Spirit has been whispering in my ear this morning and leading me to
write a bit about the road we travel…. bare with me, for sometimes
when I get these type messages from Spirit .. I seem to ramble…
Our roads are never perfectly clear from beginning to end and certainly
not smooth …. along the way we are to encounter many obstacles .. it
is not so much the obstacles that are important but how we handle these
obstacles.
Each obstacle is an opportunity to learn and to grow.
At times our road may become dark and it will take a lot of inner
strength to make it through. This is where Spirit screams and shouts
and wants me to make it clear to everyone that the path does not stay
dark for too long, although at the time it may seem unending to the
traveler.
The light will return … when it returns is entirely up to you.
You may not feel that it is in your control but Spirit urges me to say
.. YES.. YES indeed it is.
The decisions you make along this path can keep you in the dark ….
seemingly isolated, burdened and distressed. Spirit again urges me to
make sure this is SEEMINGLY … not REALITY.
The reality is that there are other choices you can make that will take
you out of the darkness much quicker.. though the choices may not be all
that clear to you at the time .. they may "feel" impossible .. or
they may "feel" harder than the choice you have currently made.
Stop! Calm Yourself… Focus.. then step back from your situation and
look at it from other points of view.
Step outside of your own situation and imagine that it is someone else
going through this dark period.. now think of what advice you would give
that other person.
See? Things start becoming more clear to you. You see that there are
other options. They may not be easy but they are there.
The important thing to know is that they are there… Think about this
long dark road you are currently on. Now think of how hard it would be
to continue down this road in the darkness for an undetermined amount of
time… now think of those other options and though they may seem hard
to commit.. once committed to finding another way .. you'll find the
darkness nothing more than a memory.
Whatever you do … do your best … mistakes will be made.. that is a
given .. focus on doing your best and giving your best … mistakes are
merely lessons for growth and knowledge.

I want to ask a favor from my extended family. I need a protection spell/work energies for my daughter Amber. We contacted her in FL. this morning and found out that the person she has been staying with has been cruel to her and was about to put her on the street without a way to get home or contact us. I contacted the place where she is and got management involved and they in turn got the law involved who said they would put her on a bus heading our way tomorrow some time. I need her protected over night from this guy and her trip home. I am not one to spread my troubles in public and find my request sticking in my throat... please help if you can.

The Celtic Cross
The Tarot layout known as the Celtic Cross is one of the most detailed and complex spreads used. It's a good one to use when you have a specific question that needs to be answered, because it takes you, step by step, through all the different aspects of the situation. The Negative Effects of Spoiling Children
When children are spoiled we do them a great disservice because they are not being allowed to earn and learn.
Parents are moved by instinct to love, nurture, and provide for their offspring. Because our children are so much a part of us, we want to see them blissfully happy. Also, our own desire to be liked, materialist pressures, and a fervent wish that our children have everything we lacked as youngsters can prompt us to spoil them. However, while it might seem that buying your child expensive gifts will give them fond memories of childhood or that you can heal your emotional wounds by doting on your sons and daughters, you may be unconsciously interfering with your children's evolutional development. One of the most precious gifts you can grant your children is the true independence they gain when they learn to earn what they covet and become stewards of their own happiness. Try allowing your children to experience life to the fullest. Let them work and earn what they want. When the time comes for them to go to college and enter the workforce, you will have
the confidence that yo!
u have raised a child that can both enter and contribute to society confidently.
When children are not afforded the opportunity to explore self-reliance, to understand that with possession comes price, and to fulfill their own needs, they develop a sense of entitlement that blinds them to the necessity of hard work and the needs of others. We may spoil children because giving them gifts is pleasurable. Or we may want to avoid conflict out of fear that our children won't love us. Yet children who are given acceptance, love, and affection in abundance are often kinder, more charitable, and more responsible than those whose parents accede to their every material demand. They develop a strong sense of self that stretches beyond possessions and the approval of their peers, and as adults they understand that each individual is responsible for building the life they desire. If you find yourself giving in to your child's every whim, ask yourself why. You may discover that you are trying to answer for what you feel is lacking in your own
life.
Rearing your children to respect the value of money and self-sufficiency as they grow from infants to young adults is a challenging but rewarding process. It can be difficult to watch a child struggle to meet a personal goal yet wonderful to be by their side as they achieve it. Your choice not to spoil your children will bless you with more opportunities to show them understanding and compassion and to be fully present with them as they journey toward adulthood.

Heathen: The end of Odin's Ordeal (August 17-25). Odin, the Nordic and Germanic all-father, was one of the three
original Aesir gods who created the world, and most important of all the Norse Gods. In his quest for knowledge,
he hung himself upside down from Yggdrasil, the world tree, for nine days. In commoration of the final day is the
Festival of the Discovery of the Runes, when Odin fell "screaming" from the tree on which he had been bound,
having gained the knowledge he sought.
Uppsala, Sweden, once observed this festival by sacrificing men and animals and hanging them in trees; devotees
were burnt on pyres. Odin's ordeal of hanging on the tree until his enlightenment bears apparent relation to the stories
of both the Buddha and Jesus.

About Ops: This Roman Goddess of fertile earth provides us with numerous
"op-portunities" to make every day more productive. In stories, Ops
motivates fruit bearing, not just in plants but also in spirits. She
also controls the wealth of the gods, making her a goddess of opulence! Works of art depict Ops with a loaf of bread in one hand, and the other outstretched, offering aid.
To Do Today: On this day, Ops was evoked by sitting on the earth itself, where she
lives in body and spirit. So, weather permitting, take yourself on a
picnic lunch today. Sit with Ops and enjoy any sesame or poppy
breadstuff (bagel, roll, etc.)--both types of seeds are magically
aligned with Ops's money-bringing power. If possible, keep a few of the seeds from the bread in your pocket or shoe so that after lunch, Ops's
opportunities for financial improvements or personal growth can be with
you no matter where you go. And don't forget to leave a few crumbs for
the birds so they can take your magical wishes to the four corners of
creation!
If the weather doesn't
cooperate, invoke Ops by getting as close to the earth as you can (sit
on your floor, go into the cellar). Alternatively, eat earthy foods
like potatoes, root crops, or any fruit that comes from Ops's abundant
storehouse.

Connect to Earth and Sky Spell
Incense of the day: Musk
There must be a balance of earth and sky energy in each of us. Both are
essential to our lives. Attuning to earth keeps us grounded and secure.
Connecting to sky reminds us to dream and wish. Go outside on a bright,
sunny day. Choose a firm spot to stand on. Make sure you can see the
sky. Stand with your legs spread apart in a V shape. Make sure your
footing is secure. Raise your arms outstretched in a V toward the sky.
The V shape is symbolic of opening up to receive energy. When ready,
say:
I am balanced between earth and sky. I walk with my feet on the ground. (Look at your feet planted on the earth.)
I walk with my head in the clouds.
(Look above at the joyful clouds.)
I am balanced between earth and sky. So mote it be!
Enjoy this balanced feeling.

Although some of you are participating in the Prosperity and Abundance Event for Abundant Finances that I AM leading in Manhattan at TRS tomorrow, Thursday, August 25, 2011, 7-10PM, or participating in the Prosperity and Abundance Event for Abundant Finances that I AM leading at Seasonal Health in Hoboken on Sunday, August 28, 2011, 1-4PM I AM pleased to announce that I AM leading a wonderful Prosperity Class (also for the first time) in a wonderful Sacred Space.
This Prosperity Class shall take place in less than two weeks, but all the details shall be forthcoming next week.
For now, I say that it shall be the very first Prosperity Class that I shall lead in Bountifully-Blessed Brooklyn, and there is also the possibility that, instead of leading it, I shall co-lead it.
Again, details to follow, but if you want more info, just ask.

Drums Around the World
DRUMMING FOR PEACE, HEALING AND UNITY
NORWALK, CT— On Sunday, August 28, from 2:30-5:00 p.m., the entire planet will vibrate to the sound of simultaneous drumming in an annual call for world peace, global healing and cultural unity. The event is the 18th annual "Drums Around the World" which connects hundreds of community and village drum circles all over the globe.
This year, Norwalk, CT will again play host to Drums Around the World at Taylor Farm Park, in East Norwalk. This unique celebration is open to the public and attracts hundreds of drummers, dancers and onlookers each year, all seeking to build community while making a collective statement for world peace and healing.
"When we play drums together, we start to communicate in a more meaningful way," says organizer Randy Brody of Weston. "Our lives become less stressful and our world is a better place to live."
Special guests this year include Craig Norton, Bob Bloom, Kwame' Henry Jones and Infinite Roots, and others. This year's sponsors include Natural Awakenings Magazine, Norwalk Recreation & Parks, and Sound Directions.
People who plan to attend are invited to bring hand drums and percussion instruments, voices, dancing feet, water, sunscreen and a chair or blanket.
To participate in Drums Around the World, please gather on Sunday, August 28 at 2:30pm at Taylor Farm Park, next to Calf Pasture Beach, Norwalk (exit 16 off I-95, follow signs to Beach Area). Suggested donation: $20 adults/$10 seniors and kids (kids under 5 free). Free parking is available inside the park. Rain location: The Marvin community room, 60 Gregory Blvd., Third Street parking lot entrance.
PLEASE NOTE: Event organizer Randy Brody was in the hospital for over two weeks with a life-threatening disease, which started with a tick bite. He is home and slowly healing and getting his strength back. He plans to be at Drums Around the World and he thanks Craig Norton for helping to make it happen this year.

Wow. Thanks to a legal maneuver known as an Alford plea, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley are being freed after spending half their lives in prison. The three men agreed to something called an Alford guilty plea, which allows them to maintain their innocence while acknowledging prosecutors have enough evidence against them.
