Power Animal of the Day: Giraffe

The Giraffe

Uniqueness
Foresight          Self-Acceptance

Take
a deep breath and let the spirit of the giraffe fill you.

Click here to Listen to the Giraffe's Song.

Welcome the
great powers of the giraffe into your life, for she will be of great help to
you.

First and
foremost, the giraffe loves her body.  She loves that she is unique in all the
world and she knows and owns her beauty.  She does not waste a single minute in
wishing she were anything other than what she is, just as she is.  Let her teach
you this love of your own body, even though you are, of course, not like
everyone else.

The giraffe
will also give you the gift of foresight, for her height lets her see what is
coming from great distances.  Nothing catches her by surprise, for she can see
not only what is heading her way, but can run as fast as the wind if she does
not like what she sees.  Learn from her to intuitively sense what is coming.
Just breathe in the giraffe spirit before you make any major decisions and she
will help you to see what is on its way to you.  What you see may be too far
away for others to see, but you are the giraffe.

The giraffe
will also bring you the gift of camouflage, her spots blending in with the
hillside and her long neck with the tree tops themselves.  With her energy
within you, you will be able to find ways to maintain your own uniqueness while
sharing the world with others.  Her highly social nature will help you find the
right balance between being exactly who you are, shining out with your wonder,
while also fitting in with the group when you care to.

You are all
of this:  unique, yet socially adept; far-seeing and intuitive; and completely
comfortable with your physical self.  How blessed you are to be the giraffe!

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.'   The Universal Heart Center   http://www.freewebs.com/moshayra

Quado's Garden: Feel the Joy!

Feel
the Joy!

Today, let joy bubble
up from inside you and overflow.  Express joy at every possible opportunity.

If this seems impossible,
then come down into this moment, into now, right now.  Release the past and its
regrets.  Release the future and your worries.  Come deeply into the moment and
find the joy.

And if you still do not
feel the joy, then it is time to allow your higher self to enter and teach you
joy.

Relax and breathe deeply
several times.  Center yourself completely into now, this moment.  Picture a
bright ball of energy above you and know it as your own higher self, your own
soul self, glowing above you, full of love, joy and wisdom.

Then consciously open up
the crown of your head and picture the golden band of energy that flows into
you.  Feel it.  See how it widens.  Feel the flow of love.  Feel the flow of
wisdom and knowingness.  Feel the joy.

Continue to focus on this
flow until the joy fills you so completely that you begin to smile.

This joy does not need a
reason to be.  This joy does not need anything outside of you.  This joy is.
And it is there for you ever and always.

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.'   The Universal Heart Center   http://www.freewebs.com/moshayra

Daily Devotions of the Goddess

Commonsense, is the knowing within your spirit of what is right to do and when you should do it.
Logic, is only the rational of whether or not you should listen to your commonsense.

Abraham Hicks: Daily Quote - 11/07/2010

If you wait until your body is completely dehydrated before you drink
something or completely emaciated before you eat something, your body can
get far out of balance. While it is possible to eventually bring your
body back to a state of well-beingâ€"it is much easier to
maintain a healthy physical balance than to recover it after losing
it.Most people never put themselves into the dramatic
situation where they are without water or food to the point of doing
damage to their physical bodies; however, it is not uncommon for people
to deprive their bodies of something equally important: alignment with
Source Energy. In the same way that it is a good idea to drink when
you feel the indication of thirstâ€"and therefore maintain your
Well-Being long before dehydration is experiencedâ€"it is equally
important to change the thought and release resistance at the first
indication of negative emotion. For while it is certainly possible to
withstand negative emotion for long periods of time, it is not the
optimal experience for the cells of your physical body. When
you learn to release resistance in the early, subtle stages, your physical
body must thrive. Thriving is what is natural to you.

Goddess of the Day: AHNT KAI Sadie Hawkins Day (US)

Goddess of the Day: AHNT KAI
Sadie Hawkins Day (US)

Themes: Balance, Femininity, Freedom, Protection, Fertility, Overcoming
Symbols: Fish, Sacred Music and Dancing

About Ahnt Kai: In Mexico this Goddess of women and children taught them how to freely dance and sing, expressing
the beauty within and liberating them from societal constraints. In myths of the Seris, Ahnt Kai specifically teaches the
fish dance, alluding to fertility.

To Do Today: Sometime around the 1930s a comic strip artist captured the image of Sadie Hawkins optimistically stepping
outside the usual boundaries of
"womanhood" to ask a man for a date. The custom continued through
special dances for many decades, as people reveled in
Ahnt Kai's liberating atmosphere. Thus, for both women and men, today is a time to free yourself from any restricting, stereotypical, negative or outmoded images that
originate with your yourself, others, the media or the public. Ahnt
Kai's counsel today is to remember that true comeliness, true beauty, is not measured by externals ~ it begins within as we reunite ourselves with the Goddess and learn to love ourselves just as we are.

Add fish to your diet today (maybe a tuna sandwich) to internalize self-love and begin the process of personal liberation. Name the meal after an attribute needed to overcome your constraints. Ask the
Goddess to bless your food, then eat with anticipation and
self-confidence!

African Chant

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Nov 7, 2010 7:22 am (PST)

In the shadows,
in the dark forest,
something follows you -
death follows you,
tearing the leaves,
ripping the calabash.
But Oya protects you.
She rips death's body.
Great Oya! Yes!
~African Chant

The role of the Goddess as our protector is emphasized in many myths, songs, and chants. Yet it could be said that the goddess helps those who help themselves. Or that our inner Goddess must be invoked for protection, so that we act in
accordance with what is in our best interest.

Yet another way to
describe the Goddess' protective agency is to realize that we receive
substantial information through our senses, and we can live more safely
and happily if we listen to that information. If we feel uneasy in a
certain situation, there may be reason to feel so. If we feel in danger, we should act upon that feeling, rather than talking ourselves out of
following our instincts. One of the Goddess' gifts to us is our body,
with its rich repertoire of instinct and perception. Paying attention to those instincts, those perceptions, is one way of honoring her.

Money Punch

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Nov 7, 2010 7:26 am (PST)

Money Punch
For wealth, abundance and resources

2 Cups Dark Rum
1 Cup Kahlua
2 tsp. Sugar
1 Orange, Sliced
1 1/2 qts Orange Coffee
2 Medium Cinnamon Sticks
4 Whole Cloves
3/4 tsp. Nutmeg
Whole Almonds

Place Rum, Kahlua, and sugar together in a large heat proof serving bowl.
Light the liquid, using the coffee to extinguish it slowly. This allows
the entire mixture to reach your guests warm. Add spices, float orange
slices on top, and allow mixture to sit until it reaches a comfortable
sipping temperature. Serve garnished with one almond per cup.

All ingredients in this punch have money-attracting attribute. Oranges were a symbol of prosperity in the Middle Ages due to their high import
cost.

Name: Sandi

How many years young are you?
I am 40 years old and happy to be old and wise rather than young and stupid as I was in youth. I am an Aquarius sun, Cancer moon , Gemini ascending. Yeah , I am a bit of a mess.

What town/county do you live in?:
I am originally from Orlando, Florida but I now live in Pensacola. I hope to be in the NC mountains soon.

What path/belief/tradition/religion do you follow or drawn too?
Hmmm? This is a tough question because I have gone through a bit of a transformation and although I am a witch my beliefs tend to be more spiritual , Native American, and sometimes agnostic. It seems I am in a kind of rebirth. One thing I am sure of is that I am part of nature and that is where I find God/dess.

Which God/Goddess are you closest to?:
HMMM, Well, I will always be faithful and grateful to my mother Hecate but I feel more of a connection when I address mother father nurturer, protector, provider . I guess this could be part of my transition . Feels right to me.

Do you have a "totem" or power animal?:
Cats , specifically ferals. Of course I have a love hate relationship with frogs . They fascinate me but scare me.

What other "non-pagan" things are you interested in?:
Oh boy ! Don't hold it against me but I love Documentaries! I do lot of research on ancient history and the Sumerian texts as well as any other religious history, even if it involves aliens. Actually I love alien theories and the way figure into the 2012 prophesy. I also love conspiracy theories such as NWO and the reptilian Illuminati.
Oh and I am an accounting major at Pensacola state College planning on transferring to UWF.

How long have you been interested/studying/practicing?:
My Grandmother raised me in her Native American ways not as a religion because our past is really disconnected but she always said she was Lutheran , i have no idea what that is because she never said. I guess I made a complete change over after 9/11 , although I had been dabbling in Santeria and divination before that.

Do you have a book of Shadows?:
I keep journals! years and years of journals. Some of poetry and prayers , other more like diaries and self discovery. I keep a lot of my stuff on my pc on files.

Do you have an Altar?:
Yes, It was boxed for awhile and I recently set it back up. Right now it is so cluttered because my beliefs are so varied. When you research and study you see the similarities in all religions. During my recent research I was pronounced a member of Islam. Still confused on how that happened but I have the certificate to prove it . (peace be with you all). I will ad this to my alter but I guess then I'll have to pull up my pentecostal baptism and my mormom membership too.

Coven or solitary? preference?
Ummm, well is there an Islamic , Sumerian , wiccan, spiritualist, shamanic, alien cult, coven around? Ok, I'd say eclectic solitary.

What is your favorite Witchcraft, Paganism, Magic web site?:
I don't think I have one. Does nat geo count?

Anything else you'd like to tell the group about yourself or
your path?
I believe that life is a journey on a path of knowledge with the end wisdom and self discovery. All paths lead to God/dess.
Blessed be!

Trees to be used for durable purposes should be
cut only during the first and last quarters of the moon.

2011 Discussion Ideas in the works

2011 Discussion Ideas in the works

People want to spice up the groups a little more and add some experiences and teachings a bit,

what I am thinking of doing is a Monthly Topic Learning Tools, how it works is I am expecting

everyone to add something to it where as we learn from each other not someone telling you how.

I am very against someone telling you how to learn or what to learn, not everyone sees things the same
but we can agree on subjects where we can learn from others experiences and also add info and questions
on that topic. Example, I'll post up a Monthly Topic on "Astrology" we'll start off that first week
talking about planets and meanings (book recommendations and store owners if you have classes share dates)
the second week signs and meanings, third week we can move on to how to use astrology (hoping some will chime

in and share that with us) and 4th week we'll combine everything then add in what you can use with it

example like Tarot.

Then we'll move onto the next month wit an entire new subject, I"ll prob start this up before 2011 and s
stretch it into January this way gives everyone an opportunity to use those minds and participate with

the reminder this is for practice and sharing we don't tell anyone how to workshop or practice!

2011 Discussion Ideas in the works
People want to spice up the groups a little more and add some experiences and teachings a bit,
what I am thinking of doing is a Monthly Topic Learning Tools, how it
works is I am expecting
everyone to add something to it where as we learn from each other not someone telling you how.
I am very against someone telling you how to learn or what to learn, not everyone sees things the samebut we can agree on subjects where we can learn from others experiences and also add info and questionson that topic.  Example, I'll post up a Monthly Topic on "Astrology" we'll start off that first weektalking about planets and meanings (book recommendations and store owners if you have classes share dates)the second week signs and meanings, third week we can move on to how to
use astrology (hoping some will chime
in and share that with us) and 4th week we'll combine  everything then add in what you can use with it
example like Tarot.

Then we'll move onto the next
month wit an entire new subject, I"ll prob start this up before 2011 and sstretch it into January this way gives everyone an opportunity to use those minds and participate with
the reminder this is for practice and sharing we don't tell anyone how to workshop or practice!

Today's Goddess: .Oki-Tsu-Hime  Festival of the Kitchen Goddess (Jap

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Today's Goddess: .Oki-Tsu-Hime
Festival of the Kitchen Goddess (Japan)

Themes: Fire; Providence; Kinship; Health
Symbols: All Fire Sources (especially those cooked upon); Boiling Water

About Oki-Tsu-Hime: Oki-Tsu-Hime is the Shinto Goddess of kitchens in Japan. Here she
watches over all foods prepared and over family interaction to keep
health and emotional warmth in the home. Traditionally, any pot of
boiling water represents this Goddess's activity.

To Do Today: As in Japan, today is the perfect time to honor those people who
prepare your food (even if it's you!) Give your kitchen goddess the day
off and go out to eat. Or, alternatively, uplift the kitchen Goddess's
talents by preparing a truly sumptuous meal of all your family
favorites. Leave a small portion of each course on or near your stove as an offering to Oki-Tsu-Hime. Later, put these tidbits in the compost,
or outside for the birds, so the goddess' blessings will continue to
generate good things.

Light a candle today,
and get out some cleaning utensils to scrub the stove, toaster oven, or
microwave so that Oki-Tsu-Hime's energy can really shine in the area
where you prepare most of your meals. Symbolically, the cleaning process washes away sickness and negativity. Afterward, light or turn on that
appliance for a moment to draw the kitchen goddess back to her honored
place of residence.

Magical Apple Doll Spell

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Nov 7, 2010 7:57 pm (PST)

Magical Apple Doll Spell

In
Appalachia there is a charming folk art custom of making apple dolls.
These dolls lend themselves to many magical uses. A few nights before an autumn Full Moon, peel a red apple, then carve a face into it. As you
do this concentrate on your magical intent. It may be used as a
protective house talisman, or as a love charm. Hang the apple by a wire
to dry for about three weeks, and don’t disturb it or the enchantment
will be lost. The face will take on its own characteristics as it dries. Use as a poppet, or attach the apple to a stick and dress it with
scraps of cloth to create a folk doll. Keep the doll to protect your
home, or release the spell at Yule by burning the doll in a holiday
fire.~ James Kambos

Apuleius, The Golden Ass

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sun Nov 7, 2010 7:59 pm (PST)

There is a secret hour of the night
when the goddess rises in the moon,
the great queen of all humanity,
full of power and majesty.
She shines on us, and all of us
are enlivened by her. all of us:
animals, both wild and tame,
and plants and trees, and even
rocks, clouds and oceans,
for everything has its rhythm,
everything has its ebbs and flows.
Whether in the air, on earth, or
beneath the sea, everything is hers.
~Apuleius, The Golden Ass

The moon
is, in many cultures, a symbol of feminine principle, representing the
powerful cycles of nature we see all around us. But these cycles are as
much within us as around us. Women, like the ocean, respond monthly to
the call of the moon, our bodies linked with that pale luminary glow
through our courses. But men may also respond to the lunar pull, in ways we do not understand without the visible evidence women's bodies
provide.

Male or
female, our bodies are saltwater like the sea, and like the sea we are
pulled by that great presence in our earthly sky, whom the ancients
called the Queen of Night. Living with nature's cycles attunes us to our connection with the universe and its mistress. Attending to the cycles
of the moon structures our lives into a natural ebb and flow, allowing
us to grow aware of our need to have both in balance.

Daily Aromatherapy Tip

Lemon has high antibacterial properties. It's antiseptic properties will last for 20 days.

It is a powerful bactericide and great for kitchen clean ups.

Add to dishwashing liquid or any mild hand soap.

Use in a spray for disinfecting the air.

Keep a spray bottle handy for quick cleanups in children's playroom.

You'll find plenty of other uses I'm sure.
