How To Live Your Life Without Regrets
By Phylameana lila Desy, About.com Guide
Everyone has made poor choices or done something in their past that could possibly be labeled as "regrettable." But, think about it. The fact that you are now able to look back and realize that a mistake or mis-step occurred means you have learned a valuable lesson. Some of my choices may have landed me in unpleasant circumstances, but experiencing these things certainly built my current character. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for those character-building situations. Mistakes are stepping stones to an evolving life. No need for you to sink into regret or despair -- keep your chin up.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: now and forever
Here's How:
1.. Acknowledge a mistake has been made - It is easy to play the blame game, pointing fingers at someone else or cirmcumstances as to why you have stumbled or why your life is difficult. Taking personal ownership that your past actions resulted in bringing about your current reality is the first step to moving past regrets and moving toward a brighter future.
2.. Make amends - If your past actions or words have harmed another person an apology may be in order. Or not, apologies can be tricky. Judge for yourself if an apology will help matters or only drudge up old wounds better left alone. But, definitely forgive yourself! Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes. Continuely berating yourself for past actions is self-defeating. Would you kick a dog while it was laying down? Of course not. Please don't do this to yourself. Righting a wrong is not always feasible. If you feel badly about a past action you've taken that cannot be righted, forgive yourself, and let it go.
3.. Do-overs - Sometimes feelings of regret arise not from our past actions, but from our non-actions. Have you ever regretted not taking a vacation, staying stuck in a dead-end job, not attending college... or whatever? It may be too late to reverse those decisions, but you still have options. Some colleges offer free classes for seniors. You might not have the time, money, or physical endurance to travel, but you can rent movies or attend travelog showings about the regions you wish to learn more about. New opportunities are available around every corner if you just open your heart and follow your dreams.
4.. Be grateful - The most valuable lessons learned in life often come from the mistakes we make. It may take a walk down a dark alley to see clearly. Embrace your follies, feel gratitude for getting past the worst episodes and eventually finding your way along a less-cluttered path.
5.. Be careful not to repeat the same mistake - A skinned-knee teaches a small child not to run so fast. Slow-down. If you are repeatedly faced with similar difficulties over and over again, this is a sure bet that you have not learned the lessons these situations are trying to teach. Opportunity will surface only after you take responsibility for faulty actions taken and change your current and future behaviors accordingly.
6.. Be watchful of future knee-jerk reactions - This is probably the toughest step, not reacting negatively to situations or the people who tend to push your buttons. We don't always have control over the things life tosses in front of us, but we do control our reactions. Stay calm. Introduce stress-management into your daily life. Meditation helps clear and focus the mind. Therapeutic play will help balance work-related stresses.
7.. Looking deeper inside - Re-evaluate the direction your life is taking. Have you accepted that your past mistakes are just that --- in the past? Focus on today. Become aware of your future goals and desires. Setting clear intentions will help clear the path so that your life progresses with a freer heart and increased happiness. The best is yet to come! Believe it.
Tips:
1.. Remember, nobody is perfect. Including yourself!
2.. Forgiveness is golden.
3.. Live for today. Yesterday was then.

Believe in Your Own Truth

Spirit gives me but a single statement today: Believe in Your own Truth.

So I sit here and I ponder this statement for a moment ..

The world is vast with many different beliefs stretching from shore to
shore… None superior to another. (Tho many will love to disagree)

It's not a matter of who is right and who is wrong .. it's a
personal matter of what the truth is to you.

What feels right to you?
What resonates inside you … ringing out the tones of truth to your
soul?

Whatever that is .. THAT is the truth. The truth for you and you alone.

THAT is your path .. stay true to it and it will stay true to you.

Many Blessings for a beautiful day,

How the USDA is killing you
By wcdouglass
Created 08/20/2011 - 5:00pm
By Dr. William Campbell Douglass [1] on 08/20/2011
USDA Dietary Guidelines raise heart disease risk

Need more proof that the government's dietary guidelines will kill you? Try this one on for size: The USDA says that you can get up to 25 percent of your daily calories from added sugars such as high-fructose corn syrup.

That happens to be the same amount of sugar that has been PROVEN to put you on a collision course with heart disease.

New guidelines proven to boost heart risk

And as a recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism showed, it doesn't take long to experience these devastating effects, either. After just TWO weeks of consuming 25 percent of their daily calories from fructose or high-fructose corn syrup, volunteers who had been put onto these diets were already experiencing heart-damaging effects.

Their triglyceride levels shot through the roof, and there was a dramatic increase in LDL cholesterol.

Now, longtime readers know LDL cholesterol levels don't concern me. As far as biomarkers go, LDL is practically useless.

But there's one subclass of LDL, called apolipoprotein-B, that's more directly linked to heart-wrecking plaque -- and the patients who were given fructose and HCFS were practically swimming in it.

Here's the most stunningly ignorant part of the whole thing: The surest way to slash triglyceride levels and chase ApoB away is to skip all added sugars and stick to a diet rich in healthy animal fats and low in carbohydrates.

But stick to government guidelines, and you could actually eat MORE added sugars than animal fats and still be considered "healthy" -- because the same D.C. bureaucrats who think you can safely get a quarter of all your calories from high fructose corn syrup are also urging you to keep fats to as little as 20 percent of your diet.

Whoever came up with that formula should be taken away in a straightjacket.

Follow their advice, and you'll be taken away too -- on a stretcher or in a body bag.

The Victor

If you think you are beaten, you are.If you think you dare not, you don't If you like to win but think you can't, It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost. For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow's will It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are. You've got to think high to rise. You've got to be sure of yourself beforeYou can ever win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go To the stronger or faster man.But sooner or later, the man who winsIs the man who thinks he can.

Greetings Goddess Scholars, Friends and Family,

This week on Voices of the Sacred Feminine, *Jo Carson* will tell us
more about *Feraferia*, which means the "celebration of wildness" - both
wild nature and our own inner wildness. Although a small group.
Feraferia has been a founding inspiration in the resurgence of Western
paganism since the 1960's. Fred Adams and Svetlana Butryn created
Feraferia to be, in their words, "a Paradisal Fellowship for the loving
celebration of Wilderness Mysteries with Faerie style, courtly elegance,
refinement and grace...The Great Work of Feraferia is the lyrical
unification of Ecology, Artistry, Mythology and Liturgy. Feraferia
offers a Poetic Liturgy and Altruistic Theurgy of Holy Wilderness."
Among other things, we'll discuss how it is the time of the Daughter
Goddess, Kore.

Your Hand

When my world falls down around me,
And the ground is sinking sand;
When peace can't be found on this earth,
I reach out for your hand.

Then when your hand wraps 'round my own,
A strength pours from your soul;
It brings me to a quiet calm,
Till once again I'm whole.

A peace beyond all reason,
A rest there in your touch;
Something in your quiet words,
My heart yearns for so much.

If I but rest my worries,
Upon your shoulder there;
The strength that pours forth from your soul,
Will wash away each care.

Like a cool, sweet taste of water,
For a tired and thirsty man;
My heart finds peace, my soul is calm,
When I reach out for your hand.

Fw: [TheOldWorldWitches] Green Tea Extract

Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract has become very popular in recent years where re-processed foods and fast foods have raised our caloric intake to record heights. Even those who eat healthy have become more stationary with everything at one's fingertips. People move less and less due to modern conveniences such as the remote control, laptops, cell phones, remote garage door openers and even clap on lights. In our society, everything is about fast and efficient but unfortunately this has greatly reduced the amount of exercise a person gets therefore lowering our metabolism. This is where green tea extract comes in.

There is no wonder that billions of dollars are spent every year looking for the newest fad diet or miracle weight loss drug to shed the pounds. Green tea extract have many benefits, but most notable is the ability to assist in weight loss and diet plans. With longer hours at work, and less mobility and exercise, it is becoming very important to condense even our meals, vitamins, nutrients and food into a fast and simple way to consume it. When something is unmasked that has both the health benefits and an uncanny ability to raise one's metabolism, it quickly becomes a fad. Without proper nutrients we do not have the energy to exercise and with the recommended food intake, we gain weight. Where is the happy medium? Green tea extract may hold the key.

Green tea extract has been found in American studies to increase metabolism and also significantly impact the fat oxidation. It would be assumed that some of the results are simply due to the fact that green tea extract contains caffeine, but researchers have found that the properties go beyond just an extra boost in energy. When given the same amount of caffeine as a stand alone supplement, the metabolism and fat oxidation did not compare to the changes that were found in those who consumed green tea extract. While what researchers found green tea extract to be attributed to, it is what it didn't do that is most notable. Unlike diet pills, ephedrine and other weight loss supplements, green tea extract did not raise blood pressure levels or heart rates. This is a significant breakthrough for those who struggle with obesity.

Green tea extract is easily added to your favorite beverage, including tea. Most health conscientious consumers purchase an organic green tea from a reputable supplier and incorporate one cup every day at first. After about a week or so, increase your cups of green tea to accompany every meal. If brewed or steeped green tea is inconvenient for you, green tea extract does come in the form of a pill.

Green tea extract is also beneficial in the prevention of cancers. Additionally, green tea extract also has anti-bacteria properties that can help with oral hygiene and even preserve foods and resist bacterial contamination. Lastly, green tea extract is known for it's anti-inflammatory properties. The only health concern with green tea extract that is known is the high levels of fluoride it contains and the properties within that block some iron absorption.

As with any diet supplement, there has been controversy over green tea extract's effectiveness toward weight loss. If the green tea extract isn't taken daily as part of your diet then the results will not be seen. Additionally, taking a diet supplement such as green tea extract does not give a free pass to eating fast food for every meal or substituting sugary and salty snacks for fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately many people experience a false sense of security or believe that the diet supplement will be their miraculous cure all. Truth is any diet takes work on the part of the dieter and green tea extract is no different. People who are upset with the results or lack thereof, even if it is due to their lack of diligence will begin a controversial conversation that will inevitably weigh on peoples buying decisions. After all, aren't we all skeptical about weight loss supplements anyways?
Green Tea Benefits
For thousands of years people in China, Japan, India, and Thailand have known about how Green tea benefits people's health and have used green tea for its medicinal properties. It is still used today to treat everything from headaches to regulating blood sugar, temperature, healing wounds and green tea benefits even digestion. Green tea is consumed worldwide and has been the subject of many scientific studies to determine the health benefits of Green tea.

Evidence suggests that Green tea benefits people who regularly consume it. They have lower chances of heart disease and lower chances of developing certain types of cancer. It has also been proved that Green tea benefits those persons looking to control weight and is very effective in weight loss programs.

Drinking Green Tea benefits also an increase in bone density (helping Osteoporosis) and decreasing kidney stones. Green tea is a very powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants are nutrients which the body needs to slow and even prevent damage to our bodies. When your body's cells use oxygen, some of the by-products which are formed from this oxygen intake can cause damage such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Those of us who drink Green tea benefit from the high antioxidant levels contained in Green tea.

Antioxidant rich Green tea benefits also the building of a strong immune system. This can lower risks of cancer and infection. In fact the Polyphenols (antioxidants) in Green tea benefits cancer patients by not just lowering the risk but by also inhibiting the growth of Cancer cells. It has been shown that Green tea benefits those people at risk from or suffering with bladder cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.

Green Tea benefits not only cancer patients, but those who suffer from stroke and Alzheimer's disease as well. Green Tea has been proven to protect brain cells from dying thus benefitting patients in this category. And it helps not just in this manner. Of the many Green tea benefits, studies have also found it prevents the formation of blood clots, thus lowering risks of stroke or aneurisms.

Drinking Green tea benefits sufferers of other diseases too. Some of these include Liver disease, diabetes, arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease to name a few. Green Tea is also a good source of vitamin C and other essential minerals.

Green tea is processed differently than other teas and this, some people believe, is the reason why Green tea benefits so many ailments. Te different tea production process helps to retain natural Polyphenols that are present in the tea itself. The recommended dose to maintain good health is that a person drinks 3 cups of green tea per day. It is suggested that Green tea benefits are yielded best around this dosage. You can find Green tea almost anywhere and often Green tea benefits from the inclusion of other beneficial ingredients like ginseng. As you can see there is no reason not to go ahead and include this in your daily routine. So cut out the coffee and start on Green tea instead.

Originally coming to the world from China, Green tea is a popular beverage due to many factors, one of which is said to be the fact that it aids in weight-loss. Yes, weight loss. (The appeal of Green tea to the masses now becomes apparent!)

If you didn't already know, Green tea comes from the same tea plant that gives us Black tea - the Camellia Sinensis plant. The difference in the tea comes then not from the tea plant itself but from the preparation method. To put it shortly, Black tea undergoes a fermenting process while Green tea does not.

Green tea is instead withered (air-dried) and then either steamed or pan-fried to get its unique flavor. The tea is then rolled gently and heated once to lock in its flavors. Of the four different tea varieties available, (Black, Green, White, and Oolong) the Green tea and White tea varieties receive the least amount of processing.

Although not a beverage that appeals to some people due to its slightly green, or "grassy", flavor, it cannot be denied that more and more people are finding that Green tea is an acceptable replacement for their normal cup of Black tea, and in some cases even for their coffee!

If you are not used to taking your tea without additives of any kind, you might find that drinking Green tea is a bit of a hardship, especially to begin with. However, adding a little light flavoring in the form of a slice of lemon, or sugar, or even a dabble of honey, can help you begin to appreciate the unique flavor of Green tea.

It might also be of interest to note that some of the very best Green tea varieties are grown in Japan. In fact you might be surprised to learn that Japanese tea is none other than Green tea itself!

Another interesting thing to note is that Green Tea ice cream is also a highly popular version of this beverage in Japan, although it is only recently finding its way to the Western world.

With enticing names like Jade Dew Green tea from Japan (one of the higher graded Green tea varieties), and Monkey tea and Fire Green tea from China it is no wonder that Green tea quickly gained appeal with the masses over and above the reasons of health and weight loss benefits found in Green tea.

Dearest Mother,

We have done so much destruction to you,
carelessly and time and time again abuse and pollute your very core.
Please forgive us for all we have done to you and help us to see a
better way of life so our children don't have to see such destruction.

Dear
Lord and Lady, Eternal Parents, We ask you to give Protection, Healing
and Strength to all those that need you and especially to all those Men
and Women that put their lives up for us. We are forever in your debt
with all you have done and given us.

We
are so sorry for destroying the planet and all it's resources that
cause such destruction, there are many bad people that don't care what
they do to you but there are still many that still do care. So together
we send Healing to you.

So Mote it Be.

Prayer to you Mama Gaia,

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Tue Aug 30, 2011 7:57 pm (PDT)

Prayer to you Mama Gaia,

You
are Earth and wind, full of precious healing sources, you gave birth to
us all, gave us our souls and the ability to think amongst other
creatures and in return we hold blind eyes and only think of ourselves!

You
are Fire and spirit, full of precious light that runs through our
veins, we root into your soil and share the energy together and in
return we choose to break that bond and ignore that connection and only
think of ourselves.

You are Water, full of precious life that
runs through our very existence, you fuel the entire world with
minerals, plants, animals, fish, all that is important to our very
survival, we can't survive with out you and in return we choose to break
that pipe and pollute you and only think of ourselves.

Oh Mama
Gaia, we are so not worthy of your forgiveness, from time and time again
we continue to do stupid things and sad to say we prob will again but
not all of us are bad Mama, Please Please help us find a way to heal
your wound, help you to stop bleeding, your children of the seas are
dieing, there are children and adults here on land that also love and
need you, Please Mama, find the strength to give it another try, help us
help you, we feel your pain, every waking day we shed tears with you
Mama Gaia, we are your children, we need you!

Please light your candles and Three times say as you focus on your light.

(healing to Mama Gaia and Oceans, to all that weep with her, see the pipe close).

Please
focus on our Mothers wounds and see the pipe closing, focus on the
people that are there working on the pipe to find a way and stop this
leak. Hold all the anger, resentment and hatred aside and focus on these
greedy people to stop this leak. Don't focus on the negative but see
all positive light, see things getting better, focus on everything
getting better.

Take a moment and also focus on the waters
currents and weather to stand still while they work on these holes, see
the animals find another direction till the waters in that area is
clean, see the men and women on the beaches cleaning up and saving
animals full of light and strength to carry them on hours and days at a
time. Think of how much we need our Mother and how much she needs us to
come together.

Focus on your candles absorbing the oil as it
burns lower, visualize all that is dieing around the spill to be saved
and those that died find peace, visualize all that is suffering in the
area, plants, water, businesses, the beaches, everything that is
involved.

Now think of our Mother Gaia again, here I want you to focus on your own prayers!

sit in silence and again feel all the pain she's in and again focus on her healing.

Dearest
Moma Gaia, We love you, we pray and send you healing energy, our hands
press harder onto your wound, holding pressure as you heal, our light is
your light oh Mother Earth, feel our hearts beat as one and our breaths
breath life back into your waters, feel our souls and energy again
connect to your veins as we give you part of our selves, heal great
mother of all, we are here with you!

So Mote it be.

What's Happening Today:

To purify the family spirits, Eyos (masqueraders wearing demon costumes concealed by white robes) walk through the streets of Lagos every year on this date. The Ritual Walk of the Eyos is a religious custom that dates back to ancient times.

On this date in the year 1934, Wiccan author Raymond Buckland was born in London, England. He founded the Seax-Wica tradition of Witchcraft, helped to introduce modern Wicca into the United States, and opened the first American Museum of Witchcraft and Magic.

In India, a women's festival of purification is held each year on this day. It is called the Anant Chaturdasi, and is dedicated to the ancient Serpent-Goddess Ananta, who symbolizes the female life force.
....
Hinduism: Anant Chaturdasi - women's purification festival held to honor the Goddess Ananta.

Greek: Feast of the Goddess Aphrodite and the God Hermes, honoring the harmony of the feminine and masculine in the divine.

Also, the last day of each month is sacred to the Goddess Hekate. In ancient times, worshippers would leave a "Hecate's Supper" with specially prepared foods as offerings to Hecate. The offerings were also gifts to appease the restless ghosts, called apotropaioi by the Greeks. These offerings are best prepared for the goddess on the eve of the new moon, to be left behind at crossroads at night, without looking back.

Today's Goddess:   Baba Yaga Obzinky (Slovak)

Today's Goddess:   Baba Yaga
Obzinky (Slovak)

Themes:  Harvest; Rest; Providence; Thankfulness; Cycles
Symbols:  Corn Sheaf's; Wreaths of Wheat; Corn; Rye; Wildflowers

About Baba Yaga:  The Lithuanian/Russian Goddess of regeneration, Baba Yaga is typically
represented as the last sheaf of corn in today's festivities.  As both
young and old, she re-awakens in us an awareness of time's ever-moving
wheel, the seasons, and the significance of both to our Goddess-centered magic.

To Do Today:  Follow with tradition and make or buy a wreath or bundle of corn shucks or other harvest items.  Keep this in your home to inspire Baba Yaga's
timeliness for coping with your day more effectively and efficiently,
and you'll carry her providence with you no matter the circumstances.

Feast on newly
harvested foods, thanking Baba Yaga as the maker of your meal.  Make
sure to put aside one piece of corn that will not be consumed today,
however.  Dry it and hang it up to ensure a good harvest the next year,
for your garden, pocketbook, or heart.

Finally, decorate your
home or office with a handful of wildflowers (even dandelions qualify).  Baba Yaga's energy will follow them and you to where it's most needed.
