Hi - I'm new to the group, but this is my thought on the subject. The Church and other Systems still persecute those with different Beliefs. I feel that Wicca is an important part of ones life and should be respected. All Belief Systems are important and viable to an individual and everyone "should" understand the Metaphysical approach to other Systems, "No matter what Path a man may Travel, it is My Path, No matter where he walks, it leads to Me".

National Geographic are looking for a family of witches

National Geographic are looking for a family of witches to film their lifestyle in a new production.

Some of you may have seen this post before, but Sarah from the production team has had little luck in finding her "family of witches". Below is her recent email to me and further down are some facts I point to her about the risks of filming a family and possible reasons why she has had little response!

Nat Geo are currently researching content here at the network. We are
exploring the topic of 'unusual' parenting an are looking for a couple
either heterosexual or same sex that are both practicing witches and are
raising their child within this particular belief system.

Our show, Taboo is the highest rated show at Nat Geo and part of the success
is the observational documentary style of filming.

Do you know any characters that might be interested in being part of the
show?

Here's the reply I sent to Sarah...

Hi Sarah,
I did forward your information on to a variety of people, but I think main issue is a couple of things.

The first is obvious, people must be willing to expose their belief and practices publicly. While other religions may not have a problem with this, Witches are very fearful of retaliation from others who do not share their views. The impact for any children at school is obvious, not to mention the parents concern that such exposure may threaten their employment.

The other issue is the requirement to have both parents as practicing Witches. While it's not uncommon to find couples who practice Witchcraft/Wicca, it is equally not uncommon to find pagan couples who have different traditions. Eg, a witch and a druid, or a witch and an agnostic.

I'll forward the request more widely via our online communities and again ask that people get in touch with you directly.
