Skywatcher888 ~ The Flow is a weekly astrological blog to share with

Posted by: "kalypsokrystal" kalypsokrystal@yahoo.com   kalypsokrystal

Sun Oct 9, 2011 9:58 am (PDT)

Last week I added the blog to the groups links, today is the newest update, please check it out.

The Flow! Venus Also Rises edition, October 9 - 15, 2011 is now available at http://skywatcher888.wordpress.com/

This week is all about magnificent Venus, not quite yet visible after sunset, but soon to grace us with her radiant beauty from now until next Spring in the evening sky. We are in for a treat!

This Saturday, she entered Scorpio and changes nature as different as a light bonbon is to h...eavy bourbon.

Plus, who knew? Both Venus and the Earth dance around the zodiac in near perfect pentagrams!

Mid-week is apt to be a bit challenging both with the Full Moon on Tuesday and a bunch of aspects on Thursday not least of which is a come-to-Jesus Sun-Saturn conjunction for which we are prompted to take care of our duties and responsibilities.

All this and more in the Daily Details!

I bought this movie years ago when it first came out. What
annoyed me about it, is that Scott ran through ingredients so
fast. I slowed down the movie and made a list of the herbs on
my computer. Now when I show the movie to friends, I give them
print outs with the ingredients on them. The movie is good but
Scott seems to be aloof because he doesn't give quantities. It
is his contention that being a "guru' that he can't divulge the
secrets. I think that this is BS and he should care more about
his followers.

I know it does not bode well to speak ill of the dead, but I
think that he is like so many present authors that think that
they need to keep secrets or they may be found lacking.

Oh, well, B*B, Don

Today's Goddess:  Ra'i Ra'i White Sunday (Samoa)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Oct 9, 2011 7:58 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess:  Ra'i Ra'i
White Sunday (Samoa)

Themes:  Children; Youthfulness; Recreation; Play; Joy; Fairies
Symbols: Sunlight; White or Pastel-Yellow Items

About Ra'i Ra'i: In Polynesia, Ra'i Ra'i is the Goddess of unbridled happiness and
sunshine, lighting the way for truly joyful living.  When Ra'i Ra'i came to earth to mother the first humans, she brought with her tiny
frolicsome fairies who lived in the elements, often playing with people
and watching over nature.

To Do Today:  Follow Samoan tradition and wear white to inspire your inner child,
then go enjoy the children in and around your life. In this part of the
world, the entire day is dedicated to children and activities to promote their delight.

Go for a nature walk
and look for signs of Ra'i Ra'i's fairy friends.  Small circles of
mushrooms, a ring of trees, the sound of tiny bells all indicate the fey are nearby watching you!

Get outside and allow
this Goddess's warm light into your body through the sun today.  If the
weather isn't cooperating, wear any golden or pastel-yellow items today
as a type of color therapy to inspire Ra'i Ra'i's youthful energy
within. Definitely take time to do something frisky today.  If there's a recreational activity you enjoy, go play!  This invokes Ra'i Ra'i's
happiness and pleases this goddess greatly.

New Home Cleansing Ritual

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Oct 9, 2011 8:08 pm (PDT)

New Home Cleansing Ritual
Incense of the day: Chrysanthemum

Whether your home is a new apartment or a new house, you should clean it not
just with soap and water, but also in a spiritual way. To start, smudge
the home. For this, I prefer a sage and lavender smudge. Visualize warm
thoughts of how you will spend time here with your family and friends.
To ground and clear the home, use a mix of pine needles, mint leaves,
salt, crushed cedar shavings, and lavender buds to sprinkle on the
floors and carpets. Leave this mixture in place for twenty-four hours
before sweeping and vacuuming, and you will draw out negativity. As soon as you are finished vacuuming, dump the bag to rid the house of any
energies from the previous residents. Next, steep a handful of dried
burdock (Arctium lappa) in water and wash your floors with this to
purify, protect, and ward off negativity. Sinks, drains, and toilets
benefit by mixing lavender oil and salt with water and allowed to stand
over night before rinsing.

Ovid, Metamorphoses

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Oct 9, 2011 8:10 pm (PDT)

All this time the Goddess, struck with grief,
had been looking for her daughter. Nothing
stopped her. In the dew-drenched dawn
she sought, and in the darkness too.
She lit her torches from volcanic fire
and walked through frost and night,
searching and searching, not stopping
when day smiled and cloaked the stars,
but searching, searching, not even stopping
to wet her lips at a clear fountain.
~Ovid, Metamorphoses

At this time of year in ancient Greece, women celebrated several important festivals to the
corn mother Demeter - called Ceres by the Romans, the Goddess who gave
us the word "cereal." At the full moon in October, the Stenia was
celebrated, with all-night dancing on the moonlit seashore. Such night
rituals are common to other goddesses, especially the huntress-maiden
Artemis, to whom each full moon was dedicated.

Like the moon, the
earth moves through a predictable cycle. At this point, the northern
hemisphere is clearly dipping into the darker portion of the year. And
this is the time when the ancient tale was told and retold of how the
goddess lost her only daughter, and how she blighted the earth in her
grief. Our hearts endure many winters. Dreams are lost, and loved ones,
and possessions, and dear pets. Like the goddess, we mourn and grieve.
And each time, we lose our faith that spring - that hope - will  ever
grow again. Yet each year, spring returns. Each dark time has its
ending. Light will come again.
