Fitting in

I struggled this morning on how to title this blog. My second battle
comes from how to word this blog without coming across on a soap box or
something. Oh well.. here we go… I'm just going to give you my words
and let it be what it is.
As I was getting ready for work this morning, I was thinking about
something my boss asked me on Friday. He had asked me if I was going to
the Thanksgiving dinner with the other ladies in the office. Every year
the corporate staff get together at one of their homes and have a dinner
celebration for Thanksgiving. They also do this for Christmas as well. I
never go. They always invite me, but I never go. So he then asked me why
not. I said, it's just not really my cup of tea. He explained how I
would have fun if I went, but still I said no thanks.
I was thinking about it this morning. There is nothing wrong with the
other ladies and my reasons for not going has nothing at all to do with
them but everything to do with me. First of all my birthday is the very
next day and my hubby and I are going away for the weekend. Sorry
ladies, but I would much rather spend some quality time with my husband
than spend the night chatting about nothing at all with you guys. Other
reasons include: the driving distance from my house to theirs (at the
end of the day I just want to go home) afterall I've already been with
them all day!; these ladies are nice and all, but nothing at all like
me… we have no real connections, they have connections with each other
and so I'd pretty much be there as a witness to their conversations
(not my idea of a great night).
The biggest reason is that I really don't need their acceptance into
their group (which is what it feels like) and this is where I'd like
to explain a bit more.
As a child something my mother instilled in me was that if someone
doesn't accept you as you are, then you don't need them in your
life. Growing up with this in mind, I was always one of those kids with
just a small hand full of really good friends, not one of those who was
always surrounded by loads of "just ok" friends. This was of my
choosing. I never felt the need to do things, wear certain brands of
clothing or anything else to fit in with any group. I did me. I did my
own thing, I was who I was and I am who I am.. no pretenses, just me.
That same thing carries over to today. I am still me… doing me every
single day.
This brings me back to the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with
co-workers. I don't feel I should feel bad about not going to their
dinner and participating in after hours activities with these ladies
because whether I go or not shouldn't change their opinion about me. I
should be allowed a choice without worry about being on the outside of
the group.
My not going doesn't mean I don't like them, it just means I don't
want to go. I'm not being a snob, I don't think I'm better… the
fact is I'm just different than they are and that should be ok. We all
should be allowed to be who we are without the worry of acceptance by
others.

The Story Of Jack
There was once a very old, miserly man named Jack. He was even more miserly and selfish than Scrooge. No one in the town liked him at all, which just made him more bitter and miserly.
Well, one day, Jack took a walk out to a nearby woods and proceeded to take a nap under a tree. Suddenly, Jack awoke to find the devil sitting next to him smiling evilly. The devil had long been following Jack's selfish and greedy ways and wanted to make a bargain for Jack's soul. Well, of course Jack was terrified of this prospect, but you don't get rich by not using your head, so Jack quickly formed a plan.
Jack told the devil that he couldn't make deals on an empty stomach, so would the devil please climb the tree and get him a piece of fruit. The Devil agreed and climbed the tree. Once up in the tree, Jack took out a knife and carved a cross into the bark of a tree. Now as everyone knows, the devil can't pass over the sign of the cross, so the devil was stuck up in the tree indefinitely. The devil was (needless to say) furious with Jack and threatened Jack terribly. Jack said that HE would offer the devil a deal: If the Devil promised never, in anyway to try and take Jack's soul, he would scratch out the cross so the devil could get down. The Devil didn't like this at all, but neither did he like the prospect of being up a tree indefinitely, so the devil grudgingly agreed to Jack's terms. So saying, Jack scratched away the cross and let the devil down. The devil then vanished.
Well, Jack died eventually, and his spirit went to heaven, but upon reaching the Gates to Heaven, his way was barred by Saint Peter. Saint Peter said that a man who had led such a narrow and uncharitable life could not be permitted entrance to Heaven. Jack was shocked, and he begged and pleaded with Saint Peter to let him in, but still he was denied.
Accepting his fate, Jack turned and proceeded to the only other place that his soul could go, so he proceeded to Hell. Well, when he got to the Gates of Hell, the devil was there. When Jack asked admittance, the Devil mockingly told him that under different circumstances Jack could have entered, but he reminded Jack of the deal they had made. So sayingly, Jack could not stay in Hell, either. Jack was had no place to go, and realized with horror that he must walk the Earth (in purgatory) forever!
Well, since damned souls cannot be abroad during the light of day, they must walk the Earth at night. So Jack's soul wandered the Earth looking for a place to rest. Especially on Halloween, which you know is slang for "All Hallow's Eve", the night all souls of the dead roam the earth.
Well, Jack wanted to light his way on his endless search, so he dug up a large turnip, cut out holes in it, and he placed a lighted candle inside of it, making it into a lantern. He then went forth, into the night mists searching for a place that his soul may rest.
And that is why we call it to this day, a Jack O' Lantern (meaning: the Lantern of Jack), and why we see it every Halloween.
It is also said that lighting the Jack O' Lantern, and placing it in your window, helps light the way for all the lost and wandering souls on this particular night

Sam Hain
Who is this guy they call Sam Hain?
I see his name in witchy books.
But when I ask my witchy friends
They just give me the strangest looks.
He seems so important
And everyone knows him except me.
Each year they throw him a party
It sounds like the COOL place to be!
When I ask my friends what's he like
They all practically turn and run.
I need to get to know San Hain
So I can join in all the fun.
I asked my friends to introduce me,
But, I'll have to introduce myself.
'Cuz when I asked they looked at me
Like I was a demented elf!
So I searched the yellow pages
I called up information, too.
I just can't find this guy, Sam Hain;
I surfed the web 'til I turned blue.
I've heard my witchy friends planning
And although they think that I'm a pain
I'm going to crash his party
And then I'll finally meet Sam Hain.

LOL this is a cute question, ready LOL Do you have a secret wish to be someone/something or admire someone and
would love to wear a costume of this person but too shy to do it, worrying
about what others might think, if you can't wear your costume you always
dreamed of, how about telling us your secret costume. Who knows, maybe
it will make you brave enough to actually get your wish and wear that
costume you always wanted and if not, at least have fun talking about it!

Incense of the day: Myrrh
This spell draws upon
the primordial womb of the ocean to increase your fertility and to
dispel some of the hindrances standing in your way. Place an iron nail
in a bottle of ocean water while saying: "As this iron decreases, so do
the obstacles in my path." Place the bottle somewhere out of the way and forget about it. To make a substitute if there is no ocean water
available, take some spring water and add a good amount of sea salt and
some sand to it.

When Witches Gather Rain

Witches have always known the special meaning of nature's acts. They are warnings, blessings and magic guides to our
living in the world around us. Rain is a special gift from the sky and its power should be used wisely. Try never to shelter
yourself from its fall, but rather accept the rain as we should accept live with all of its trials and blessings.
* Rain while the sun shines is a healing rain. Catch and store it in blue glass. Use the water for all manner of healing magic.
Place in the bath for an overall body cleaning.
* The blessing of fairies is upon anyone who catches rain in a silver spoon after the rain has bounced off a flat stone. Place
some of this water on any object that is frequently misplaced. Keys are always a good choice.
* Place midnight rain of a New Moon on the third eye to bring visions and see future events.
* The first rain
gathered in May is symbolic of May Day dew and holds much power. It is
used when very special favors are needed. Do not gather this rain in a
metal container or its power will be lost. A glass or wood container
would do much better.
*When rain runs off a gravestone, gather carefully and use with caution.
*Rain gathered during a thunderstorm holds much energy and can be used to enhance spells and potions. But be aware
that the energy does not last long and the spell should be completed before three days and three nights have passed or the
rain water will be of little use.
* House plants enjoy the outdoor rain - this cleanses their leaves and helps to purify the indoor air when they are brought
back in the home. This is especially good to do when you are in need of a clear mind and strong thought.
* Jewelry, charms and other objects can be purified by standing in the rain, facing west and tossing the object into the air,
three times, catching it in your hands each time,
* The sound of the rain carries the voices of the water spirits. Listen to the sound of the
rain and enjoy the gifts of the undines.
They will speak to you of love and friends.
The wise also realize
that rain is just one aspect of nature. We should look to the wind,
trees, lightning, fire, stones, and other
forms of nature's expression for clues to the magic of the world.

We remain in the period of the year symbolized by the decent of the Goddess into the underworld. The light continues to
decline, made especially
noticeable when daylight-saving time is reversed and darkness seems to
come all too quickly each evening. Our foremothers would have completed
most of the year's outdoor tasks by this time. Crops would be harvested,
cattle butchered, wild foods gathered. With the time of production behind, it was now time to spin and weave, to mend the
garments worn thin during the busy summer, to teach children the cautionary tales of older times.
Today our tasks are rarely determined by the seasons and the weather. Rain or snow, winter or summer, we report to work,
move papers, have meetings, sell products. We live differently than people did for most of human history. But our bodies
have not altered. We still respond to the dimming daylight by drawing inward, by changing our sleep patterns, by finding
different tings taking priority
in our lives. It's futile to fight against this annual cycle. Embracing
it, living our lives by it, will
ultimately make us happier.

A Prosperity Message from Robert Alvarez, the Psychic Witch: Thursda

On Saturday, November 3, 2001, I led my very first Prosperity and Abundance Event for Abundant Finances. It took place in a Metaphysical store in the Borough of Queens, New York City. And since earlier this week I had planned to use today to give all of you the details regarding the two Prosperity Events I AM leading next month.
However, shortly after I woke up this morning Spirit began Divinely Dictating what I would write instead.
First, please know that it is your Divine Birthright and Spiritual Heritage to have a Divine Abundance of Peace, Health and Plenty in your life and in your world. If you can for only a moment, forget about the past. Forget about the great job you no longer have, forget about the very Prosperous relationship you no longer have. For once, and if only once today, focus on the Here and Now. Take this moment, right now, to be thankful for what you have right now. For the people in your life, right now. For the resources, financial and otherwise, in your life, right now. Being thankful is a simple and sublime way of not only increasing your Life Force Energy (as well as your Inner Peace and Happiness) but it also conveys to the Universe (or Goddess, or Higher Power,or Spirit, or whatever term you prefer) that you are open and receptive to receiving more of it.
Whether you have $5 or $500 in your wallet right now, be thankful for ALL OF IT! Be thankful that you have it, right now. Please refrain from focusing on what you did have in your wallet, and certainly refrain from focusing on what you are going to spend (that is definitely a great way to cause your monies to decrease faster); simply focus on the Prosperity that you have, right now.
Second, begin to create balance and harmony with all the areas of Prosperity that are most important to you. In other words, if you become fixated and obsessed with manifesting one form of Prosperity (be it romantic love, professional success, Inner Peace, etc.) then you push away ALL forms of Prosperity. Three is such a beautiful, perfect and Magickal number. What are the three forms of Prosperity that are most important to you, right now? Peace, Health and Plenty? Love, Fulfillment and Joy? Time, Beauty and Wisdom? Whatever those three forms of Prosperity are, take a few moments to think about how you can begin to create them or increase them in your life. And remember: "There is a Spiritual solution to every problem." Be open and receptive to using both practical/Physical Realm and Spiritual/Astral Realm methods and tools.
Finally, the more you focus on lack, limitation, hard times, and the more you spend time with people that focus on lack, limitation, hard times, the more lack, limitation and hard times you shall create, manifest and maintain in your life. If you continue to read about economic hardships and listen to people talking about economic hardships, then the more you shall focus on economic hardships and easily manifest them in your life. Many of you may feel that you must read newspapers and watch news broadcasts to be informed, but do these newspapers and news broadcasts empower you? Do they liberate you? Do they Prosper you? Personally, I have yet to meet anyone who consistentlyProspers, especially financially, from reading about and listening to people talk about economic hardships (and they certainly do not participate in my Prosperity Events!).
The Mind is infinitely powerful. If you are going to use your Mind to focus on thoughts and mental images that cause you pain--physical, emotional or Spiritual--then you guarantee that pain shall be your constant companion. However, if you begin to use your Mind to focus on thoughts and mental images of Love, Peace, Prosperity, Healing, Joy and Fulfillment, then you shall begin to turn the tide in your favor. My Reiki Master Teacher is a recovering alcoholic and recovering drug addict. He once told me that, for every day that one was living one's addiction, that is the same number of days that he or she needs to be completely clean and sober.
If, every day, from now into Infinity, every single time you were to have a negative, disempowering, painful thought, you were to immediately surrender and release it to Spirit, then it would only be a matter of time before all the negative, disempowering and painful thoughts would finally get the message and leave you the fuck alone. However, any time you nurse a negative thought or mental image, that negativity and that pain shall take that as an invitation. Essentially, it shall say, "Oh, this bitch just loves me! Let me stay a while longer." No, please, no more invitations to pain and suffering. There is a big difference between watching a soap opera and being one.
Tomorrow, Friday, October 21, 2011, I shall send the broadcast Emails for the two Prosperity Events that I AM leading in November, 2011. In addition, there may be a third, but I shall know for certain before the end of this month.
And in case you are wondering what I AM doing on Thursday, November 3, 2011, I AM going to go back to the beginning. I shall spend the entire day doing what I once did, before I ever considered the possibility of leading Prosperity Events. I shall read Prosperity books, spend time writing down Prosperity Affirmations, Decrees and Treatments in my journals, surrender and release anything or anyone that no longer serves my needs, focus on thoughts and mental images that are Divinely Abundant with Peace, Health and Plenty and simply have a day filled with Divine Prosperity.
