and how this correlates with the code of creation.

winning documentary *The Witches of Gambaga*, an extraordinary story of

in Africa.

_
__*Recent PAST SHOWS... You can access them in the archives*_ -

Filmmaker _*Steve Jones*_ will discuss the year he spent with Lady
Olivia Robertson of the Fellowship of Isis as he made the film about her
life, *Olivia, Priestess of Isis*. Followed by....

Documentary film maker,_*Thomas Quinn*_, discussing his book, *What Do
You Do with a Chocolate Jesus? (An Irreverent History of
Christianity).*...a funny but factual history of the New Testament, the
growth of Christianity and religion's role in the founding of America.
But we don't stop with the past, we also discuss the politics of
religion in the present: The re-writing of history by bogus Right Wing
historians, Evangelical Christians, the Tea Party and Sarah Palin, and
the phoney fears of Sharia Law and Glen Beck's apocalyptic ravings.
We're going to ask questions like why Eve got a raw deal? Was Jesus a
feminist? Was there ever really a female pope? Where does the bible
stand on abortion? Do politicians misrepresent Christianity? Is our
government based on Christian values?

_*Barbara Walker*_, author of */Man Made God/ *and how that has shaped
our society. Followed by _*Patrick McCollum*_ bringing us up to date on
the Tier One vs Two religious intolerance lawsuit in CA, his travels to
Nepal, Russia, the UK, Israel and Palestine and what's happened since he
received the Mahatma Ghandi award.

_*Charlene Spretnak*_, author of *Relational Reality*: New Discoveries
of Interrelatedness That Are Transforming the Modern World will
discuss: What is relational reality, examples of interrelatedness in
areas of health, education/parenting, community/design/architecture and
the economy. What are some of the implications of the Relational Shift
with regard to women.
Followed by -
_*Nancy Williams*_, author of Hawkmoon discussing the *Roles of Women in
the Frontier West*.

_*Elizabeth Fisher*_ , author of the Rise Up and Call Her Name program,
discussing *Lilith Meets the Green Man*. In our conversation we'll be
discussing who Lillith and the Green Man are, the symbolism of the
apple, tree and serpent in the Garden of Eden myth, and how these
symbols tie into Lilith and the Green man mythologies. Then we'll see
how this all relates to ourcurrent cultural and political conflicts and
how this new mythology helps us build community.

*_Marguerite Rigoglioso_ *- author of *Virgin Mother Goddesses of
Antiquity *and our show topic is*When God Was a Virgin Mother...and the
Eleusinian Mysteries Illuminated*. Very interesting stuff including
discussion of an older Athena - the one that wasn't birthed from Zeus'
head. And in our talk, we'll discuss a new interpretation for
Persephone's rape by Hades and much more. And more....Marguerite is
also the author of *The Cult of Divine Birth in Ancient Greece* and time
permitting we'll see how these books overlap!

*_Bob Walter_ *, Executive Director of the *Joseph Campbell Foundation*
discussed what it means to be a "mythic activist", the importance of
Joseph Campbell's work in the world, the hero/heroine's journey, and how
rational thought, and the I versus WE mentality, replaced Goddess. I
also plan to ask Bob: What happens when myths become not metaphors but
fact (aka religion) and how it contributes to the agony of the world.
When one understands the psychology of myth and it's role in religion
where does that leave most people on the subject of God/ess? The
Atheist? Can we reconcile believing in God/ess with understanding myth
and how can we reconcile myth with your own spirituality/religion?

Time: 6PM Pacific/9PM Eastern. You'll have to make adjustments for
your time zone. And the show is available later from the archives where
you might listen at your convenience.

Goddess is a Democrat !! Imagine the feedback from that statement in my
interviews with Riane Eisler and Starhawk on my radio show, Voices of
the Sacred Feminine. But what were we really saying in that statement
that might not have been immediately evident? We were saying the
strategy to move us toward that paradigm shift, into a post-kyriarchal
world, would not just be the use of secular law, but through a change in
thealogy - the mythology of the Sacred Feminine, deity, archetype and
ideal, might re-establish the foundations on our planet necessary for
sustainable future for all life and Mother Earth. Hear the line of
thought....presented at the WECSOR/American Academy of Religion by Dr.

Seasons of Beauty
Aging Gracefully
As we cultivate our life, our beauty becomes as much about what we are creating and doing as it is about our appearance.

We tend to associate youth with beauty, but the truth is that beauty transcends every age. Just as a deciduous tree is stunning in all its stages—from its full leafy green in the summer to its naked skeleton during winter and everything in between—human beings are beautiful throughout their life spans.

The early years of our lives tend to be about learning and experiencing as much as we possibly can. We move through the world like sponges, absorbing the ideas of other people and the world. Like a tree in spring, we are waking up to the world. In this youthful phase of life, our physical strength, youth, and beauty help open doors and attract attention. Gradually, we begin to use the information we have gathered to form ideas and opinions of our own. As we cultivate our philosophy about life, our beauty becomes as much about what we are saying, doing, and creating as it is about our appearance. Like a tree in summer, we become full, expressive, beautiful, and productive.

When the time comes for us to let go of the creations of our middle lives, we are like a tree in autumn dropping leaves, as we release our past attachments and preparing for a new phase of growth. The children move on, and careers shift or end. The lines on our faces, the stretch marks, and the grey hairs are beautiful testaments to the fullness of our experience. In the winter of our lives, we become stripped down to our essence like a tree. We may become more radiant than ever at this stage, because our inner light shines brighter through our eyes as time passes. Beauty at this age comes from the very core of our being—our essence. This essence is a reminder that there is nothing to fear in growing older and that there is a kind of beauty that comes only after one has spent many years on earth.

Reminder Beltane 2011 Hosted by Panthean Temple Cancelled this year,

Reminder Beltane 2011 Hosted by Panthean Temple Cancelled this year, CT

Update on Beltaine, the temple, and me
Sorry everyone, but Beltaine 2011 is canceled for this year.

We will
focus instead on building 2012 into another festival worthy of the name
'Pagan Odyssey.'   There are lots of reasons – I had thought we could do
a smaller Beltaine festival, but even that would be too much at this point. The economy, the need to rebuild the
temple, and my own personal life has taken priority.   In October, I
lost my mural painting job abruptly, and I have been skating on thin ice financially ever since. I have occasional freelance graphic design
work, but it is sporadic and not enough to live on. I can't very well
try to put together even a small festival when I am scrambling for work
just to stay afloat. If anyone is interested in my art, graphic design,
commissions or in having a reading – now would be a good time to do make arrangements. As I have not worked for an employer for six years until
recently, I do not have unemployment. As you all know, the temple does
not support me. As soon as I have a regular income, I will be supporting it once again.   The recession has really done a number on both the
temple and myself. People haven't been donating like they used to, and
even some of our personal sponsors for the festival can't help this
year. There were only a handful of preregistrations – and everyone who
did will receive a two-year family pass for the festival and a phone
call from me.   On another level, everyone always assumes the work for
the festival just magically happens without their efforts. For those of
you who honestly are willing to take on real responsibility of the
festival for next year, please contact me, and join the Pagan Odyssey
yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PaganOdyssey/). Do not volunteer if there is any chance you will drop the ball – this
has happened far too frequently in the past.   Our little television
show will continue, and we could use a few extra hands with that as
well. Training is free, looks really spiffy on a resume, and comes with a personal letter of reference from me if you join the crew and commit to doing a good job. No talent required, just willing hands.   Since I was forced to close the store, were have not had a regular location for the temple other than my apartment. I have been teaching privately, and am
intent on transforming our outer court coven into a working coven, and
that also means that the people I can depend on will eventually be doing public training and teaching. Although I still might accept a student
or two this year, I am only training those who intend on becoming
priesthood, and training those few people well.   I also can't afford at my age to continue taking career hits as sacrifice to the temple – and
this means my role within the temple must change. I hope you all
understand.   Our next public sabbat will likely be Midsummer.
Blessings, Rev. Alicia

Today's Goddess: Mawu African Fertility Festival

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:57 pm (PDT)

Today's Goddess: Mawu
African Fertility Festival

Themes:  Creativity; Universal Law; Passion; Abundance; Birth; Inspiration
Symbols:  Clay; Moon

About Mawu:  Mawu arrives on an elephant's back, expectant with spring's creative energy.  Hers is a wise passion and a timely birth, being ruled by natural laws and universal order.  In Africa, she's  a lunar-aligned creatrix who made people from clay.  As a mother figure, Mawu inspires the universe's abundance and every dreamer's imagination.

To Do Today:  Rituals for Mawu rejoice in her life-giving energy, often through lovemaking.  In Africa, people take this seed generation literally and sow the fields, knowing that Mawu will make the land fertile.  So get yourself a seedling today and bring it into the house to welcome Mawu and her creative powers.  Name the sprout after one of Mawu's attributes that you want to cultivate.  Each time you water or tend the plant, repeat its name and accept Mawu's germinating energy into your spirit.

Alternatively, get some nonhardening clay and begin fashioning a symbol of what you need.  Devote yourself to spending time on this over 28 days (a lunar cycle), until it's complete.  Each time you work, say,

Mother Mawu, make me whole,
help me obtain my sacred goal.

By the time this finished, you should see the first signs of manifestation.

Clear Away Mold Spell

Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:59 pm (PDT)

Clear Away Mold Spell
Incense of the day: Juniper

Today is the Robigalia festival of ancient Rome. This agricultural festival
gave offerings to Robiga, the spirit of mildew and dust, so she would
stay away from the crops.

Today, we are separated from the agricultural process, but can connect with it by growing our homes, families, and projects. Mold and mildew can
affect these things in different forms, like jealousy, anger, hate, and
prejudice. Let's light a black candle and leave an offering of ash,
dust, dirt, or mulch for Robiga. Ask her to spare your projects, by
saying:

Robiga, please spare my projects from the mildew and mold known as hate,
jealousy, and anger. I offer you an offering to gain your favor. Blessed be.

Make sure you live in accord. Don't manifest the very things you are trying to keep away.

Daily Aromatherapy...Insecticides

Daily Aromatherapy
For a safe alternative to potentially harmful insecticides, place three drops of peppermint, citronella,
or eucalyptus essential oil on your socks. Mosquitoes and other bugs hate the smell of these oils.
Don't apply essential oils to your favorite socks, as they can stain. Some eo's may cause skin irritation,
so avoid direct contact. Reapply the eo every two to three hours.

May Pole Candles

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon Apr 25, 2011 8:01 pm (PDT)

May Pole Candles

You will need:
Lots of pretty ribbons
Tall white or green pillar candle
Gold or brass "Craft Bells"
Candle holder (stand)

Cut lengths of ribbon around 18 inches each, in pretty Springtime colors.(pastels)
Tie a craft bell to each end of ribbon (a tooth pick helps this process) Tie ribbons starting
at 3/4 way down the pillar candle, knot three times, don't tie bows, you need lots of length
on the ribbons. Tie as many as you like snaking your way up the candle, but leave at least
1/4 candle bare. Place in a candle stand that will raise the candle about 6 - 8 inches, so the
ribbons can "drape" Swirl the bundle of ribbons so they face East, ready to greet the dawn on
Beltane morn. Light candle and cheer the Spring time blessings to come. Keep a "safe" eye on
candle & ribbons.  ~ Barbara Morris

Greek Offering Prayer To Aphrodite

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Mon Apr 25, 2011 8:02 pm (PDT)

Here are some little trinkets, Goddess, because
I know you love baubles, and I want you to smile.
Here are some cakes, Aphrodite, sweet ones
for a sweet Goddess. I hope these make you happy.
And me? Oh, I want little in return: only your gaze,
watching me as I travel to my lover. Only your gaze,
shining like a star or the sun on my path, as I move
between ports through my life, searching for love.
~Greek Offering Prayer To Aphrodite

Following yesterday's festival, when they expressed fear at their vulnerability in the face of agricultural blight, the ancient Romans brightened their moods with another festival. The Floralia celebrated a love Goddess, Flora, in games and parades. Goats and hares, emblems of spring's lustful energies, ran through the city street, and people threw beans at each other, symbols of renewal.

This is a time when our lives can renew themselves. Spring energy can attract new openings, whether in love or in work or in simple pleasure. Open yourself to the energies around you. Honor the journey toward the future upon which we embark every day. The  Goddess is within you as well as all around you. She is your witness as you move toward your destiny.
