Stone Soup Opening up and Sharing Emotions

Today lets make our Brew together, remember that story of stone soup?

Lets beging with adding things to our pot, this is a sort of meditation and does take imagination and visualization, you have to live and feel the part of our brew as we share together.

What I'm going to suggest is that simply you say one thing that is bothering you or making you feel down about yourself or life, visualize yourself standing in front of the couldron, feel the heat and see the brightness of the fire glow around the pot and against your body, simply then think of something that would help you or make you feel better and can even be something nice towards someone/or memory to make you feel better then we toss that into the pot as an ingredient. After you toss your Positive good thoughts you will then take a large paddle and stir the brew and as you turn it 3 times you will say your new positive intention and then we move on to the next person until all our good intents are then made into this large good soup together where we heal and share our feelings and friendships.

Ok lets begine, I close my eyes and visualize a huge black cauldron over an amazingly large fire, flames appear soft and wrap it's arms around that pot as it begins to bubble and steam rises as if arms and little hands hold that pot tight for us to add all our good intensions and good ol positive energy full of healing, happiness, friendship and love!

So I walk up to this amazing Pot and I'm going to share:

Next Person Please add your intents to the pot

Cher's Ingredients:

Tired of Arguments that make me feel like I'm invisible with my family so for today only, I will not argue and let these things bother me

I surrender myself and will be the better person and do something that makes me happy today....I think of potatoes LOL because they can change into so many different things as you cook them and I am amazing all all those different ways. I toss my thoughts of good will to myself in the pot and stirr the paddle three times...thank you for listening to my problems today ... Read More... Read More

Blessed Be!

this is great! I like that it can be used for any purpose you desire. My question is, how would you manage this if you are in the broom closet or if you don't have a standing altar? I have a very small altar of sorts set up in my room, on top of a shef/cabinet. I have a picture on the wall just above/behind it, with two candles on iether side, and a small marble incense burner in front. I also have a piece of pink quartz, shiny and vaugly heart shaped sitting up there as well. It is there to remind me of love, and how you never know what form it will take. -Deardre

Today's Goddess:.GAMELIA  New Year's Day (Europe/United States)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Jan 1, 2012 2:11 pm (PST)

Today's Goddess:.GAMELIA
New Year's Day (Europe/United States)

Themes: Luck; Health; Prosperity; New Beginnings
Symbols: Two-sided Items, Representing the Old and New (like coins and hourglasses)

About Gamelia: Gamelia is a lucky aspect of the Greek Goddess Hera, who brings good
fortune (especially in love). On this day of new beginnings, Gamelia extends a helping hand
by teaching about the cycles in your life and how to cope with them more effectively, adding
a little luck to make things easier. In ancient times, people would wash Gamelia's statues on
this day, symbolically wiping winter away. They would also hang bay, palm, dates, and figs
around the house to inspire a year filled with Gamelia's blessings.

To Do Today: Remember Gamelia today to manifest her luck and joy in your life. Eat dates or
figs (raisins are handy substitutes), leaving a little outside as offering to her.

To encourage a fresh start, consider turning over an hourglass (or egg timer) as midnight tolls.
As you turn the hourglass, recite this incantation:

The sands of time turn again, with them new life begins.
The old now departs; Gamelia refresh my heart.
For prosperity in the new year, carry any silver-colored coin in your pocket the entire day, then
use it to make a wish at any nearby fountain or water source. To foster Gamelia's help with the
wish, burn a little myrrh incense.

New Year's Ritual

New Year's Ritual

Fresh starts, all possibilities, a shared vision of hope are in order on New Year’s Day. Light candles
of many colors, and place them around a bowl of clear water, saying:

This day is waiting for me to choose, if I will win or if I will lose.
The magic I live in the coming year, flows from the gifts I choose.

The vows I make, the chances I take, the visions that now fill my heart, grow strong with intention that
is honorable and true.

Magic come and magic stay, with me now and everyday.
Creation be alive in me, bring light to all I see.
Fill my heart with peace.

Fill my spirit with the universe’s light, power,
justice, and eternal might. Open my vision of all I see, blessings and benevolence are in me.

My powers grow with each new insight picked from wisdom’s tree.
Magical moments I do see, each day beings me closer to what I will be.

By the light of these candles my illumination grows bright,
By the waters of life bring to Earth peace and new insight.
I welcome the new year and vow to be valiant, kind, and wise.

So mote it be.

Notes:
Holiday lore: New Year’s Day calls for safeguards, augurs, charms, and proclamations.
All over the world on this day, people kiss strangers, shoot guns into the air, toll bells, and
exchange gifts. Preferred gifts are herring, bread, and fuel for the fire.

Goddess Of The Day: BENTEN  Shigato Hajime (Japan)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Jan 1, 2012 8:41 pm (PST)

Goddess Of The Day: BENTEN
Shigato Hajime (Japan)

Themes: Luck; Wealth; Beauty
Symbols: Boats; Dragons; Guitars; Snakes; Saltwater

About Benten: As the Japanese goddess steering the New Year's Treasure Ship,
Benten is a perfect figure to call on for financial improvements this year. She is the only
goddess of luck in Japan and is referred to as queen of the seas and patroness of gamblers.
Japanese women invoke her to bring beauty and fortune into their lives. Benten is depicted as
riding a golden dragon, playing a biwa (guitar), and sending out white snakes with her
missies. Her robe bears a jewel that grants wishes.

To Do Today: To welcome Benten's prosperity into your home, sprinkle a little saltwater on
the threshold today. Or, to generate beauty within and without, soak in a bath of Epsom salts
while listening to guitar music. The Shigato Hajime festival honors the beginning of the work week
in Japan, where it is believed that good omens for work begin today. If you want to get a peek at
how your employment will fare this year, try divination by dice (a traditional gambler's tool).

Hold one die in your hand, ask for Benten to provide a sign, then roll it. The results can be
interpreted as follows:

(1) a negative omen; (2) feeling torn between two good options; (3) a good omen; (4) financial security
(5) not much material change, but improvements in interoffice relationships (6) an excellent omen;
roll again. If you get two more sixes, Benten's treasures will be yours!

Lasting Resolutions Spell

Lasting Resolutions Spell
Incense of the day: Poplar

The new year is associated with resolutions to kick bad habits or to
establish good new ones. But why do so many of our New Year resolutions
last only a few days? Usually, this is because we set our standards too
high. Today, set a realistic goal by making sure it’s achievable. For
example, if you love chocolate, it would be unrealistic to expect
yourself to give it up totally. A more realistic goal is to reduce your
chocolate consumption rather than abstain from your pleasure. Focus on
making improvement rather than extreme change. This way you stand a good chance of achieving your goal with
a sense of accomplishment. Also,
don’t forget to pat yourself on the back when you achieve it. As you
state your goal, light a gold candle to attract success.

New Year's Resolution Spell

New Year's Resolution Spell

For this
spell, choose a few goals that you want to accomplish; these may be
related to work or your personal life. Keep them in your mind; with this spell, you will raise spiritual assistance in accomplishing your
intentions. To start, you will need to gather four rocks that you’ve
collected from a nearby "special place," perhaps a park or your back
yard. You will also need some unrefined salt. After the New Moon has
begun, take the four rocks you have gathered and place them outside near your home in an undisturbed part of your yard. Lay down the rocks in a
cross, one for each direction. Sprinkle the salt lightly over the four
rocks, and toss the rest in the center. Visualize the goals you have set for yourself and say out loud what you hope to accomplish. Leave the
rocks out until you have realized your aims.

Indian Mahabharata

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Jan 1, 2012 8:52 pm (PST)

I bend my head to you, Durga,
I bend my knee. I pray:
Grant me protection!
Your eyes are like leaves on dark water.
Your eyes are like dark leaves of lotus.
Grant me protection!
Your arms are a shelter of truth.
You shelter us with truth itself.
Shelter me in your arms!
~Indian Mahabharata

At
the beginning of time, the fierce Indian goddess Durga went to war
against demons who threatened to destroy the world and all the gods with it. Because of her heroism, she is invoked by those who desire
protection. And the greatest protection she offers is truth: pure,
uncomplicated, direct.

We
protect ourselves most completely when we are most completely true to
ourselves, to our visions, to our inner reality. All around us we hear,
like demons at the dawn of time, voices that contradict our soul's
truth. They tell us that we do not have to be strong, to be passionate,
to be loved, and to be loving. Like Durga, we must take up arms against
these voices. Remaining true to ourselves is not easy. It is a constant
battle. Durga reminds us to armor ourselves against all who would tempt
us to forget our inner truth.

Totem animals What are they and How do you find them?

Totem animals What are they and How do you find them?

I'm wondering how the majority of you all feel about totem
animals/animal spirit guides. Mythological creatures vs. real live
animals.

Do you feel that both are equally powerful?

If so, please explain. If not, do mythological animals fall short of real ones simply
for the fact that real animals are alive and out there, giving more punch to their essence?
