'Working With Energy'

Sunday, 16 January 2011 ~ 2pm-6pm
Epping, Victoria (Melb northern suburbs)
Sliding scale: $10-$20

This workshop will introduce you to the fundamental skills and concepts of working with energy. Maintaining the health of our ethereal bodies and working with energy is essential to spiritual living and creating magic. In this workshop you will learn:

- how to ground and centre, and what the difference is between these
- ways to experiment with grounding to create your own personal method
- how to work from your 'core' and avoid acting from an inflated or deflated state
- how to recognise the energy associated with 'standing in your own power'
- ways to cleanse and strengthen your aura
- purpose of shielding and the difference between shielding & shutting down
- how to experiment with directing energy
- practical uses for grounding, centering, cleansing and shielding in daily life

This workshop has been created to allow participants to experiment and experience various methods of working with energy, and provides a safe space for discussion and questions.

This brief course is an excellent platform for beginners who wish to ground their spirituality into their daily lives. It is also appropriate for seasoned practitioners who would like to revisit and re-evaluate some of the core exercises used in modern day witchcraft and paganism.

To register visit: www.thespiralpath.net (and click on the 'Workshops' page)

Blessings,
Aradia xx

CCIWI has been granted tax concession

Hi all,

Apologies for cross postings but I figured this is a fairly important breakthrough for Wiccans generally in terms of equality and acceptance.

I'm excited to say that after over a year of waiting, of providing required information and explaining about Wicca to the Australian Tax Office, the Community Church of Inclusive Wicca Inc. (CCIWI) has been awarded tax concessions.

This is the first Wiccan specific group ever in Australia to be accepted for the concessions and whilst I am proud of that achievement, I am even more proud that other Wiccan groups can now apply for the same concessions (assuming they meet the requirements of course).
We did it! Wicca has taken one more step toward religious equality within Australia.

Smiles,
Amethyst Treleven, Public Officer of CCIWI

Congratulations Amethyst. This is wonderful news*, and a first for the Antipodes - following on from the announcements regarding Druidry in Britain earlier this year as well. This "Year of the Moon (as I call it) is turning out to bear some significant "first fruits".

* despite my oft-stated preference for a REDUCTION in all official acknowledgement of religions of any kind rather than extension of it in any direction whatsoever - but realistically speaking, one now thinks, the present outcome is perhaps best, given the fact that the big religions will simply always and forever get tax breaks due to their heavily entrenched clout, and upscaled religiosity seems to be the trend lately especially given the fact that Abbot is likely to win the next election and make religious crapola ubiquitous, so maybe it is good to get a wedge-end in there somewhere in advance and this is a good start.

Progress is sometimes a long road, but you've reach your destination. What a great solstice 'gifted' effort - congratulations.
