Yes, Graham,

The Witches from Rockbitch are somewhat unknown in Pagan circles, from what
I can gather. I only discovered them accidently while watching SBS one time
a few years ago and I was just amazed. I think because they are a mixture of
musicians, performance artists, Third Wave feminists, Witches, sex
magicians, Tantric Dakinis, and communal living lesbians (some bisexuals
with the occasional man sexual partner). and *just really hard core*. and
obviously don't tend to do the rounds of the Pagan Festival. that they are
just really not that well known.

(Did you notice how they tend to keep their shoes on in rituals?)

group before, but after looking at their Ritual and Craft pics, my
impression is that they really are taking their Craft to very high levels -
especially as there would be other things going on apart from what one can
see in the pics - such as chanting, dancing and other dynamics - this would
raise incredibly high levels of energy. The preparation, siting and content
of some of the rituals is also pretty amazing.

Errr... I'm 99% sure there aint a gym sneaker in sight! :)

But more seriously, one thing they make me think of are the fearsome Dionysian Maenads of Ancient Greece... I'm wondering if they might base their Craft practices on any historical/mythological/traditional models? Just thinking out aloud there...

I first saw them on Taboo.They were banned in britain so toured europe now banned there too.They would pick a man from the audience and take him back stage for some,"fun"?

Yes they are indeed visual..but as far as I am concerned is that
the music is really not very good.. there is not a real good muso amongst
any of em...
Well John from what I have just read about this group is that it
disbanded in 2002
apparently *if what I have just read is correct* they grabbed either a
female or a male from the
audience for those back stage funnings..
