Invisible for a Day
October 4
Monday
Color of the day: Ivory
Incense of the day: Hyssop
Want to know how to cast a glamour for invisibility, or to have your actions go
unnoticed? As long as your actions are honorable, this spell works out well.
Therefore, if things are crazy at work or school and you need to lie low for a
day to let things settle down, this is a fine spell to keep you "under the
radar," as it were.
Today I'll conjure a little personal magical fog,
As I use the Moon's waning light to devise some camouflage.
So my actions may go unnoticed for a short time,
I seal this glamour up with the sound of a rhyme.
My vow to harm none with this clever Witches' spell.
This spell holds for just one day, and all will be well.
This spell will last twenty-four hours. No moping if you feel ignored! After
all, you are trying to be invisible.

Elder's Meditation of the Day October 4
"Search for the truth. Indian values teach the holistic approach to the use of
technology for mankind's good."
--Al Qoyawayma, HOPI
The Great Spirit had given us certain values to live by. If we learn to think
in harmony with these values such as; respect, love, patience, tolerance,
commitment, trust, etc., we cannot get off track. No matter what we do, we will
always be in harmony. For example, if we are respectful, then we will respect
the earth, our children, our women, our men, and ourselves. Indian values help
us walk under the guidance of the Great Spirit.
My Creator, today I search for the truth, Your truth. Please let me see it.

infections higher in the respiratory tract. It is highly effective
when used with Ravansara aromatica, against colds, flu and

4 Active Choices for Success & HappinessOct 04, 2010 02:30 am | Guest
by Kayla MacInnis
"Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action." ~Benjamin Disraeli
These last few
months I've been digging myself out of a hole, which ironically enough I
had put myself into. I spent so much time in the last two years
constantly being negative, and I could tell by the people surrounding me
that it had been enough.
People were starting
to leave my life; they were tiring of same repetitive mantra–and come
to think of it, I was tiring of it also. It was becoming more and more
exhausting to try and get people to tell me what was wrong with me and
what was going in on my head.
Why couldn't I be happy? Why couldn't I do the things that I wanted to do? Why wasn't I successful?
And then it came to me: the reason I wasn't happy, successful, or doing the things I wanted to do was that I wasn't doing a single thing about it. I was complaining to others, constantly searching for their approval, for some sort of life line. I thought that in order to make myself happy I had to please everyone else, but I was wrong.
I kept asking for advice
but I never accepted it. I shot every suggestion down. Until I finally
realized: it takes more effort and energy to be negative then it does to
be positive.
Here's my advice for you:
1. Cut all negative ties.
Easier said than
done right? Wrong. Whatever causes you stress, whatever requires so much
effort that it actually causes you strain, physically or mentally, cut
it out! You don't need it.
It could be anything
from the people in your life, to the things you do, or to the food you
eat. Anything that causes you stress isn't worth your time. Trust me.
Once I cut out all the negative people in my life, I had a clearer mindset which made it much easier to reach my goals and be happy.
2. "Do or do not, there is no try."
As cliché as it is to quote Star Wars, this is actually one of the truest things I've ever heard. You could word it however you want, but its proven fact.
I recently saw a film called An Education
directed by Danish writer Lone Scherig. In the film, there was this
quotation that really got to me: "Action is character. If we didn't do
anything, we wouldn't be anybody." And, it's true.
I didn't do anything
for the longest time. I kept making list after list, excuse after
excuse as to why I wasn't doing the things I wanted, couldn't
do the things I wanted, and wasn't the person I wanted to be. Finally
one day I looked in the mirror and saw the person I was becoming. I saw
the direction I was headed and didn't like it one bit.
That day I jumped
out of bed, put my best face on, and went out into the world to achieve
something that felt meaningful. I did that every single day until
finally I had a job, great friends, and a healthy lifestyle, and was
back in school.
Don't try
to do something because trying means that you might not actually do it;
but if you just get out and just start you will get it done.
3. Don't give up.
Many times I wanted
to give up. It was exhausting to get out of bed every day and push
myself harder than ever to be this person. Sometimes happiness takes a
little effort.
There were days when
I didn't want to get out of bed, but I pushed myself even harder on
those days. It's always the last mile that's the most exhausting; but if
you push harder, when you reach the finish line it's even more
rewarding! Your efforts might not seem to be paying off but they will.
Giving in is giving
up and giving up is choosing not to be happy. Put in the time and
effort. Give it your all. You can achieve anything you want to if you
only believe and then act on that belief.
4. Love yourself.
If you don't take
time for yourself all that pushing won't get you anywhere. Once I
realized how badly I was treating myself, I started to put extra effort
into looking out for me. I would buy myself new clothes or treat myself
to a new hairstyle; somedays I would even just go for a walk, breathe in
the fresh air, meditate, and try to learn something new.
The more time I gave
myself to sit and breathe and relax, the better I felt; and the better I
felt, the further I went. Take a small portion of each day to relax and
enjoy yourself and it will pay off.
–
It really is pretty simple to be happy if you keep
moving forward, figuring out what you need to do for you, and then
making the effort to do it.

The Lion
Courage Confidence
Command
Take a deep breath and invite the spirit of
the lion to fill you. Click here to Listen to the Lion's Song
When you walk, walk
like the lion. Be proud to be who you are, exactly as you
are. Hold your head high. Look each person in the eye and silently say to
yourself: I am the lion.
The
lion will fill you with courage, the courage to be who you are and show it to
the world. He will teach you how to roar out with your power, displaying your
talents and announcing your presence. He will teach you to have the courage to
be yourself, always and in all ways and to know the deep truth, that you are
exactly as you should be. After all, you are the lion.
The lion is power,
but power contained. He will teach you the strength of quiet command.
He will teach you to hold yourself with such presence that merely being around
you will fill others with respect and awe.
Know and be the quiet strength
of complete confidence. Speak calmly and with authority. Act from a
place of personal truth and wisdom, a wisdom that comes from the quiet times you
spend just being and feeling your deep connection with all that is.
Walk with grace and
strength. Hold your head high. And
once in a while, give out a resounding, magnificent roar. After all, you are
the lion.

Quado's Garden: Imagine Your Life without Fear or Doubt

Imagine Your Life without Fear or Doubt
Today, recognize
fear
in your life and send it away. Fear is a bully and if you face him down he has
no choice but to run. He will run before strength and action. He will run
before faith and perseverance. He will even run before patience.
Fear loves to hide under
various disguises. Sometimes he is called Tension or Anxiety. Worry is one of
his favorite names. Shyness is another. Apathy and Boredom are some very
secret names that he has.
If you are not living your
life full of action and engagement, embracing life with zest and vigor, then dig
a little deeper and see if fear is hiding in the corners of your life, along
with his sidekick doubt. Shine the bright lights of self-Love and faith on
them. And then act. Do what you fear, over and over, and fear will lose his
power over your life.
Imagine, just imagine, what
you might do with this precious life of yours if you had no fear and doubt!
Yes, this is the way to live. And you have it within your power to do so.

I got an idea. If there's somebody out to do harm, lets lock up our children in their rooms where somebody with a room broom can get at a large number of them at once!
Brilliant!
Write your school district and congratulate them on their brilliance!

Important: MRI Scheduled in the Morning
Posted by: "Ash" mhc4sure@yahoo.com mhc4sure
Mon Oct 4, 2010 11:36 am (PDT)
If there are no last minute hang-ups I am going tomorrow morning to have
an open MRI at 9am CST. A few of you already know the details of what
has been happening here and the reasons for this are a combination of an overdue examination as well as some potentially serious ramifications with other areas. I am keeping a positive outlook but would appreciate prayers and energies to make sure this goes off without a hitch today to stay on course for the morning plus that something is clearly discernable so that this can be specifically focused and worked on. For those who are not aware of the details and would like that please feel free to email me directly and will gladly do so in a private email. As soon as getting the results in I will give that to everyone who wishes to know. thank you all for your loving support during some very challenging periods. love to you all.

DailyOM: Culling Out the Weeds

DailyOM - Mind Over Matter
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
October 4, 2010
Culling Out the Weeds
Mind Over Matter
The power of the mind is a curious thing, because it is so powerful yet so
difficult to control sometimes.
The power of the mind is a curious thing, because it is so powerful yet so
difficult to control sometimes. We find ourselves thinking a certain way,
knowing that this thought may be creating trouble for us yet we find it
difficult to stop. For example, many people have the experience of getting sick
at the same time every year or every time they go on a plane. They may even be
aware that their beliefs impact their experiences, so continue to think they
will get sick and then they do.
Sometimes we need to get sick in order to process something or move something
through our bodies. But often we get sick, or feel exhausted, because we don't
make the effort to galvanize the power of our minds in the service of our
physical health, which is one of its most important functions. We really can use
it to communicate to our bodies, yet we often regard the two as separate
entities that have little to do with one another.
Knowing this, we have the power to create physical health and mental health,
simply by paying attention to the tapes running in our minds. Once we hear
ourselves, we have the option to let that tape keep running or to make a new
recording. We harness the power of the mind in our defense when we choose
supportive, healing words that foster good health and high spirits. All we need
to do is remember to tend the field of our mind with the attentive and loving
hand of a master gardener tending her flower beds, culling out the weeds so that
the blossoms may come to fruition.

What's Happening Today:
* Thesmophoria, Ancient Greece - Women's festival of Demeter. First day: The
Stenia. On first day, women gathered in the temple area. On second day there
was fasting, and they would return home for the night. The cult was practiced
universally in the Greek world, from the Black Sea to Lesbos, but the secrets
of the rites were so well kept that even today we know virtually nothing of
what the women did. The rites included married women, this being their only
opportunity all year to get away from their husbands and families. Grain was
burnt as an offering to Demeter. Piglets, sheep and goats were sacrificed.
After the Thesmophoria ended, the priests would gather up the large numbers of
female figurines that had been used in the rituals, and bury them.
* MANIA - On the second day of Mania, the Mundus, the passage to the
underworld, was believed to be open, allowing the passage of spirits up into
ourmiddle world, and the journeys of shamans down into the underworld and back.
It is a festival when departed ancestors are remembered.
* Fiesta de Aqua -In Peru, the first Sunday of October is the day when the
gates of the river Carhuayumac are opened. In the weeks before the festival,
the irrigation ditches are cleaned out and restored. On the day of the
festival, a procession of horsemen approaches the Cave near the river gate
where the Water God, Pariapunko resides. The Mayor enteres the cave and leaves
offerings for the God. Then the river gate is opened and a rocket is set up as
the water is released. The horsemen ride parallel to the water as it gushes
into the newly cleansed ditches, helping to lift it up and singing walinas.

Today's Goddess: Rainbow Snake Carnival of Flowers (Australia)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Oct 4, 2010 7:29 pm (PDT)
Today's Goddess: Rainbow Snake
Carnival of Flowers (Australia)
Themes: Beauty; Life; Joy; Fertility; Tradition; Children; Health
Symbols: Flowers; Rainbows; Rainwater; Pearls
About the Rainbow Snake: This Aborigine Goddess, also sometimes called
Julunggul, represents the fertile rains and the waters in the seas. According
to tradition, she flows into people's lives, bringing children, joy, the
knowledge of magical healing arts, and protection for sacred traditions.
To Do Today: The city of Queensland, Australia, blossoms around this time of
year in a colorful array of flowers. This carnival honors the joy of living,
something the Rainbow Snake embodies. If you have floral prints, definitely
wear them today to inspire the Rainbow Snake's ability to flow and adapt, using
beauty and happiness as a powerful coping mechanism.
If it rains today it is a sign of this goddess's blessing. Release your inner
child and dance in the downpour. Jump in puddles and let her fertile,
productive energy splash freely all over your life and everything around you.
To internalize a little of the Rainbow Snake's attributes, collect rainwater in
a clean pan on or around this date, then steep some edible flower petals (like
roses) in the water. Drink or cook with this today so her power can blossom in
your heart. )0(

Babylonian Liturgical Hymn
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Oct 4, 2010 7:30 pm (PDT)
She stands in the city, the sacred woman.
She stands on the city walls, the sacred woman.
She stands in the lapis doorway, the sacred woman.
She is the woman who dwells in the house of the prince.
She is the woman who makes her bed in the palace.
She is the woman who protects the city and its rich plains.
She looked upon the limbs of a man; she loved thus limbs.
She looked upon the hands of a man; she loved those hands.
She looked upon the feet of a man; she loved those feet.
~Babylonian Liturgical Hymn
Part of the ancient vision of the Goddess was as protector of cities and the
sustaining fields around them. She was not, in this role, always a matronly and
maternal goddess, but was frequently depicted as a lusty, loving, sensual
woman. The power she wielded did not make her any less sexually vibrant.
Indeed, her power was part of her erotic attraction.
The queens and Goddesses of myth and legend show us an image of both strength
and sensuousness. While today we often equate women's sexuality with weakness
and passivity, our forebears saw such goddesses as Ishtar (in the prayer above)
as especially passionate and sexual because of their power. Ishtar and her
sister Goddesses are potent images of feminine possibility - a possibility that
remains despite the 2,500 years that have passed since she was last
worshipped.

Subject: I Can Haz Life?
My friend Frank's family are losing their house to foreclosure, they've managed
to find somewhere else to live for now. What they can't figure out is what to
do with their 3 kitties who most likely will not be welcome wherever they rent:
The story is this, in a short time, barring a miracle, my family will be losing
our house. The people have found other places to live but our three cats can't
come with us. So I am hoping that someone on my friends list can maybe take
them in or maybe knows someone else who would want to.
I really don't want to take them to a shelter as two have already been through
that and would probably not get adopted again due to their age.
I would prefer to keep them together but I know that is probably not possible.
If I can find loving homes for them, together or separately, I'll be happy.
(Despite the pictures, they are all very friendly and loving. They just want
someone to rub them every now and then and a warm place to sleep at night.)
If you or someone you know are willing to rescue one of these adorable kitties
(Arthur [8], Lily [7], or Gerald [4]), let me know as soon as you can and I
will get you in touch with Frank. Frank is in North Jersey, but if you're a
little further away, we can probably still work something out. Let me know
soon if interested, otherwise he may be forced to put them in a shelter.
