I feel the same way! Here in Louisiana we have two seasons, Summer and Not Summer! Today is not summer day and it is wonderful. We also don't have beautiful colors like other areas of the US. The pics you sent earlier were awesome.

I am sitting here in my chair with the window beside me open.  I am sooo happy that on the first day of October, the temperature is wonderful--mid 70s-- and the breezes are blowing.  Here where I live (Jacksonville, FL), sometimes the temperatures stay in the 90s throughout October.  It is such a delight to actually feel like the season has changed to Fall!

Often when casing a circle for ritual work (such as casting a spell), it's traditional to have things that represent the four elements in the corresponding directions. It looks to me like Gae is offering inexpensive suggestions for representations of aire, fire, water, and earth.

I always use elemental representations, too. It gives notice that "magick is happening here."

thank you for your feedback, i'm almost sorry I asked this question, I was just saying what i said in a jokin manner. That is just how I communicate. I can understand the inexpensive suggestions, and appreciate them. thankfully the person I wanted protection from is leaving me alone anyways. I did not intend any disrespect.

No need to apologize. On this group, you will get different answers to questions. That is the great thing about diversity.

True magic is neither black nor white-- it's both because Nature is both.
Loving and cruel, all at the same time. The only good or bad is in the heart
of the Witch. Life keeps a balance on it's own.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Sunday, October 2

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 2, 2011 12:11 pm (PDT)

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Sunday, October 2

I thought I might merge two energies into one tip as today embraces both 'World Communion Day' and 'Guardian Angel Day.' This is a good day to thank the guardian angels who have kept light and guard around you while guiding your invisible energies since birth. This might also be the best day to invoke and then commune with a new one. For this reason I chose an angel that author JoAnn Cornug chronicles in her book 'Original Tribe Handbook of Angels.' Cornug shares that the Angel Xexor is a wish-granting angel who is forever your ally in whatever your cause. If Xexor is invoked in intentional prayer, then he will bring magic and manifestation to your wish as long as you are certain in your faith and feelings. Invoke Xexor's intercession today by saying those exact words three times. Then follow that invocation up with Cornug's exact prayer: 'I am a witness to God's miracle every instant of every day.' Only one word can sum up today's tip, and that's Amen!

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the Moon.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde

Sleep Boxes

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 2, 2011 12:26 pm (PDT)

The Sleep Box...

Just landed at Terminal One, the perfect cure for stranded air travellers... the Sleepbox

* First temporary bedrooms which can be rented out for half-hour periods
* They stand 3m high and come with two beds each and phone chargers

By MAIL FOREIGN SERVICE
Behold the future of airport delays.
All that slithering around on a seat being uncomfortable while waiting for your late-running flight could be about to end.

Because Sleepbox has landed - bringing with it the prospect of a decent 40 winks while you wait for take-off.

The specially equipped boxes may take a bit of getting used to, but the weary traveller cannot fail to be impressed.

Neat and tidy: The Sleepboxes stand 2.5m high and fit neatly into the design of Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow

Boxing clever: The Sleepboxes - just introduced into Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow - will allow travellers to get a light kip if their planes are delayed

The self-contained mobile bedrooms have been created by Russian architecture company the Arch Group.
The first, which can be rented out for half-hour periods, have been installed at the Aeroexpress terminal of Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow.
They represents the basic version made of MDF with a natural ash-wood veneer.
The basic box measures 2.5m by 1.6m with a height of between 2.5m and 3m.
Standard features include ventilation and sockets for notebook and mobile phone chargers.

Rest easy: This artist's impression of the boxes show how they will sit in airport lounges, offering an alternative to the perenially uncomfortable seats on offer

There is also space for luggage under the beds which each come with a nightstand.
In addition to general lighting, the box has built-in LED reading lamps while windows are equipped with electric-drive blinds for privacy.
Options include matted film on windows; mood lighting LED lamps with changing light colours; built-in TV and touch-screen monitor; wi-fi router; alarm; intercom and safe deposit box.
One of its main advantages is its ability to be installed in the airport passenger areas where travellers have to spend hours waiting for their delayed flights or a transfer.
An Arch Group spokesman said: 'Imagine the situation where you are in a modern city, you are not a local resident, and you have not booked a hotel.

Minimalist: The designs offer only basic comfort but can accommodate two people in a bunk arrangement - and can be rented for half an hour at a time

'It is not a comfortable situation because modern aggressive cities give you no opportunity to rest and relax. If you want to sleep while waiting for your plane or train, you face many security and hygiene problems.
'We believe that urban infrastructure should be more comfortable. For this purpose we have developed Sleepbox.
'It provides moments of quiet sleep and rest without wasting time in search for a hotel.'
Referring to the first box installed in Moscow, he added: 'This Sleepbox has attracted such a great deal of interest from passengers and big companies that the chances are first commercially-operated boxes will be installed at airports and in the city by the end of this year.'
Other possible locations would include railway stations, exhibition centres and shopping centres.

In countries with a warm climate, Sleepbox can be used outdoors.
The spokesman continued: 'It allows everybody in unforeseen circumstances to spend a night safely and inexpensively or simply to kill a few hours without leaving the luggage.
'Currently we offer one, two, or three-bed Sleepboxes, which can be made of MDF, metal, and glass-reinforced plastic.
'The price varies depending on the number of hours in use: the more the user pays for, the less it costs per hour.'

As always, perfect timing. Although I don't really think it is a complete loss of faith, perhaps more a lack of trust in myself. Also, pure exhaustion from working two jobs and unanswered questions regarding love interest(s). I have been wavering and depressed, but always when I listen to pagan/Goddess/Witch music, I feel joy. Whenever I make the effort to be outside (at night particularly), walking barefoot on the grass, looking at the moon, I feel happy and fulfilled. So...I persist in my non-traditional spiritual beliefs, despite being surrounded by very hard-core Christians. Thank you for the reminder that we all are human, with human failings.

I love his writing! And have nearly every book he wrote. His way with words and his insight into taken-for-granted phrases or concepts is both amazing and hilarious. It's tragic that he's afflicted by that horrible condition that will probably bring his writing to a halt, or at least deterioration, in the foreseeable future... Why do the best and brightest have to end up with horrid diseases, accidents, etc. while others who give nothing to society live long healthy lives?!

Miki, I agree. I know many fans are greatly saddened by the thought of the loss of such a brilliant mind to such a horrible disease as Alzheimer's. Here is something else about him, and a couple of websites.

Pratchett had an experience, which he described as: "It is just possible that once you have got past all the gods that we have created with big beards and many human traits, just beyond all that, on the other side of physics, there just may be the ordered structure from which everything flows" and "I don't actually believe in anyone who could have put that in my head".

Fire Scrying

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 2, 2011 4:48 pm (PDT)

Fire Scrying

As the power of the Sun fades, we embrace the harvest season and the decline of the fire element. This is a perfect time, as we approach the introspective tide of winter, to scry with flame. On a night close to the New Moon, cast a circle of protection, and light a purple candle. Sit silently and breathe deeply, allowing your conscious mind to grow quiet. Gaze at the candle flame and permit your thoughts to drift by without judgment. Soften your focus and relax your vision. Concentrate only on the flame. Ask a question. Observe the flame expectantly, and open your observations to your intuition. Invite the flame to impart images. Write down your insights, and carefully date your interpretation for future reference.

Before the Sun Goes Down

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Oct 2, 2011 4:50 pm (PDT)

Before the Sun Goes Down

Before the sun goes down tonight,
Before this day is through,
There are some tugs within my heart,
That I want to share with you.

First, I want to say I love you,
I don't say that near enough,
I mean to say it every day,
But I forget it, as I rush.

Then I want to say forgive me
For not supporting as I should,
I listened, but I didn't hear,
I could have better understood.

What would I do without you?
I need to tell you that,
How I appreciate you,
How you've kept my life intact.

To say a simple thank you,
Seems commonplace and trite,
But, oh, I am so grateful,
You have been inside my life.

I dare not let the sun go down,
Without saying all these things,
There is no way of knowing
What the night or morrow brings.

If either of us chance to leave,
Then I am glad I did express,
These thoughts that "lie too deep for words,"
May Divine gently bless the one that's left.

You never know what tomorrow will bring.................

A Past Life Dream Spell

A Past Life Dream Spell

In October, the door to the other-world opens. Our dreams serve now as doors to other realms. You can use your dreams to recall former lives, and then use this information to help you deal with problems in your current life. Perform this spell at bedtime when you aren't overly tired. To start, you'll need a smooth and polished amethyst stone. Sitting on a bed, hold the amethyst and say:

I call on the power of perfect memory to enable me to see a past life I've lived; it shall be revealed in my dreams. I'll see only what I should see.
So mote it be.

Place the amethyst beneath your pillow and go to sleep. When you awake, record any images you recall. Repeat this spell over many nights.
