Got scissors and a needle and thread or basting tape? Got some sheets you
never use? If the answers are yes, you already have what you need to make
your own robe.
Idk why your hps/hp think you need one, but I know people who swear they
don't work without one, for focus and energy.
Whatever works for you.

Well said Chris... after all, we are our own spiritual authority. Having worked with the ones with no robes, they are indeed the ones that do the most magic.

Peace,
Heather

Maybe one needs to look for another HP and HPS.
The robe don't make the witch. I work with several different circles. It one only the clergy wear robes. Another, only the HP and HPS wears robes. The 3rd, nobody wears a robe and they probably do the most magic.

I wish I had a good answer but one is required to do as their HP & HPS request... or demands.

Are you clergy in the church? If not, why are you required to wear a robe. That's like not being allowed to go to a Christian church without a suit! It doesn't matter what you wear. It matters that you're there and your heart is in it.

Merry Meet,

I am in need of a ritual robe for myself and my wife but I must get one asap for High Priest has told me to get one before returning to ritual. I had been using a simple graduation robe. The problem is while there are many to choose from I simply can not afford the prices that most have on their robes. I am not seeking something for nothing – I do not mind paying a fair price but I may have to pay someone in two or three payments depending on the cost.

Who has an extra one hanging around or willing to make me one to fit a 5ft 7in man that lifts weights?

Dear Oak,

I hope this finds you and
your wife well.

So your H.P. says you can't
come back unless you have a robe that meets his - or the coven's -
standards...o.k., fine. Whatever. (I, myself, can't get my head around it, but
if it makes you happy...I guess...whatever...) Did he mention as to where you
might be able to get them? Is there a coven seamstress? Where did he and
everyone else get theirs? Does he know that money is a bit tight for you and
that you really can't afford it? Did he say what exactly is wrong with what you
have been using? Is it the color or the sleeves or something that might be
easily remedied without having to go and spend good money on items that are a
luxury right now?? Can you or your wife sew?

Be well,

Zenobia

DailyOM - Wisdom of the Owl
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

February 15, 2012
Penetrating the Darkness
Wisdom of the Owl
Owls are patient messengers, bringers of information and the holders of wisdom and capable of seeing the unseen.

For as long as humankind has recognized animals as teachers, wise men and women have recognized traits worthy of respect in both wild and domestic creatures. The cultural and spiritual significance of certain animals transcends geographical boundaries, unifying disparate peoples. Not so the majestic and mysterious owl, which has over many millennia served as the focal point of numerous contradictory beliefs. Though owls have been regarded with awe and fascination, they have also inadvertently served as agents of fear. Since owls are nocturnal, human-owl encounters tended to occur at night and likely when the bird was swooping silently down to earth to grapple with prey. Yet even as some shied away from the owl, calling it an agent of darkness, others recognized the depths of awareness in beautiful owl's eyes.

In the classical Greek tradition, an owl could often be found perched on the shoulder of Athena, goddess of wisdom, while owls could ward off bad luck in Roman lore. It is in Native American mythos, however, that the owl attains its own unique identity. Owls are patient messengers, bringers of information and the holders of wisdom, and they are capable of seeing the unseen. With their keen eyesight, they can glance into the soul to discern meaning and motive, and they are totems of truth. Unlike our distant forebears, we may never encounter an owl in the wild, but we can nonetheless internalize the wisdom of the owl by attuning ourselves to its most venerable qualities. Fully integrating the medicine of the owl into spiritual existence is a matter of considering how we might open ourselves more fully to the wisdom that can be found in the larger universe.

Should you find your efforts blocked as you commune with the owl, remember that it was not always revered as an icon of wisdom. This denizen of the nighttime has overcome many prejudices in its long association with humankind. To reveal those hidden elements of the self that impact your life for better or for worse, you must often make your way through the darkest parts of your soul as if you yourself are the nocturnal hunter. There is indeed darkness both inside the self and outside the self, but like the owl you can transcend it by drawing nourishment from the insights you receive when you penetrate it.

Learning Reiki is a serious commitment.
It is a healing art taught in stages or degrees, that are accompanied by attunements. Each attunement brings about new cleansings and helps us to deal with our Karma. Reiki will help you to love yourself & know yourself on a deeper level.

Reiki differs from other laying on of hands healing because of its use of physical positions to apply the energy over and through the Chakra system. Also, it is different due to the fact that the healer is required to be opened and attuned by the degree process. The opening or attunement process works from the top or Crown chakra downward. The Reiki energy flows in this manner throughout each healing as well.

Reiki is one of the most effective methods we currently have for transferring the energy. Reiki uses life force energy to heal the body, mind and spirit. Sometimes negative energy is caught in the person's etheric body, or the person has a block. In instances like this you can combine your Reiki with crystals and remove the block or negative energy and perform Psychic Surgery on the etheric body or Aura.

Goddess Of The Day: VICTORIA  Victoria's Day (Rome)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:45 pm (PST)

Goddess Of The Day: VICTORIA
Victoria's Day (Rome)

Themes: Victory; Success; Excellence
Symbols: Wings (or feathers); Laurel

About Victoria: Victoria, as her name implies, is the Roman  Goddess of Attainment. Early in the year she inspires resolve within us to do everything we
undertake, with excellence as a goal. In works of art, Victoria is often depicted with wings that allow her to surmount any obstacle or problem.

To Do
Today: Drink a tea made from lemon balm, ginger, and a pinch of cinnamon to generate a successful attitude. Remember: if you think you can, you
can!

Put a bay
leaf (a form of laurel) in your shoe so that Victoria's triumphant
energy can walk with you all day long. Later in the day burn a few bay
leaves on a fire source to fill your home with success. Alternative
aromas that invoke Victoria's favor are rose and red sandlewood.

To make a victory charm, find a feather (or cut paper in the shape of a feather) and empower it with this incantation:

With the wings of Victoria, I will rise
above all areas where trouble lies.
Through diligence and mastery I will see
today begins my victory!

Carry this
token anytime you fell your confidence waning, or when you need a boost
to get over any seemingly insurmountable obstacle.

Winter Blues Banishment

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:45 pm (PST)

Winter Blues Banishment
Incense of the day: Eucalyptus

Winters can be long and spring
can seem far away in February. Confined indoors by the cold and
inhospitable weather, we can become depressed and lethargic. We neglect
ourselves, and leave a dusty and cluttered household. Despite that it
lifts the spirits to clean out all the physical and mental cobwebs, we
still find it hard to do this basic task. To start, simply choose one
room, preferably the room where you spend the most time. Burn some
lavender incense. Smudge the corners of the room and yourself. Then open the blinds or drapes and call out: "Go, snow, go. Come, Sun, come!"
Keep the incense burning, and with your broom walk deosil while sweeping the ceilings. Chant: "Sun and broom, sweep the room. Fill us with
spring perfume." Continue cleaning from top to bottom. When the room is
finished, take a deep breath and fill your lungs with the clean lavender scent. Envision your inner room as clean and full of spring's perfume.

Pine Tree Warrior Goddess Spell

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:46 pm (PST)

Pine Tree Warrior Goddess Spell

One of America's greatest social reformers, and a key feminist icon, Susan
B. Anthony, was born on this day. Her passion for social equality
parallels many of the characteristics attributed to the Warrior Goddess
Diana of ancient Roman mythology. Diana protected those who were less
fortunate. To connect with your own inner warrior goddess, go to a grove of pine trees or place some pine branches on your altar, and say:

"Lady of the fields and trees, I thank you for all the bounty you have brought to me."

Continue with a specific request, then, to finish the spell, give thanks to the warrior goddess by leaving a small gift.
To do so, decorate a pine branch with a silver star, a crescent moon, or an ornament shaped like an arrow.

We Are In Charge Of Our Attitudes!!!

We Are In Charge Of Our Attitudes!!!

We are in charge of our actions.
We cannot change our pasts.
We cannot change the fact that
people will act in a certain way...
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing that we can do is
play on the one thing string we
have and that is our Attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% of what
happens to you and 90% of how you react to it.

And so it is.............
.
COURAGE

Courage looks you straight in the eye. She is not impressed with power trippers, and she knows first aid.
Courage is not afraid to weep, and she is not afraid to pray, even when she is not sure who she is praying to.
When she walks it is clear she has made the journey from loneliness to solitude.
The people who told me she was stern were not lying; they just forgot to mention she was kind.

Ovid, Metamorphoses

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:51 pm (PST)

The flood receded, leaving swamps
where life emerged anew like seeds
sprouting in a mother's womb.
It was just like spring, when peasants
overturn the soil to find a world
of creatures there, as though the earth
itself crept and wriggled and was alive.
Life begins in heat and water,
those apparent opposites that stir
creation. Thus the sun, rising on
the flooded earth, brought forth new life.
 ~Ovid, Metamorphoses

In
the myths of many cultures, the earth is destroyed - often by flood-
and then reborn, re-made. So it was in Greek and Roman mythology, which
told of a great flood that only the woman Pyrrha and her mate Deucalion
survived. Told by an oracle that she would bear children from "the bones
of the mother," Pyrrha figured out that her mother being the earth, the
bones would mean the rock skeleton of the planet. Throwing stones
behind herself, Pyrrha produced an entire new race of humans to
repopulate the earth.

After the destructive flood, the earth
replenished itself anew. Such myths capture the special freshness of
spring, when all seems reborn. In our own lives, too, we will find times
when an order is overturned - a job or love lost, a home transformed -
but new order emerges from the ruin. Trusting in such rebirth is
difficult, but every spring reminds us that renewal is an inevitable
part of life.
