Thank you, Cher, I really appreciate your support !
I would like to express a deep, heartfelt thank you to the many amazing people from all walks of life that have been so kind to me and responded so favorably to my online readings.
Initially I was a little hesitant that I was doing the right thing by making my readings available online, but the response has been overwhemling. I am ever so grateful and actually amazed at all the positive feedback and emails showing me that this was indeed the right choice.
This winter has been so difficult for many people and travel has been impeded or, on some days, virtually impossible - it seemed that the idea of an online reading certainly had some merit. Even so, I had to give this service some serious thought before we launched it. I was very mindful that there might be an added layer of difficulty with only a name to go on. But, as it turns out, Spirit Guides and Guardians have been very forthcoming by allowing my guides to connect to the guides of the people ordering the readings.
My Way Of Giving Back - 50% Off the cost of an Online Reading with me, until the New Moon on March 4th
The popularity of online readings has grown incredibly over the last few months as, indeed, has the staggering amount of positive feedback. So much so that we will shortly be opening a testimonials page to help assure others that an online reading is a very real and valid source of information.
As folks read through all the ways the readings have helped people they too can feel comfortable ordering one.
As a gesture of heartfelt appreciation for all the positive encouragement I have received, I have decided for the next week, (up to the New Moon on March 4th) to take 50% off the price of an online reading.
Normally costing $60, if you order before the New Moon on March 4th,
You Can Get A Reading For Just $30
Click the picture for more information
And an especially Big Hug and Thank You! to all the folks that emailed or called me to say how much the information helped them. May this year be one of Bright Blessings and Joy.
With Gratitude - Lisa ~*

St Radegund of the Oats -A saintly sixth-century queen (she married Clotaire, King of the Merovingians, but fled from him after he murdered her brother), her worship replaced that of the earlier grain goddess. The legend goes that while she was fleeing from her husband, she passed a farmer sowing oats and asked him to tell anyone that followed that he had not seen a woman pass since he sowed the oats. In the next few hours, the oats grew so tall that Radegund could hide herself among them and when the farmer delivered his message to the King, he called off the search. (A similar story is told about St Mildburga (Feb 23), St Walburga (Feb 25) and the Virgin Mary.)
People brought oats as offerings to her on her feast day which was celebrated earlier in England, on February 11. St Radegund's other feast day is August 13, which further confirms her connection with a grain goddess, as this is the date of a great goddess festival, when Artemis, Hecate and later the Virgin Mary were asked to protect the grain as it stood in the fields awaiting harvest.

Out with the Shvod -Armenians roust the house guardians out of their lazy beds and into the fields for growing season duties on this day by banging on the walls with sticks and saying, "Out with the Shvod and in with the March."

Today's Goddess: LUONNOTAR Kalevala Day (Finland)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Feb 28, 2011 4:57 am (PST)
Today's Goddess: LUONNOTAR
Kalevala Day (Finland)
Themes: Creativity; Tradition; Fertility; Beginnings
Symbols: Egg; East Wind; Poetry
About Luonnotar: A Finno-Ugric creatrix, Luonnotar closes the month of
February with an abundance of creative, fertile energy. Her name means
"daughter of earth;' and according to legend she nurtured the cosmic
eggs from which the sun, moon, and stars developed. In the Kalevala,
Luonnotar is metaphorically represented as the refreshing east wind-the
wind of beginnings. She also created the first bard, Vainamolen.
To Do Today: The Kalevala is the epic poem of more than twenty thousand
verses that recounts the history and lore of the Finnish people.
Luonnotar appears in the creation stanzas, empowering the entire ballad
with her energy. If there's anything in your life that needs an
inventive approach or ingenious nudge, stand in an easterly wind today
and let Luonnotar's power restore your personal muse. If the wind
doesn't cooperate, stand instead in the breeze created by a fan facing
west!
To generate fertility or internalize a little extra
resourcefulness as a coping mechanism in any area of your life, make
eggs part of a meal today. Cook them sunny-side-up for a "sunny"
disposition, over easy to motivate easy transitions, or hard boiled to
strengthen your backbone!

Love Strengthening Spell
.
To strengthen your love with a partner on this Venus day, light a purple candle. Take an
amethyst crystal in your left hand and hold a photograph of your loved
one in your right hand. Focus on the flame, and see the two of you
standing inside it, protected from all outside influences. Slowly raise
your hands above the flame, up toward the ceiling. While holding the
crystal and photo, blow out the candle, knowing that the flame continues to protect the two of you.

Do not think of Vesta
as anything other than
fire, the living flame
which gives birth to nothing
but itself again.
Thus we call her virgin
for she is never seeded
not does she bear fruit.
And oh! she loves her maidens,
companions in virginity.
~Ovid, Fasti
To the ancient Romans, this was New Year's Eve. On this day, the sacred blaze burning in the temple of the fire goddess Vesta was allowed to go out. The rest of the year, a sorority called the Vestal Virgins, under the direction of the Virgo Vesalis Maximus, tended the fire carefully, for it represented the very essence of Rome. A night without that fire burning in the temple was a dangerous and powerful time.
There are such flameless nights in our live, times when we do not know if we can survive, when life's passion has dimmed and all seems dark and cold. In such times, we can only do what the Vestal Virgins did, generation after generation, in the Roman temple: we can wait, and watch, and pray. And hope, and trust in the great truth of nature: that change is inevitable, and even dark times must have their endings.

This is the day when dawn
receives our saffron cakes
in her sacred temple.
This is the day which honors
the bond between sisters
and the freedom of all women.
There is no slavery today at the threshold
of the temple. Today all women
are joined in the joys of motherhood:
for we hold up, not our own, but
our sister's children tothe sun.
~Ovid, Fasti
Today is the day that, in ancient Rome, was known as the Matronalia, the great spring feast of motherhood. On this day women attended rituals at the shrines of Mater Matuta, The Dawn Goddess, whom they greeted by holding up their small nieces and nephews to the rising sun. This is beautiful image of the joining of all the bonds between sisters into the circle of family, for women thus shared in the fruitfulness of their sisters' lives and symbolically took responsibility for all the children of the community.
Community does not bond us now as tightly as in ancient times. There is freedom in contemporary life, a freedom that few experienced in earlier times. But the price of that freedom is the loneliness that comes from being severed from connections with, and responsibility for, others. As spring moves forward, remember the joyous festivals of old, and reach out to friends and family to reaffirm the bonds of human love.

YOUR MOODS

YOUR MOODS
Even the candles go out when you walk by,
I think you intimidate the hell out of them.
It's easier to crouch in a corner when you are angry,
But some day your head is going to explode
And I don't want that messy fallout all over me!
I'm not sure if you take bad moods to a new low
Or to a new high, but for sure, they are sooo annoying.
Sometimes I dream of lobbing dinner dishes at you,
With all kinds of spaghetti and junk still on them.
Even my familiar slinks behind the chair
When you are in one of your moods;
(My spirit guides just make an excuse, and disappear).
Even our resident ghost doesn't start moaning
Until you've had about five whiskies and passed out.
I looked in the phone book today under "Hitman,"
But just couldn't find one that wasn't too expensive.
I guess I'll just have to do the job myself.
I looked in the yellow pages under "Poisons",
But it seemed like an awful lot of trouble...
After all, by now I am used to you.

Shielding Trigger
February 28
Monday
Color of the day: Ivory
Incense of the day: Clary sage
If youâre empathic, itâs very easy to feel drained and exhausted
after being in a crowd. However, with a little advance preparation, you
can protect yourself and your energy levels.
You need to put yourself into a meditative state for this to work.
(I use the method described in Laurie Cabotâs Power of the Witch.)
Now, begin building your shields, letting your intuition guide you
in choosing a form. Mine is a vortex of energy that absorbs stray
emotional energy not only from others, but also from me, so I donât
project my emotional state on anyone else either. Really focus on the
shield, making it as strong as you can. Finally, fix a gesture in your
mind as an automatic trigger for pulling those shields up. It could be
tugging on your earlobe, crossing your fingers in a special wayâ"anything small and not too obvious. Bring yourself out of the meditative state
and it is done. Next time youâre in a draining environment, just use
your trigger and invoke your shields. Keep in mind that this will get
better with practice.

Elder's Meditation of the Day February 28
"Ultimately, nature will do the teaching."
--Tom Porter, MOHAWK
There are things man has control over, and
there are things man does not have control
over. No matter how smart we get, whether it
be in technology or science, there are things
we will never control. The Great Spirit carefully
protected and hid the control over certain
things in the Unseen World. There are
forces in the Unseen World that make sure
humans don't mess things up. The bottom
line is, no matter what we do, nature will have
the last say. Nature is the teacher, we are the
students. May we honor and respect our
teacher.
Great Spirit,
today, help me
to live in
harmony with
people,
principles,
and life.

DailyOM: Employing Presence

DailyOM - Being Present At Work
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
February 28, 2011
Employing Presence
Being Present At Work
Bringing your presence into your work activities can fill the entire experience of working with new energy and life.
Being present at work begins before we even go to our place of employment. It starts with our intention to bring consciousness into everything we do, including those activities we do for money. Whether you are a secretary who files papers all day, a janitor who cleans the local high school, or a nurse caring for children, there is much to be gained by fully engaging in the tasks at hand. When you decide to bring your presence into your work activities, you may find that the entire experience of working is filled with new energy and life.
Sometimes we believe that when we step through the doors of our workplace, we cease being ourselves and start being someone elseâs employee. Though our employer may depend on us to perform certain tasks, the truth is that we never stop being ourselves. The commitment to being a conscious, empowered person of integrity doesnât stop and start with a time clock. Our decision to be present for our own lives is what weaves together all of our experiences from the moment we wake up, throughout our entire workday, and to the moment we turn off the lights at night.
Before leaving for work today, you can clear your energy and choose to step out with your best foot forward. Setting an intention in the morning can even help you stay present as your day unfolds. You might decide to find joy in every activity, complete all of your projects on time, or be truly helpful to your coworkers. By being fully present, you will begin to radiate and people may begin to notice; they may even want to follow your lead. Whether you run a company or hold a sign outside a deli, do it with pride and be the best you can be.

Dear Cher,
Can Spring possibly be coming soon enough? I don't think any of us can remember a Winter that's seemed as long and depressing as this one. One of my UPS drivers came in the other day and cracked me up. He told me he's been here (from Russia) 15 years now and cannot remember a Winter this bad. I laughed, and replied that I've been here more than 50 years and can't remember a Winter this bad! It was funny, but very true. Even as a kid I don't remember a season this bad. But Spring is coming, and we can see the signs all around us. The Sun's setting later in the day, and there are even buds on some of my trees at home. As I'm writing this, it even looks like an early Spring out my window. The Wheel turns and the Earth is bringing forth new life,
creating a time of real change.
Be sure and check out the listings to the right for the workshops scheduled with Judika Illes, Raven and Stephanie Grimassi, James Wanless (aka Mr. Tarot), and Christopher Penczak. I'm very excited about them! Please note that readings for Judika and Chris are already booking up and spaces are very limited, so if you're interested, don't delay. There's only three short weeks till Judika's Equinox/Ostara event and it'll be here sooner than you think, so pick up the phone and call the store now, before you forget, to book your seat.
If you're not already connected, please click on the link below to "like" us on Facebook. Of, if you click over to the website, there's a link there too. Classes and reminders get posted there first, before this newsletter goes out most of the time, so if you want to be the first on your block to know what's going on here, add us to your "likes."

Releasing Tensions
by Laurel Reufner
Life has a way of becoming hectic and our energies quickly become stressed and jumpy. To soothe the tensions in a stressed-out household, put a ceramic pan, with some water in it, on a back burner of your stove. Add in small handfuls of lavender, roses, and cedar. Toss in some cinnamon sticks. Add some bits of lemon peel. Allow the water to simmer for as long as needed, refreshing the ingredients as necessary (don't allow the water to boil out). Switch to orange peel and use this formula in the Autumn or Winter months.

People bring sacrifices and invite their ancestors to attend their feast with them. More: http://www.irminsul.org/arc/ 010sz.html
Rome: Feriae Marti, festival honoring Mars as God of Spring.
Rome: The sacred fire of the Temple of Vesta was rekindled by the Vestal Virgins on this day, which in ancient Roman days marked the beginning of the new year.
Greece and Rome: Matronalia was celebrated each year on or around this date in honor of Hera and Juno Lucina, protectors of women, children and the family. Statues of the Goddess were decorated with flowers, and special fires were lit. Girls made offerings to Juno Lucina at this time of year for happy and prosperous marriages.
Wales: David, Patron Saint of Wales, is honored. His emblematic plants, the leek and daffodil, represent the vigorous growth of springtime and recall the royal colors, green and white, of ancient Britain.

Goddess Of The Day: BONA DEA Matronella (Rome)
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:29 pm (PST)
Goddess Of The Day: BONA DEA
Matronella (Rome)
Themes: Femininity; Blessing; Fertility; Divination; Abundance
Symbols: Vines; Wine
About Bona Dea:Bona Dea's name literally means "good goddess." Her energies come into our lives at the outset of this month, offering all good things, especially fertility and a greater appreciation of the goddess within each of us.
Traditionally, Bona Dea is a women's Goddess who received offerings of wine in exchange for prophetic insights during her observances.
To Do Today: On March 1, February was escorted out of Rome with a flourish of adaptable activities. Exchange sweet gifts as the Romans did to ensure yourself of a sweeter future. Greet a friend with Bona Dea's name to invoke her blessings on them. Put up a grapevine wreath fashioned like a heart (or other symbol of something you need), and leave a glass of wine on your altar to honor Bona Dea's presence in your home and your life.
In Rome, female slaves would get this day off, and the head of the house would wait on them. In modern times this equates to switching roles for a day at home. Whoever normally gets up and fixes breakfast gets to sleep in, whoever normally does chores gets to go out and socialize, and so forth. Bona Dea appreciates the considerate gesture as much as you do and will rain her goodness upon your home.

Cure an Illness Spell

Cure an Illness Spell
The epic poem, Kalevala, is celebrated by the Finns this day with parades and readings from the poem. The Kalevala recounts a battle of wits between three wizard brothers and the witch goddess, Louhi. It is a treasure trove of ancient shamanistic practices including the following healing spell. For this ritual, stand in the east and call in the element of air. Ask in all humility for assistance. Light a blue candle and a stick of sandalwood incense as an offering to the element. Now say:
Sickness,
Vanish into the sky!
Pain, fly up into the air.
Burning vapor,
Rise up into the air!
So that the wind may take thee away.
So that the storm may chase thee to far places.
Where neither Sun nor Moon gives light.
Where no hot wind burns the flesh.
Thank the element of air, and let the candle burn down. As with all magic, in addition to this spell, it is essential that you have done everything possible in the physical realm to aid the healing.

Recipe for Good Health
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

Recipe for Good Health
After a long winter, March is a good time to work a spell that will renew your health. As folk wisdom says:
Eat leeks in March and garlic in May;
And all the year after physicians may play.
Peel three potatoes and place them on a green cloth on your kitchen table. Consider three things you can do to improve your health. Carve on each potato symbols or words regarding your intention. Make a potato leek soup with your magical potatoes. Decorate the table in colors of green and white and a bouquet of daffodils.
Leek Soup
4 cups sliced leeks
3 cups sliced potatoes
6 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
3 T. sherry
Chives
Combine potatoes, leeks and broth and cook for 20 minutes. Liquefy in a blender. Add cream, sherry, and chives and cook an additional 5 minutes without boiling, stirring constantly.

sure-Footing Spell
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:34 pm (PST)
sure-Footing Spell
Toward the end of winter, there is ice everywhere, as snow falls and melts and refreezes. This spell helps you get a grip on things. Goats are famous for their sure footing; they jump around on mountains and never seem to fall. So begin by finding a goat symbolâ"a picture, small statuette, piece of goat horn or hair, whatever works for you. Place the symbol on your altar, and light a brown candle. Then invoke Pan:
Goat-footed god,
Lend me your balance
And your certainty.
Let me dance through my days
As gracefully as you dance
Down the mountain paths.
Keep my feet light
And my step sure.
So mote it be!
Let the candle burn itself out. Keep the goat symbol and any remaining candle wax on your altar until the last ice of winter is gone for good.
