Time for Learning

It is time now to broaden your knowledge… be it on a particular
subject of interest… be it a craft or hobby or be it learning more
about the people around you … take the time to increase your knowing.

Take time to listen to the stories of other people's lives.

Take time to learn more about the world around you…

Take time to understand things you thought you already understood.

There is more to know than what you think is obvious. There is the
underlying truth beyond what you see. Open yourself up to
understanding with all of your senses and you will find there is so
much more to know. There will be an understanding that you did not
even realize existed.

There will be some that understand this message fully and then there
will be those who just don't get it. Which are you?

Many Blessings,
Raventalker

Today's Goddess: HSI HO  Li'Chun (China)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon Feb 6, 2012 6:51 pm (PST)

Today's Goddess: HSI HO
Li'Chun (China)

Themes: Spring; Harvest; Luck; Divination; Hope; Weather
Symbols: Water Buffalo; Bear

About Hsi Ho: Hsi Ho is the
Chinese mother of the sun, who stretches out her son's golden arms to
warm and revitalize both the earth and its people. In Chinese mythology, Hsi Ho bathes her child each morning in the eastern-shore lake so he
can shine brightly through the day, strengthening hope and discernement. Her sacred animals are the water buffalo and the bear, both of which
represent spring.

To Do Today: Li'Chun
literally means "spring is here." What better time to remember Hsi Ho
and her gift of sunlight? Take out a yellow candle bathe it with a
fragrant oil, then light it for a day filled with Hsi Ho's clarity. Or
carry a yellow-colored stone (zircon is ideal) for astuteness.

In China, people light a candle today and
thank the star under which they were born. This candle can represent Hsi Ho, mother to the morning star. According to tradition, if you try this and the flame burns brightly, it indicates good luck in the coming
months. Should the flame spark, it portends important news or a visitor. A flame that smolders or dies out is a negative omen.  Also make a note of what the first person you meet today wears. A hat
indicates rain, shoes reveal downpours throughout the spring and summer, warm clothing portends a cold year ahead, and light clothing foretells
warm weather.

Daily Aromatherapy Tip   - Aromatherapy Massage

Daily Aromatherapy Tip   - Aromatherapy Massage

An aromatherapy massage is probably the most effective method of relieving stress, anxiety, tension and insomnia. Some oils to
choose from are Rose, Lavender, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Neroli and Chamomile. Use up to a total of 15 drops of selected essential oils
to
1 oz. carrier oil. Try Sweet Almond or Fractionated Coconut oil which
won't stain sheets or clothing. You can do this at home easily.
For self treatment massage hands, feet ( especially important)   arms and legs (use long strokes and work towards the heart).

Floral Awakening

Floral Awakening
by Karen Hegre

Embrace the miracle of spring's renewal...let it take you along a garden
path that leads to awakening. Surround yourself with fragrant,
pastel-hued flowers! Rejoice with the scent, hue and texture of flowers.
I absolutely love this time of the year! Tomorrow is the first day of
spring and to me the following says it best:
"Tis like the birthday of the world,
When earth was born in bloom;
The light is made of many dyes,
The air is all perfume;
There's crimson buds,
and white and blue...
The very rainbow showers
Have turned to blossoms where they fell,
And sown the earth with flowers."
~ Thomas Hoods

Awaken your senses by surrounding yourself with a bouquet of floral
accents. Freshen the air with jasmine perfume, sip a blend of
floral-flavored tea and enjoy the scent of a jasmine topiary.

Are you having 'spring guests'? Delight them, or yourself, with a basket
of fluffy towels scented with a linen spray. Be aware of Nature's beauty
and indulge yourself with fragrant flowers...Her most precious perfumes.

To make visitors, and yourself, feel very special, leave a basket
brimming with plush towels in the bathroom. Enclose a bottle of jasmine
linen spray to freshen and scent the towels. To make the spray, simply
add 6 drops jasmine essential oil to four ounces distilled water. Pour
the mixture into a spray bottle and tuck into the basket of towels. Add
a sprig of fresh jasmine, if available. The spray also makes a
wonderful, effective room freshener.

Jasmine in a Jar:
To one cup boiling water, add four packages unflavored gelatin and two
tablespoons salt. Stir until dissolved. Remove from heat. Add 15 drops
jasmine oil and one drop food coloring. Pour into a jar and cover with
plastic wrap; let set overnight. Remove plastic, place a doily over jar
and set on table to use as an air freshener. The scent will last for
about two weeks.

Jasmine Eau De Toilette:
For a beautifully scented toilette water, pour the following ingredients
into a glass bottle and shake well; Three fourths cup citrus-flavored
vodka, one fourth cup orange blossom water and six drops jasmine
essential oil. Allow to steep for one week before use. This eau de
toilette is deliciously fragrant and pleasant to use.

White Stars Topiary:
Entwined in an imaginative shape, a jasmine vine creates a perfect
topiary. Place the jasmine plant in a terra-cotta pot and insert the
round wire topiary form....gently wrap vine around the wire until it's
covered completely. Water well and trim occasionally, shaping as you go.

Jasmine Tea:
Enjoy a delicious tea blend made with one cup black tea leaves and two
cups fresh jasmine flowers. Scoop a one inch layer of tea leaves into a
jar; place a one inch layer of jasmine flowers on top. Alternate layers
until all ingredients are used. Secure lid on jar; let jasmine permeate
tea leaves for a few days, then remove flowers from loose tea by hand.
To use, add one teaspoon tea to one cup hot water; let steep a few
minutes.

Jasmine essential oil has an exotic fragrance, making it a popular
choice for perfumes and colognes. Because of its softening effect, the
oil is often found in skin-care products. Jasmine oil is used to relieve
depression, tension, fear and listlessness.

Venous   ~Horace

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

My lover's skin glows like the finest marble,
and I burn to touch it. I burn with the teasing
dance of her glances, I am on fire, I am aflame,
I cannot think of anything but love.

Venus has abandoned her island shrine at Cypress
to live with my heart. The goddess will hear nothing
but songs of love now, she will endure no music to stir
the blood toward war, adventure, or anything but love.

Friends, build a green altar right here, and lay me down
upon it. Place sacred branches all around my body,
and bowls of wine, and wand of incense. I am already
a victim of love, a sacrifice to Venus. Now let her hear
my plea!

 ~Horace

In our times, love is
no longer the great ruler of the cosmos but merely a servant of
commerce. Sex is used to sell everything from automobiles to zoom
lenses. Women's bodies are no longer temples of the goddess, but
products used to sell other products. Venus is no longer ruler in her
own temple, much less in our hearts; Moneta, goddess of money, rules
instead.

Love poems like that of the great poet Horace can seem, in this context, overblown and
overstated. To make oneself a sacrifice for love? isn't that a bit much? Isn't that making love more important than it should be?

But our foremothers
knew what is often hidden from us: that love is the glue thatholds the
universe together. Not simply sexual love, although thatpowerful force
binds people at a deep level. The love of parents for children, teachers for students, friends for each other - these relationships are not just human connections. They participate in and reflect the great network of connectedness that is our magnificent universe. By placing the goddess
of love once again on the throne of our hearts, we can connect with the
great force that sweeps through us and binds us to each other and the
cosmos. To sacrifice ourselves for love means, in this context, to
finally become whole.

WELCOME FEBRUARY SNOW FULL MOON....Ice Moon, Storm Moon, or Wild Moon, this is a time for growth and future plans, purification, cleansing, healing,
self-love, and acceptance.

Full Snow Moon - February Since the
heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the
north and east most often called February's full Moon the Full Snow
Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon,
since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very
difficult.Imbolc is a time of change, a time to throw out all bad things in our
lives esp things we started and failed at, this is a time to wipe the
slate clean, make plans and prepare to start all over, and use what we
learned by failing to make another go at it better. Finances are just
that, we don't need everything to be happy just ourselves and those we
love! Sometimes we have to let things go to be happy.

And Welcome Full Snow Moon!

It's also the Full Moon, a great time to work on Banishing negative

Many years ago when Lisa was only 22, she bagan to open up to this wonderful, Magickal way of life. Never kid yourself, this path is not easy, but the rewards considerably outweigh the strife.
She began by working with crystals and studying the Old Ways. Then major doorways began to open (like Tiphereth), and she awakened to many other divination tools which allowed her to help others on their way. The Tarot seems to have been the tool that is the most direct and precise for her, but she does use and teach about many other useful esoteric tools..."
