I have studied that off and on for at least the past 5 to 6 years and there is a lot more out there on the subject, as well as those who can offer insight from personal experiences as well as it being their "Path", then one might imagine.
It goes without saying but the act in and of itself does generate a tremendous amount of energy that can be harnessed in a number of ways. I am quite interested to hear opinions, insights, etc from others on the subject.
Couple of little comments within this to stimulate more conversation is the use of kundalini, which is often associated or can be with sex magic, and tantra in these workings. One little point with tantra to bear in mind the distinction between the western and eastern variations. By and large, to speak generally, western versions of tantra focus much more primarily on the physical aspect with more of a "passing" interest in the spiritual aspects. Quite often I found that a good many who were interested in tantra were using that as an excuse to have sex with as many partners as possible. The eastern form while the physical act is obviously apart of it is more geared best, in my opinion, with partners who are working on the physical and spiritual aspects together.
Ancient Egypt is one culture that definitely went into deep and high sex magic. Not the only one but one of those that stand out more than others. It is not difficult to find material there. I welcome an open discussion on this and always respecting everyone's opinions and insights. love, Shay

When I said "no" to a Baptist minister that thought
he could order me around..I was a witch. When I said no to the perverted
theology that had been shoved down my throat, not because they wanted me in
"heaven", but so they could control me, I was a witch. When I finally realized
that there was a deeper spirituality than what was being taught, and that only I
could find that, ON MY OWN, I was, I AM, a witch. But, groups, teachers, books,
whatever cannot make you a witch. Loving yourself makes you the most powerful
witch in the world.
Damn right so mote it be, people.....

GrannyMoon's Goddess Of The Day : HESTIA
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

GrannyMoon's Goddess Of The Day : HESTIA
(England)(Greek) (Roman)
Themes: Religious Devotion; Home: Wishes; Manifestation; Kinship; Unity; Beginnings
Symbols: Fire (ovens); Sparks
About Hestia: The Greek Goddess of Household Affairs, Hestia watches over our cookery today to help manifest family unity and ensure tasty outcomes. As a hearth goddess, she provides the spiritual energy necessary to keep our faith sure and the inner fires burning bright. Greek art did not try to portray this goddess, because she was considered the beginning - the source from which all else was ignited and set in motion.
To Do Today: Getting its name from the annual Yule-pudding making that takes place in many homes around this time of year, Stir-Up Sunday is also a time in the Christian Church to motivate determined faith. So why not blend the best of both worlds? Invoke Hestia's blessing in your kitchen and make some pudding for the whole family (or a gathering of friends). Have each person present stir the pudding clockwise for a few minutes as they focus on a wish. By next year at this time, the wish should manifest.
Light a candle this morning to welcome Hestia's unity and energy into your home. Or, carry matches in your pocket so the spark of this Goddess can ignite in any situation where it's needed. Throughout the day, when you need more commitment to your beliefs, just light one match to invoke Hestia's aid.

Home Protection Spells

Home Protection Spells
Black is the color most commonly associated with protection. The use of black stones, black candles, and black clothes are associated with protection spells. I like keeping a piece of irradiated smoky quartz near my front door to keep out any unwelcome intruders. Plant holy thistle (Silybum
marinanum L.) around the house to turn away thieves. This herb is most
commonly found in California, but in cooler climates, plant it in a
large container out in front of your house. This will also prevent it
from going wild all over your property. Sprinkle betony at doors and
windows for some extra protection. Burn fiddleheads, or uncurled fern
fronds, indoors as a smudge for a strong wall of protection. ~ Boudica

Australian Song

I, Djanggawul, look behind myself to see the path of light
that leads back to the island of Bralgu.
The light shines on our paddle dipping up and down inthe sea.
The light shines from the island of Bralgu.
I, Djanggawul, see the morning star dancing onthe water's surface,
and Bralgu's light shines like a feathered ball.
The sea's roar, the salt smell, the sound of our paddles, the taste of salt!
Within this boat we carry the sacred women's objects.
~Australian Song
There are many myths that tell the story of the arrival on earth of power objects from beyond this earth.
These are not usually valuable in themselves; they are not gold coins or wrought silver or magnificent statuary.
Instead, sacred objects usually look like a rough collection of stones, or some feathers, or an old worn-out human
artifact.
Why did our forebears claim such insignificant objects as sacred? Because they were. Sacredness is not related
to wealth or power; it is a quality that can be perceived by sensitive observers but that has no value in the marketplace.
Think of how a child selects a stone - one single stone - from an ocean beach full of stones. Why that one? Why right now?
But the instinctual child knows. She recognizes some power that rests, perhaps only briefly, in that stone. When it is gone,
she throws the stone away. It is just as simple, sacred objects that were
considered the most valuable possessions of the goddesses and their
followers.
