Focusing on Possibilities

Posted by: "holly@ravenmadness.com" holly@ravenmadness.com   fshaunt

This morning on my way to work .. I heard a sound bite from the movie
"Soul Surfer". The quote was "I don't need easy, I can use
possible."

What a great quote!

Hearing this made me think of opportunities that have come my way and
then I wondered .. did I take easy instead of possible? Did I throw away
opportunities because I thought they might be too hard? I'm sure that
down my road there were moments when I dismissed the possible and took
easy. We all have at some point, I'm sure.

This was a great reminder of what we could be missing or passing up if
we don't look at the possibilities and instead only look at how
difficult something may or may not be.

How much further could we go if we focused more on the possibilities of
life instead of the obstacles?

Don't we always say "Anything is possible if you just believe" ?

Well… I believe that today I am going to focus a whole lot more on the
possibilities and a whole lot less on what stands between me and those
possibilities.

Get-R-Done! hahahahahaa sorry, the south in me just had to say it

Many Blessings,

Today's Goddess : Blodeuwedd Geranium Day (England)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Today's Goddess : Blodeuwedd
Geranium Day (England)

Themes:  Beauty; Relationships; Charity; Hope
Symbols:  Flowers (any); Owl

About Blodeuwedd:  This intensely beautiful Welsh Goddess's name means "flower face", because magician's fashioned her visage from oak, primrose, meadowsweet, and broom flowers.  Folktales say that Blodeuwedd was unfaithful to her husband.  As punishment for her crime, the same magicians who gave her a flower face chose to be merciful and transformed Blodeuwedd into an owl rather than inflicting some other punishment.  She has forever remained in this form, mourning the loss of love and reminding people of two important lessons:  relationships are fragile, and beauty is indeed only skin deep.

To Do Today:  The English sell geraniums today to collect funds for charities, specifically those that support services for the blind, who cannot see Blodewedd's radiance as we do.  In the language of flowers, geraniums represent solace--which is what any act of charity stimulates today.  It provides hope to those in need and inspires Blodeuwedd's beauty within your soul.  Even if your pocket is empty, extend assistance to someone or something in need.  Offer to help an elderly friend with chores, give some returnable bottles to a homeless person, act as a big brother or sister to orphans, give water to a stray cat.  Benevolence has many forms, and it makes the world a much nicer place in which to live.

Manifesting with Crystals

Manifesting with Crystals

Very simply, manifesting is a method of
'programming' your quartz crystal to help your subconscious mind to create
something tangible in your life that you
may need. Notice that I use the word need, not want. There is a very big
difference! Before you proceed with any
form of manifesting it is extremely important that you examine your conscience
and decide exactly what it is you wish to
achieve. Decide, in as much precise detail as possible, whatever it is you
need to acquire. In order to avoid
dissipating the crystalline energies, it is most essential that you only use
your
chosen crystal for manifesting purposes
only! Let me repeat once again. Need, not want, should be your main criteria!

First, hold your quartz crystal in front
of you, with both hands. Stare at it intently and visualize yourself and your
intention together. You may now close
your eyes.

Bring into your mind a complete and exact
image of whatever it is you wish to manifest. Visualize as much detail as
possible; concentrate as hard as you possibly
can and imagine that you actually possess whatever it is you are
manifesting. You are extremely happy and
relaxed, secure in the knowledge that your need has been met. make your time;
5,
10 or even 15 minutes, it doesn't matter.
Then, when you have finished, take a large deep breath, relax your body and
when you feel comfortable, open your
eyes. Do your manifesting whenever possible (morning and evening).

Safety from Here-to-There Spell

Safety from Here-to-There Spell
.
For safety during travel today, carry
some comfrey with you. It is said that placing some in suitcases will prevent
your bags from being stolen or lost
during travel. Before going out for the day, charge a bit of comfrey to take
with
you. As you chant, see the protective
energies of the plant surround you, and say:

Spirits of this plant, I pray.
Keep me safe throughout this day.
Bring me safety and security, please.
Allow me to travel where I will with ease.

Place the comfrey in your purse or
pocket. You might want to leave some in your car to protect it both on the road
and in the parking lot.

Buddhist Prayer To The Goddess Of Mercy

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Thu Apr 7, 2011 8:33 pm (PDT)

Evil may find me some day, hell's demons
and earth's savage beasts surround me.
Illness may find me, and other sadnesses.
Age and death may find their way to me.
But Kuan-Yin can find me too. I am never
hidden from her goodness, from her compassionate
glance, her infinite blessing, her perfection.
She sees everything and answers every prayer.
I bow my head to her, in perfect reverence.

~Buddhist Prayer To The Goddess Of Mercy

Today in Japan, children are celebrating the Buddhist feast of Hana Matsuri by bringing offerings of fresh flowers and Hydrangea tea tot he temples. Even before Buddhism arrived in Japan, this was the time of the spring hill-climbing festival, when the new wildflowers were gathered and brought back to bedeck the house and the family altar, where portraits of the ancestors were kept. In this way, the deep connection between life and death is emphasized, for those ancestors have become part of the great fertility of the earth, from which new flowers grow.

There is a certain sadness to every springtime, for there are loved ones who cannot delight in it. Friends, lovers, family members pass into the great mystery of death, yet spring comes as though they had never disappeared. For those new in the grief of love's passing, springtime can be unbearably painful; each flower is one that the dimmed eyes can never see, each fragrance lilting across the air is one in which the lost one can never rejoice. But later springs bring comfort as well as renewed pain, for within each new year's growth is a deep reminder of the way in which nature brings all beautiful things back into the fragile glory of life. Kuan-Yin, the Goddess of mercy, is most active in Spring, for that is a season when her people feel their losses the most poignantly.

DailyOM - Cultivating Inner Clarity
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

A World in Confusion
Cultivating Inner Clarity
If we can locate the stillness at the center of our hearts, we can find composure in almost any situation.

People who maintain their sense of calm when things around them are in a state of flux and confusion are always wonderful to be around. We feel calmer just being near them, as if they have activated our own sense of inner peace. From them we learn that we can be calm, even when everything around us is in turmoil, because we know that no matter what happens, this inner sense of calm will help us to function well. Often, times of confusion are the times that enable us to find that part of ourselves that knows how to cope, and how to be a light to others in the storm.

If we allow ourselves to be thrown off balance by every piece of disturbing news that comes our way, we may be relying too much on our emotions. On the other hand, our thoughts may also be unreliable at times like these, as they chatter on endlessly about what might happen next. If our feelings and thoughts activate one another in a hectic way, then we become caught up in the confusion that surrounds us. However, if we can locate the stillness at the center of our hearts, we can find composure in almost any situation. In addition, we provide a safe place for our friends and family, who are also prone to taking on the confusion of a world in flux.

It helps to remember that we don't need to completely understand what's happening right now, nor do we need to be able to predict the future. Most of us just want to find our way to being at peace with whatever happens, and we can find this peace inside. Cultivating our inner clarity with meditation, journaling, and reading words that inspire us, will lead us to that place inside us that's already there, just waiting.
