It starts in the head and transitions to the heart. This mental state is our inner stillness. Be still and know. This place of the heart is very joyous and peaceful. It is this place that we become one with God, our Creator.

I agree, I am a strong person with a strong stomach and this made my stomach feel queezie. How could anyone let their animals get in that condition? It seems impossible any of them lived from seeing the conditions.

I agree this woman should never be allowed to ever own another animal of any kind.

WORST

I have often worried about being turn in as an animal horded but after watching
this video in its entirety I take comfort in knowing that my rescues; 24 cats
and 3 dogs live in heaven.  We have built a cat fence around our entire
backyard.  Our dogs are walked twice a day.  All of the children have safe,
clean, dry, warm or cool places to sleep at night.  Everyone has plenty of food
and fresh water.  Toys are everywhere.. .  And it is true that if you want the
best seat in the house you have to move the cat, or dog.

On the side I help out with the TNR group in my area, taking care of the sick
kittens, fostering, providing food and supplies to them and their feeders and
manage two feral cat feeding stations by myself.

This video sickens me to no end and I too find it hard not to wish the worst on
all involved, but all I can do is pray for them and all the animals in the
world.

May peace be with all and may the divine spirit send abundant blessings,
Dorrene

Hi Nancy,

I pulled two kittens through distemper last year.  What are you doing for your
baby?  Force feeding, sub-Q?  Please make sure to give your baby a bit of Karo
syrup every 2 hours to keep the blood sugar level up.  And make sure he/she is
getting a bit of food.

Many blessings,
Dee

Magic liver elixer works wonders too!

Take a piece of beef liver and put it in a pan with water that just comes to the
sides of the liver, cook on a medium heat until the blood starts to rise on top
of the meat, remove pan from heat and drain the liquid into a dish and let it
cool, then feed it to your fur baby just a few droppers full every hour until
the liquid is gone. I breed dogs on occasion when I have enough people
interested in pups to sell a whole litter and get them into good homes. This is
a recipe that I use if I have a pup that is waning or seems to be weak. You'll
be amazed at the strength it gives them!

Blessed Be
Raven

Elder's Meditation of the Day--September 30

Elder's Meditation of the Day - September 30

"Don't be afraid to cry. It will free your mind of sorrowful thoughts."

--Don Talayesva, HOPI

Human beings function from choice. We can choose to stuff things, or we can choose to let go of things. If we choose to stuff things, then we will feel a heaviness, or sorrow, self pity or fear. Sometimes we feel the need to cry. Sometimes we are taught it is not okay to cry. The creator designed the human being to cry. Crying is a release. This release allows us to let go of thoughts that are not helping us so we can open to new thoughts that will help. Crying is natural for women and men.

Grandfather, if I need to cry, let me realize it's a natural process and help me to let go.

Pagan Clergy and Confidentiality

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:21 pm (PDT)

Pagan Clergy and Confidentiality
By Patti Wigington, About.com Guide

Being Pagan clergy can sometimes present a dilemma.

Question: Pagan Clergy and Confidentiality
A reader asks, “What guidelines are there in Pagan religions for clergy in matters of confidentiality? I am an ordained Pagan priest, and a member of the community has come to me with a problem. If I get involved, someone will end up in jail. However, if I don’t speak out, someone else will continue to be victimized. I don’t want to violate anyone’s trust, but I can’t stand by and see someone hurt. How do you think I should proceed?
Answer:
You know, this is a slippery slope that clergy of all religions have walked for centuries. There is certainly a need for confidentiality with any religious leader. After all, if we, as clergy, are to offer effective counsel to those who ask for it, those folks have to know that we will not betray their confidence.
On the other hand, there's the matter of doing what's right. If someone is being harmed, and you know about it, most Pagan traditions would argue that you have a responsibility to speak up and put a stop to it.
When someone comes to me in confidence and asks to speak to me as a priestess, it's typically because they need advice. They're trying to decide what to do about a potential job change, they want to know if they should go back to school, they need help communicating with their spouse or partner more effectively, and so on. It's rare that anyone has come to me with anything as dramatic as what you're describing, but here's what I would probably do in your circumstances.
First, I'd ask myself why the person chose to confide in me. Do they just want someone to talk to? Are they hoping I'll offer advice? If someone is in danger - either the person I'm speaking with, or someone they know - and they've come to me with their concerns, it's because they want help.
Next, I'd figure out the seriousness of the issue, and how it impacts the individual or the community at large. If someone comes to me and tells me they've just been diagnosed with a fatal disease, or that they're in recovery for addiction, that's no one's business but their own. There is no reason to share that with anyone - and chances are that they just want someone to listen to them. I'm happy to do that.
On the other hand, if someone comes to me and tells me they know their neighbor is abusing a child, or that their brother has killed someone and hidden the crime, then we're talking about not only and ethical and moral obligation here, but a legal one as well. While you can't be forced to speak out, most traditions would argue that it's your responsibility to do so.
Also, depending on what state you live in, there may be laws that require you to report certain situations, regardless of your status as an ordained clergy person. For example, in some states, anyone who has knowledge of the abuse of a child is required to report it to law enforcement, no matter who they are.
Finally, in any of the cases above, I would counsel the individual to seek help with law enforcement or other appropriate agencies. Perhaps you could sit with them and offer support while they make that phone call, or while they speak with social workers, and so forth. I've driven a battered woman and her children to a shelter, because she was afraid to do it herself, and couldn't take that step on her own. Empowering someone else to ask for help is often what they need you to do.
There's a great article from back in 1985 by Rev. Dr. Marie M. Fortune, in which she described the dilemma of a pastor who was made aware that a teenage girl in his congregation was being sexually abused by her father. Although the girl was terrified, the pastor told her how glad he was that she had come to him with this information. He also told her that although she didn't want anyone to know what was happening to her, the only way to stop her father from hurting her was to get other people involved. After much discussion, she finally understood that if she wanted to be safe, other people had to help too - and she called Children's Services from the pastor's office. The father was charged and convicted, and later went into treatment. The girl herself was able to get counseling from a qualified mental health professional. The pastor was able to help the girl to help herself, and so did not violate the trust she had placed in him.
Certainly, I would say if you believe a crime is being or has been committed, you've got a responsibility to the victim to make sure they get help. Because not every case is the same, you'll have to weigh the balance of your obligation for confidentiality against your role as a leader and helper of the community. It's all part of being clergy, and it isn't always easy. However, if you follow your ethical guidelines, and those of your particular tradition, you'll be far better equipped to make the right decision.

Money Drawing Powder

Money-Drawing Powder

When business is going through a slow period and income decreases, prepare a money-drawing powder. As a talcum powder for the body after bathing, it draws money toward you. Sprinkled on business documents and cash registers, it assists in gener-ating improved activity and profits. Sprinkled on the floor around a shop, the powder attracts enthusiastic customers. Make this potent powder using one tablespoon of powdered cinquefoil (five-finger grass), one ounce of powdered sandalwood, a quarter teaspoon of powdered cinnamon, one teaspoon of powdered yellow dock, a quarter dram of patchouli oil, a half dram of frankincense oil, a quarter dram of myrrh oil, and five ounces of your favorite talcum powder. Powder the herbs with a mortar and pestle before adding the oils and blending with a metal spoon. Add talcum powder to the combination and mix it thoroughly. Put the powder in a jar or other glass container. Take it to the altar and consecrate before use.

How to Be 'In the Zone'

6 Succulent Tips: How to Be In the Zone

Monday September 27, 2010
Categories: Balanced Life

Have you ever gotten so beautifully and intensely absorbed in an 'action' that time ceased to exist? You look up from the task at hand and two, three or more hours have mysteriously passed without your being aware of it?
Welcome to the State of Flow!
Flow is a mental state that emerges when a person is so fully involved and immersed in what he or she is doing that time ceases to exist and a feeling of energized focus flows.
A Rose by Any Other Name.
The state of Flow is also referred to by athletes as "being in the zone." Practitioners of Eastern religions have spoken about "being at one with things." Stock market operators describe the psychological state of flow on high volume trading days as being "in the pipe." Other names include "optimal experience," "feeling on a high," and "being totally focused."
The Flow Experience.
Flow is, in effect, a 'trance' state. And trance states are the very best states to be in to create, to see, to experience, to get lost in channeling the juices that will manifest your dreams into reality.
Flow is a space out of time and away from thought. To feel flow is to feel completely at one with what you are doing, to intuitively know that you are strong and, in this very special flow state, able to control your destiny. Flow is accompanied by feelings of great pleasure independent of the results.
One is IN Flow when one is truly IN the process.
Here are some tips for helping your flow trance state to show up a little more often as well as strengthening it!
Six Succulent Steps to Flow
1. No News is Good News
The creative part of you is more sensitive than you might realize. The negative stream that passes from the news desks across America to your heart and mind short circuits flow. Choose your news sources carefully. Avoid screaming anchors, short-sighted pundits, and anyone that promotes fear and intolerance.
2. Listen to Poetry
If you do enjoy having 'sound' on in the background, do listen to music. Music activates the same feel good part of the brain that food does. And for a real treat - try listening to poetry. (You can purchase great poetry on i-Tunes! Wow. What a world!!)
3. Creative Work Bench
Whatever your medium, be it collage, painting, writing, sewing, cooking, thinking great thoughts ... have your 'creative work bench' standing ready. Designate an entire room or even a corner of a room as your very own 'creative space' and keep your tools open and ready to go. When the urge hits, you can let it 'flow.'
4. Sacred and Spiritual Moments
Carve out time for creative acts and honor them. Keep those times sacred and separate! Do not stop to make phone calls or run an errand. Allow yourself to let go and fully give yourself to the activity, whether it is listening to music, reading a good book, writing poetry, or singing. Acknowledge the sacred and spiritual in these moments.
5. Aesthetics Matter
Nature is always (yes, always) awe-inspiring. If you can live in a beautiful place, do. And if you are city folk (as am I), a few houseplants on the windowsills does wonders. Every new leaf is a miracle.
6. Stand Ready for Creative Thought
When aHA moments happen, when creative thoughts bubble to the surface, write them down. We think we'll remember them, but more often than not, they disappear into the ether. So, be prepared. Pens, pencils, pads in every room, in every bag. Maybe a mini-recorder in the car!
What can you add to this list that can activate your inner-flow?
Spread the word ... NOT the icing!

* Pull the pin and count to what?
* Which wire was I supposed to cut?
* I wonder where the mother bear is.
* I've seen this done on TV.
* These are the good kind of mushrooms.
* I'll hold it and you light the fuse.
* Let it down slowly.
* Rat poison only kills rats.
* It's strong enough for both of us.
* This doesn't taste right.
* I can make this light before it changes.
* Nice doggie.
* I can do that with my eyes closed.
* I've done this before.
* Well, we've made it this far.
* That's odd.
* You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses on, would you?
* Don't be so superstitious.
* Now watch this.

Who Were the Witches?

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

The Witch Song

Who were the witches? Where did they come from?
Maybe your great, great, great grandma was one.
Witches were wise, wise women they say
And there's a little witch in every woman today.
Witches knew all about flowers and weeds,
How to use all their roots and their leaves and their seeds.
When people grew weary from hard workin' days,
They made 'em feel better in so many ways.
When women had babies the witches were there
To hold them and help them and give them care.
Witches knew stories of how life began.
Don't you wish you could be one? Well, maybe you can.
Some people thought that the witches were bad.
Some people were scared of the power they had.
But power to help and heal and to care
Isn't something to fear, it's a pleasure to share.

Court of Less Appeal--Humor

Court of Less Appeal

Justice isn't just blindâ€"it's snickering at these real courtroom give-and-takes:

Judge (to young witness): Do you know what would happen to you if you told a lie?
Witness: Yes. I would go to hell.
Judge: Is that all?
Witness: Isn't that enough?

Q: Isn't it a fact that you have been running around with another woman?
A: Yes, it is, but you can't prove it!

Q: Have you ever heard about taking the Fifth?
A: A fifth of wine?
Q: No, the Fifth Amendment.

Q: What did your sister die of?
A: You would have to ask her. I would be speculating if I told you.

Love Each Day,
Lady Nightshayde
