Feeling Our Words
Words Have Weight
The more conscious we become, the more we deepen our relationship to the words we choose to use.
Words carry energy and this gives language its power and its potential to heal or hurt. Most of us can remember a time that someone sent a word our way, and it stuck with us. It may have been the first time we received a truly accurate compliment, or the time a friend or sibling called us a name, but either way it stuck. This experience reminds us that what we say has weight and power and that being conscious means being aware of how we use words.
The more conscious we become, the more we deepen our relationship to the words we use so that we speak from a place of actually feeling what we are saying. We begin to recognize that words are not abstract, disconnected entities used only to convey meaning; they are powerful transmitters of feeling. For the next few days, you might want to practice noticing how the words you say and hear affect your body and your emotional state. Notice how the different communication styles of the people in your life make you feel. Also, watch closely to see how your own words come out and what affect they have on the people around you.
You may notice that when we speak quickly, without thinking, or rush to get our ideas across, our words don't carry the same power as when we speak slowly and confidently, allowing those receiving our words time and space to take them in. When we carefully listen to others before we speak, our words have more integrity, and when we take time to center ourselves before speaking, we truly begin to harness the power of speech. Then our words can be intelligent messengers of healing and light, transmitting deep and positive feelings to those who receive them.

The Life of the Raven

A little something I wrote yesterday :-)
Inspired by the world around us.. the seen and unseen.. the known and
unknown. I fall in love with the seasons and I am in awe of the magic
that flows upon each current of wind. Watching the world from my perch
high above the ground… I have seen it all… Pain, love, torture,
despair, hope, freedom, hatred and kindness. From my walk I have
witnessed it all … from my flight I have survived it all .. and from
my heart I have healed from it all.
From the eye of the raven… there is love
From the heart of the raven…there is love
From the life of the raven… there is nothing but love.

2012 or Bust!

Some say the end is near while others will tell you that 2012 is a
year of dramatic changes not only for the Earth but for everyone
living upon it.
I ask that you forget what you have read and what you have heard and
let go of those ideas of others. Make 2012 YOUR year. Allow 2012 and
the all the years after be what YOU want them to be. Forget New Year
resolutions and make LIFE RESOLUTIONS! I've never been one fond of
doing what others do or what others think I should do. I have always
been one to follow my own set of rules. Life is what we make it and I
plan on making it the best that I possibly can. I am sure hard times
will come but they will also pass as they have in the years gone by.
We all have life sitting there right in front of us waiting for us to
take it into our own hands and do with it what we wish. Sure there are
unexpected things that come up.. thats all a part of life.. it's what
makes it interesting .. it keeps us awake and aware.
If your goal this year is to find love... then find that love within
yourself first.
If you wish to shed some weight... rid yourself of what stress you can
and watch as the weight follows suit. (exercise and eating right must
follow as well)
Exercise you mind, body and spirit daily.
Allow goodness to come into your life by giving it frequently.
Go after your dreams and believe in yourself.
Be smart in your decisions but don't let fear guide you.
Make no excuses. Plan and then DO!
Life is there waiting ...
You don't want to come to the end of your days thinking of all the
lost opportunities and "what ifs" ... you want to look back and say
"At least I gave it a go!" " I tried" "I did" "I dreamed" " I was
true to ME"

Aromatherapy Lymph Massage Oil
8 drops Lemon essential oil
8 drops Grapefruit essential oil
6 drops Bay Laurel (Lauris nobilis)or Rosemary essential oil
2 oz. carrier oil
Combine and use for a lymphatic massage.
The essential oils help move congested lymph helping to cleanse the liver, reduce water retention and improve immunity.
Lymph nodes are located around the body, in the throat, groin, breasts and under the arms.
They are like filtering centers for cleansing the blood.
Lemon, Rosemary and Grapefruit are especially good at stimulating movement and supporting the cleansing action.
You can even give yourself this treatment. Rub the massage oil up the arm to your lymph nodes.From the center of the chest,
rub again toward your arm pit and then down your neck. Massage your legs from your feet up to your groin.

Garlic cloves tucked into the corners of the threshold of entry doors keep out negative energies and unwanted visitors.
On Hogmany Eve (New Year’s Eve), braid or string thirteen garlic bulbs and hang them in the kitchen to absorb undesired
energies. (Be sure to throw out the ones from the previous year.) Roasting and eating garlic with supper aids digestion and
keeps the skin young. Cutting a garlic clove and wiping the juice on a knife empowers it to deflect negative energies. Do this
on a paring knife and stick it in the ground to deflect bad weather from coming to the house. Add a clove of garlic to a mojo
bag to strengthen the spell and ward off negative external energies.

About Odudua: In the beginning, Odudua created the earth and its people. In Yoruban tradition, she presides over all matters of fertility, love, and community. Her sacred color is black.
To Do Today: This African American festival celebrates family unity and the black culture. It is also a harvest festival whose name means "first fruits." Every day of the celebration focuses on important themes including Odudua's harmony, determination, community responsibility, purpose, creativity, and faith.
One lovely tradition easily adapted is that of candle lighting. Each day of the festival, light one red, green, or black candle
(the colors of Africa). Name the candle after one of Odudua's attributes you wish to develop (try to choose the color that
most closely corresponds to your goal). Igniting it gives energy and visual manifestation to that principle. Also try to keep
one black candle lit ( in a safe container) to honor the goddess's presence during this time.
To inspire Odudua's peaceful love in your heart and life today, wear something black. This will absorb the negativity around you and put it to rest.
GrannyMoon's Note: In Yoruba mythology, Odudua is ancient fertility goddess, a daughter of Olorunand Olokun,
and sister/wife of Obatala, the Yoruba god of the earth. From the union of Obatala, heaven, and Odudua
came forth two children, Aganju and Yemaja. These children represent
land and water. She (occasionally male) is the Goddess of the South.
