8:00 am - 9:00 am
(This event repeats every year.)
Notes:
"Each Witch's way of honoring and invoking the Divine will have personal, cultural, and traditional overtones. for instance, in the mornings you might light a candle to welcome Spirit (to say "good morning," if you will). It's a small but meaningful touch. As in all magickal things, simplicity isn't the issue-intention is."

I cannot read Tarot but Runes and I have completely connected. I see images. One reading I was doing for some folks was all over the place. I kept getting almost two different stories. As it turns out the second story was for her partner standing there watching us. For some reason the runes wanted to pass him a message but he did not believe in them so did not want to sit with me for a few.
That reading was so scattered but not charging so we all laughed about it once I realized what was going on.

Black Teas
for certain medical conditions - we didn't associate it with my flares or knew I had MS for the 38 years

Having MS I discovered after years of drinking enough Earl Gray to float a battleship that it was not good for me - the tannin is bad for you.
A good friend who is an RN and a Reiki Master Teacher told me - all those years drinking Earl Gray together - oh well, this last month I gave into a heart sister and started drinking green tea with local honey and my usual cider vinegar and I love it.
The local honey is for allergies and helps stomach problems - the dark vinegar keeps my pH where it needs to be and helps my stomach - heartburn, GERD, and Acid Reflux
The green tea in bottles is too sweet. The local honey doesn't mess with blood sugar or add calories.

Black Teas
There are four main categories of tea which are drunk the world over. These categories are White tea, Green tea, Oolong tea and Black tea. Of these four you will find that many varieties of Black teas are favorites with numerous people. The distinctive taste prevalent in the different Black teas comes from the way that they are processed. During the processing of the tea leaves the leaves are heavily oxidized and fermented. It has a higher caffeine content and is stronger in flavor than the other teas varieties.
The common name of "black" tea for the different variety of Black teas comes from the tea leaves themselves. After the leaves have been plucked and processed they turn a black color. When poured however, most Black teas will have a dark amber hue to them.
When you buy certain types of tea there is normally a time limit that you can keep the tea before it loses its freshness and taste. Black teas on the other hand can be kept for several years before they spoil. It is for this reason that Black teas are favored in the shipping of tea.
The various types of Black teas that you can choose from come from a variety of different countries and regions. All of these Black teas have been given names based on the locations where they were grown. There are a number of different types of Black teas but the main ones that you can choose from are,
a.. Nilgiri tea
b.. Assam tea
c.. Lapsang Souchong
d.. Earl Grey
e.. Darjeeling tea
In addition to these Black teas you will find other interesting blended Black teas. For instance like the Black tea which has been blended with Italian liqueur. Of the different Black teas you will find that Bigelow teas are considered as being the most fragrant of the Black teas. For a taste of Almonds and Cinnamon you can choose to drink Almond Biscotti flavored and scented Black tea.
When you choose to drink Black tea you will be also receive some health benefits. The various types of Black teas can gently stimulate the heart and the circulatory system. The cholesterol levels in your body can be lowered, the blood in your body is regulated, and Black teas also help to keep the blood vessels soft. Additionally you will find that drinking Black tea can prevent strokes as well as heart diseases.
With all of the benefits you can get just from drinking a cup of Black tea it is no wonder that this tea variety is favored by many. The different types of Black teas which you can choose from will provide you with a wide selection to tempt your palette each time you look to this soothing beverage for some relaxation. - 3b.

oddball question.. does coffee /,even de-caff> have tannin in it? my
roommate has MS, and last year her drink of choice was frappuccinos from
Starbucks... extra whip cream and cinnamon sugar powder. i'm wondering if
there is a correlation between the drinks and her MS relapses last year? she
quit them totally, and has not had a relapse since she did.....-Deardre

Fw: [TheOldWorldWitches] Psychic Attack

From: sylbhraven
Psychic Attack
Psychic Attack
When an attack takes place, the Psychic Vampire receives an energy surge while the victim experiences fatigue. People who "suck" the energy of others are called "psychic vampires." This "sucking" takes place when one's energy is depleted and needs to be replenished so he or she "sucks" the energy of another person. It is not unusual for a person who is ill or feeling inadequate emotionally to draw upon or deplete energized individuals of their life force. These "suckers" are not bad people, most of them are not aware on a conscious level that they are doing what they are doing. Still, their unknowing actions can play havoc with anyone who leaves an energetic opening for this type of thievery. It is important for us to be aware that we may be susceptible to having our energies stolen from us and learn ways to protect ourselves. The harm in a psychic attack is that there is no fair exchange of energy and therefore one feels depleted while the other becomes energized.
Symptoms of Psychic Attack
leaky or diminishing aura dizziness loss of energy muscle tension mental confusion headaches chronic fatigue sleep disturbances irritability depressed mood physical illness You begin to see others or one person receive your wishes and desires on a regular basis.
Traits of a Psychic Vampire
experiences feelings of abandonment or rejection needs constant reassurance never feels satisfied seeks nurturing low energy - fatigued Insecurity low self esteem usually overweight/underweight
Protection Against Psychic Attack
Become aware of what individuals deplete your energy and limit your contact with them.
Visualization Techniques - Build walls of protection or create a bubble of light surrounding your auric field.
Crystal Shields - amulets for protection

Fw: [StormysBookofShadows] Being a Witch ~

Being a Witch
I am a Witch. I am seen in many forms, I am a young maid, a loving but firm mother, an old hag, an Appalachian granny, a Hoodoo mama, a priestess of old Gods and Goddesses, a battle sister for the earth, a coiling Shakti snake I am a Witch. My worship is communing with the Divine through Nature. I try to grow vegetables and herbs in the earth so that I might use the healing powers that exist within Nature to help myself and others.
I am a Witch. I perform my rituals in Sacred places that I create or that already exist indoors and outdoors. The four Watchtowers with the Elemental Powers and their Guardians are forever with me to aid and guard me. I eternally stand in the Crossroads between the Cosmos above, the Planet below, and the Spiritual within. I am whole within the Universe.
I am a Witch. I journey in meditations, rituals, and dreams. I use hallowed and consecrated tools to aid me on my magickal journeys. These include cauldrons, crystals, candles, incense, ritual oils, water, salt, soil, feathers, bells, brooms, rattles, drums, wands, staffs, blades, mirrors, Tarot cards, and Rune stones. My spirit travels throughout Time and Space; and I return from my journeys with insight, knowledge, and power. I go between the three worlds to heal, grow, and transform. Empathy, compassion, understanding, and mercy are natural, not supernatural, and they are a part of my daily life.
I am a Witch. I follow the Seasons and the Elements and the Circle of Life. I endeavor to keep all parts of my Self healthy and balanced. I work to restore balance in my environment and in Nature. I hear the anguish of Mother Earth, saddened with the damage being done to Nature by humankind. I am alarmed by pollution and destruction of the Air, the Earth, and the Waters. I am dismayed by the Spiritual pollution of hatred, greed, bigotry, intolerance, racism, addiction, violence ,and despair. I work and conjure each and every day to restore balance, peace and harmony in the lives of others and the Planet. I try my best to live each day in harmony with others and with Nature.
I am a Witch.

1st grader's
A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child with the first half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the second half. It's hard to believe that these were actually done by 1st graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic.
1. Don't change horses until they stop running.
2. Strike while the bug is close.
3. It's always darkest before Daylight Saving Time.
4.. Never underestimate the power of termites.
5. You can lead a horse to water but How?
6. Don't bite the hand that looks dirty.
7. No news is impossible.
8. A miss is as good as a Mr.
9. You can't teach an old dog new maths.
10. If you lie down with dogs, you'll stink in the morning.
11. Love all, trust me.
12. The pen is mightier than the pigs
13. An idle mind is the best way to relax.
14. Where there's smoke there's pollution.
15. Happy the bride who gets all the presents
16. A penny saved is not much.
17. Two's company, three's the Musketeers.
18. Don't put off till tomorrow what you put on to go to bed.
19. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and you have to blow your nose.
20. There are none so blind as Stevie Wonder.
21. Children should be seen and not spanked or grounded.
22. If at first you don't succeed get new batteries.
23. You get out of something only what you see in the picture on the box.
24. When the blind lead the blind get out of the way.
25. A bird in the hand is going to poop on you.

Today's Goddess: Bon Dammes Summer Holiday (United Kingdom)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:27 pm (PDT)
Today's Goddess: Bon Dammes
Summer Holiday (United Kingdom)
Themes: Rest; Pleasure; Fairies; Playfulness; Youthfulness
Symbols: Any Fairy Plants (Foxglove, Primrose, Oak, Thorn, Ash)
About the Bon Dammes: The Bon Dammes are devic Goddesses in Brittany that appear much like
fairies and often act with as much impishness. Having a kindly nature,
the Bon Dammes inspire playful, youthful outlooks to take with us into
early fall with childlike wonder in our hearts.
To Do Today: Follow the custom of all regions in the United Kingdom (except
Scotland) and take a day off today. Enjoy family outings and a little
leisure before the warm weather really starts to fade. Sleep in a bit,
ask for a few hours off from work, get outside and play with the Bon
Dammes. Leave them gifts of sparkling stones, honey, and sweet bread
beneath any flower or tree that captures your eye and makes you smile.
In return, the Bon Dammes will make sure your day is filled with
pleasurable surprises.
Think about an activity you really enjoyed as a kid, and recapture that moment sometime today. Jump down a hopscotch board, play tag with the wind, climb a tree
(carefully, please), pick buttercups, go berry picking, skinny-dip in a
stream, or do whatever re-inspires the Bon Dammes's youthfulness in your heart. You'll find that this moment refreshes your entire outlook and
provides extra energy for the days ahead. By Patricia Telesco From "365 Goddess"

Ovid, Metamorphoses
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:40 pm (PDT)
The maiden Goddess, Proserpine,
was innocent, uncalculating.
She strolled the formal gardens
of the king of death, her captor.
There she saw a pomegranate
which, plucking, she tore open.
Beneath its yellow skin she found
blood-red seeds. She swallowed seven.
~Ovid, Metamorphoses
We are moving toward
the season when the harvest is over and night again shrouds the earth.
In the great ancient tale of Demeter and Persephone - Ceres and
Proserpine, in the Roman tongue - the change of seasons is described as a separation of mother and daughter. Demeter is the earth itself, the
all-mother; Persephone is the vegetation that blooms and flourishes for
only part of the year.
When Persephone is
taken from her, mother Demeter goes into such mourning that no plants
grow; winter descends upon the earth. Persephone spends that season as
the queen of death. Some say that, in the most ancient of these myths,
the daughter was not taken forcibly from the mother's side, but rather
chose to go beneath the earth to serve the dead. Demeter's grief at
separation from her daughter is not diminished in this reading of the
myth, but Persephone's role becomes more powerful and positive. She is
as powerful as her fruitful mother, as gentle and sustaining, only hers
is the realm beneath the earth while Demeter's is the visible world. As
we enter the season of darkness, let us hope that a kindly face like
Persephone's awaits us there.

i know i have not said anything yet on the subject, but i wanted to check up
on you, and see how things are going. I hope you are feeling better still,
and that therapy went well. Therapists are like children, they have few
preconceived notions, and sometimes they make you take a step back to ask
yourself all the questions you would if you were still a child.
Remember to take care of yourself, and build yourself back up first.
Relationships (sometimes unfortunately) come and go, but YOU are there
forever, and deserve respect and love from yourself. -Deardre
