Hi Everyone -- Sorry i've been unable to post much lately, I am having a
lot of trouble with my laptop which seems to have "caught" a Virus, and
trying to repair it has taken a LOT of time/ attention; all my newer,
important files are on the laptop rather than this (desktop) 'puter
which i'm having to use temporarily.

I think this may be another area where BlackBird and i somewhat disagree
-- most Wiccan High Priests and Priestesses (including myself)
generally *discourage* the practice of magick until the person/ student
has pretty well mastered the Basics -- like Centering, Grounding,
Cleansing, Shielding, Visualizations, and then Casting Circle (after the
preceeding skills), for a number of good reasons -- Including the fact
that these BASICS are virtually required for all spiritual, metaphysical
and magickal work. Also, i've seen a number of "Seekers" get into
various kinds of trouble when trying to rush into more advanced work,
without having a really good foundational grounding in these Basics.

I'll try to upload some good resources and information tomorrow (if my
plans carry through and i've been able to fix the laptop) --

BB re: I think you will find, we disagree less than you think here ...
my intention in this first series of Exercies is a simple introduction
to the elements. Which I think of as very basic work, and while I have
not yet put it down an outline of full series of exerices, I intend to
post, I will soon, and IMHO all are basic, and some will touch exactly
on the subjects you mentioned above.

Right now I'm intending 1.1 to 1.4 Introduction to the Elements.
Here I'm not even looking at visualization, but simple Mindfulness,
taking a few minutes to be mindful of, the Air, a Candles Flame, the
Rain, or a Shower, The Earth. There are some lovely Visualizations of
these things, but right now I want to focus on Mindfulness of these
things as they manifest in the world.

2.1 to 2.4 Very simple visualizations.

after that we will see, but Im not looking at anything advance here,
IMHO whats why the Baby Witches Tag, but I think encouraging a group
participation in a given aspect of these basics will be benificial to
all; I spent a good part of the day with the Spiral Dance today,
reviewing and refreshing my own basices.

As you so rightly point out its not about reading its about doing, so
encouraging a little organized shared doing IMHO is a good idea for our
group.
