"http" & "https" - Do YOU Know The Difference ?

"http" & "https" - Do YOU Know The Difference ?

Once in a while, there is something very simple, but of real importance.

What is the difference between http and https ?
Don't know how many of you are aware of this difference, but it is worth sending to any that do not.....

**The main difference between http:// and https:// is it's all about keeping you secure** HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol

The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".. If you visit a website or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http:///. ;

This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecured language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.

You understand why this is so important, right?

If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card
information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://.

If it doesn't, You should NEVER enter sensitive information....such as a credit card number, SS # etc.

PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief!!!).

~ Harvest Your Dreams Spell ~

By James Kambos

The first harvest of the season has begun in rural areas around the world. But what about your own personal harvest? Have your dreams come true? Are you any closer to achieving your goals? This spell will help get you headed in the right direction.

Begin by looking through old magazines and cut out photos representing your goal - the picture could be of a new house, a new car, or it could be a photo depicting someone working in a job you'd like to have.

Spread the photos out in front of you. Have an attractive box on hand decorated any way you wish. Look at the photos and say,

"These are my dreams.
These are my wishes.
Bring them to me in the most positive way."

Now reach out with your power hand; draw each picture toward you, one by one. Put them in your box and forget about them for a while. Wait and see what happens.

Fw: [TheOldWorldWitches] ~*~ Faery charm ~*~

~*~ Faery charm ~*~

This offering can be used as a daily prayer or ritual invocation. To begin, find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. You may want to light a Faery Candle to help you draw in the energies of the Sidhe. Sit comfortably, relaxing your body with rhythmic breathing. Allow your mind to settle, releasing any errant thoughts. When you feel completely calm and at peace, ring a small bell three times, and begin your prayer. As you speak, visualize images of the Good Folk. See the light of their spirits gathering all around you. Say the prayer one or three times, and then ring the bell seven times. Wait in silence for any communion or communication the Faery might offer.

Mist-clad in the light of the moon
Starspun seekers - I search for thee!
Faery light - I ask thy boon
Of branch and thorn and Elder tree!
Wood woven creatures, shadow weavers
River keepers - come to me!
Just beyond reaching
Never in keeping
Spirits of Faery - I call unto thee!
Wind-hewn wildness
Dark and brightness
Spiral enchantments - born of the sky!
Cradle me with elven hands,
Abide with me, thy human child!

When you are ready to return to your ordinary consciousness, ring the bell three times and with deep full breaths, inhale vital energy and vitality. Record any special experiences in a journal so that you will retain them in full
detail.
Leaving an offering for the wee folks.

btw, https servers are run by providers that are required to record ALL THERE TRAFFIC. While the cryptography behind the S reduces the number of hackers that could rip you off (for the time being) it also indiecates that every jot and titles you send and every thing you look at are a matter of public record and can be accessed by the der homblant suck-your-ity peoples.

Feel secure yet?

This is not correct. I absolutely know this because I run one and i don't record anything. The server
is at my house, on my computer. We also treat https and http traffic exactly the same at work. It may
be that some places require records but not here. Of course it is possible that an upstream provider
records the traffic without me knowing about it.

Rowen,
what make? apache, MS or what?

or also, if your are running a server from your home, what sort of arrangement have you with your ISP? are you billed as a business? My ISP doesn't allow servers unless it's for business, and they bill as such. If i'm selling trinkets over the net, I'm keeping records as a business anyway.
Now that we are in it, we ought to consider that word, server.
It may refer to the machine used by your ISP to handle traffic, or it may refer to a program running on a machine, or many machines at once, that is part of a server-client format. You can download, and then run an email server from your smartphone, or a server program for any internet protocol, but still that traffic must run through a ISP which is subject to title 18.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Secure

Here in my home town, the Public Utility District stopped building their new viber network because of the COMPLIANCE issues They simply couldn't see spending gobs of money of disk space. They got round that by requiring that any customer hire an ISP, rather than connect directly with their trunk (the original idea). Although it's going over the PUD hardware, some other entity will route traffic through there IP's and collects the bills. They also are the first line of compliance.

Event: Tantra Salon for Progressive Change

Posted by: "Brave New Dawn" bravenewdawn6@gmail.com   bravenewdawn

Thu Aug 11, 2011 5:53 pm (PDT)

In the spectrum of social concerns found relevant, witness the difficulties
in establishing remedies establishing and sustaining such progress in life,
then witness how we wail that doing the just and proper action is far too
difficult because of petty narrow-minded factors.

Tantric practices, used for thousands of years to bring about success in
every realm of life, can be and should be utilized to further a just and
progressively successful society when none are left behind. Such can be
true and Tantra can facilitate such success, both in establishing a healthy
society, maintaining it and reaching toward new thresholds of excellence for
the wellbeing of all.

In the second half of this salon we'll cover an alternative economic, social
and political paradigm that acknowledges subtler realms of being and
integrates such into social values and decentralized/localized economic
prosperity and the elimination of unemployment with basic necessities
provided to all through employment sufficiency and escalating purchasing
capacities.

Hercules the Invincible - The ancient Romans made a sacrifice on this day to Hercules Invictus (the Invincible). Women were excluded from the rituals, and various myths explained this, including the story that the followers of Bona Dea had refused Hercules a drink of water when he was thirsty because the goddess permitted no men in her presence. At any rate, he was a man's god, a manly man, a god who became human and thus understood human appetites. Merchants gave tithes of their profits and generals of their booty to finance a public feast. All animals sacrificed to him were completely consumed during the feast and there were no restrictions on what foods or drink could be offered. Full Sturgeon Moon (August)

Some Native American tribes knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this full Moon. Others called it the Green Corn Moon or the Grain Moon.

The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.

Today's Goddess:. Selu Fiesta de Santa Clara (Southeastern United St

Today's Goddess:. Selu
Fiesta de Santa Clara (Southeastern United States)

Themes:  Harvest; Weather; Growth
Symbol: Corn

About Selu:  This Southeastern Native American Corn Goddess planted her very heart so people wouldn't go hungry.
Corn sprouted from it.  To this very day, her spirit teaches us how to refertilize the earth to bring us the sustenance we need.

To Do Today:  In this primary festival among the Pueblo Indians, Santa Clara replaced Selu, the spirit of the corn, when Christianity took hold.  For the Pueblo, corn is a staple, so as the sun reigns in power they dance for rain and evoke the Corn Spirit for every portion of the crop's growth.  Following this tradition, if it's raining today, go outside and rejoice in Selu's growth-related energy.  Dance with a bit of corn (or eat some beforehand) to invoke her powers for progress in any area of your life.

If your region has needed rain lately, try drumming for it while scattering corn kernels mingled with pine needles on the ground.
The corn and needles act as a gift to the goddess, and the sound they make is a kind of sympathetic magic to draw the rain.
Finally, carry corn in your pocket today.  Beforehand, visualize a specific characteristic you'd like to "harvest" within yourself.  Each time you think of the corn that day, visualize that goal again.  Then, at the end of the day, plant the kernel in the ground so Selu can start it growing!

Abundant Balance Spell

Abundant Balance Spell
Incense of the day: Sandalwood

I used to dislike
the phrase "It takes money to make money." Like many people, I thought
that this phrase spoke to the idea that only the rich get richer. Then
it dawned on me that this phrase mirrors the concept of a balanced
universal flow of abundance. Even the bills that you pay and the
groceries that you buy start a chain of events that ensure money will
flow back to you. With your wallet or your checkbook in front of you,
draw the rune Feoh (f) for prosperity that is earned and shared with the forefinger of your projective hand. Visualize the infinite flow of the
universe that provides for you and guides you. State these or similar
words:

Universal abundance infinitely flows.
I live in your balance, my abundance grows.

Be open to any messages or opportunities that reflect and influence your balance of abundance.
