What's Happening to Me?

What's Happening to Me?

As you get older, do you think you're getting more liberal, more spiritual, more conservative or staying about the same? Has the way you age also affect your spirituality, does things seem to not make senses or do you think that people start loosing that belief in their deities?

Good Morning!
Over the years I believe I have become more spiritual. Although I was never big on ritual, I find that now I find prayer to be more a private thing that I can do on the beach or my back , a parking lot, anywhere I have quiet and can just relax and feel the Goddess with me.
This could be because of my previous christian experience where I learned that I do not need anything in between me and God , Just need to is feel the love inside myself and know that the Goddess is there. I dont spend as much time cutting circles and burning candles but I feel that everything I do every day , I should acknowledge and thank the Goddess for being with me.
If you ever pull up beside a white car with red head chatting away to herself , it could be me! Instead spending my money on items , my home is full of things I have found in nature , shells stone , feathers , basically anything that that i feel the need to pick up hold while i'm thinking. I believe i read it once as walking meditation.
I don't use individual deities as much although I am careful not to ever forget Hecate, because she led to my path even as a child.
This constant state of thankfulness and awareness has helped me become more in the moment. I don't become as angry or frustrated with things and I hold on to emotions less. Things just roll off like water on a ducks back. I once thought , "OMG, I am becoming agnostic , lol" but thats not true. I think believing that the Goddess is inside me rather than some external force has made me a better person because I am always thinking before I act and I don't feel alone. I see her beauty in everything and I feel a much closer connection.
Sandy

Power Animal of the Day: Bear

The Bear

Discernment
Affection          Faith

Take a deep breath and let the spirit of the bear fill you.

Click here to listen to the Bear's Song.

 The
many gifts of the bear are yours.  How fortunate you are!

The
bear will teach you how to go after the sweetness of life, to  put up with a few
bee stings to get at the honey, to put up with a few thorns to taste the sweet
berries.  With bear energy within you, the petty little irritations of life will
pass unnoticed as you go after the sweetness that is there for you.

The
bear will also teach you how to use your strength and balance it with love.
When threatened, the bear knows how to stand tall and bellow out a warning.  His
courage and power will be there for you whenever you need it.  But when
approached gently, the bear knows how to give a loving hug.  His sweet and
loving nature will reside gently within your heart.

But
most of all, the bear will teach you about seasons, about living with life as it
is.  He accepts that life has its seasons, the freshness of spring, the bounty
of summer, the beauty of fall, and the cold storms of winter.  And when the
winter is here, the bear knows that it is all right to just crawl into a cave
and sleep, safe and warm.  He sleeps soundly, full of faith, knowing that
tomorrow may just be the first day of a new spring.

Roar
out with your bearness.  Be present within each moment of every season, full of
love and courage and always going after the sweetness of life.  You are the
bear.

Daily Goddess Devotion

Over the river, and through the wood,
We dance in circles round!
Well have such fun, when the day is done,
And moonlight songs abound.
So with a thanksgiving blessed be,
We send peace to all we see.
So sing and dance within the light,
And set your spirits free.

Daily Quote:

“When you are in doubt, be still, and wait;
when doubt no longer exists for you, then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelop you, be still;
be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists, as it surely will.
Then act with courage.”

The Last Passage

Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

Tue Nov 23, 2010 7:40 am (PST)

Such a beautiful and extremely resonating and uplifting message that I wished to share with everyone. I hope this can and does speak to each of our hearts and have the greatest respect, love and admiration for all with Eros Dictum. Namaste

THE LAST PASSAGE

After extensive searching, study of all the world’s major religions and
teachings beyond those, reading hundreds if not thousands of books and
looking inward I found myself stuck several years ago. How, asked I of
me, do I finish this journey? How do I move back into the peace, love
and connection that I know is mine without knowing exactly where that is
or how to reach it?

There are many of you today on this planet
at this juncture. Many passages have come and gone and yet still you are
not “there” wherever you think “there” is â€" and that is probably
unclear. The major religions, the books today and back through antiquity
don’t explain how to reach Self Realization. Generalities prevail then
and now, stories, parables and even hints that you do not have to worry
about that because very few reach that state. Today, you can all reach
that state of being if you chose because this planet is not the planet
of the past. We are living in a different reality â€" do you know this?
Are you shifting with the evolution of Earth and this solar system?

The Pages of Evolution

Many
energetic intercessions by many beings in and out of form have created
energies on this planet that are wholly conducive to you, and all life,
to step into the innate way of being â€" soul using the form as a tool, a
world with no harm, a world of collaboration through loving sharing and
support in all ways in each moment. The lands and buildings have been
cleared of all old harm and heaviness â€" feel it. The Others, or the
beings who created the dual world, separation and harm are gone from
this solar system forever â€" be still and know the truth of this. There
is no thing that stands in your way now to coming home except your own
old mental constructs and beliefs that are not truth. Those that you
built as a self-protective shield based on fear to protect yourself and
manage your life.

Humanness is not synonymous with duality.
Duality is rare in the cosmos. Do not confuse your limited state of
being with being human as the natural state of being human is being
fully awake, and experiencing life in material form through the soul
without ego. You have been told and told, experienced repeatedly and
taken in many things that you believed, and/or accepted as inevitable
because that was what was experienced. And yet there was and is a voice
within you that says/knows that it does not have to be this way. That
there is a state of true freedom, purity of love, collaboration and
community that stands and supports without judgment or harm of any kind,
and a kinship with other forms of life in equality and sharing through
true understanding.

So now it is time to lay aside the old
constructs. You have nothing in your way and much support to help clear
the way for you to come fully home to Self. Do you know who that Self
is? Do you believe you are human and flawed, or that you are that
beautiful, energetic being with wisdom, power, knowing and skill to
contribute to a different kind of world here where so much has gone
wrong over the past 20,000 years? What is your truth? Find it in
Contemplation.

Common Cause

As I sit and
write this to you I feel you, as I feel many beings around me both
those on my Council and members of the Brotherhood, assisting me to be
clear about what would help you the most now, and encoding with me these
words so when they reach your eyes the energy of the truth will go deep
inside of you to help you lift your memory and help you to find
yourself wholly and completely. This is our purpose â€" this is why we
have all come, you and I and everyone in and out of form. To help each
other awaken and to work together to sculpt a beautiful world beyond
need, want, lack or pain. This is our common cause at the soul level. Do
you know this? Find it in Contemplation.

As a soul evolving in
the cosmos you expand and grow in your abilities, the purity of your
state of being, and in your ability to take full responsibility and stay
in integrity in divine right order in each moment. There is no soul
here now in or out of form that does not have this capacity. Are you
taking full responsibility for all you know in right order from the soul
in each moment? Are you in integrity with right order to the best of
your ability in each moment? If not â€" why not? We are taught in duality,
mostly through example. that taking responsibility and being in
integrity is mutable â€" like white lies â€" it depends on the circumstances
“they say.” This is not the way of the cosmos.

As in all
things, lay aside all judgment of self and others, and look to see where
you learned to side-step, do the shuffle, work through the mind and
figure the “safe” way rather than the loving and compassionate way of
self in consideration of all that is. There is a perceived safety in
hiding even from you that is false. There are no secrets in the cosmos,
all is known, each thought you have and each action and intention
exercised is known. Open the inner doors and lovingly see, know and then
lay aside what is standing in your way of beingness. For those of you
who have learned so much about the divine ways, look at why you do not
own it, live it, be it. This is not an intellectual exercise. Your brain
collects facts like a computer without true knowing and understanding.
Your soul knows instantly with clarity. Who do you listen to inside?
What choices do you make through the mind versus by the soul?

Moving Forward

This
planet and solar system are rapidly completing the transition into a
fifth domain world. Do you know this? Consider for a moment what I said
above, all influences that morphed this planet into a dual world are
gone. All that remains of harm is the ingrained harm in humans, learned
from the past. Will you willingly become part of the new or stay with
the old ways? It is your choice. As many of you have worked so
diligently over the years to come into your own unlimited self own the
truth that nothing now stands in your way except beliefs, perceptions,
habits and patterns learned in that old world of harm. Let them all go.

It
is our responsibility, those of us who have awakened, or are awakening
now to sculpt a new way. First we create in our personal lives and then
collaboratively together we create across the planet. Start now, today,
to take responsibility and be in integrity to participate fully in each
moment holding harm to none (including yourself) and stepping beyond the
old to create the new â€" one moment at a time where all creation occurs.
Remember, there is no projection forward, looking back or long-range
planning in this. We all show up and do what we know to do in the
moment, in each day in every facet of life. If you Know there is
clarity. Lay aside the old “what if and doubt.” Trust that knowing and
take action. As you move forward you will find that the soul’s Knowing
is right, trust worthy and always takes you where you need to be â€" even
if you do not know at the time the why. Clarity will come.

The New Communities

For
years now I have heard from individuals and groups the deep desire for
“true community.” Many have started communities around the globe in
anticipation, and projection that somehow through their wishes for a
different way their community would be different. Would be pure and
loving like the one they could not quite see inside but knew could
exist. The communities have failed, or fell short of their anticipated
state for one reason â€" ego. The purity of true loving community and
collaboration cannot be built through ego.

This ego, created
through pain and fear, is not you. As you take responsibility for laying
aside the old pain and fear the ego shrinks (often yelling loudly along
the way) until it no longer exists except in its true form â€" to move
you physically out of the way of harm should it occur, a reflexive
action in the moment to protect your form. Consider this, there was so
much fear stimulus on the planet that the ego was constantly stimulated
to protect you. It grew and dominated to the point that you
thought/think it is you. It is not. Do you know this?

Individuals
who are now Self Realized and/or Exalted are stepping forward to create
the new communities of the fifth domain world now. There is no ego here
so the creation of the communities is pure and will remain so. As
individuals are drawn to join the communities it is inevitable that they
will move into Self Realization quickly with the guidance and support
of mentors. At one point in the new future everyone on this planet will
be Exalted â€" soul using form as a tool. That is your innate way of being
and all humans who remain will be in that state in the new world.

Stepping
into Self Realization allows you to hear yourself and your Council
clearly. In this you can collaboratively provide your special
contribution to the community â€" whatever you choose before birth to do.
This contribution is not work. This contribution, in divine right order,
is pure joy for you and in discovering it, participating in it with
others it will feel very familiar as your memories of what to do, how to
do it come to your consciousness. Do not concern yourself with finding
your “purpose.” It is there waiting and will be known to you when you
are ready. Pay attention to what you are drawn to.

The Last Passages

These
then are the last passages, over the coming years, to complete the
third domain world of separation and come to the pivotal point of full
creation of the fifth domain world. All is in process and making stellar
progress. If you do not know this please spend time in Contemplation
focusing on the evolution of the planet and the creation of the fifth
domain world. For you to move with it, it must be your truth â€" not
simply words on paper.

There are many stories out there about
the “end times.” Many stories have been told about devastating earth
changes, hard times and struggle. Perhaps you, like many, have had
visions about this “ending” over the years. Consider that all in the
cosmos is loving, gentle and kind. This transition is being done in a
way to care for and preserve life. All humans who chose to stay and be
part of the new can if they have an open heart and hold harm to none.
The Earth and her mantle is transitioning but this has been slowed down
dramatically to preserve life. The dissolution of the systems and ways
of life you have known must occur in order for the new to be created.
And, it is impossible for the dual ways to stand in the purity of the
new. Listen to your soul and you will be guided in regard to where to
be, what to do and when. In that you will be cared for and your needs
will be met.

Allow yourself to let go of all shoulds, all
attachments to how it must be and all attachments to people and places.
Attachment is based on need through ego, allow yourself to be truly free
to move with your knowing understanding that if your actions are in
right order, they are right for everyone and everything. Our world does
not have countries. Our world is balanced and whole and you have a
perfect place in it. Relax and allow your soul to create a new way for
you â€" and thus a new way for the planet.

Practices

I have suggested several Practices above. Here are the techniques to use for these and all other Practices:

Meditation:
We recommend you meditate twice a day, morning and night, for 30
minutes. Meditation is the state of merging with the soul without
thought. You do not do Practices in meditation. Close your eyes, see the
point of white light in front of you, allow it to move toward you,
becoming clearer and larger until you merge into it.

Contemplation:
Connect with the energy of your soul in the area of your heart. Feel
the energy expand, clear your thoughts and lay aside all 3D issues.
Focus with soul on the topic â€" and that topic only. This focus is soul
guided. Your soul will respond by communicating through images, thoughts
and knowing, insights and understanding regarding your focus topic.
Repeat this with each topic over days until you feel you have
understanding. Please note that as you expand this understanding with
deepen and expand. This is continuation as long as you are in form. You
are remembering from soul. Each time you remember, bring into
consciousness what you know in your soul, it steps you forward to
remember and understand more. This is a good Practice to use to find the
core issues within you to let them go. It is also very helpful in
understanding the soul and the cosmic world you live in.

Stillness:
Sit in a quiet place inside or outside. Connect to your soul. Clear
your mind. With eyes open or closed simply be. If there is something you
would like to bring away from this time. Place the intention and let
go. Without expectation you simply are with heightened connection to
self and a heightened connection to the inner world. You may have
insights and/or experiences that reveal truth and understanding. It is
recommended that you go into Stillness for short periods multiple times a
day without an agenda to simply be, connect and remove yourself from
all the activity in the world.

DailyOM: Walking with Awareness

Walking with Awareness
Mindful Walking
While walking, each step we take can lead us to becoming more mindful of ourselves and our feelings.

Many of us take the benefits of walking for granted. Each day we limit the steps we take by driving or sitting for long periods of time. But walking even a few blocks a day has unlimited benefits â€" not only for our health, but our spirit as well, for as we walk, we connect with the earth.

Even when walking on concrete, the earth is still beneath us, supporting us. Walking lets our body remember simpler times, when life was less complicated. This helps us slow down to the speed of our body and take the time to integrate the natural flow of life into our cellular tissue. Instead of running from place to place or thinking about how much more we can fit into our day, walking allows us to exist in the moment.

Each step we take can lead us to becoming more mindful of ourselves and our feelings. Walking slows us down enough not only to pay attention to where we are in our body, but also to our breath. Taking time to simply notice our breath while we walk, through the length of our inhales and exhales, and becoming attuned to the way in which we breathe is taking a step towards mindfulness. When we become more mindful, we gradually increase our awareness of the environment around us and start to recognize that the normal flow of our thoughts and feelings are not always related to where we are in the present moment. Gradually we realize that the connection we have with the earth and the ground beneath our feet is all that is. By walking and practicing breathing mindfully we gain a sense of calm and tranquility -- the problems and troubles of the day slowly fade away because we are in the ‘now’.

The simplicity and ease of a walking practice allows us to create time, space and awareness of our surroundings and of the wonders that lie within. Taking a few moments to walk each day and become more aware of our breath will in turn open the door for the beauty of the world around us to filter in.

LET'S EXPOSE THE OBVIOUS MIRACLES, Part 2

You can drink a glass of water. You can spread butter on a slice of toast.
You can wash your hair and prune your plants and draw infinity signs on a
piece of paper. Your hands work wonderfully well! Their intricate force and
sustained grace are amply supported by your heart, which circulates your
blood all the way out to replenish the energy of the muscles and nerves in
your fingers and palms and wrists.

After your blood has delivered its blessings, it finds its way back to your
heart to be refreshed. This masterful mystery repeats itself over and over
again without you ever having to think about it.

Contemplate the unfathomable prowess of your digestive system.
Countless chemical reactions have to unfold with alacrity in order for it to
work as well as it does. The gastric juice has to be composed of just the
right mix of pepsin, rennin, mucus, and hydrochloric acid. The bile and
pancreatic juice must arrive at the right spot and at the right time. The
enterocytes in your small intestine always have to remember anew how to
carry out their uptake of ions, lipids, and peptides. How can they possibly
be so good at knowing exactly what to do and when to do it?

The circulation of blood and the conversion of food into fuel are just two
of many alchemical feats that the secret intelligence within you takes care
of. Thousands of other exchanges and transformations and syntheses are
ceaselessly working their wizardry inside your body without your
conscious participation.

+

You may sometimes take for granted the luxuriant variety of unique and
subtle aromas that come to you, but the truth is that you love your sense
of smell. You're also thrilled about your power to hear sounds, and taste
flavors, and touch textures. A few of these impressions repel or offend
you -- although even those are often interesting -- but the vast majority
ground you and gratify you.

Maybe you rarely celebrate the fact that you can think, but according to
my inside sources, the flash of mercurial codes through your brain is
among the universe's most dazzling accomplishments. Try to imagine the
colossal divine plan or the implausible series of fabulous accidents that
had to coalesce in order for you to be able to generate thoughts --
soaring, luminescent, liberating thoughts or shriveled, rusty, burrowing
thoughts ... thoughts that can invent or destroy, corrupt or redeem, bless
or curse.

Your capacity to experience emotions and passions and longings is one of
your most precious endowments. You may not exult in the waves of anger
or jealousy that sometimes ripple through you, but you're glad you have
the power to feel them. Your yearning for an impossible dream may feel
shattering, but you relish being able to accommodate that much intensity

FREE WILL ASTROLOGY
Week beginning November 25

Grammar key: Asterisks equal *italics*

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): It's Experiment with Your Self-Image
Week -- a time when it would be invigorating to shift and play with your
identity. During this reinvention phase, you might find you can change
yourself on the inside simply by rearranging yourself on the outside. So
have fun wearing clothes you've never donned before. Entertain yourself
with a new hairstyle. Speak in foreign accents or use words you don't
usually utter. Amuse yourself with a variety of novel approaches to
walking, laughing, gesticulating, and moving your face. Think of your
persona as a work of art that you love to tinker with.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): "It's not that some people have willpower
and some don't," said physician James Gordon. "It's that some people are
ready to change and others are not." That's why you may soon appear to
the casual observer, Capricorn, as someone who's able to call on
enormous reserves of willpower. According to my reading of the
astrological omens, you are now more amenable to change than you've
been in a long time. In fact, I suspect that in the coming weeks you'll be
willing and even eager to initiate transformations that seem heroic to
people who are addicted to the status quo.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): All belief systems, ideologies, philosophies,
and religions are mostly wrong, even though many of them have chunks
of useful information that contribute to the common good. Said another
way, absolutely no one has the whole truth, but pretty much everyone
has a part of the truth. Now it so happens, Aquarius, that your little
fraction of ultimate wisdom is currently clearer and stronger than usual.
That makes you especially valuable to your gang, family, or tribe. It
doesn't mean you should be the supreme arbiter of correct thinking
forever, but it does suggest that right now you should exert extra
leadership with forceful grace.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Think back over the course of your life and
identify any worthy ambitions that got irretrievably blocked or frustrated
or squandered. Once you've named those lost chances, do a ritual in
which you completely let go of them. As much as possible, give up all
regrets. Flush the sadness. Forgive anyone who interfered. Wipe the slate
clean. Only by doing this can you open the way to an opportunity that's
lurking just outside your awareness. And what exactly is that
opportunity? Even if I told you, you wouldn't know what I was talking
about. Your ability to find it requires you to do the preliminary work of
purging your remorse for missed opportunities.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Should you rely on hard facts or soft feelings?
Would it be advisable to trust your tried-and-true medicine or else a
potion brewed from the tongue of a snake, the feather of a crow, and a
mandrake root? Can you get better results by mingling with staunch allies
or with rebel upstarts who have a knack for shaking things up? Only you
can decide on these matters, Aries. My opinion? You'll probably generate
more interesting developments by going with the feelings, the mandrake
root, and the upstarts.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): "We cannot have any unmixed emotions," said
poet William Butler Yeats. "There is always something in our enemy that
we like, and something in our sweetheart that we dislike." I hope that's
OK with you, Taurus. In fact I hope you regard that as a peculiar blessing -
- as one of the half-maddening, half-inspiring perks of life on earth. The
fact is, as I see it, that you are in the thick of the Season of Mixed
Emotions. The more graciously you accept that -- the more you invite it
to hone your soul's intelligence -- the better able you'll be to capitalize on
the rich and fertile contradictions that are headed your way.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Louisiana porn star Stormy Daniels considered
running for a U.S. Senate seat in 2010, although she eventually dropped
out because it was too expensive. I admired one of her campaign
strategies: She went on a "listening tour," traveling around her state to
hear what potential constituents might want to tell her. I encourage you
to embark on your own listening tour in the coming weeks, Gemini. It will
be prime time for you to find out about everything you don't even realize
you need to know. Adopt a mode of maximum receptivity as you ask a lot
of questions. Wipe your mind clean of assumptions so you can get all of
the benefits possible from being innocent and curious.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): I love astrology. It excites my imagination and
helps ensures that my relationship with the world is never too literal or
prosaic. It anchors me in the paradoxical insight that although many
things are out of my control, I have huge amounts of free will. My study
of the mysterious meanings of planetary omens provides guidance, keeps
me humble, and is a constant reminder that poetry provides an
understanding of reality that's as useful as science. On the other hand,
astrology sometimes feels oppressive. I don't like any system, even one
as interesting as astrology, to come between me and the raw truth about
reality. I aspire to see the actual person who's in front of me, not be
interpreting everything she does through the lens of her horoscope. Now I
urge you to do what I've just done, Cancerian: Express your appreciation
for something in your life that provides beauty and power, even as you
also critique its downsides.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Bees pollinate apples. Butterflies perform the
same service for lilies and moths do it for tobacco. Horse chestnut
requires the help of hummingbirds to pollinate, wild ginger needs flies, and
oak trees depend on the wind. The world's largest flower, the rafflesia,
can be pollinated by elephants' eyebrows as the beasts use their trunks
to search for nectar. My point is that in the natural world, fertilization is
species-specific. Bees don't pollinate lilies and butterflies don't pollinate
horse chestnut. A similar principle holds true for you, Leo. Can you name
the influences that fertilize you? Now's a good time to get very clear
about that, and then seek out a more focused connection with those
influences.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Native Americans took care of the land better
than the white people who appropriated it, but they were by no means
masters of sustainability. Recent research reveals they had a sizable
carbon footprint, pumping lots of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
as they cleared and burned forests. (More info at
tinyurl.com/NativeCarbon.) Taking a cue from that little shock, I'm
encouraging you to see if there are aspects of your personal past that
should be reinterpreted. The astrological omens suggest that you'd be
wise to revise some of the stories you tell about what happened to you
way back when.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): British engineer John Reid wants to translate
dolphins' speech into human language. For years, he has been working on
the Cymascope, a machine that will help him analyze the basic patterns of
dolphin grammar and vocabulary. I encourage you to be inspired by his
efforts, Libra. It is now an excellent time for you to devote your ingenuity
to improving the way you communicate with alien species like black
sheep, fallen angels, feral mavericks, your mother-in-law, odd ducks, co-
workers who resemble raccoons and bears, and zombies who don't share
your political views.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): An African proverb says, "If you want to go
fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." I think that sums up
the choice you have before you. There is something to be said for going
fast; it may be that you can get as far as you need to go by starting
immediately and speeding along by yourself. On the other hand, the
distance you have to cover may be beyond your ability to estimate in the
early days. If you think that's the case, you might want to opt for the
slower-paced power of a joint operation.

This Week's Spell
It seems that a lot of people are interested in cleansing their spaces lately, and that means I'm getting a lot of questions about how to do it and what works best, so I thought I'd address it this week.

While sage is one of the best (if not the best) herbs to use, there are plenty of others that work just as well. Some people are offended by the smell of sage, even Lakota (the milder-smelling type). But there are some instances where you just can't burn sage, like when you're clearing the bad energy in an office, or someone's allergic to the scent.

Oils can do the trick in those cases. Burning oils in an
aromatherapy lamp, or even utilizing an aromatherapy ring on a lightbulb will work. The heat of the bulb or the candle will cause the oil to evaporate into the air. Sometimes just leaving a wide-mouthed dish out with the oil in it will do the same thing, especially if you place it in the Sun so the light will have the same effect. There are also oil ornaments in the store that work on the same principle. Come in for a demonstration!

We also have a couple of different sprays that will do the trick: Lavender, Sage, Sacred Space, and Ritual Mist will all clear the energy from your space.

As for scents other than Sage, try Lavender, Lemon, Sandalwood, Rosemary, Frankincense, Myrrh, Nag Champa, Cedar, and Pine are all excellent scents for cleansing. Use whatever scent you like. You have to smell it, so you should like it!

Fw: About Paganism / Wiccan: Religious Snarking Continues in Politic

Paganism / Wiccan Basics Celebrations Pagan Living

From Patti Wigington, your Guide to Paganism / Wiccan
Just when you thought politicians would finally shut up, they continue on about religion in office. Also this week, Barack Obama signs an order regarding church and state separations, Texas schools blur the line between the two, and parents are concerned that an eco-friendly play about Santa is actually pushing a secret liberal religious agenda. On a lighter note, a college offers a course based on the Harry Potter books, and (finally!) you can share your book reviews with other About Pagan/Wiccan readers! Have a magical week, and don't forget you can Follow Pagan/Wiccan on Twitter or Join Me On Facebook.

Religious Snarking Continues in Politics

Remember back during the election season, when there was all sorts of silliness in various races, in which candidates slammed one another for not being Christian enough? It became an issue in Hawaii's gubernatorial race, and the airwaves were rife with candidates trying to out-faith their opponents. One would assume, however, that now that everyone's either been elected or defeated, that this would come to a halt. Sadly, that assumption would be wrong. Why? Because in Texas, conservative Republican activists are trying to ... Read more

College Offers HP Ethics Course

The first book about a boy wizard named Harry was released in the US in 1997, which means that if you were an elementary school student (and part of the target demographic) then, you're probably a college student by now. Bridgewater State is tapping into that market by offering a sociology course based on JK Rowling's characters, and how they interact within the Potterverse. "The Ethics of Harry Potter" is a seminar that relates the ... Read more

Obama Signs Order Regarding Church/State Separation

President Barack Obama has signed an executive order which is intended to clarify ground rules for religious groups partnering with the federal government. The order states that religious organizations which receive federal dollars "must conduct explicitly religious activities in a time and place that are different from when and where they do government-financed work." However, the order also allows such groups to use their facilities to provide government-backed social services, without risking their funding because those facilities may include religious references. In other words, let's say the Church of the Holy Toaster Oven collects ... Read more

Reader FAQ: Pagans and Thanksgiving

A reader writes in with an interesting dilemma. He says, "My family wants to have a big Thanksgiving celebration, but I don't want to participate. I object to this holiday as a protest of the treatment of Native Americans by my white ancestors. Any ideas on how I can survive Turkey Day and still hold true to my Pagan ideals?" You know, you're not alone. There are some people in the Pagan community, and not just Native Americans, who feel that the day everyone calls Thanksgiving should instead be a day of ... Read More

Today's Goddess:  Gujeswari Gujeswari Jatra (Nepal)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:29 pm (PST)

Today's Goddess: Gujeswari
Gujeswari Jatra (Nepal)

Themes: Earth; Water; Abundance; Offering; Prayer
Symbol: A Bowl of Water

About Gujeswari: Gujeswari is a potent Nepalese goddess of earth and all its bounty, and today is her
festival day. In many temples, the goddess's presence is represented by a simple bowl of water, the life-
giving substance and purifier of body, mind, and spirit.

To Do Today: Buddhists and Hindus in this region honor the mother goddess Gujeswari today by giving her
offerings, usually preceded by fasting and prayer. Follow this example, and put a bowl of fresh water on your
altar or a special place where it won't be disturbed for the day. If physically feasible, abstain from eating one
meal today to honor the earth and Gujeswari's goodness by returning (or preserving) some of her bounty.
Otherwise, simply abstain from a favorite food for the day as a kind of sacred sacrifice.

At the end of the day, just before you go to bed, sprinkle the water from the bowl around your living space.
First, go counter-clockwise to banish negative energy that hinders free-flowing blessings. Then go clockwise,
allowing Gujeswari's water to cleanse and renew the ambiance in every room. If you have some left over, sprinkle
your pets (for health), your car (for safety in travel), and children's beds (to protect them from nightmares), and
dab some on mechanical objects to keep them working smoothly.

Fall Frost
By Ruby RedPepper

A bitter cold bites at my body today
as I wander about, stealing with my eyes,
the last greens of this summer past

the brisk air excites my senses
as I deeply drink in the smell
of the rich, wet musk of the earth

the crunch of the frost beneath my feet
echo in my ears and remind me that soon enough
all will be embraced in a icey blanket of white

I will await for the rebirthing of the spring
with the bright flame of Goddess
e'er warming my thoughts, soul & heart

Blessings.

Get Ready for Relatives Ritual
Incense of the day: Pine
.
Before leaving to be with family for the
holiday, take some time to energize and center yourself. Stand before
your household altar with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees
relaxed, arms loose at your side. As you breathe in, raise your arms in
front of you, keeping the rest of your body relaxed. See the air enter
your body, moving your arms upward to the height of your shoulders.
Simultaneously see a ball of protective light rise up from the ground,
encircling you. Allow the energy to continue over your head and down
your back. As you exhale, slowly lower your arms as you envision the
energy circle complete itself and return to the earth.

Thanksgiving Decorating with Nature - How To

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:32 pm (PST)

Thanksgiving Decorating with Nature - How To
by Cait Johnson, author with Maura Shaw of Celebrating the Great Mother
Inner Traditions, 1995

To help get us in a festive mood for the holiday feast, we've come up
with a dozen easy, fun decorating ideas, using only the abundant gifts
of nature.

Simple, non-toxic and absolutely gorgeous, these bountiful, beautiful
ideas are sure to please:

Centerpieces: Pumpkins and other winter squashes, Native American corn,
acorns, nuts, grapes, pears, pomegranates, and apples overflowing from a
wicker cornucopia or heaped in a wooden bowl look abundant and beautiful
in the center of your festal table.

Leaf coasters: Autumn leaves make great coasters to protect your
furniture from rings and stains. Oak leaves are especially tough,
leathery, and durable.

Natural napkin rings:Tie napkins with raffia and tuck in a pretty fallen
leaf and an acorn, or a cinnamon stick or two. Guests can add their
cinnamon to a pot of hot cider to sip on, later.

Simple arrangements: There is a beautiful Zen simplicity in a perfect
branch bearing colored leaves set into an earthen vase. Sometimes that's
all you need for a seasonal and dramatic focal point.

Pumpkin vase: Hollow out a pumpkin and place a cup inside to hold fresh
or dried flowers.

Pomanders: Start making them now so they'll be ready in time for
Yuletide gift-giving, tree-decorating, and home-scenting:
Using a darning needle, poke holes in lemons or small oranges,
tangerines, or apples and insert a clove in each hole. Place the
clove-studded fruits in a shallow baking dish filled with a mixture of
ground cinnamon and cloves, turning occasionally, until the fruits have
dried and hardened ( it speeds things along if you place them on top of
a radiator or refrigerator. Plus it will make your home smell heavenly!)
When they are "cured", dust them off, tie a pretty ribbon around them
if you like, and give as gifts, hang on the branches of your tree, or
place them in a bowl at pulse points in your home.

Grapevine: Gather grapevines and twist them into garlands or wreaths for
table, mantelpiece, doorway, or stairs. Add leaves and berries, if you
like.

Multiple fruits: Miniature pumpkins, apples, pomegranates, or pears
looks charming placed in a row on a bookshelf or mantel, or marching up
the stairs.

Leaf garlands: Stitch leaves together with heavy thread or tie bunches
together and wire them into a garland.

Fruit slices: Slice apples crosswise, thinly, and allow to dry in a warm
oven or on top of the radiator. Add to grapevine or leaf garlands.

Decorated votive holders: Glue or tie the following around the outside
of your glass votive candle holders: dried apple slices, cinnamon
sticks, cornhusks, autumn leaves.

Decorated tapers: Place tapers in shallow bowls filled with
beautifully-colored Native American corn, or place a ring of acorns
around them, or set them into hollowed miniature pumpkins or apples.

Festive lamps and lights: Glue a pretty leaf to a nightlight cover, or
add autumn leaves to a lampshade.

Native Corn: Thread the kernels of Native American corn to make pretty
jewel-like strings to hang in a doorway or place around a lampshade.

Prayer of Siberian Udegei

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:34 pm (PST)

Spirit Mother, hear my prayer!
Accept the offering we send
with the blood of our food.
We thank you for this elk
you sent. Its head is for you.
We kneel to you, we bow to you,
Spirit Mother. This is for you!
And now send another elk
right up from the riverbank,
right in front of our boat,
and let it neither see nor
hear us coming.
~Prayer of Siberian Udegei

This
Thanksgiving, why not give thanks in a different way? Give thanks for
all that the earth has given you. Give thanks for the food that keeps
you alive and which itself once lived. Give thanks for the beauty of the seasons. Give thanks for your own body and its pulsing life. Give
thanks for the sun that warms us, the moon that pulls us, the stars that call to us.

The planet provides for us at every instant. The intricate interconnection of
plant and human sustains us with every breath, when we take in the
oxygen plants breathe out, while we breathe out the carbon dioxide
plants need to live. Not only do we eat plants, either directly or
though consuming animal flesh, but plants also feed our lungs, our
bloodstream. With every breath we should thank our green relations for
their contributions. Thanksgiving does not come often enough for the
thanks we owe this earth.

Tofu Turkey

Tofu Turkey
.
Ok, you have all been asking...and if you haven't asked...I know you wanted to...here is that vegan alternative especially good for
Thanksgiving dinner! Serve with a vegetarian gravy and all the
fixings. Makes 10 servings. Enjoy!

* 5 (16 ounce) packages extra firm tofu
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 red onion, finely diced
1 1/3 cups diced celery
1 cup chopped mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 cup dried sage
2 teaspoons dried thyme
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary 1/4 cup tamari
3 cups prepared herb stuffing
1/2 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup tamari
2 tablespoons miso paste
5 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon honey mustard
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
3 sprigs fresh rosemary

Directions
1 Line a medium sized, round colander with a cheese cloth or a clean dish towel. Place the crumbled tofu in the
colander. Place another cheese cloth over the top of the tofu. Place the colander over the top of a bowl to catch the
liquid. Place a heavy weight on top of tofu. Refrigerate the colander, tofu and weight for 2 to 3 hours.
2 Make the stuffing: In a large frying pan sauté onion, celery and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons of the sesame oil until
tender. Add the garlic, sage, thyme, salt and pepper, rosemary and 1/4 cup of the tamari. Stir well; cook for 5 minutes.
Add prepared herb stuffing and mix well. Remove from heat.

3 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.

4 Combine 1/2 cup sesame oil, 1/4 cup tamari, miso, orange juice, mustard and orange zest in a small bowl; mix well.

5 Remove the weight from the tofu. Hollow out the tofu so that there is one inch of tofu still lining the colander.
Place the scooped out tofu in a separate bowl. Brush the tofu lining with a small amount of the miso seasoning.
Scoop the stuffing into the center of the tofu shell. Place the leftover tofu on top of the stuffing and press down
firmly.Turn the stuffed tofu onto the prepared cookie sheet.Putting the leftover tofu side of the "turkey" (the flat side)
down. Gently press on the sides of the "turkey" to form a more oval shape. Brush the tofu turkey with 1/2 of the
oil-tamari mixture. Place the sprigs of rosemary on top of the tofu. Cover the "turkey" with foil.
6 Bake for one hour. After one hour, remove "turkey" from the oven and remove the foil. Baste the "turkey" with the
remaining tamari-oil sauce (reserving 4 tablespoons of sauce). Return "turkey" to oven and bake another hour or until the
tofu turkey is golden brown. Place the tofu turkey on a serving platter, brush with the remaining tamari-oil mixture
and serve hot.
