They are wearing a variety of shoes in the Horned God ritual - high heels,
boots, others . I just thought it was eccentric to be wearing shoes in a
ritual, while skyclad - unless one is outside on prickly ground of course.

But more seriously, one thing they make me think of are the fearsome
Dionysian Maenads of Ancient Greece... I'm wondering if they might base
their Craft practices on any historical/mythological/traditional models?
Just thinking out aloud there...

MM and thanks for pointing that out Caroline.

Actually I had another look and did notice some boots and moccasins being worn e.g. The Imbolc Ritual with the spiral and egg. My first thoughts are that maybe it could be something to do with energy direction - magnifying the energy link with the egg and not the ground??? Or maybe as you said, perhaps the ground was just darn prickly :)

However, all being said, I definitely do get the feeling that this group was very well informed, dedicated and led. Their creativity is inspiring, and they have been very generous to enable others to see and learn about things rarely revealed...

I did a Samhain performance ritual with three of them in London in 2002 , though they used the title 'Sex Priestesses of the Bawder' because they weren't playing their music (which I haven't actually heard):
