Children and Music
Posted: 22 Mar 2011 07:58 PM PDT
Kids of all types seem to love music, whether it it listening to or making their own. Among pagan families drums and rattles seem to be preferred. But these things can be expensive so here is a rattle that you can make with your children
Things You Will Need
Empty Coffee Cans
Construction Paper
Glue
Scissors
Dry Beans or Rice
Instructions
1. Make sure the coffee cans are clean
2. Measure the construction paper to fit around the cans
3. Decorate the paper
4. Glue the paper around the cans
5. If you wish to go a step further and make rattles then add the beans or rice
6. Make music and have fun
Now that you have an instrument you need music to sing.
Goddess Chant
Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate, Demeter, Kali
We all come from the Goddess by Z. Budapest and Ian Corrigan
We all come from the Goddess
and to her we shall return
like a drop of rain
flowing to the ocean.
Hoof and horn, hoof and horn
All that dies shall be reborn
Corn and grain, corn and grain
All that falls shall rise again
The River is Flowing by Diana Hildebrand-Hull
The river she is flowing
flowing and growing
The river she is flowing
down to the sea
Mother, carry me
Your child I will always be
Mother, carry me
down to the sea
And be sure to download my ebook on Including Children in Ritual.

The Candle

There is a candle glowing inside me
Dare to open your eyes and take a peek
Come on, see what you can see
Is it strong or is it weak
Sometimes I feel it wavering in the night
But still, I am lit from within by its light
Flickering away deep in my soul
This light tho aged, never grows old
Swaying in the breeze
Its flame never does seize
Though at times it seems to douse
The light is always there
Ready to roar like a lion or hide like the mouse
It burns steady, deep inside my soul
I'm sharing it with you now, so you'll also know
This burning flame starts in my heart
But fills my whole being, my every part
Always there, ready to roar
Filling me with the ability to soar
Now its up to me from here on out
To hold that light in or let it shine, let it shout!
There is a candle inside me, glowing ever so bright
Do you dare take a peek
A quick glance at its light?
There is a candle inside me….
Burning bright every day and every night!
Come on take a look and you will see
That's my light, I share it with thee.
Many Blessings,

DailyOM - Staying in Pain
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
March 23, 2011
Stuck in the Mud
Staying in Pain
Pain comes and goes- it is when we get stuck in our pain that it becomes detrimental to our well-being and development.
Pain comes and it goes. It is just one component to the grand cycle of life. And when experienced as such, pain can serve as an important teacher. It is when we get stuck in our pain that it becomes detrimental to our well-being and development. If you notice that you feel closed-off, resentful, heavy-hearted, or that you try very hard to avoid being hurt again, there may be a part of you that is still stuck in pain.
We can get stuck in our pain for many reasons. As children, it was natural for us to cry, throw a tantrum, and let the experience move through us. By fully feeling our pain in this way, our emotions would wash us clean, leaving us open and available to new experiences. With age, though, we might have determined that expressing emotion was no longer appropriate, and so we developed a variety of coping strategies to deal with our discomfort. We may have learned to stuff our feelings down or to run away from them. Perhaps we began thinking that staying closed and unwilling to try new things would keep us safe from heartbreak, safe from rejection, and safe from failure. We may have even gotten so used to being in pain that the thought of being without it scares us. But, if we continue to hold onto it longer than necessary, we are expending a lot of energy that could instead be channeled into making our life experiences more positive.
If you notice that you are continually connecting with the same familiar patterns of pain, consider embracing your feelings and letting go of your hurt. Whether your pain is from childhood or from an experience last week, see if you can give it room to move. When it does, you will reconnect with a wonderful source of your own vital energy.

Goddess of The Day: Tamra Crane Watch (Nebraska)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Goddess of The Day: Tamra
Crane Watch (Nebraska)
Themes: Air; Earth; Nature; Health; Longevity; Devotion; Wishes; Relationships Symbols: Feathers; Birdseed
About Tamra: In Hindu tradition, this Goddess was the ancestor of all birds. As such, she can teach us their special language, which often bears communications from the divine. As the consort of the Turtle God, Kashyapa, she also represents a potent union between earth and air elements. To Do: People in Nebraska spend six weeks watching the cranes who rest and feed here during the migratory season. This region of the United States boasts the largest group of sandhill cranes, about 50,000 birds. Magically speaking, these creatures represent health, longevity, and devotion. Visualize a crane residing in your heart chakra anytime you feel your eyes straying from the one you love, or whenever you need improved well-being.
Birds offer numerous magical applications. For warmth in a relationship, scatter feathers to the winds with your wish. The birds will use the feathers in their nests, symbolically keeping your nest intact and affectionate. Or, disperse birdseed while thinking of a question. As the birds fly away, watch their movement. Flight to the right indicates a positive response; to the left is negative. If the birds scatter, things are "iffy". If they fly straight up overhead, a heartfelt wish is being taken to Tamra.

Re: Pagan 'stuff' available FREE

Hi! I live in Midland Park and am moving to Arizona shortly. Like, as soon as I can sell my house. In the past I had a .com retail website called 'The Dragon's Lair' which I actually dissolved in 2006. I still have 'product' that I'd prefer to go to a good home. New tarot decks, some Shoyeido incense, mini pillar candle holders, some mini pillars, lots of ritual kits, prisms, some jewelry and wands (both crystal and wood), and much more. Please contact me at clwulfers@gmail.com to make arrangements to come, see what I've got and hopefully give my 'stuff' a good home(s).
ASAP is best on this, because I'm going to be starting to show the house next week. The sooner I can make space the better.
Please help!

Russian Folksong
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

O Spring, beautiful Season!
O Goddess, beautiful Goddess!
Come with joy to us now,
with goodness and plenty.
Come with tall flax that
roots deeply in the field.
Come with corn, lots
of corn, lots and lots of corn!
Look, we have sent girls to you
bearing gifts to make you happy:
look, we have sent them to you
bearing cakes made with fried eggs.
~Russian Folksong
The Earth will bear for a long time with no return. She will keep giving and giving, providing us with food and water and air. But even the Goddess cannot go on without getting. If we only take from the Earth, and never give back, we will eventually deplete even her vast energy.
Agricultural people across the world have recognized the need to offer food to the earth - to put back into the earth nutrients we have taken from it. Today we send our garbage out to sea; we turn our back on the mountains of discards that stand as sentinels to all our cities. To truly honor the Goddess is to seek to rectify that imbalance, to give back to the Earth so that she can continue to give to us, her children.
