Welcome New Moon....Come in and Join us tonight

Welcome New Moon, Tonight lets light a candle and share together!

Tonight is good for Peace, Love and Growth...Blessed Beltane!

Good time to spells for:

beginning, birth, emergence, projection, clarity. It is the time in a cycle that
you are stimulated to take a new action. During this phase the new cycle is
being seeded by your vision, inner and outer. Engage in physical activity. Spend
time alone.

VISUALIZE your goals for the 29.6-day cycle ahead.

New Moon workings can be done from the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half
days after.

The new moon is for starting new ventures, new beginnings. Also love and
romance, health or job hunting.

The beginning of a new cycle. The first phase of moon's orbit around the
earth....it is between the sun and the earth so from the earth they rise and set
together...thus we cannot see the reflection as it faces the sun..at the 12
o'clock position..This time is used for personal growth or a time for
healing....also a time to consecrate new tools.....to be used in upcoming
ceremonies

DailyOM - You Have All the Answers Within You
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

May 3, 2011
Finding Answers Within
You Have All the Answers Within You
When you realize that you always have the answers within yourself, you can stop
searching outside of yourself.

Many of us seek the answers to life's questions by looking outside of ourselves
and trying to glean advice from the people around us. But as each of us is
unique, with our own personal histories, our own sense of right and wrong, and
our own way of experiencing the world that defines our realities, looking to
others for our answers is only partially helpful. The answers to our personal
questions can be most often found by looking within. When you realize that you
always have access to the part of you that always knows what you need and is
meant to act as your inner compass, you can stop searching outside of yourself.
If you can learn to hear, trust, and embrace the wisdom that lives within you,
you will be able to confidently navigate your life.

Trusting your inner wisdom may be awkward at first, particularly if you grew up
around people who taught you to look to others for answers. We each have
exclusive access to our inner knowing. All we have to do is remember how to
listen. Remember to be patient as you relearn how to hear, receive, and follow
your own guidance. If you are unsure about whether following your inner wisdom
will prove reliable, you may want to think of a time when you did trust your own
knowing and everything worked out. Recall how the answers came to you, how they
felt in your body as you considered them, and what happened when you acted upon
this guidance. Now, recall a time when you didn't trust yourself and the
results didn't work out as you had hoped. Trusting your own guidance can help
you avoid going against what you instinctively know is right for you.

When you second guess yourself and go against what you know to be your truth,
you can easily go off course because you are no longer following your inner
compass. By looking inside yourself for the answers to your life's questions,
you are consulting your best guide. Only you can know the how's and why's of
your life. The answers that you seek can be found when you start answering your
own questions.

What's Happening Today:

Pilgrimage to St Mary's Well - A writer for the London Times reported on 25 May
1957 about his pilgrimage to St. Mary's Well in Culloden on the first Sunday in
May, the traditional time for performing a ritual that survived for centuries.
Pilgrims first threw a coin into the well, as a tribute to the spirit dwelling
there, then took a sip of the water, made a wish, and tied a "clootie" or small
rag to a branch of the over-hanging tree. The prayer flags were left up to be
rotted away by the elements. To remove them would be to bring upon yourself the
afflictions the original owners were trying to shed.
Blackburn, Bonnie and Leofranc Holford-Strevens, Oxford Companion to the Year,
Oxford University Press 1999

St Monica - She is the matron of mothers, although she sounds more like the
matron of martyrs. She married a pagan, a man of high temper, who made her life
miserable, but eventually through her good influence, he was converted. Her son,
Augustine, who was 17 when his father died, was equally a cross to bear. He was
wild and dissolute, drinking too much and patronizing prostitutes. He had a
mistress and became a Manichean heretic. But eventually the prayers of his
mother paid off and he became a devout Christian (and a devout misogynist).
.
Ireland: Hawthorn Month - Sacred to G oddess Sheila Na Gig, the protector of
the poor. Believers hang old clothes on hawthorn bushes all month beginning on
this day to avert poverty.

Fairy Day - on this day the mischievous fairy folk emerge from their hiding
places.

Greek: The fourth day of every month is sacred to the Goddess Aphrodite and the
God Hermes.

Today's Goddess:  Maeve Fairy Gatherings (Ireland)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue May 3, 2011 7:20 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess: Maeve
Fairy Gatherings (Ireland)

Themes: Fairies; Magic; Protection; Leadership; Justice (Law)
Symbols: Birds; Gold

About Maeve: As the Fairy Queen, Maeve oversees today's merrymaking among the
citizens of the fey. She also attends to human affairs by providing protection,
wise leadership, and prudent conventions. Works of art depict Maeve with golden
birds on her shoulders, whispering magical knowledge into her ear.

To Do Today: Near the beginning of May, the wee folk of Ireland come out of
hiding for a grand celebration of spring. If you don't want the Maeve and the
citizens of fey to pull pranks on you today, take precautions, as the Europeans
do: avoid traveling, put a piece of clothing on inside-out, wear something red,
and leave the fairy folk an offering of sweet bread, honey, or ale. In some
cases, this will please the fairies so much that they will offer to perform a
service or leave you a gift in return!

When you need to improve your command of a situation or inspire more equity,
call on Maeve through this spell: Take a piece of white bread and toast it
until it's golden brown. Scratch into the bread a word or phrase representing
your goal (for example, if raises at work haven't been given out fairly, write
the words work and raises). Distribute the crumbs from this to the birds so
they can convey your need directly to Maeve's ears.

Bless Your Garden Spell Incense of the day: Neroli

Bless Your Garden Spell
Incense of the day: Neroli

May 3 is the last day of the Floralia festival, which honors the Roman goddess
Flora. Flora's domain includes flowers, herbs, and gardens. Go out to your
garden, wearing brightly colored garments and flowers in your hair. Burn some
floral incense in Flora's honor. Try rose, rosemary, vanilla, daisy, lavender,
gardenia, and jasmine. The incense smoke will carry your desires to her. Sit by
the garden for a while, and say:

Flora, goddess of garden and flower. Bless my garden this very hour. Let it
flourish and be fertile.
Grace this space with your smile. Blessed be.

Know that Flora will honor your wish.

Alsacian  Folksong of  Spring

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue May 3, 2011 7:26 pm (PDT)

Little May Rose,
turn around, turn around!
Little May Rose,
we watch you turn round!
Rose of the May,
come away, come away,
Rose of the May,
to the woods, come away.
How merry we are,
as the season closes,
how merry we go
from May to the roses.
~Alsacian Folksong of Spring

The bright beauty of spring is short-lived, yet none the less beautiful for
that. One of the great lessons we can learn from spring is to revel in, but not
cling to, those lovely things that come our way for a moment, for a month, for a
season. All things, all people, pass - some more quickly than others. We can
either mourn constantly for our losses, or praise the goddess for the brief
beauties that flower in our lives.

It always seems easier to let go of what we define as difficult or painful than
it is to release pleasure and joy. Yet, both, equally, must pass. What sustains
us through pain can seem unfair when life becomes pleasurable again. Yet spring
cannot stay. Embrace it, and let it go.
