Re: National Geographic are looking for a family of witches

Flashback to one of the most memorable of scenes from 90s movie "The Craft". The four teen 'witches' go out on a nature adventure; as they are getting off the bus, in-the-middle-of-nowhere, the driver says, "Watch out for the weirdos, girls." The spirited young goth, Nancy quips, "We are the weirdos, mister."

I think that the production team, as Bill and Sunbird suggest, are looking for something a little off the beaten track, something a little kooky. And let's face it, the practice of witchcraft and magick, by the standards of the 'average' Aussie, is a little kooky. The Beyond team, are I think, really looking for an Addams Family.

The pagans who appeared in Beyond's previous project, "Taboo", while given a fair hearing, did not really come across in the best light. Television has got to be the most difficult of all public media. It relies so heavily on the visual to express the message. I'd estimate a good 80% of the message is in the image. Get that wrong and your audience will dismiss anything important you might have to say.

I've done my fair share of these sorts of programs, as well as live interviews. After my first nerve-rackingly disastrous experience, I realised I needed a script. So I wrote one; and was very prepared the next time. I didn't want the conversation steering in an entirely unexpected direction. And in my experience, that is highly likely to happen if you haven't done this sort of thing before.

I really think this project requires a public 'Addams' family, one who's life-style is already on record; and one where any negative fall-out is simply in the category of "all publicity" is just what the 'Addams' want. I'd suggest the Osbourne's, but it's already been done.

Greetings Sunbird.

I agree absolutely!

Described simply as "the last 3 minutes of 14-the square of Un" this is the magickal performance Arte of Noko. Noko is a collaboration of the artistry of Barry William Hale performing an Enochian magical rite to the evocative sounds of Scott Barnes, and composed in the videoart of Michael Strum.

This evening I received a new piece from Barry & Noko entitled "3 minutes from the Pal GMSquare working". In this work Barry is depicted inscribing elongated sigils as part of a further Enochian working.

In 2011 Barry and NOKO, participated in a performance of this magickal work for the Adelaide Festival of the Arts. In July this year, Barry and NOKO have again been invited to perform their work, this time at the "Revelations Film Festival" in Perth.

Re: Child sacrificed for harvest

This sort of thing is sad and at first it used to make me mad but now I think the people are so desperate and it is part of their culture. A very dark patch that is very wrong but in some places those are still the beliefs sadly in Papua new guinea those sort of beliefs are very strong and it's not illegal over there. I think we need to understand that a lot of the time culture is the culprit in these sort of poor countries. It doesn't make it better but sometimes I think culture almost turns into instinct.

Re: Modern Paganism's Role in Interfaith

Hmmm I don't know how I stand on this subject fully I have always thought everyone has the right to believe what they wish. I seriously find no reason really for this board because to be honest the Christian want everyone to be christian the Muslims want everyone to be Muslim where is the equality? I mean the Christian bible basically states that we are sinners and should be begging for forgiveness. Sorry I usually am not one to point fingers but I walk down the street and there are people saying "shame on you" I go to uni and there are people telling me my father will burn in hell. I walk down the mall and there are two men quoting the bible.
I have no problem with religion until its shoved in my face.
