason crystals in particular became important tools for scrying is because of their inherent characteristics of transparency and regularity of patterns, called symmetry. Additionally, the energetic fields of crystals and gemstones influence what the scryer sees on a very subtle and often esoteric level.
The following is a basic technique for crystal scrying. Use this as a guide for your own crystal scrying, adapting the procedure where needed. Remember to trust your intuition.
Begin by selecting a stone which refracts light well, and feels physically and psychically comfortable to you. Once you've chosen a stone for scrying, clear it out by using the cleaning steps outlined in Chapter Three. Once cleared, the crystal can be used as is or charged with energy, before using it to scry. Traditionally, scrying stones and spheres were never exposed to sunlight because this was thought to hinder their ability to connect and communicate with the psychic mind, and in turn, the divine. However, moonlight was often used with the full moon being a perfect time to charge your scrying crystal with the energy of moon. Chapter Five provides a complete explanation and step-by-step instructions for charging stones with moonlight.
Seven Steps for Crystal Scrying:
1. Scrying is best when done at night because traditionally night rules the psychic mind. Find a quiet spot, sit comfortably, and place the crystal on a stand, table or hold it in your hands.
2. Candles are conducive to scrying. If you find yourself distracted by the reflections and movements of the flame, then experiment by using other light sources, or try moving the candle until you find what works for you.
3. Now relax by breathing deeply for a few moments with your eyes closed.
4. Upon opening your eyes, hold the crystal in your hands until it is warm. Many scryers say this is important because this step connects your energy to that of the stone. Heating the stone also activates it.
5. While holding the stone, think about what your intentions are for scrying. Examples of intention might be information regarding your career, relationship, or future. Be clear about your intention.
6. Next, place the stone back in its resting place or continue holding in your hands, and then begin gazing into the crystal.
7. As you gaze deeply into the crystal, move your mind beyond the physical structure of the stone, merging into the light within. The idea is not so much to see physical images, but instead to use the crystal and the light reflecting in it as a tool to connect to the divine energy within yourself and all things. When connected, you will begin getting impressions and insights. Practice this technique, particularly merging with the crystal, until everything flows and feels comfortable to you.

Heaven Can Wait

Heaven can wait: Prophet's non-profit staff expects to work Monday
Osvaldo Colon tells New Yorker the world will end this May 21, Judgment Day. According to a forecast by Oakland, Calif.-based Harold Camping, believers will be whisked off to heaven.

Many of Harold Camping's employees don't believe that the rapture will take place on May 21 as he has predicted, CNNMoney reports. A receptionist at his Family Radio non-profit estimates that about 80% of her co-workers don't agree with Camping's May 21 belief, the story says.
But not even all of his own employees are convinced that the world is ending on Saturday. In fact, many still plan on showing up at work on Monday.
"I don't believe in any of this stuff that's going on, and I plan on being here next week," a receptionist at their Oakland headquarters told CNNMoney.
A program producer in Illinois told us, "We're going to continue doing what we're doing."
The report says the non-profit requested an extension from their July 15 deadline to November 15 for their paperwork in Minnesota, one of the states where they solicit donations.
Camping says the rapture -- where believers will be taken to heaven -- will happen Saturday. Even though "end of the world may 21st" has been a Google trending topic this week, Camping suggests the end of the world will take place Oct. 21.
Camping does not take his own salary, CNNMoney says, but the non-profit employed about 350 people and paid $8.3 million in salaries (about $23,000 per person) in 2009. The IRS filings don't show more recent donations and expenses leading up to the May 21 Judgment Day prediction.
The Contra Costa Times on its website, reporting that donations have been up recently, posts the 2009 IRS documents:
The Oakland-based non-profit has raised more than $100 million over the past seven years, according to tax returns. It owns 66 radio stations across the globe and was worth more than $72 million in 2009.
As The End nears, donations have spiked, a board member says, enabling Family Radio to spend millions of dollars on more than 5,000 billboards.
Others are quick to make a buck off the prediction, Reuters reports.
If May 21 is occasion for prayers among Camping and his followers, it's cause for humor and money-making for others.
At online retailer Zazzle.com, hip entrepreneurs are selling everything from T-shirts to coffee mugs and mouse pads emblazoned with the May 21 date and such slogans as "I survived Judgment Day" and "I survived the rapture."
Camping's calculation has been dismissed by many Christians, including Tim LaHaye of the Left Behind book series fame. Camping said a rapture would happen in 1994 and then recalculated his prediction.
What do you think of rapture predictions? Do you have plans for Saturday?

Oh Goddess! If I thought about these sorts of things my brain would explode!
My plans for tomorrow are the same as every other day - drag my Fibro butt out of bed. Open the blinds, let bunnies out of their cages, take care of my immediate needs, start coffee, feed cats, go out on the step for coffee and a smoke, feed bunnies. Then wait to see what the rest of the day brings.
Meanwhile - if the world comes to an end ~~~~~~~
oh well................. ......  :)

Enjoying a Snailâs Pace
Doing Things Slowly
Take time to slow down, rushing never gets you anywhere but on to the next activity or goal.
Life can often feel like itâs zipping by in fast forward. We feel obliged to accelerate our own speed along with it, until our productivity turns into frenzied accomplishment. We find ourselves cramming as much activity as possible into the shortest periods of time. We disregard our natural rhythms because it seems we have to just to keep up. In truth, rushing never gets you anywhere but on to the next activity or goal.
Slowing down allows you to not only savor your experiences, but also it allows you to fully focus your attention and energy on the task at hand. Moving at a slower place lets you get things done more efficiently, while rushing diminishes the quality of your work and your relationships. Slowing down also lets you be more mindful, deliberate, and fully present. When we slow down, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to reacquaint ourselves to our natural rhythms. We let go of the âfast forwardâ stress, and allow our bodies to remain centered and grounded. Slowing down is inherent to fully savoring anything in life. Rushing to take a bath can feel like an uncomfortable dunk in hot water, while taking a slow hot bath can be luxuriant and relaxing. A student cramming for a test will often feel tired and unsure, whereas someone who really absorbs the information will be more confident and relaxed. Cooking, eating, reading, and writing can become
pleasurable when done slowly. ! Slowing down lets you become more absorbed in whatever it is you are doing. The food you eat tastes better, and the stories you read become more alive.
Slowing down allows you to disconnect from the frenzied pace buzzing around you so you can begin moving at your own pace. The moments we choose to live in fast forward motion then become a conscious choice rather than an involuntary action. Learning to slow down in our fast-moving world can take practice, but if you slow down long enough to try it, you may surprise yourself with how natural and organic living at this pace can be.
