HOW TO THRIVE IN THIS DIFFICULT ECONOMY BY OVERCOMING FEAR

There seems to be a lot of fear going around these days in our personal lives, business lives and just everywhere. The fear mongering media wants to make sure we all stay in fear, because then we lose our power to control our own lives and destiny. Keeping someone in fear is a good way to make them feel powerless and thus, unsuccessful.
 
The definition of Fear: to be afraid or feel anxious or apprehensive about a possible or probable situation or event.
 
First of all, the definition of fear has two key words in it---possible and probable. Notice that the feeling of fear is not over anything concrete, but only the possible or probable. It is something that may happen or may not, so in reality it is about something that is NOT REAL. This is important to understand, when we look at some universal principles to apply to our lives and businesses.
 
Another concept we want to understand about fear is that it is a feeling about something that is NOT REAL. It is only a feeling, which we have complete control over. Did we get that! It is just a feeling and if we shift our focus, we can change it in the snap of a moment. It is not permanent or set in concrete, it is simply a feeling.
 
When we are in fear, what we fear seems very real to us, but it has NOT happened, it is NOT REAL. I am not sure if you realize how important this is. We are not facing something that has really happened to us, we are just hoping that somehow that which is NOT REAL will not happen to us and become real.
 
To sum it up, fear is only a feeling about nothing that is real. When we look at fear this way, what I hope is that it makes it so small and insignificant and shows YOU HOW POWERFUL YOU ARE OVER IT.
 
This is the deal; we all have responsibility, control and power over our lives. Another thing the media and the standard attitude in our society promote is that everything is someone else's fault and we are just victims of it. This is a very disempowering position to live in and as a business owner, you will be constantly at the whim of whatever and never able to succeed in your business with that attitude. Successful business people understand their creative power, their responsibility for their lives and destiny and never feel like a victim and never live in fear. They take it one step at a time and always know there is a solution to any real problem and never worry or are afraid of any "possible or probable" situation.
 
So let's look at three universal principles and then some facts about fear:
 
1. Whatever you fear will come to you. This is a universal principle that whatever we fear WILL INDEED come to us. So if there is something that we fear may happen, it will happen BECAUSE we are fearing it. So in essence with a fearing approach, you have created and made real the very thing you did not want to happen. So the thing that was a feeling about nothing real, just created reality, because of this universal law. Again, the beauty of this is that we can simply choose to not fear. We have all the power and can completely change this feeling and create a positive reality.
2. What you resist, persists. Another universal principle is whatever you resist, will persist. We see this everyday in every way of life. If we want something to continue, all we have to do is resist it. It is amazing the difference in our lives when we take responsibility for it without judgment, quit resisting, and instead flow with things. We will have answers, things will work out and life just goes a whole lot better. Try it and see if you don't find life a lot less stressful and you find that things are just going so much better. When I say don't resist, this means that you embrace it, acknowledge it as it is, without judgment (judgment is a form of resistance), let it be and you be with it. Get into accepting it as it is and just wait and see if it just does not transmute into what you really want. The beautiful thing about this is that this works on everything in life: business, personal, physical, spiritual.
3. Whatever you focus on, expands: This is called the Law of Increase and it is a universal principle. So if we focus on negative, lack or fear, those will increase. If we focus on positive, prosperity and success, those will increase. Whether we believe this universal law or not, we use it everyday. So to have expand what you want, shift your focus, it is that simple. We do not have to struggle for days, weeks or months, just simply shift your focus and see if the positive expands, rather than the negative.
Now let's look at some concepts about fear:
 
1. Fear is a form of resistance: This is why what you fear will come to you, because fear is a form of resistance. So whatever you resist, will persist.
2. Fear freezes you into paralysis by analysis. When we are fearing, we will most times end up analyzing a situation to death, because we are so afraid to move and make a decision. The silly thing about this is that the whole thing is simply an emotion about something that is not real and may not even happen. Then when we finally make a decision, it was the most cautious and disempowering choice we could have made and it will usually create the very thing we did not want to happen and feared in the first place.
3. Fear limits us from seeing any new ideas, we just get stuck and start going in a downward spiral: When we are in fear, we are so narrow focused, that we are not open to new ideas and ways to solve real problems. Again whatever we focus on, that is what expands or increases and so we just get ourselves deeper and deeper in the same hole.
4. Fear can cause exaggeration on what is completely in your mind, skewing your vision: Fear takes something that is NOT REAL and in your perception makes it a Godzilla in your life, looming over you and scaring you. IT IS NOT REAL, don't let it have power over you. Shift your focus!
5. Decisions out of fear will always lead to lack, poverty, and be destructive: Because of the two principles of what you focus on, expands and what you resist, persists, fear will always lead to lack, poverty and self-destructive decisions and behavior.
6. Fear makes it so you cannot see reality: Fear gets in the way of what is REAL. It makes what is NOT REAL so big, that you can't see reality in front of you.
7. Fear drains you for no reason: On top of all this, fear causes a great deal of stress, and just simply drains you of your ability to cope and solve any real problems.
So the principles listed in #1-3 are the answers to addressing fear. It is not complicated really. Real truth is often times the simplest of things and is amazingly easy for every human being to do and be. That is one of the most beautiful things about these universal truths that we are talking about here, EVERYONE can and does use them every day without fail, but we usually use them to our own detriment unconsciously, when we can just as easily use them to our own benefit consciously.
 
In writing this article, I thought of many practical ways to help change things in your businesses to help with this time in our economy, but those will not help you, if you are unconsciously creating all the negative, so that is why I have written this article the way I have. All we need to do is open our eyes, open our hearts, be grateful, which will help us to focus on the positive, which will expand, and help us to not resist, causing the things we consider "negative" to persist.
 
I would challenge you to find everything you can in your life and business that you can be grateful for, write them down and review your list daily. Even look for things that you are grateful for in some of what you might consider the "negative" situations. You will be amazed at the perspective change you will experience. The main key in this gratitude process is to FEEL the gratitude, not just recite it in your head. Every day read your list that you are grateful for and FEEL the gratefulness for each item.
 
So let's open our eyes, see the fear mongering media and its many lies for what they are, and let's redirect our focus and our sights to a place of gratefulness that will actually change our economy around one person and one company at a time!

Happy Holidays,
 
This has been a challenging year for many across the globe.  It has also been a year where unity has been seen and felt, as many neighbors, volunteers and people throughout the nation have come forward to give hope to those going through difficult times.      Ultimately, we all feel the pangs of life's low points, and can often times feel heavy when we cannot disengage from the toxicity of life's challenges.      It is an honor to be in this profession of holistic healing and give hope to people going through their challenges, and healing of the mind, body and spirit.      This past year, the Holistic Mentorship Network (HMN) was recognized as a 501(c)(6) trade association for the holistic profession.  This status, given by the IRS, gives us the ability to lobby on behalf of our members, and our industry.  Meaning, it gives us the ability to give credibility to a profession that provides health care naturally.  It also gives us the ability
to bring the holistic healing profession together, to feel the support of an organization that listens, and has your back.      As you would guess, running this organization takes more than one person sitting behind a desk making decisions.  It takes an army of right minded leaders to navigate the course, so we can and will work toward a health care system that works for everyone.      We recently obtained a new member who lives on the west coast, whose background is strong in business, marketing and finance.  Her interest in our organization came from her own personal experience with holistic healing for herself, and then a desire to help an industry that struggles with the business aspects of sharing their gifts.    Lynda Jamysen is her name, and I for one, am thrilled to have her on our marketing team, and on the west coast.  One of the challenges I believe our industry faces, is the fact that we are a business, and therefore need to
operate as such. 
 
Most of us, including myself, would much rather not be bothered with the business end, as it gets in my way of doing what I love to do. I would rather spend all my time sharing my gifts, than dealing with the business side of sharing those gifts. In my practice, it is helping people feel good and empowered.  With HMN, it is about connecting holistic professionals together, mentoring, educating and providing tools/resources for the holistic health care professionals, so they can grow their businesses, reaching far more people, thus bringing more healing to our planet and raising all of us to a place of higher consciousness. This then makes holistic health care a major part of health care today.      Business and marketing are keys to any businesses success, and as I have grown through the years of the birth of the Holistic Mentorship Network, there have been times when I needed to embrace change that would make a positive impact in my future.  I
have discovered that change often times brings challenges, but always gifts for the better. Together with Lynda Jamysen, and the HMN board, we have revised our vision and mission statements.  I believe they encompass all that I am, and all that I hope for you, our clients and the future of health care. Please join me in embracing our new vision & mission statements:    Our Visionis to transcend to higher consciousness through compassionate and loving healing of the individual.  
 
Our Missionis to raise the consciousness of our planet through natural forms of healing by educating the world- one person at a time- about Holistic Health Care; mentoring and growing the businesses of the Holistic Health Care Professional; and establishing credibility, strength and momentum in the Holistic Health Care movement.
 
As we move into the new year it is our intention to listen, to keep you informed and with the board, make wise decisions to protect our industry from legislation that could affect natural healing and well-being.  
 
We will also be applying for our 501(c)(3) non-profit status under education.  My vision includes the opening of Retreat Centers for holistic health care professionals, and Holistic Clinics nationwide.  As you can see, my vision is vast, but with your help, we can manifest a health care system that takes care of our caretakers, and those in need who desire natural health care services.  
 
By way of comment, the reason we are going to create retreat centers for the health care professional is because we feel you matter and count and need healing as well. I personally know how easy it is to forget myself in the midst of healing others. This is a part of the mission, to help take care of you, the holistic health care professional as well.
 
So I hope you join us in OUR MISSION, as it will take a coming together of like minded individuals with an interest in holistic medicine to stand together for healing of the world -one person at a time-and thus taking all of us to a place of higher consciousness together. 
 
Entrainment is the key to health, happiness and joy in our world. All healing comes from within each of us. As we each heal from within, we will impact the world to make the changes in health care and consciousness on our precious planet.

About Xi
Hou: As the Chinese mother of the sun, this goddess joins our
festivities today to celebrate her child's rebirth. Each morning, Xi Hou diligently bathes one of ten suns in the lake of creation so it can shine in purity, and then she puts it on top of the trees, where it's received by a dragon chariot that moves the sun across the sky.
 
To Do
Today: Consider following Chinese custom, and rejoice in the solstice by gathering in the kitchen with your housemates and leaving offerings of chopsticks, oranges, incense, and candles for unity and long life
for all those gathered. Open a curtain to let the sunlight flood in, then thank Xi Hou for her child and its warmth. Also, at some point during
the day, enjoy some Oriental-style dumplings (dim sum) for kinship.
 
Among the
favorite activities today are weather prophecies. Go outside and see
what direction the wind is coming from. An east wind portends trouble, west winds indicate the ripening of an effort or a good grain crop,
south winds counsel watching your money, as the harvest will be poor (don't invest in crop shares!), and north winds foretell bounty. Red clouds
reveal that your personal energy will wane and droughts may follow,
black clouds predict floods, yellow clouds precede prosperity and abundant crops, and white clouds reveal arguments or wars.

The Yule Log, Symbolic of the New , Bright, Shining, Son/Sun

Death is always fallowed by rebirth. endings are fallowed by
beginnings, just as the Sun precedes the Moon.
 
In Roman tradition, December 25 was "Dies Natalis Solis Invictus" or
the Day of the Birth of the Undefeated Sun.
 
In ancient times of lands such as Ireland, on or about the date of
December 21or the Winter Solstice, was the time the Son/Sun comes back
to Earth. Many customs surround these 2 dates, one of which is the
burning of the Yule fire.

Nordic Pagans regard Yule as the New Year , coinciding with the Solar
year . ( Samhain coincides with the Lunar year)

Yule marks the succession from the Holly King, who is the king of the
Waning year, to the Oak King, who is the king of the  Waxing year/
It symbolizes the rebirth of the God to the Virgin Goddess.

Yule is a Lesser Sabbat and is a Sun Sabbat.
 
 In earliest times this tradition , the Yule fire was a bonfire burned
out doors. The sacred blaze was built to give power and life to the sun, among
other things. Burning a Yule log not only gives out warmth against the winter cold,
but it is said to posses the power to burn off the misfortune of the ending year and
to bring good health and prosperity, protection, fertility, and good fortune in the year to come.

Traditionally a log  of Oak, but may be made of any good, hard wood,
available to you. It was carved with images of the blazing sun to encourage the return
of the Son/Sun, or Divine Child of Light, The God. It was also carved with other symbols
representing plenty, prosperity, fertility, wealth and love.

The Yule log was decorated with whipped bees wax that had been scented
with bayberries ( or bay berry wax if available) to bring good fortune throughout
the year to come. Sprigs of evergreens, considered sacred and representing the Eternal
aspect of the Goddess, were added as a traditional symbol of life everlasting.
Holly leaves , which are representative of The  Holy King,  symbolic of death and to guard
the household against evil spirits and symbolic of  the promise of ongoing life.

Oak Leaves and acorns to represent the Oak King, and symbolic of
rebirth and  of all things living within both the material and spirit world
(the Oak tree is host to mistletoe plant); The white berries and leaves of
the Mistletoe ( also known as The  Golden Bough)for fertility and symbolic
of the sacred seed of the God who embodies the spirit of vegetation and divine life;
 fruits and grains or other seeds to celebrate the past harvest and
the hope for a good harvest in the new year. Other item are
often attached in representation and symbolisms of  requested
blessings for the up coming year as well.

Later in it's history the Yule fire was brought indoors in the form of
the Yule Log.  Later a log that will burn continuously for 3 days would
be used and it's remnants used to light the next years fire.

 Most fire places now days could never safely accommodate a 3 day
monster. So to compensate, some individuals  will split the log into 3 pieces ,
then  all three pieces are decorated and one piece burnt  each day; or
decorate 3 smaller logs yet others are satisfied with one log burnt on the
night of the Winter Solstice only...

And if you don't have a fireplace, you can make a Yule log and bore
holes to accommodate 2 hand dipped tapers, 1 for the Mother Goddess,
and one for the Divine Child of the Light, the God, and burn the
tapers down to just safely above the decorations surrounding it...this
then can be placed in a secret part of the garden to return to the
Earth  and bless the land to which it is given.

No matter you adaptation of this tradition you are sure to be blessed
by the incorporation of it into your Yule celebration.

Uzume took vines and tied up her sleeves with them.

before the rock-cave of the goddess. Leaping up on it, she
stamped, hard, on it. The she revealed her breasts and
womanhood.
 
Uzume picked up a grass-wreathed spear and began to
dance before the cave of heaven. And she kindled a fire
and sang a heavenly ditty.

In the most important story of the Japanese scriptures, the sun goddess Amaterasu retreated into a rock cave, taking all the light from the world. Plunged into darkness, the eight myriad god and goddesses were frightened, for they did not know how to lure the sun back to the world. By the shaman goddess, Uzume, had an idea. She performed a bawdy dance, which first drew puzzlement then laughter from the assembled gods. Inside her cave, Amaterasu was baffled by the noise. When it did not abate, she cautiously ventured forth - and thus light came back to the world.
 
All around the world, even to this day, we celebrate and laugh and tell
stories and seek out companionship during the darkness of winter. Mythically, our role in the cosmic drama is important, for without laughter the sun will not return. So in this dark time, let us laugh as loudly and as long as possible.

(here in the northeast) Now our sights turn towards the traditional holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hannukah, etc. And speaking of tradition, the NJGHS will have its Holiday Gathering in lieu of a monthly meeting on December 20 at the normal meeting location in Hackettstown. Need positive energy for a good friend

I've a good friend that is in foreclosure. The people that own the house know that her family has had some problems, but they are going to evict her from her home after the Holidays.
She has until the end of the month to get up $5k to the lawyer, she's in chapter 13 right now.

I've tried to get up some funds for her, I've gathered things up for them to have a somewhat good Yule, but every place that she's called says the same thing. "No funds available."
Worse, some places say that she's not qualified for help because she isn't homeless yet or they aren't making enough money. Plus the people that own the house/mortgage won't participate in the modification programs that are available.

I've checked online and they have the house up for sale, with owner financing available, with a rent to own option. Yet they won't work something out with the family already in the home. They are upper class property owners, they are not struggling to make payments or they would be willing to help this family. They won't even take partial payments, which shows that they aren't worried about money.

How could anyone have a heart that would toss out a family with a young child after the Holidays?

Please send positive healing energy to this family. My good friend is Quanda Moore-Nathan and her husband Trent and their 4yr old son Tristan. I appreciate any blessings you can offer.
