A Child's Blessing

Incense of the day: Basil
While not all of us are parents, grandparents, or guardians, children are part
of our lives and our communities. Children are the manifestation of our love
and our future. Children are precious. Too often, children are the victims of
violence, abuse, and bullying. While we cannot be with them always, nor fight
all their battles for them, we can bless the children and invoke a spell of
protection over them. Let us all bless the children:
Sweet babe asleep in mother's arms,
Goddess keep you safe and warm,
Toddler bounding on eager feet,
Goddess bless you and keep you sweet,
Child at play running long,
Goddess make you healthy and strong,
Teenager creating a separate identity,
May the Grace of the Goddess be with thee,
In her embrace you children are safe,
Goddess be with you throughout your days.

St Martin de Porres Day -This Catholic saint was the son of a Spanish knight
and a Panamanian woman of Indian or Negro descent. He was trained as a barber
but became a Dominican monk at the age of 15. He was known for his tending of
the poor and sick, especially slaves, and abandoned dogs and cats. He is the
patron saint of racial harmony, as well as the patron saint of Italian
hairdressers and barbers.

St Hubert's Day - Patron of dogs and the chase. He is also invoked against
rabies. Hunting season opens on his day. Belgians bring specially prepared
breads to a special Mass held in his honor. The blessed bread is taken home,
where a sacred sign is made over it, and it is then eaten. Pieces are fed to
dogs, horses and other animals to protect them from rabies. St. Hubert seems to
have inherited some customs and qualities associated with Odin and other male
divinities who led the hunt and oversaw the activities of the dead.

Scream Therapy
I would scream if it would help.
But right now, I don't even know
If it would.
A timid scream might ease
The pressure, without my having
To come out of my shell.
A medium scream would help
Even more, but no one would call
The cops.
A loud scream would scare my pets,
But the neighbors wouldn't hear it
Through closed doors.
Hmmm.
To maximize Scream Therapy,
I think first I will write down all the
Things, people, situations that I want
To scream about.
Then, I will go over the list until
I am so into the emotion and upset
That I scream loud enough to
Wake The Dead!
Then, I will spend all night
Trying to get them to go back to
Their graves.
Mission accomplished!

Erik Matthew DeStito July 6, 1995 - October 31 2010.
We've lost one of "our" kids. Reading Pagans & Witches Members, Matt DeStito
and Susan Wetherill, have lost their son and step-son, Erik, 15.
Like so many of us, Erik's family has been hit hard by the economy. To help

From the ever-expanding WTF files, Republican congressional candidate Missy
Reilly Smith says that Planned Parenthood is chock full of baby-killing Wiccans.
Smith, whose ads feature images of aborted fetuses, says, "The more that you're
involved in this organization [Planned Parenthood] the more demonic you realize
it is... Many of the employees of Planned Parenthood and abortion mills, the
actual killing centers, the employees are actual witches. They belong to Wiccan

Because of where I live, a significant part of my year is spent watching my
neighbors eat, sleep and breathe sports. If it isn't college football, it's pro

About theThree Kadlu Sisters: Among the Inuit and several other northern tribes,
these divine sisters rule the weather,
so watch today's ritual closely to see what winter will be like! Children's
stories claim that when theGgoddesses play
together they make thunder and lightning.
To Do Today: Around this time of year, people in Alaska have a playful
tug-of-war between summer and winter. Those born in winter take winter's side -
those born in summer stand opposite. If the summer side wins, winter will be
mild and goodness will prevail. This activity is for children, and it
reinforces the idea of seasonal cycles. Place a ribbon in the middle of the tug
rope with the name of these sisters painted upon it. When the game is over, see
which side the goddess landed upon to know what the weather will be like!
If it rains today, it's a sign of the Goddesses playing together, so get
outside and join them (even if cold weather keeps this brief)! Thunder on your
right tells of better days ahead. Thunder on your left warns that caution is
prudent. Lightning stretching across the sky symbolizes your ability to
likewise stretch and grow. Lightning in front of you represents your ability to
go forward boldly with your plans, knowing these Goddesses light your way.

Oracular traditions like the Scandinavian runes are symbolic languages developed
over the ages. They themselves
have no power. Tarot cards have no power, coffee grounds have no power,
astrological charts have no power. But there is
power in the intuitive mind, which uses these symbolic systems to make sense of
the chaos of experience.
Our minds can find other ways to tap into intuitive perceptions. Everyone has
intuition. It is simply the ability to see
patterns that have not yet made themselves visible. It is like looking at a city
from the air. Long arterial streets cut
across the grid of square blocks, raying out to form distinctive designs. On the
ground, we may travel one of these
streets, unaware of how it forms the pattern of the city, but from the air
nothing could be more obvious. Intuition is
like that. Runes and cards can help focus that, but the intuition itself is one
of the mind's great powers.

Letter Spell

Letter Spell
Incense of the day: Coriander
To express your need, try writing a letter as though you were writing to a dear
friend. This is good practice for communicating with others and for knowing
yourself. Choose paper and ink color that best corresponds to your need.
Decorate the paper, making it as visually attractive as possible. Use paint,
markers, stickers, colored pencils, drawings, pictures, or use a computer and
add clip art. Take the letter outside and read it to the universe or to the
deity of your choice. Know that someone is listening and hearing your plea. End
with this statement: "I will take action necessary to support my desire. For
the good of all and harm to none, so mote it be." To add extra energy, mail the
letter to yourself. After you receive it, place it on your altar until the
spell manifests.

Vote, but keep moving, don't vote from the same position twice. Synchronize voting as best you can to hide your numbers. Never start voting unless your ready to finish. Vote like you mean it, don't simply spray ballets into the air. Any voter who falls deserves the same treatment, whatever side he's on.
And whoever wins, every voter deserves our respect.
