Why is the rest of it trash journalism? All the bits about her past
transgressions are true and a matter of public record. I'm just surprised
it didnt mention she is no longer a registered civil celebrant.

Pretty trashy when they even manage to make heterosexual couples sounds like a strange idea. lol. I assume that's what "opposite gender couples" means.

I've never seen such a negative spin put on handfasting.

Hi Bri

It is trash journalism because Eilish's record is the only thing that gives this story teeth. She isn't the first pagan to conduct a ceremony in a church.

The bit in the HS article about her 'interfering with Catholic liturgy' is completely disingenuous based on the emails I have seen. And the description of handfastings in the article: another poster had it right - the context made 'heterosexual' sound positively louche.

None of which means I am any less angry at her poor judgment - with her notoriety she should have run a mile in the opposite direction at the prospect of coming into contact with a human headline like Fr Bob.

I suppose I am just a stickler for pillorying people for the *right* reasons.

Gavin.

Pretty clearly, it was what the couple wanted. Don't ask me why.

>>Caroline I have just got to thank you for your wonderful posts here..I see
your name I know that I am always in for a very interesting
read..:-)) Again thanks Tish<<

Why thank you Tish. And it is the format of an egroup, like Witches
Workshop, that I think is a good place to post such things - Facebook on the
other hand, in my opinion, involves much quicker, scanning, abrupt
'shout-outs'. Although I often put things there too. But if people on FB
have many friends (hence an active, high-turnover 'Home wall'), then your
post on their wall might not even register, as the subsequent posts of other
people come through they push the previous ones out of the way, so it's a
hit and miss 'shout-out'.
