Focus on Abilities
December 3
Friday

Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Rose

Today is recognized as the International Day of People with a
Disability. For this spell, altruism is the key. If you have been
diagnosed with a disability of any type, consider this spell as one that will partially affect you. Otherwise, focus your energy solely on
assisting and helping other individuals—this is one of the most
important parts of living the Craft. Take a white candle and inscribe
the word ability on it. Anoint it with a "solar" oil for courage, such
as orange, cinnamon, or marigold/calendula. To add an extra boost to the candle spell, place a mixture of the aforementioned herbs (or other
herbs associated with the Sun) at the base of the candle. Next, speak
the following:
I ignite this flame to
recognize and honor all those individuals who struggle with a
disability. As this candle burns, I send forth the energy of strength to those who feel disadvantaged in their minds or bodies. I project the
energies of life and love, and ask the spirits of healing and balance to bless the disabled with the awareness of their abilities. Ability of
the mind. Ability of the body. Ability of the spirit.
So mote it be.

Elder's Meditation of the Day December 3

Elder's Meditation of the Day December 3
"Listen to the howl of our spiritual
brother, the wolf, for how it goes with
him, so it goes for the natural world."
--Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders
If we watch nature, we can tell a lot about what
is going on in the world. The animals and the
plants are great teachers. Some time ago, crops
were sprayed with a poison to kill the insects.
Other animals ate the insects. The small animals
were eaten by the Eagles and the Wolves.
We live in an interconnected system. What we
do to one, we do to all. If our spiritual brothers
are living in balance, chances are we humans
are also living in balance.
Great Spirit,
let me listen to
my Earth
teachers, the
plants and the
animals.

Friday Finds An Idea!...Dec 3

As we know the goal is to live our lives magically in the moment every day and while it would be nice to go and buy all the cool witchy stuff that is out there...their is so much in every day objects that we can use around the home.

Post up an every day object once a week and let the creative juices flow and post up what we would or could possibly use it for magically.

I thought it would be kinda cool and inspiring...whatcha think..

Power Animal of the Day: Squirrel

Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

The Squirrel

Abundance
Joy          Resourcefulness

Take
a deep breath and let the spirit of the squirrel fill you.

Click here to Listen to the Squirrel's Song.

Your money
worries are over, for the squirrel will teach you how to manage your resources.
With squirrel power within you, you will find it natural and easy to set aside
money for those future projects and to provide for yourself during slower times
from the money you saved during flush times.  Your financial acuity will
increase as you find yourself developing new habits.

But the
squirrel is no stranger to fun.  You will find you can handle money easily and
then spend the remainder of your daytime hours scampering up a tree and chirping
to your fellows.  The squirrel knows how to balance enjoyment of the lovely
summer's day with doing what needs to be done to provide for the coming winter.

The squirrel
will infuse you with this spirit of the seasons, helping you to enjoy each one,
providing amply for yourself and your loved ones no matter what life brings.

The squirrel
also brings the gifts of persistence, resourcefulness and tenacity.  When he sees what he wants,
he finds a way to get it.

What a
relief it will be to have these strengths come easily to you, just by breathing
in the squirrel energy and putting an awareness before you of different ways to
live, enjoying today as fully as possible, while also setting aside for
tomorrow.

Quado's Garden: Give Yourself the Freedom to Make Mistakes

Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

http://www.quado.com/quados-garden/050913.htm

Give
Yourself the Freedom to Make Mistakes

If you are not making
any
mistakes, then you are not growing and learning, you are not stretching the
possibilities of what you can do and become.  Give yourself the freedom to make
many mistakes.  Just look upon these so-called failures as stepping stones to
get you where you wish to go.  Let each mistake and challenge propel you
forward, not stop you in your tracks.  Take what you learned, absorb it and then
move on.  Take the setback, learn from it and try again, this time taking on an
even larger challenge.

Let each test and challenge
make you wiser and stronger, building up your muscles of patience, understanding
and self-confidence.  After all, you survived.  Congratulate yourself on having
tried something new.  Congratulate yourself on being courageous enough to take
on a challenge.

Each brave act will lift
you higher and let you know even more about yourself and those around you.
There are no mistakes, no failures; there is only learning, only growth, being
and becoming

'May we live in peace without weeping. May our joy outline the lives we touch without ceasing. And may our love fill the world, angel wings tenderly beating.'   The Universal Heart Center   http://www.freewebs.com/moshayra

Herb of the Day: Mistletoe

Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com   mhc4sure

Fri Dec 3, 2010 8:42 am (PST)

Source: Lady Becky via Ravensgrove Coven

Herb of the Day:
Mistletoe
(Viscum Album- European Mistletoe; Phoradendron Leucarpum; Flavescens- American Mistletoe)
Warning! Poison!
Folk
Names: All Heal, Birdlime, Devil's Fuge, Donnerbesen, European
Mistletoe, Golden Bough, Holy Wood, Lignam Sanctae Crucis, Misseltoe,
Thunderbesem, Witches Broom, Wood of the Cross
Gender: Masculine
Planet: Sun
Element: Air
Deities: Apollo, Freya, Frigga, Venus, Odin
Powers: Protection, Love, Hunting, Fertility, Health, Exorcism
Ritual
Uses: As is well known, the Druids revered the mistletoe, especially
when found growing on an oak tree. It is cut on Midsummer's Day, or else
when the moon is six days old. One stroke of a gold sickle was once
used to cut the herb, and it was not allowed to touch the ground.
Magickal
Uses: Long used for protection against lightning, disease, misfortune
of every kind, fires, and so on. It is carried or placed in an
appropriate spot for these uses. The leaves and berries are used.

Mistletoe is placed in cradles to protect children from being stolen by
faeries and replaced with changelings. A ring, carved of mistletoe
wood, will ward off sickness when worn. The plant will cure fresh wounds
quickly when carried. (DO NOT APPLY TO THE WOUND)
Mistletoe is
also carried or worn for good luck in hunting. Women carry the herb to
aid in conception. It has also been utilized in spells designed to
capture that elusive state of immortality, and to open locks.
Laid
near the bedroom door, mistletoe gives restful sleep and beautiful
dreams, as is does when placed beneath the pillow or hung at the
headboard. Kiss your love beneath the mistletoe and you will stay in
love. Burned, mistletoe banishes evil. Wear it around your neck to
attain invisibility. Mistletoe is an all purpose herb.

Frost ore the ground were flowers stood,
As winter calls from her barren wood.
Let us share a cup of tea simmered slow,
While gentle and white falls the new snow.
