Thought this was relevant, with Norman Lindsay's pagan preoccupations! Hope the owners can be found.

From the NSW cops' FB page:

by NSW Police Force on Tuesday, 23 August 2011 at 18:08

Police are going public to locate the owners of a number of unique drawings and paintings that were located during a search warrant in Sydney's west yesterday (Tuesday 23 August 2011).

About 10.50am, detectives from Blacktown Local Area Command attended a house in Ellam Drive, Seven Hills, for the purpose of executing a search warrant.

During the search, police located 16 drawings in a folder as well as 2 colour paintings. The drawings are believed to be authentic works by artist Norman Lindsay, and date from the early 20th century. One of the pictures depicts the `Magic Pudding' characters, first published in 1918.

There is also a framed painting believed to be by artist Pro Hart.

Other artwork was also located but their artists are unknown at this stage.

Police believe the works are stolen and are appealing for public assistance to locate the rightful owners.

Also seized in the home were a large volume of jewellery, electrical appliances, and a small amount of substances believed to be heroin and cannabis.

A 51-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested at the address and taken to St Marys Police Station.

The man was subsequently charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug indictable quantity (not cannabis), owner/occupier knowingly expose child to drugs (first offence), two counts of possess prohibited drug and obstruct/hinder person executing warrant.

The woman was charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug indictable quantity (not cannabis), and owner/occupier knowingly expose child to drugs (first offence).

They were refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday 24 August 2011.

Anyone with information that can assist the investigators in locating the rightful owners of the artworks is urged to contact Blacktown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
