Planetary Forecast

By The Astrologer, Kelli Fox

Today could be challenging. Yesterday's Plutonian vibes continue to pull your attention into the Underworld. And tomorrow, warrior Mars will square off with Pluto, energizing the darkness once again. Meanwhile, today's Moon in sensitive Cancer makes harsh angles to several planets. Feelings of crabbiness, frustration and impatience are possible. Situations from the past might resurface, pulling you into old emotional turmoil. You may not be able to get your needs met by others right now. Your best bet is to lay low, focus on nurturing yourself, and be as kind as possible to those around you. Processing your thoughts and feelings by writing in a journal could be helpful. Watch out for over-reaction, rash actions and a tendency to over-indulge in food or drink. It's a good day for getting rid of old belongings, and deep-cleaning your home could be a satisfying way to move the energy.

Daily Feng Shui Tip by Ellen Whitehurst for Sunday, April 10
Every once in a while I run across an energy associated with a specific day that truly resonates with me and reminds me of some of the remarkable holistic baby massaging tools that I've had the good fortune to learn along my way. In his early years my son would often experience a bad case of acid reflux that left him uncomfortable and agitated. One all-natural ways that I found could almost immediately calm him was a specific sort of Ayurvedic (Indian medicine) massage that would not only bring a smile back to his face, but also helped to heal that acidic agenda. First I would add twenty drops each of lavender and chamomile essential oils into a quarter cup of almond or jojoba oil. Then, positioning the baby on his belly (across my lap when he was small or in his crib as he grew) I would rub a bit of the oil on the palms of my hands and then stroke the bottom of his feet with firm pressure from the heel to the tops of the toes. I did this each night after his bath and right before bed when having him settled was so important. Massaging the baby in this way also bonded us so that to this day it remains a tender massaging memory.

This Week's Moonscopes Forecast

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Apr 10, 2011 2:22 pm (PDT)

This Week's Moonscopes Forecast
For the week of April 10 to April 16
(Missed last week's forecast? Here it is.)

Sunday,Monday(*v/c):the Moon is in Cancer
Taking care of yourself or providing carefor others may be on the agenda. Everyone needs some nurturing and support fromtime to time. Care-giving and nurturing are two of the things that fall underthe rulership of both the Moon & Cancer (one of the two signs the Moon ismost comfortable in), along with food, home, family, and emotions. With 5planets in Aries and therefore in a square aspect (a sharp 90-degree angle) tothe Moon, emotions might be the main target point right now since the Moon isnot very comfortable around that sign anyway.

Tuesday, Wednesday(v/c-late afternoon): the Moon is inLeo
Leo is all about taking care of yourself in another way - adornment. Not justfashion, but how much fashion, what kind of fashion, and what degree of fashion. If there is prominentLeo in your chart - for example moon sign, sun sign, rising sign, or a clusterof planets in this sign - you are likely very personally familiar with thephrase "if you've got it, flaunt it" and have done just that. Lusciousand dramatic are two words that can describe Leo fashion concepts. Of coursethis Leo stuff undoubtedly does not work for everyone, so refer to your birthchart for more ideas. (Don't have an astrology chart? Click here.)

Thursday, Friday(v/c-late afternoon): the Moon isin Virgo
Virgo likes for us to take care of ourselvesvia nutrition and other body-focused realms such as lotions, soaps, andsupplements. This sign urges us to seek out only the most pure products in allareas of things that relate to our bodies, including our personal environment(which is the cleanliness side of Virgo talking).

Saturday: the Moon is in Libra
When it comes to matters of the heart, this is thesign that owns that category. Love, love, and more love. Committed love of theromantic kind is what makes Libra happy. A happy love relationship makes Libraecstatic. With Saturn in this same sign right now, take some time to review (aSaturn word) your committed relationship. If that is not your current situation, then make a realistic (a Saturn word) list of what you are looking for.

Check your astrology chart to find which house (section of your chart) has the current Moon sign on the cusp (the beginning edge) & apply Forecast information to that area of your life aswell.
For example, the Moon is in Leo and one of the suggestions is to entertain - however Leo is located in the 12th house of your chart, which is an inward energy place...then have a small, quiet gathering. By contrast, if Leo is located in the 1st house of your chart, an outward energy place...have a party! Don't have an astrology chart? Click here .

It isinteresting to note when the current Moon is in the same sign as your birth Moon and to see how the flavor of that day carries through the following 30 days.

Current Planet Positions:
Sun - Aries, until Apr. 20
Mercury - Aries, until May16
(**retrograde Mar. 30-Apr. 23)
Venus - Pisces, untilApr. 21
Mars - Aries, until May 11
Jupiter - Aries, until June 5
Saturn - Libra,until Oct. 6, 2012
Uranus - Aries, until Mar. 6, 2019
(Taurus, May 16, 2018-Nov. 7, 2018)
Neptune - Aquarius, until Feb. 4, 2012
(Pisces, Apr. 5-Aug. 5, 2011)
Pluto - Capricorn, until Nov. 20, 2024

Current Asteroid Positions:
Ceres - Pisces, until Jan. 20, 2012
Pallas - Aquarius, until Feb. 13, 2012
Juno - Virgo, until July 28
Vesta - Aquarius,until Dec. 21
Chiron - Pisces, until Apr. 22, 2018

Current Asteroid Transits:
Ceres - Harvest the core basics of spiritual beliefs orphilosophies.
Pallas - A practical application of information is the best approach.
Juno - Stateclearly what is wanted in a personal partnership.
Vesta - Personaldesires are mixed together with personal responsibilities.
Chiron -Transcend wounds and negativity through compassion.

Note: Timeframes for Moon signs, void-of-course periods, and current planet & asteroid positions are noted for Eastern time zone (USA). Please adjust according to your own location. Times are not given if the void-of-course Moon occurs for a very short period or if it occurs during the night(based on same Eastern time zone).

* v/c = Void-of-Course - When the Moon is void-of-course, spend time working on projects already in progress, creative endeavors, or self-improvement. Void-of-course simply means that no planets are aspecting the Moon as it gets ready to changesigns. It's best not to start new projects, sign important agreements, or go shopping when the Moon is void-of-course because the result will probably be unsatisfactory in some way.

** Mercury Retrograde - the speed of the planet slows down considerably. Communications, paperwork, electronics, and traffic can become very mixed-up or delayed during this time. A situation will be in the process of changing, so wait until Mercury is direct to finalize anything. In general, maintain a slower, more cautious pace in daily affairs. Always allow at least two days before (to slow down) and after (to resume regularactivities) a Mercury retrograde period. Read More about Mercury Retrograde here

Finding Your true Name

Finding Your True Name

Adapted from The Cherokee Full Circle, by J.T. Garrett and Michael Tlanusta
Garrett (Inner Traditions, 2002)
.

One of the most powerful things a person can do is to rename themselves
(even if only privately) to reflect more of who they truly, deeply are.
Shakespeare's Juliet, when she thought about her Romeo, may have asked herself "What's in a name?, but there is great power in naming, especially since our given
names often do not reflect our true selves, and are not truly fitting for who
we are.
It can be very magical and empowering to discover your true name. Find out
how:
1. Give some thought to the following questions: How do you see yourself?
How would you describe yourself? How do other people see you? How would you
like to be seen? If you could rename yourself with any word or phrase that best
fits you as a person, what would it be?
2. Think of animals, objects, or anything in your familiar environment.
Focusing on these, generate a few ideas for names that might be a better fit for
you, and that makes you feel better about yourself.
3. Now think of personal characteristics or personal achievements or
experiences that have helped to define the person you are. What personal quality or
experience might you want to have reflected in your name?
4. After you have mulled over these questions, try closing your eyes and
relaxing into a deeply centered state. Ask your Deep Self for guidance, and see
if one or more of the words you thought of appears as your name.

7 Ways to Remove Negative Energy in the Home

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

7 Ways to Remove Negative Energy in the Home

We all can appreciate the beautiful healing energy of spending time in nature, away from civilization. But eventually we have to come home. When we compare the sense of peace and connectedness we feel in nature and to the stress and noise and bustle of city, we know internally that there is a difference. Part of the difference is the energy programmed into the physical objects of these places. Nature in general has more positive energy than our homes or cities.

Reasons Nature's Energy is Positive
• There are less people around in nature, so it is more isolated from people's thoughts. Thoughts are energy. Thought energy attaches to the physical objects near the origin of those thoughts. Negative thought energy creates stronger energy patterns and remains longer than positive thought energy. Worry, fear, and stress last longer than love, peace and happiness.

• Sunlight is a stream of positive energy that washes away any negative energy. It's like pouring cold pure mountain stream water onto a sponge. The sponge is rinsed of anything it has collected. When was the last time you were depressed after a day at the beach.

• Nature is usually filled with plants. Plants give off positive energy. They are alive so they put out a positive vibration, but they don't really think so they don't put out any negative thoughts the way people do. Plants don't' worry about jobs, or bills or relationships.

Before we can start filling our homes with positive energy, we need to remove any accumulation of negative energy.
So here is a list of seven simple proven techniques that you can use to remove negative energy from any space:

7 Ways to Remove Negative Energy

1. Salt carpets. This is the simple easiest best way. Simply sprinkle dry table salt on the carpet, wait an hour and then vacuum the up the salt. Use approximately 3 to 6 spoonfuls of salt for a medium size room. Salt crystals have an amazing natural built in-ability to erase the programming of energy. Using salt is like using an eraser on a chalk board. The information on the board is wiped away.

2.. Remove clutter. Things like old magazines and dirty clothes can trap a lot of negative energy in your house. Remove old items you no longer need. Keep coffee tables picked up and clean. Put your laundry in a laundry hamper. Wash your dirty dishes and put them away. Negative energy needs objects to hang on to so it can remain around.
By keeping your living space picked up, neat and clean,
3.. Loud noises. This is the reason the Chinese love fireworks. Loud noises break up energy patterns and allow them to disperse. Mother Nature does the same thing with the noise of thunder storms.

4.. Play spiritual music. My favorite is the album Eric Pepin album "Deep Resonating Aums" from the Higher Balance Institute. A close second is the song "God is Real" from Krishna Das on his "Door of Faith" album. Buddhist monks use tingshaws to dissipate unfavorable energy. You can use your stereo with the same effect. Combine this technique with no. 4 and a great pair of speakers for a really deep cleaning.

5..Meditate there. A proper meditation once or twice a day in your living space will broadcast out a powerful positive vibration. A broadcast from a meditative state of mind becomes much more powerful than it would otherwise be, making positive energy more powerful than negative energy. A proper meditation will saturate a space with uplifting energy for several hours.

6.. Rearrange the furniture. The Chinese practice the art of Feng shui. Again negative energy needs something to "cling to." Arrange your space with as much wide open space as possible, allowing any negative energy to disperse. But also the act of rearranging will cause this harmful energy to dissipate..
7.. Add living plants. Plants add color, life, oxygen and positive energy to your home. All good things to have. But only if you water and maintain them.

10 Commandments of Life

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Apr 10, 2011 2:31 pm (PDT)

10 Commandments of Life
A script for true fulfillment

Sometimes it's hard to do the best thing for our own good. After all, we're composed not just of body and mind - but spirit as well. Stress can get us down, and leave us feeling scattered. Yet if you feel disconnected and you aren't getting the most out of your day-to-day efforts, you're not alone.

For most people, finding lasting fulfillment is a lifelong battle. These ten tips can help you win over the outside turmoil and live a happier, more centered life!

1. Listen to your body
There's no "perfect" picture of health. Everyone is different. Get to know your body, and treat it well so that it runs optimally. For instance, if you're craving broccoli, eat it - you might need the iron. Likewise, if you're craving chocolate, you might have a little - dark chocolate in particular has health benefits when it is consumed in moderation.

Whenever your desires are mental, however, you'll want to recognize that. And if you feel "off," you'll want to get to your doctor. Our bodies manifest our states of mind and our emotions, so listen to yours. And if you need help from a doctor or health practitioner you'll find you're better off for having taken that step.

2. Sleep and fitness routine
Getting up - and going to bed - at the same time every day has proven benefits to your body. So does exercise. One popular study revealed that it takes three weeks to build a habit, but only two weeks to break one! Make a sleep-and-exercise routine plan and commit to sticking to it for one month. After that, you may find that your new activities have become habit, and you don't need to force them. This doesn't mean you have to hit the gym every day or approach someone else's idea of physical fitness - just get moving. Walk, run, ride your bike - or do yoga or pilates to increase your stamina and get your endorphins flowing. The method is entirely up to you! Whatever you choose, you'll feel fitter and better-rested - guaranteed.

3. Relax your mind, body and spirit
Meditation means different things to different people. So whether you proceed with a mantra (like in Transcendental Meditation) or try a guided relaxation CD, just carve out a little time for yourself to truly relax and be one with your surroundings. Mornings may be easiest - you may want to consider taking ten minutes first thing when you calculate your wake-up time. But any time will do - just be sure to spend it in solitude. Avoid the computer, television, phone, family or whatever else may distract you. This needs to be a sacred time to clear your mind. Your day will be brighter, and you'll find yourself feeling more centered when and if those stress levels increase.

4. Eat organic - or at least eat right
This doesn't mean you have to go on a diet and eliminate the things you love - remember that all things are good in moderation. Simply make an effort to buy foods that don't contain pesticides. Look for farm raised, untreated meat if you eat it. Include fruits and veggies in your diet, and go easy on the sugar. Choose whole grains instead of white flour. You don't have to get expensive about it, either. These days most grocery stores have affordable organic and/or healthy options. All of these are simple ways to treat your body like the temple that it is - and increase your energy!

5. Approach challenges as opportunities for growth
When something gets harder - at home, in the office, in a relationship - we have the tendency to see the glass as half-empty. But a simple shift in perspective can do wonders for your state of mind. The next time you encounter an obstacle you might want to pause, take a breath and consider what you stand to gain by overcoming it. Once you've done it once or twice, the challenges will seem less stressful - and you'll find that you increasingly feel capable of handling anything that comes your way!

6. Get organized
It's easy to let messes pile up. Whether it's paperwork or dirty clothes, most of us have fallen victim to disorganization at some point or another. And occasionally, these little tasks are bound to fall by the wayside. Does this mean you have to be immaculately neat all the time? No. But everyone stands to benefit from creating a method of organization. Do it one room at a time, making places for the things you need and discarding the things you don't - be brutal! You'll find that when messes pile up, it's a lot easier to clean up. When everything has its place, it's a lot harder to misplace things - including your calm and sanity!

7. Make time for friends
While it can be tough to find time in the day/week/month/year to do everything we want to do, social networks are an important part of feeling fulfilled. Think about it: part of the reason for pre-school is to get kids used to socializing - it's considered an important developmental skill. None of that changes as we grow older. Friends are important, and they offer a different kind of interaction than family members - or even people you're dating. Make it a point to have a "friend date" at least once a month, whether you rotate houses or simply go out - you'll walk away feeling needed and grateful for the people you've chosen to have in your life.

8. See the love around you
Love is an energy as much as it is an emotion. So when you're looking to "see" the love around you, it doesn't mean seeing couples. In fact, it doesn't need to be related to romance at all. If you become love, in the sense that your intentions are pure and you operate by doing what's good for your highest good (not necessarily having your way) - and you're kind to others, and appreciative of the fact that we all have strengths and weaknesses - you'll begin to feel what it is to experience love - by giving it. In turn, you will receive it from the world.

9. Commune with nature
Sounds a little frou-frou? It's not. Have you ever wondered why it is that when you go to the beach/forest/river you're overcome by a sense of peace and belonging? It's because you do belong. Osho (and a host of other spiritual writers, advisers and philosophers) suggest that if you get out into nature and feel yourself as a part of it, you'll experience benefits in your relationships with others - as well as the one you have with yourself. Understand that you are a part of the universal energy, and allow yourself to experience it. The ways in which you'll be enriched are countless.

10. Seek objective advice
Sometimes it's hard to see our own patterns. People go on for years and years making the same mistakes - and encountering the same situations over and over again - without stopping to think "maybe it's me." The universe presents you with the same lessons until you learn them. But if you're having trouble, it may be that you need someone else to help you see what you could be missing… and how you can change it. Remember, whether you know it now or not, we all create our own realities.

And why not make your reality a joyful, content one?

How Long Does it Take for a Magic Spell to Work

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Apr 10, 2011 2:32 pm (PDT)

Question: How Long Does it Take for a Magic Spell to Work?

I cast my first spell two nights ago, and I don't know if it worked or not. How long does this stuff take, anyway?
Answer:
Depending on who you ask, the answer is usually anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. In nearly all Wiccan and Pagan traditions, the general rule of thumb is that if you haven't seen something begin to manifest within four weeks -- one lunar cycle -- then you may need to revisit your working. In other traditions, particularly in Hoodoo and rootwork, a spell is designed to be worked over a specific period of time, and then results should appear within a designated amount of time after the working is complete.
Bear in mind that sometimes you get results that aren't what you were expecting, and in that case, you might need to evaluate the method you used to cast the spell in the first place.
A good idea is to keep a magical journal of some sort. Record what you did, when you did it, what the circumstances were, etc. Jot down everything that happens, so that you can look back later and see if it has begun to manifest.

Meditation to Meet the Wise Woman

Posted by: "Lady Nightshayde" LadyNightshayde9@aol.com   nightshayde99

Sun Apr 10, 2011 2:37 pm (PDT)

Meditation To Meet the Wise Woman

This meditation takes you to meet your plant guide or teacher who will
answer your questions, guide your study and suggest areas of work in your learning
about the plant world.

Allow yourself at least 20 minutes for this meditation. Go to a place where
you will not be disturbed, and unplug the phone. It is a good idea to
pre-record the meditation on a tape recorder and then play it back to yourself, or, if you are a group, elect one member to guide the rest.

Make yourself comfortable, lie or sit down, loosen tight clothing, be warm
enough as your body heat will drop after a while. Relax, take a few deep
breaths, with each out-breath feel yourself breathing out tension, relaxing down, down into the ground. Relax your feet.
Feel the muscles of the feet become heavy and let go of any tension there.
Relax the calves, breathe out any tensionin the calves. Relax the knees, feel them grow heavy. Relax the thighs, relax the buttocks. Feel the floor (or chair) support them, let go. Relax the genitals and the belly. Breathe away tension,
feel them become soft and empty. Relax the spine. Feel the tension draining
away. Allow your spine to become heavy, to sink into the floor. Relax your
abdomen, feel it become soft, breathe out any tension there. Relax your chest. Be aware of your breathing; with each breathing in breathe in light and with each out-breath breathe out tension. Relax your shoulders, let them go heavy and sink into the floor. Feel the weight glide off them. Relax your upper arms
and then your lower arms and hands, feel tension washing out of your arms,
through your fingers and into the floor. Relax your neck, relax your throat, feel them become soft. Relax your face, relax your jaw muscles, relax your eyes, feel them turn inward. Relax your scalp muscles . . .

Imagine you are walking in a wood. It is a bright summer's day; the sunlight
dapples through the trees overhead and there is a warm and balmy breeze. Be
aware of your surroundings. See the plants growing on the ground around you, notice the trees and any birds and animals nearby. Begin to walk, treading a well-worn path which leads you deeper and deeper in the forest . . . As you walk,
pay close attention to your surroundings, notice what is around you . . . As
you move deeper and deeper into the forest the trees begin to grow closer
and closer together; it becomes darker. Butyou are not afraid; this is a welcome darkness; you feel safe and protected . . .Suddenly you come across a clearing in the forest and in the center of the clearing is a hut. Make the choice to approach the hut, someone will come out to greet you . . . Allow her to take you inside, go with her where she takes you . . . Speak to her, ask her any questions you have . . .(Allow 10 to 15 minutes to hear what she has to say to you) . . . Then
realize it is time to leave, but be aware that you can return any time you wish.
Say goodbye now, and slowly walk back along the path until you reach the place you started at . . . Then gradually come back into the room. Open your eyes, re- orientate yourself and write down your experiences.Your plant teacher
will teach you about the physical uses of plants, their magical and
emotional properties, their plant lore and everyday uses. As you develop a
relationship with her you will also go on a journey deep into yourself.
