Awareness Shop AwareMail

The Awareness Shop is holding a Psychic Fair on Saturday January 28th
Psychic Fairs have started again beginning this Saturday from 12-5!
If you've never been to one of our Psychic Fairs before, it's about time you 'took the plunge' and come join in the fun... There's a whole lot going on!
Today, $10 Bucks Goes A Long Way!
For starters, you can get a reading from one of our talented psychics for just $10 for 10 minutes.. if that's not long enough for you, you can book up to 1 hour with the same reader, in ten minute blocks... or, should you prefer, you can get a whole bunch of readings from several different psychics! (if you feel like you need a second, third or even fourth opinion)
We also have Chair Massage and Reiki Sessions available throughout the day - also just $10 for 10 minutes

Plus - Lisa has said she intends to practice many 'random acts of kindness' throughout the day... who knows what they'll be.. could be anything from a simple hug or blessing through to crazy discounts and free stuff.. it's all down to how the spirit moves her!
And speaking of Random Acts of Kindness... Just by opening this email you could well become the recipient of one! As we've decided, from this email going forwards, we will be sending Random Acts of Kindness to some of the good people who take the time to read our emails... You don't need to spend anything, sign up for anything, or even actually do anything... it's all completely random!
You Will Also Be Helping Our Church
Towards the end of last year our circle became officially recognized by the Federal Government as a church and gained 501 (c) (3) status. As such, any contributions or donations you make are tax deductable.
As part of our fund raising efforts, members of our community have donated some valuable and desirable items which we will be raffling off during the fair.
Plus we'll be providing light refreshments (by donation) throughout the day.. so come hungry, come thirsty.. but, most importantly, just come.
It all kicks off at 12.00 and runs through to 5.00pm - we very much hope to see you there.

The name carnation has two possible origins. One thought is that the name comes from "coronation" or "corone" since it was used in Greek ceremonial crowns. Another thought is the name is derived from the Greek carnis meaning flesh, which was the original flower color.

Carnations in general mean fascination, love and good luck. A white carnation stands for innocence, devotion and pure love.
For the New Year girls put three carnations in their hair. If the top flower dies first, the girls' later years of life will be arduous. If the middle flower dies first, her earlier years will bring her the most grief. If the bottom flower dies first, the girl will be miserable her entire life.

Carnations and the Colors

The Allerwood Wyrm - A great, scaly flying serpent laid waste the environs of Aller in Somerset with its poisonous breath. Sir John of Aller armoured himself with a coat of pitch and a mask to protect him from the dragon’s breath, and armed with a long spear, he fought and killed the dragon in its cave. He also found there however, several infants, and so he ran back to his home to fetch two men to seal the cave’s entrance before he himself dyed of injuries sustained in the fight. The nearby church of Low Ham, displays John’s nine-foot long spear which he used to kill the dragon.

Concordia - Roman peace festival, birthday of the Goddesses Pax and Irene.

Parade of the Unicorns - In the country of Vietnam, a mythical and centuries-old Parade of the Unicorns takes place each year on this date (approximately)

Today's Goddess: SPIDER WOMAN Hikuli Dance (Mexico)

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sat Jan 28, 2012 9:50 pm (PST)

Today's Goddess: SPIDER WOMAN
Hikuli Dance (Mexico)

Themes: Magickal Charms; Growth
Symbols: Spiders; Woven Items

About Spider Woman: Spider Woman appears in the myths of the southwestern Native
Americans as a resourceful helper who spins magickal charms and each
person's fate. No matter what problems or obstacles you face, Spider
Woman creates the right network of energy to put you on the road toward
accomplishment.

To Do Today: In metaphysical traditions, all life is seen as a network within which
each individual is one strand. Spider Woman reveals the power and
purpose of each strand physically and keeps you aware of those important connections in your life. To augment this, get a Native American dream
catcher, which looks like a web, and hang it over your bed so Spider
Woman can reveal her lessons while you sleep. Or, carry a woven item
with you today. It will strengthen your relationship with this ancient
helpmate and extend positive energy for success in all you do.

In Mexico,
the Native Americans perform the Hikuli dance today, searching out
peyote for their religious rites. As part of this ceremony, worshippers
dance to reach altered states of awareness, honor the ancestors, and
help crops to grow. So, if your schedule allows, put on some music and
boogie! Visualize a web as you move, and empower your future path with
the sacred energies of Spider Woman's dance.

Clearing Up Spell

Sat Jan 28, 2012 9:52 pm (PST)

Clearing Up Spell

This is a favorable day for clearing up old business from last year.
If you have too many debts from the holiday season, deal with them now.
After paying what you can and mailing the checks, make a stack of the portion of your bill receipts.
Put a piece of malachite on them, the larger the better. Light a green candle, and say:

"Debt flow out,
cash flow in.
Without a doubt,
money I win."

Then blow out the candle. Remember, the extra money that comes to you has to be used to pay your debts or the magic
will stop working.    ~ Magenta Griffith

Daily Aromatherapy Tip  -  Hot Rock Massage

This is a spa treatment from the Arizona desert. Select a large, flat smooth stone, the size of your palm Heat stone in a low temperature  oven until warm but not hot. Rub some scented
massage oil into the stone and use this heated rock to give your partner a soothing massage.

The heat from the stone relaxes and penetrates the muscles.  Use up to 15 drops of essential oils per 1 oz. of unscented oil.  Start with less drops, you can always add more. Try Sweet Almond,
Safflower or Apricot Oil.

What Is A Tincture?

What Is A Tincture?
By: Wystira Moonsinger, January, 2004

What is a tincture?  Well, tinctures are mixtures of mostly bitter herbs and alcohol.  You can use grain alcohol,
vodka, rum, brandy, whatever you desire.  When using bitter herbs, something is needed to "cover up" the strong,
sometimes nasty taste of the herbs and alcohol does just that.  When making a tincture, keep in mind if you're
going to use it on adults or children.  You should never use alcohol for children.  If you're going to be giving the
tincture to children, try using cider vinegar instead of the alcohol.  But, remember, vinegar doesn't extract certain
herbs as well as the alcohol.

Tinctures are a more concentrated than either infusions or decoctions.  You can usually store your tinctures for
up to 2 years.  The dosage for a tincture is usually 1/2 to 1 teaspoon up to 3 times per day.

Remember: always store your preparations in a sterilized glass container with a non-metalic lid.

Precaution:
Never use rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol for making tinctures.
These are both highly toxic and should NEVER be taken internally.

A Basic Recipe for a Tincture

1.  1 oz. dried herb
2.  5 oz. alcohol (or vinegar for children)
3.  Combine the ingredients in a clean, sterized glass jar with a non-metalic lid.
4.  Keep the jar in a cool, dry place from 2 to 6 weeks.
5.  Shake the jar periodically to help keep the extract active.
6.  After 2-6 weeks, strain the liquid into another clean, sterilized glass jar.
7.  The tincture may be safely stored for up to 2 years.
8.  Dosage:1/2 to 1 teaspoon, no more than 3 times per day.

Siberian Shaman Chant

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Sat Jan 28, 2012 10:03 pm (PST)

At the fireside
I want to sing.
At the fireside
I want to call spirits.

Here among you
my body will rest
while my soul travels
to the center of the earth.

When I return, I will sing:
children, here is what
I have learned, here
is what you need to know.

Children, children!
Go with the sun!
Direct your steps to her,
to the mother of morning!
 ~Siberian Shaman Chant

The
sun, which daily grew weaker until the winter solstice, has been
growing in strength for many weeks now. The almost imperceptible
extension of daylight has barely been noticeable. Yet now, a sunny day
hints of spring not long away, while mornings seem suddenly brighter.

So it is with all matters of our lives. In the dark side, in our dreams, in our deepest selves, we grow and change. Yet these changes are not immediately visible to those around us - or even, sometimes, to ourselves. Growth and change take great patience and forbearance. We
change one cell a minute at a time, just as the sun's slow movement
across the sky create the great seasonal changes of our earthly year.
