Astarte

Astarte in her aspect as Warrior Queen exemplifies the independence and spirit that drives us to success, both in achieving goals and surviving life's battles.

AFFIRMATIONS
I am letting go of angerI am healthy and happyI am welcoming peaceI am determined to succeedI feel absolutely superchargedI see my course of action clearlyMy vital energy resurfaces naturally

Her Story

Babylonian, Assyrian and Phoenician goddess Astarte is honoured as the strong and wise Queen of Heaven.
In her warrior queen aspect, she wore the horns of a bull and rode into
battle behind her horses and chariots. She was also the Greek goddess of love and fertility, fire and productivity, war and victory and sexual prowess.

Astarte was at once maiden and mother goddess
whose energy is greatest at the time of a crescent moon. In her temple,
her sacred prostitutes co-resided with her priestesses, symbolising the
sanctity of women in all walks of life. Her priestesses were famous
astrologers who entered into sacred marriages with kings.

Her Modern Energy

In times of crisis, when our creativity and self-confidence is
threatened, Astarte's energy resonates to marshal our resourcefulness.
Astarte-inspired women have an uncanny knack to make the most of a
limited amount of resources.

Astarte used her inner strength and wisdom to fight her battles, but
as with all goddess deities, she has a dark side. Taking the warrior
image too far through hostility and violence only leads to
self-destruction.

If you are feeling threatened by a situation outside of you, be
careful before brandishing your sword to avenge a wrong done against
you. Explosive anger may satisfy the short-term need for revenge, but
Astarte calls on you to exercise wisdom.

Reconnect With Your Inner Astarte

Examine other ways you can achieve "victory" without hurting others. For
example, achieve success in an area that your adversary would never
expect - get that promotion, pay off that debt, or make peace with a
warring family member. Do it in a dignified manner, with patience,
respect and wisdom and all these attributes will come back to you
threefold in the way other people treat you.

What Would Astarte Do?

... If she were in your situation, she would make the most of her
resources, whether they be in abundance or not immediately obvious. She
would find clever ways to achieve victory with patience and respect for
everyone involved.

7 Steps to a successful e-Course
Share your light in 2011

Having already converted a couple of books into e-Courses (such as the
and , I get asked several times a week, "How do you do it?"

Rather than answer you all one-by-one, I thought I'd create a
step-by-step guide instead so you can decide if it's something you want
to do yourself.

1. Have a complete manuscript ready to go.

Make sure it has been edited and that you have a range of attractive graphics to pretty it up.

2. Revise your content.

e-Courses require shorter, bite-sized content rather than pages and
pages of content that a book has. So, get ready to pare down your
content to segments that take no longer than 10 minutes to read. If
necessary hire an editor to help you be objective. You'll probably be
able to find one at eLance or Guru at a price and style to suit.

3. Choose how you'd like to deliver your course.

My 7 Day Chakra Workout e-Course, for example, is delivered in bite-size pieces over 12 instalments, while my Goddess Makeover e-Course
(a course in personal values) is divided into 7 segments but delivered
in one hit. If you already have a database, ask them what they'd prefer
and tailor it to suit - easy!

Scottish Myths and Legends

Scottish Myths and Legends

Background

Scotland has a rich Celtic History
going back over 2,000 years, at a time when superstition was rife and
where unusual events were "explained" by stories and inventions which
were then passed on by word of mouth. It is therefore not surprising
that Scotland has an extensive heritage of myths and legends.

There is an introduction to Celtic Mythology and Celtic Folklore.
Finally, the Encyclopaedia of the Celts contains quotations from many of the historic and legendary events and people.

Spirits and Goblins

Encyclopedia Mythica is a huge
Web site covering many of the myths and legends around the world. With a
bit of digging, the specifically Scottish elements within the Folklore section can be uncovered :

Black Donald - the devil - who cannot disguise his cloven feet.
Boobrie - water-bird of the Scottish Highlands.
Brownie
- good-natured, invisible brown elves or household goblins. The younger
version of the "Girl Guides" in Britain at least, are called "Brownies"
for that very reason!

Clootie - another Scottish name for the Devil. The name comes from cloot, meaning one division of a cleft hoof.
Fachan - one leg, one arm and one eye.
Fionn - Scottish/Pictish magician, warrior and poet.
Ghillie Dhu - a solitary Scottish elf.
Kelpie - a water devil.
Lothian - Lothian traditionally takes its name from King Lot and father of Mordred.
Monster of Loch Ness - mythical? Surely not.... First seen by St Columba in 565 a.d.
Red Cap - lives on the Scottish Border in ancient ruins of castles.
Scotia - a goddess but frequently portrayed as an old hag!
Selkie - a marine creature in the shape of a seal.
Shellycoat - a Scottish bogeyman who haunts the rivers and streams. He is covered with shells, which rattle when he moves.
Sidhe the Gaelic name for fairies in both Ireland and the Highlands of Scotland.

Saints Preserve Us!

Legend tells us that a Scottish queen was given a ring by her husband.
But she gave it to a handsome soldier and the king found out. He came
across the soldier asleep by a river bank, took the ring, threw it in
the water and challenged his wife to produce the ring. St Mungo,
who was to become the patron saint of Glasgow, miraculously returned
the ring by catching the right salmon and finding it in its stomach. The
arms of the City of Glasgow now include a salmon with a ring in its
mouth (see graphic at the top of the page!).

Foretelling the Future

There is a long tradition of claims to be able to foretell the future
and having the ability to have Second Sight. The most famous of these,
was Coinneach Odhar, better known as the Brahan Seer, some of whose visions for the future are said to have come to pass. He foretold the site of the Battle of Culloden, the construction of the Caledonian Canal and the doom of the Mackenzies
of Seaforth while the "black rain" on Aberdeen is said by some to be
the coming of the oil industry. But his fame rests on a best-selling
book by Alexander Mackenzie published in 1877 and there is little
historical evidence for the seer or his prophecies!

Thomas of Ercildoune lived in the Scottish Borders 700 years ago.
He lived near the Eildon Hills - where Michael Scot the Wizard
instructed three imps to split the single hill into three (it is
actually one hill with three peaks). Thomas is supposed to have met the
Fairy Queen in the Eildon Hills and she made him to go to Fairyland for
three years. On his return he had the gift of poetry and prophecy and
usually made his prophecies in rhymes, similar to the more well known
Nostradamus. He thus became more popularly known as Thomas the Rhymer.
He is credited with predicting the Union of the Crowns which came to
pass in 1603. One of his rhymes was "Tide, tide, whate'er betide,
There'll aye be Haigs at Bemersyde". The Haigs did indeed last at
Bemersyde in the Borders for many centuries but the line died out in the
19th Century. It looked as though the prophecy had failed - until a
grateful nation bought Bemersyde for the World War I leader, Earl Haig - a distant relation.

Castles with Ghosts

Buildings with long histories tend to collect legends and stories like
the moss on their stonework. There have usually been some dire deeds
carried out within their walls which give rise to tales of ghosts and
tortured spirits still, occasionally, to be seen walking (or floating)
around. Scottish castles are no exception. Haunted Castles of Scotland provides an comprehensive selection but here are a few for starters:

Borthwick Castle, Lothian
- an apparition of Mary Queen of Scots, dressed as a page boy, is said
to appear; she escaped from Bortwick Castle in 1567 in a similar
disguise.
Braemar Castle
- said to be haunted by a blonde haired, pretty girl, possibly a newly
married bride who committed suicide because she thought her husband had
abandoned her. (A sighting of her was reported in 1987). The spirit of
John Farquharson of Inverey is also around - he is known as the "Black
Colonel".
Castle Fraser
- a young woman who was murdered in the castle in the 19th century and
dragged down the stairs before being buried. Her blood on the stairs
could not be removed.
Cawdor Castle, Invernesshire - the ghost of a lady in a blue velvet dress has been sighted and so has John Campbell, 1st Lord Cawdor.

Corgarff Castle - ghostly screams have been heard in the castle, but nobody has hazarded a guess at who, or what, is making them.
Craigievar Castle - the ghost here is of one of the Gordon family who was murdered by being pushed out of one of the windows of the castle.
Culzean Castle, Ayrshire
- a ghostly piper is heard when a Kennedy is getting married (the
castle used to be a Kennedy stronghold). Another ghost seen here include
a young woman dressed in a ball gown.
Edinburgh Castle
- needless to say many ghosts have been reported here, including a
headless drummer (seen in 1960), a ghostly piper and one of the dogs
buried in the pet's cemetery in the castle.
Eilean Donan Castle, Wester Ross
- A Spanish soldier, killed in the castle or in a nearby battle is said
to haunt the castle. And one of the bedrooms is haunted by a Lady Mary.
Kellie Castle - The spirit of Anne Erskine who fell from one of the upstairs windows is said to haunt a spiral staircase in the castle.
Skibo Castle
- although the present castle was built as recently as the 19th
century, it is on the site of much earlier buildings. A ghost of a young
girl used to haunt old castle. Bones were later found in the castle
walls and once they had been buried, the hauntings were never seen
again.
Stirling Castle
- Mary Queen of Scots appears here again - in the guise of the "Pink
Lady". There is also a "Green Lady" who appears as an omen of bad news
(green is an unlucky colour in Celtic mythology).

Mythical Objects

Many objects, other than castles, have accumulated their share of myths and legends. Some like the Grave Slabs and Pictish Stones and Stone Circles and Cairns have been around for a long time - well over 2,000 years. In particular, Megalithic Mysteries - Stones of Scotland
is an excellent collection of photographs of standing stones and
megalithic remains, emphasising the mystical aspects of these reminders
of the ancient inhabitants of Scotland.

The Fairy Flag of Dunvegan associated with Clan MacLeod
is said to be a scrap of cloth torn from the dress of a fairy who had
married a chieftain of the MacLeods but had to leave mortal life after
twenty years of marriage. Also at Dunvegan Castle
is "Rory Mor's Horn" from which a new chief must drink a bottle and a
half of claret in one go! According to the guide book for the castle,
the present chief achieved this - in under two minutes!

Legend has it that the Stone of Destiny,
or Stone of Scone, was used by Jacob in in Israel and was brought to
Scotland via Ireland. It was used by the kings of Dalriada at their
coronations and was taken to Scone around 840AD. King Edward I removed it to London in 1296 and it was placed under the throne in Westminster Abbey. It was returned to Edinburgh Castle in 1996.

The "Curse of Scotland" is the name given to a playing card, the
nine of diamonds. The Duke of Cumberland is said to have scribbled the
order to give "no quarter" on such a card before the Battle of Culloden. Others say that the derivation is from the coat of arms of John Dalrymple, 1st Earl of Stair who signed the order for the Glencoe Massacre.

And finally, no overview of Scotland's myths and legends would be complete without the Legend of Nessie! As mentioned earlier, he/she/it was first spotted by St Columba
in 565AD but most of the sightings have been in the last 100 years.
Perhaps this is due to the greater number of people looking out for the
monster or perhaps it is due to the growth in the Scottish tourist
industry? But Nessie is now so up to date that she now has her own Internet Diary!

Hi Friends,

I am Great Horned Owl, guardian of this Earth during this phase
of darkness. I am strong and fearless. I carry the power of the Sun
which allows my eyes to see through Outer darkness and deep
into the Soul.

My flight is Silent. I swallow my prey whole and head first. Call
on me when you are ready to enter your Shadow and discover the
secrets that are held there.

Go into the darkness behind closed eyes and allow yourself to
fully accept the Wisdom from each memory of feeling. I am also
able to reject and regurgitate all parts which do not nurture and
feed me. Accept the Whole as it is, but keep only those parts You
Choose. Be Patient.

Sitting on a tree or post I wait patiently for the appearance of that
which feeds my Highest Good. From the Heart of the Earth
Mother I offer you Great Courage, Strength and Respect on Your
Path.

Thank You Owl.

The Wings Of The Eagle
Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure
Mon Jan 3, 2011 6:43 am (PST)

Source: Linda Mottet

THE WINGS OF THE EAGLE A
tiny sparrow lived in fear of tomorrow. Free will was paralyzed, and
the sparrow was afraid to fly. One day, the sparrow found the courage
to speak honestly: A choice that set the sparrow free. The Wings
of the Eagle enveloped me and vanished every fear mysteriously, pouring
warmth and a sustaining peace. I was filled with an energy that at
times would increase. Crystal scenes of the world outside brought forth
the strength to lay all fear aside.A Crystal Vision of a world
within unveiled "peace and goodwill toward men." A time my mind was
reforming; a time for rest and healing. It was the hour to open the
womb and emerge from adversity's tomb. It was the hour to hear silence
spoken. It was time for all the binding chains to be broken. It was
the time to hear the Father's voice guiding and reassuring my choice.
My mind was absorbed into Unity, where I saw brothers and sisters
joining me. Spirit Mind began to release a celebration for love,
goodwill, and peace. Sending forth to a world to embrace, the Eternal
Presence of Grace. All fears and inhibition ceased, when by the Touch
of Spirit, Truth unleashed. The Wings of the Eagle enveloped me; this
tiny sparrow is forever free. excerpt from THE VIOLENT DREAMLinda Kay Mottet

Intro to the Law of Attraction: It has been stated in many ways over the centuries; what you release returns to you; do onto others as you would have them do unto you; like attracts like. The Law of Attraction is a Universal Law that affects us whether we understand it or believe it exists. Like gravity, it has certain observable principles we can work with to manifest lives of greater joy & abundance. In this workshop we will ...look at the The Law of Attraction & how it can be integrated into our way of thinking, choosing & living our lives.

The Elements  This
helps explain the 5 elements, the colors associated with each, and
simple symbols that can be used to represent them.  When we cast circles
for rituals, we call upon the elements to be present and protect us
during them. Tools, herbs and the desired outcomes of rituals and spells
all fall into different elemental categories. With elements playing
such an important part in our ways, it is important to take the time to
get in touch with them and gain an understanding of each.  Each posses
different and unique qualities. Becoming in tune with and enriching your
relationship with them. I found it years ago online but think the information is great. EarthThe

Pain Can Be A Mirror To our Greatest Power
Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

Source: Judith Lynn

It
is a Blessing to live without pain but it is possible to perceive the
worst pain of your existence as a doorway to Light...taking you to the
greatest Power of All. Showing you the true Self...Pain can be the
mirror for the deepest longing of your heart and lead the way for
realization of what you have arrived to accomplish.. .to show you that
you are stronger than you had ever believed...and that you can choose
Love over Fear each moment of your life as you create your destiny. Pain
can change your life in many ways. Choose to see the Love left after
pain settles and you will always arrive in a better place. You can find
Joy, Peace, and a deep appreciation for your life.
Namaste!

Greetings!!
Happy 2011!!!We made it!
The New Moon is Upon Us...
Create Consciously,
With Love from
the Heart

My psychic friend Heide gave me a message from her guides the other day that was driving me crazy for 3 days. She said, "Be careful where you put your energies now". Hmmmmmm. That could mean a million things! Talk about frustrating! Then I sat down to write my newsletter, and WOW! The planetary events that are occuring right now are most extraordinary, and yes, being careful where we put our energies now could make a HUGE difference in how we manifest this beautiful new year!

This is a very auspicious time. The planetary influences that are occurring on January 3rd & 4th are some of the most important aspects for 2011. That's extremely exciting considering we've only just begun the new year!

The new moon, which is a time for initiating new things into your life, occurs in Capricorn, making this a great
time to focus, prepare your goals, work on new career ideas, and initiate projects.

The Jupiter/ Uranus conjunction in Pisces, which also occurs on the 4th, adds a beautiful flavor of positive surprise. Imagine Uranus, the planet of change originality, sudden events, opportunity, and the flash of inspiration and genius, being in alignment with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, good luck, success,
and generosity! It's amazing and ANYTHING can happen! This is definitely the time to DREAM BIG!

Even if you think your idea is ridiculous, put it down on paper and put your intent on it. Use this Pisces influence to put your dreams out there now. In June, when these planets meet again in fiery Aries, you will see results. This is the time to tell the universe you are ready to realize that which brings you JOY!

AND we're not done yet! Now add to the mix a solar eclipse in Capricorn. A solar eclipse adds extra-intense energy, and on a new moon, it marks the beginning of an important and dramatic period. It's time to initiate projects and be smart about HOW you achieve what you want. Decide what you want to be responsible for -- and what you don't -- and take action to make your life secure through tangible, practical goals. As the Moon increases in light between this eclipse and the next full Moon on January 19, put your energies toward anything you want to see become stronger in your life. With expansive Jupiter and independant Uranus by your side, you will have an opportunity to see the power of your dreams.

Be sure to check in with all this energy on Monday Jan. 3rd and put a pen and paper by your bedside. You wouldn't
want to miss the chance to write down your dreams that night. With the Pisces influence, your "Higher Self" will definitely be 'in gear'. You might also want to journal what is going on around you at this time, who you're meeting
and speaking with, and what's going on in your mind. Ideas will come out of nowhere, and your intuition will be on 'high-volume' , especially if you have a water sun sign or moon sign. Most importantly, PAY ATTENTION! The negative side of all this energy may be that you feel overwhelmed. To counter-balance that effect, write down as much as you can to get it out of your head and onto paper. Think about "What can I focus on that will bring more joy into my life?" "What options do I have to make my life easier?" By June, when you look back at this time, you will see the synchronicity of events. Think positive! All the planets are direct, all systems are "GO"!

Today's Goddess: CALLISTO Chilseong-je (Korea)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411
Mon Jan 3, 2011 8:26 pm (PST)

Today's Goddess: CALLISTO
Chilseong-je (Korea)

Themes: Instinct; Protection; Flexibility
Symbols: A Bear; a Willow Branch; the Constellation Ursa Major

About Callisto: Appearing sometimes as a she-bear guarding her cubs, the Greek goddess Callisto reinspires the natural instincts with which we have lost touch and illustrates the intensity of maternal love. Her other name is Helic, which means "to turn" or "willow branch"; she thus has the power to help with personal transformations. In mythology, Callisto became Ursa Major while pregnant with Zeus's child. Artemis changed her into a bear, along with her son, who became Ursa Minor.

To Do Today: In Korea, the festival of Chilsong-je begins at midnight with an offering of white rice and water to the seven stars (Ursa Major). This gift ensures Callisto's assistance when needed throughout the coming months. If you can't stay up till midnight, just leave the rice and water in a special spot before you go to bed.

From her celestial home, Callisto stands ready to protect us in the new year and provide us with adaptability as a coping mechanism. To encourage this, carry a silver or white stone bear, or a piece of dried willow wood. Bless this token, saying:
Callisto, release in me the power of flexibility.

Where'er I carry this little charm, keep me ever safe from harm.
If these tokens aren't handy, you can substitute any white or silver item, or a hand-drawn picture of Ursa Major (the Big Dipper).

Daily Aromatherapy Tip

Lymphatic Massage

This is a great time to start to detoxify the body and a great way to assist your Immune System
and increase your rate of healing.

Aromatherapy Lymph Massage Oil
8 drops Lemon essential oil
8 drops Grapefruit essential oil
6 drops Bay Laurel (Lauris nobilis)or Rosemary essential oil
2 oz. carrier oil
Combine and use for a lymphatic massage.

The essential oils help move congested lymph helping to cleanse the liver, reduce water retention and improve immunity.

Lymph nodes are located around the body, in the throat, groin, breasts and under the arms.
They are like filtering centers for cleansing the blood.

Lemon, Rosemary and Grapefruit are especially good at stimulating movement and supporting the cleansing action.

You can even give yourself this treatment. Rub the massage oil up the arm to your lymph nodes.
From the center of the chest, rub again toward your arm pit and then down your neck.
Massage your legs from your feet up to your groin.

Homeric Hymn For Demeter
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411
Mon Jan 3, 2011 8:29 pm (PST)

When grief strikes a mother,
there is no end to it.
The earth parches, its
glittering waters gone.
Everything is barren. Cattle starve
for lack of grain. Nothing grows.
Even the gods are destitute,
even the altar flames blow out.
Such is a mother's grief, bitter
and endless, for her lost child.
~Homeric Hymn For Demeter

This was the night, in
ancient Greece, when the Haloa was marked, a festival of the mother
goddess Demeter's grief for the loss of her daughter Persephone, also
called Kore, the maiden. Stolen away by the god of the underworld,
Persephone has been absent from the earth for many months. During that
time her mother, in her intense sorrow, has withheld from humanity the
gifts of grain and fruit.

During the winter we
feel the deprivation of sunlight and warmth. And during our soul's
winters, too, we feel distant from happiness. Yet life cycles back to
spring eventually, and our lives will cycle back toward happiness as
well. As the ancient Greek women did, let us mark today as a day when,
no matter how cold life seems, we know that new life will ultimately
spring anew.

Number Eleven possesses the qualities of intuition, patience, honesty,
sensitivity, and spirituality, and is idealistic. Others turn to people
who are 'Eleven' for teaching and inspiration, and are usually uplifted
by the experience.

In systems such as Astrology and basic Numerology, eleven is considered
to be a Master Number. Eleven can also represent sin; transgression and
peril. Ten being the perfect number, eleven represents the exceeding of
both.

It is interesting to note that eleven when broken down ( 1+1=2)
comprises the Two of duality.

Number eleven is a master vibration and as such should not be reduced
to a single number.People with this number could be both idealistic and
visionary, and they are attracted to the unknown. They can be both
unusual, interesting and magnetic personalities.

Eleven bring the gift of spiritual inheritance, is gifted as the
"Light-Bearer". It is the number of the Light within all. Strengthened
by the love of Peace, gentleness, sensitivity and insight. Greatest
facility is the awareness of Universal relationship. Is related to the
energy of Oppositions and the Balancing needed in order to achieve
synthesis.

Eleven is The PeaceMaker... Colours : Gold, Salmon, Prune, White and
Black.

Determining Your Life-Path Number

Let us say that you were born on March 29, 1968.

March is the third month--3

the day 29, 2+9 totals 11

the year 1+9+6+8 totals 24 which reduces [2+4] to 6

Now add 3 with 11 [11 being a Master Number does not reduce]=14 +6=20

Drop the zero, and you have 2 as your Life-Path Number.

Many Blessings,

Blue Ridge Beltane 2011

.
We are pleased to announce a most wonderful venue for this year's Blue Ridge Beltane Festival--and hopefully the venue for years to come. This year's festival will be at:
Stoney Creek Resort
277 Lake Drive
Greenville, VA 24440
Check them out online at www.stoneycreekresort.net to see pictures of the land, check all the great amenities, get directions, see the menu to their on-site restaurant, and much more!
You're going to love Stoney Creek Resort! The owners can't wait to welcome us to the land and even join in some of the festivities!
Stoney Creek has something for everyone. Thanks to their great on-site restaurant, which offers meat and vegetarian dishes, we are working on a meal plan that we can offer this year. Many of the campsites have
electricity at no extra charge--they will be offered on a
first-come-first-served basis. There is a lake for swimming, a club house if it gets rainy, miniature golf, volleyball, and many other recreational activities.
One of the best things of all about Stoney Creek is the layout. Thanks to Stoney Creek's wonderful land and the smart layout of the campground, we'll have a mostly self-contained stretch of land that won't require much walking to get from one activity to another. There will be lots of showers and bathrooms. You can find more, including maps, at their Web site.
We would like to extend our thanks to the family owners of Stoney Creek Resort for welcoming us with open arms. We also want to welcome all of you to join us at this incredible campsite, nestled in one of the most beautiful (and still accessible) areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, for what promises to be the best Blue Ridge Beltane Festival to date!

Thanks,

Goddess of The Day:  GANGA Hindu Solstice (India)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Jan 11, 2011 9:06 pm (PST)

Goddess of The Day: GANGA
Hindu Solstice (India)

Themes: Cleansing; Health; Mercy
Symbol: Water, Yellow-colored Items

About Ganga: As the Hindu Goddess of the river Ganges, Ganga represents purification, welness, and benevolence in the new year. Legend has it Ganga came to earth upon hearing the cries of people who were dying from drought. Shiva divided Ganga into seven streams so she would not flood the earth upon her arrival. Part of this stream remained in the heavens as the Milky Way, and the rest flows through India as the river Ganges, where the Goddess lives. Art depicts Ganga as beautiful, controlling the makara (a sea monster on which she stands), with water flowing all around her.

To Do Today: In India, people gather on the river Ganges on this day and bathe in the waters for health, protection, and forgiveness from ten sins. They welcome spring's approach during this festival by wearing yellow clothing and coloring food, like rice, with saffron. To adapt this tradition and prompt Ganga's blessings, wear any yellow-toned stone (like citrine), and/or eat rice as part of any meal. Adapt your shower, tap, bath, hose, or lawn sprinkler to substitute for the river Ganges. As you stand beneath the water, visualize any figurative dirt being washed away down the drain.

Ice Magic Spell

Ice Magic Spell

One of the greatest natural forces of our planet is ice. It created the
valleys and carved the canyons. It freezes the lakes and ponds until
they are smooth as glass. Since ice is related to the element of water,
it is ideal for spells when you want to cleanse yourself of a bad habit
or problem. To use ice in spell work, try this. Write your habit or
problem on a small piece of white paper using blue ink. Fold the paper
small enough to fit into the cube of an ice cube tray. Add water; freeze the paper. When you feel the time is right, take the ice cube
containing your handwritten problem and throw it into a fire. As the ice melts, so will your problem.

Goddess OF The Day: MIELIKKI Tyvendedagen (Norway)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Jan 11, 2011 9:09 pm (PST)

Goddess OF The Day: MIELIKKI
Tyvendedagen (Norway)

Themes: Change; Providence
Symbols: Bear; Grain; Woodland Plants

About Miellikki: The Finnish Goddess of game, hunting, and the forest,
Mielikki protects our resources during the remaining cold season by
keeping the pantry filled. As the Goddess of abundant grain, she also
encourages the return of fertility to the earth.

To Do Today: Go into your kitchen and get a small handful of any
grain-based cereal. Take this outside and release a pinch of it to the
earth, saying,

Mielikki, see this grain and bless, return to earth in fruitfulness.
Hear the prayer that fills my heart; to my home, providence impart.
Take the remaining pinch back in the house and store it in an airtight
container, symbolically preserving your resources.

Tyvendedagen means "twentieth day after Christmas." In Norway, today
marks the official end of the Yule season. It's celebrated with races,
sleigh rides and the storage of ornaments and by burning the Christmas
tree to drive away winter. So, when you dismantle your Yule tree, keep a
jar full of its needles handy. Burn these throughout the year to banish
frosty feelings or to warm up a chilly relationship. The pine smoke,
being from a woodland tree, also draws Mielikki's attention to any
pressing needs you may have. )0( By Patricia Telesco From "365 Goddess"

Dispersing Bath Oils

Dispersing Bath Oils

For those of you with oily skin or if you just dislike those oily thick bath oils read on.

To get an essential oil to disperse rather than just float on top of the bath water
you need an emulsifier. An egg yolk is an excellent emulsifier or try
sulfated castor oil, also known as Turkey Red Oil, which is water soluble.
Use about 1 teaspoon of this to each bath adding your essential oils to the bath.
Swish to mix. Enjoy!

Spell for Psychic Housecleaning

Spell for Psychic Housecleaning
By: Barrie Dolnick

This spell is preferably performed during a waning moon but can be cast as needed for cleansing during any moon phase.

Any evening after sunset,
light the end of a sagebrush stick.
Have a glass of water and a bowl
containing a shallow pool of water nearby.
Blow out the flame and blow on the ambers
of the stick to increase the smoke.
In each room of your house, blow smoke in each of the four directions.
Blow gently upon the burning stick
as you face each wall of the room.

Say Aloud:
I clear this space of all negativity
and of the energy of people or things
that have no purpose in our household.
I ask that this clearing be gentle
and that all of this energy be returned to its source.

When you are done with your whole house,
return to the room your started in.
Take the stick and dip it into the shallow
bowl of water to douse the embers.
Take a sip of water from your glass.

Say Aloud:
This home is a gentle and supportive environment.
I offer gratitude to the universe that this is don.

So be it.
And it is so.

Siberian Shaman Prayer

The Goddess Companion"

Mother, Goddess, show me the secrets of my heart.
Show me where I have wandered off my path.
Show me how to find my path again.
Fly before me, illuminating my path.
Fly before me, showing me the broad road
into my best future. Show me the way!
Prepare the way for my searching feet!
O mother of light, you who dwell in the south
on nine wooded hills, O show me the way!
~ Siberian Shaman Prayer

Life is an endless search for truth. Even those who have known the holiest
mysteries spend most days wandering, trying to find the way back to the
truths that, in moments of illumination, seemed so perfect, so
indisputable.

Our lives are lived in the dull space between bright flashes of knowledge.
And the truth of our lives rests there: in how we continue, day after
day, to follow the path the Goddess has set out for us.

For each of us, our path will be a new one, one never trodden by another
before us. Each of us an explorer, finding a new way to truth and
beauty. On those days when we doubt ourselves (and there will be many),
we must put our trust in the Goddess to illuminate the way before us.
The same inner knowledge that once brought us to her presence will light our path on the dim days when cares and tasks seem to block the way to
her.
