What is love?

"When mystics use the word love, they
use it very carefully -- in the deeply spiritual sense, where to love is
to know; to love is to act. If you really love, from the depths of your
Consciousness,
that love gives you a native wisdom. You perceive the needs of others
intuitively and clearly, with detachment from any personal desires; and
you know how to act creatively to meet those needs, dexterously
surmounting any obstacle that comes in the way. Such is the immense,
driving power of love."
-- Eknath Easwaran

"Therefore, when I say that 'I love,'
it is not I who love, but in reality Love who acts through me. Love is
not so much something I do as something that I am. Love is not a doing
but a state of being - a relatedness, a connectedness to another mortal,
an identification with her or him that simply flows within me and
through me, independent of my intentions or my
efforts."
-- Robert A. Johnson

"When you are aware that you are the
force that is Life, anything is possible. Miracles happen all the time,
because those miracles are performed by the heart. The heart is in
direct communion with the human soul, and when the heart speaks, even
with the resistance of the head, something inside you changes; your
heart opens another heart, and true love is possible."
-- Don Miguel Ruiz

The Tiger
Beauty
Focus          Discipline

Take
a deep breath and let the spirit of the
tiger fill you.

Click here to listen to the Tiger's Song.

Strength and beauty combined, this is the great gift of the tiger.  She knows
her beauty and wears it well, walking with confidence, every movement a ballet
of grace and power.

The
tiger will teach you to love your own body and feel your own strength.  Breathe
in tiger energy and you will know the truth, that you are beautiful, just as you
are, exactly as you are.  Let confidence fill you as you fully realize your
beauty and fill with power.  You are the tiger.

The
tiger also brings you the powers of tenacity and discipline, for she  knows what
is important to her and stays focused upon it.  Let her fill you with the energy
required to follow through on what truly matters to you.   With her tireless
energy, you will not let a day go by without surveying what is important to you
and making sure that all is well.

Tiger
energy is also highly medicinal.  When you are not feeling well, breathe in her
healing powers and let them fill you, driving the toxins out of your body.  Over
time her strong immune system will infuse you with vibrant health.

Quiet
and strong, she will be your companion, resting comfortably in your heart, there
to give you courage and strength when you need it most.  Feel her there, now, in
your heart.

You
are the tiger.  All is well.

Quado's Garden: Meet Life Face to Face

Meet
Life Face to Face

There are times when life
presents obstacles in your path that seem enormous; you cannot see your way
past them, over them, or how to move them even one inch.

These are the times for you
to dig deep and find yourself.  These are the times for you to find your courage
and your strength, to pull out all that you are and show it to the world.

Nothing is gained by
feeling sorry for yourself or by asking, "Why me?"

Everything is gained by
digging deep and finding out who you are in the face of adversity.  Everything
is gained by testing your courage, strength and patience against whatever the
world tosses your way.  Everything is gained by believing in your strength and
the help that is there for you.

How can you know who you
are, if you do not know who you are when tested?  These are the times which
matter and you are equal to them, every one.  Dig deep into your well and you
will emerge stronger, truer and more full of love for yourself and for life
itself.  For when you meet life face to face, when you rise to meet each
occasion, no matter how frightening it may first seem, you and life will develop
a deep respect for each other, a respect which will turn to love over time.

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.'   The Universal Heart Center   http://www.freewebs.com/moshayra

A Thanksgiving Blessing

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

A Thanksgiving Blessing
November 25
Thursday
Thanksgiving Day

Color of the day: Crimson
Incense of the day: Myrrh

Family gatherings can be a challenge, but since Jupiter, the planet
that rules Thursday, inspires us to share our thoughts, beliefs, and
prosperity, it is the perfect day for a Thanksgiving spell. You don't
need to convert your family to the Pagan practice, but offer to say a
blessing when your family gathers for the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Sometimes the simple, nondenominational blessing is the most powerful,
speaking metaphorically to everyone gathered.
We give thanks for all
that we are blessed with democracy, peace, prosperity, and abundance.
Let us give thanks for the food that fuels us, the
abundant earth that has produced it, and our family that gathers in harmony to enjoy it.
Let each of us quietly reflect on the great riches that are ours, collectively and
individually.
As we gather here, let us be grateful for all we enjoy and share our bounty together.

Fw: DailyOM: Being Truly Thankful

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

DailyOM - Beyond Counting Blessings
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

November 25, 2010
Being Truly Thankful
Beyond Counting Blessings
When we are in the state of thankfulness, we are in a higher state of awareness, gratitude at our doorstep.

Often when we practice being thankful, we go through the process of counting our blessings, acknowledging the wonderful people, things and places that make up our reality. While it is fine to be grateful for the good fortune we have accumulated, true thankfulness stems from a powerful comprehension of the gift of simply being alive, and when we feel it, we feel it regardless of our circumstances. In this deep state of gratitude, we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself, and our thankfulness is part and parcel of our awareness that we are one with this great mystery that is life.

It is difficult for most of us to access this level of consciousness as we are very caught up in the ups and downs of our individual experiences in the world. The thing to remember about the world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unreliable. If we only feel gratitude when it serves our desires, this is not true thankfulness. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way. Illness and near-miss accidents can also serve as wake-up calls to the deeper realization that we are truly lucky to be alive.

We do not have to wait to be shaken to experience this state of being truly thankful for our lives. Tuning in to our breath and making an effort to be fully present for a set period of time each day can do wonders for our ability to connect with true gratitude. We can also awaken ourselves with the intention to be more aware of the unconditional generosity of the life force that flows through us regardless of our circumstances.

Goddess  Of The Day  :  Gujeswari Gujeswari Jatra (Nepal)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:50 pm (PST)

Goddess Of The Day : Gujeswari
Gujeswari Jatra (Nepal)

Themes: Earth; Water; Abundance; Offering; Prayer
Symbol: A Bowl of Water

About Gujeswari: Gujeswari is a potent Nepalese Goddess of earth and all its bounty, and today is her festival day. In many temples, the Goddess's presence is represented by a simple bowl of water, the life-
giving substance and purifier of body, mind, and spirit.

To Do Today: Buddhists and Hindus in this region honor the mother Goddess Gujeswari today by giving her offerings, usually preceded by fasting and prayer. Follow this example, and put a bowl of fresh water on your altar or a special place where it won't be disturbed for the day. If physically feasible, abstain from eating one meal today to honor the earth and Gujeswari's goodness by returning (or preserving) some of her bounty. Otherwise, simply abstain from a favorite food for the day as a kind of sacred sacrifice.

At the end of the day, just before you go to bed, sprinkle the water from the bowl around your living space. First, go counter-clockwise to banish negative energy that hinders free-flowing blessings. Then go clockwise, allowing Gujeswari's water to cleanse and renew the ambiance in every room. If you have some left over, sprinkle
your pets (for health), your car (for safety in travel), and children's beds (to protect them from nightmares), and dab some on mechanical objects to keep them working smoothly.

Since part of that didn't make it through, here's a repost.

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep
The leftovers beckoned--The dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation,
So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
Till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground!

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie,
But I managed to yell as I soared past the trees,

HAPPY EATING TO ALL!

PASS THE CRANBERRIES PLEASE.

Twas The Night of Thanksgiving

But I just couldn't sleep,
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned-
The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.

Tossing and turning,
with anticipation,
The thought of a snack,
Became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling,
So plump and so round,
'til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding,
And a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell,
As I soared past the trees...
"Happy eating to all-
Pass the cranberries, please".

May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey (or tofu) be plump,
May your potatoes 'n gravy,
Have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner,
Stay off of your thighs.
