Facing Forward

Today I walk forward into the direction of my dreams..

Nothing I can do about the past for it has gone … today I look at the
here and now and work towards the future.

Sitting idle waiting … accomplishes nothing

Even if today you only take one step toward your goals/dreams…
that's one step closer than you were before.

We can't always go full speed ahead .. and that's ok … take the
time you need to take and go at your own pace.. as long as you are
walking forward.

Walk with love and honor in your heart and you'll not go wrong.

Actually, if you have access to some cross stitch patterns that could be
used for ritual cloths or crochet projects for amulet bags or other pagan
accoutrements and would like to share, I, for one, would be grateful. I
knit and crochet and greatly admire the work of others.

The last part of the ancient Roman festival was called the Hilaria, for it was a hilarious day of laughter and joy. It affirmed that life rises out of death, that good times follow bad. The myth behind the festival is that, faced with the loss of her lover, the goddess turned his blood into a springtime flower so that he would always spring forth and remind her of her love for him. He was reborn, reunited with her, each spring in this way.

In the same way, the cycles of life bring us good things after periods of difficulty. There is no life which is perfect, no life which has not endured some loss. We may have love, but not enough money; we may have family, but no partner; we may have work, but no love. Like a garden, we find different parts of our life blooming at different times. The wisdom of our foremothers permitted sharing grief for what is missing, with the knowledge that even the sharpest grief is ultimately healed.

Full Worm - March Moon As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.

Worm Moon, Seed Moon, Plow Moon, or Planting Moon, this is a time for balance, growth, Worm Moon, manifestation,
self-confidence, acting on opportunity, and love magic.

Celebration of the Mother Goddesses

Have on your altar a red candle for each woman doing the ritual.  Dress the candles with Rose, Aphrodite, or Yemaya oil if you have any of these.

Burn an incense that has a spicy or floral scent.  If you have a white altar cloth, that would be good to use so everything will show up clearly.  If you have any red or pink flowers, or carnations that are white and red, that would be excellent to have on the altar.  Any statues that you have of the Mother Goddesses and Love Goddesses will be good.  Also, since Yemaya the Ocean Mother is a summer goddess, a statue of her or a mermaid could be added.  If

you do not have statues, you could draw pictures or make a collage of pictures of mothers, and/or sensual women.  To be in a room that feels sensual and feminine that you can decorate, would add to the ambiance.

Cast your Circle, and light the red candles.  You might want to have tealight candles floating upon water.  Then visualize the fully formed and shaped goddesses of sexuality and coming motherhood.  Chant this poem three times, and visualize yourself becoming sensual and 'at one' with your favorite sensual goddess.

"I am the Mother Goddess,
A sexual being.
My womb is ready for love,
My children yet to be born.
My breasts are fuller than a maiden's
My thighs are much rounder
But they can shake with love,
And my belly rumble with laughter.
I celebrate the warmth of Summer
And the heat of lovers' passion.
I am Aphrodite, burning with love,
I am Pele, the volcano!
I am Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess
Lighting the way for all women;
Burning away the heavy clothes and chains
That bound us in a patriarchal prison.
I am the Mother Goddess,
I am all women.
My loins are always ready for love,
And you are all my children."

After chanting this three times, open the circle.  Then each carry your candle outside if possible, to breathe in the air and look at the moon, knowing that the Mother Goddess is with each of you, and inside you.

Then come back inside and have light 'cakes and ale' to ground yourself after the ritual.
