*dies laughing* Of course, I like Dee's solution equally well, which is to
insist everyone fly naked with only their ID tags around their necks on a
plastic cord....

I used to keep files of quotes I found interesting, whether they
appeared in others' signatures, were pieces of advice, or simply
something I liked in a book. Later, when Dorie came to live with me,
she showed me her handwritten quotes journal and I started keeping
one. It has a deep red cover in Celtic knotwork with a famous Celtic
saying on it and a picture of an autumn path through the woods on the
front cover. I bought a set of rainbow gel pens and wrote each quote
in a different color, rotating them out through the colors in the
rainbow. Sometimes I print out quotes from SparkPeople and glue those
in there too. It's become quite a spiritual work and I'm amazed at
all the places from which I take inspiration, everything from Rumi to
the Bible to Erma Bombeck!

An Update on Dee

Just keeping the list updated...

He had about a week of fairly good days when he felt well enough to be
up and about and to do things with us. We took him to St. Augustine
for a picnic lunch on the sea wall so he could get some of that good
sea air and spent most of the day in the shrine watching wildlife.
The gift shop people there are marvelous and offered to move things
around so that I could navigate the store. I found a few shrine
pieces (I make pocket shrines of all sorts and so does Dorie, she's
better at it than me) and a lovely Nativity which I intend to buy for
our home this year. Some of them offered prayers for him; they could
see he was sick and struggling. I saw no reason not to accept honestly
offered help, no matter where it comes from. They also has some
marvelous, beautifully crafted ornaments. Wandered around downtown a
bit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The last week --- not so good. They upped the dosage on his treatment
and it's making him utterly miserable; he either curls up on the couch
and sleeps in order to avoid the pain and nausea or he's so sick he
can't really get up and do anything. He did surprise me the day
before yesterday by going out into the kitchen and cooking an egg
sandwich, said he was hungry. He's looking forward to the holidays,
he says, when he once said he didn't like them and would just as soon
avoid them. We're still looking for just the right stocking for the
mantel and my tree skirt needs replaced but we'll get there. He's
even asked for just a bit of the Thanksgiving dinner, though he can't
eat much, and the doc said he could have some coffee with a bit of
brandy in it.

We're still hopeful; he's fragile but still has a lot of fight in him.
His main physician gave up on him, but the specialist has not. He's a
good guy, employs holistic methods. In January, they'll run another
set of tests to see if the heavy metals have left his system and to
find out what kind of damage was done. Further treatment will depend
on those findings, but the new specialist is prepared to recommend
surgery to remove the scarred up intestinal loops and to put in either
a J-tube or a G-tube depending upon the extent of the damage. Dee
won't need a colostomy or an ileostomy; this will simply allow us to
feed him better as it's not likely he'll ever eat properly again.

Thanks for keeping me and mine in mind!

Nice to have you back Lady Nightshayde!

Good quote, I hope you daughter finds a solution soon. Have you looked at Louise Hay's book, You Can Heal Your Life? It looks at energetic causes. If you don't have the book, I will send you the causes and affirmation.

Blessed be,
Lady Diamond Light
