my parents don't want me to be a witch. and they are catholic. but they don't
know how to be kind. they don't know how to just talk to me. anything simple.
that shows love. and it hurts. to be so isolated from them. and today i had a
fight with them. because of what my sister said. i told my mother what my sister
had told me and many people. that she was going to get away from this house. and
move out at 18. i ask for healing. i am so upset. i cried for a long time. and
even when i cried my father wouldn't stop yelling at me. people who aren't
witches don't really know how to act. atleast that's what i believe. and i am
wishing right now. for peace. my parents upset me. and i think i just saw the
future. people ask me what i did wrong. i didn't do anything. my mom told me to
clean the table. while i was cleaning my dad started to yell at me about how
lazy i am. that i can't even clean the damn living room. and i don't even wash
the damn dishes. he said i was lazy. and i was stupid. that i should have known
the paint wouldn't come off the table because it's paint. and i cried. because i
had a bad experience with yelling as a fourth grader. and when i finished
cleaning the table. i wanted to leave. my dad said to get back there. so i did.
and he said why are you leaving i said because i'm angry and upset. he said
someone who is angry should use their energy in work. that i will clean the
living room. and i said no. i asked why he was so angry with me. and we just
yelled back and fourth. he said he hated taking care of me. i said it's not my
fault i'm sick it's yours because you had me it's your fault i suffer. and he
said something about haveing to hit me for me to want to cry for a reason. and i
said you don't do that in america. he said you do that all over the world. and i
said in america you call the police and you go to court for it. he said send me
to court. i said if you do you'll go to jail. and he said send me to jail. that
way i won't have to support you. then see what you do from there on. you'll have
to work. see who takes care of you then. i said i'd atleast die happy. i don't
need to be supported because i could just die. [i'm suicidal sometimes because
i'm depressed] and he said if i died he'd pull my feet to make me come back to
him. and he'd put me to work in the after life. and then we sort of laughed. but
i'm still shaken up about it. even an hour after it happened.

Greetings Karla,
   Thought I would toss my .02 in on this one since it is one I have gotten
asked more times then I care to count. I have 3 answers that i almost always
give for this one, a short answer, a longer one and then the REALLY LONG one. I
will forgo the last for the sake of time and the fact that I am not talking to
you in person.
  Short answer is yes you should tolerate both the Bible and it's adherents.
  The second answer to that question is again yes, but with reasons. Lets
start out with one of the historical reasons shall we? The Bible is NOT the
literal, unaltered word of God. Over the last 1900 years it has been
mistranslated, edited (for both political as well as other reasons), added to
and just plain abused by those who have worked on it. Who is the biggest culprit
in the deliberate mistranslation of the Bible? Why that pillar of the church
King James ( yes that King James). As a child his nurse used to tell him
horrific tales of witches in an effort to make him behave ( punishing his
Whipping Boy did little good in this area). As you can guess this caused him to
develop a "slight" fear of witches. After he became king, James felt
"inspired"Â to write a version of the Bible that the common man would be able
to read for himself. All well and good you might think. However since he was
doing this service for the good of God and Man, he also felt that it was his
right to impose his world view on the Bible, both to further his own agenda and
for the good of mankind. In one letter to his scribes James instructs them to
change the word poisoner to the word witch. This is just one of hundreds of
alterations that he had made to "his" bible. There are literally hundreds of
letters in the Royal Library, The Oxford Library and others containing his
"editorial comments".
   Another very good reason to show tolerance has a very current example.
Can you think of anything going in in the US right now that is a clear example
of what religious intolerance breeds? Do you personally want to add to that
atmosphere? What good comes from ANY form of intolerance? Yes I have my personal
prejudices, the biggest being against stupidity. Unlike ignorance ( which lets
face it is something that the majority suffers from to a greater or lesser
degree, esp if they are getting their news from the boob tube ), stupidity is a
choice that people make and is thus rather hard to "cure". My point here is that
intolerance gains us nothing and causes us harm in the bargain. Thus intolerance
is in DIRECT opposition to the Reed.
  I could go on with tons more examples and reasons but the Goddess Caffeana
is calling me to worship at her alter. Hope this helps some and if you have
