Thursday, Oct 7th, 2010 -- We are motivated by fairness to bring peace to our
relationships and help others feel at ease. The diplomatic Libra New Moon at
2:44 pm EDT graces us with objectivity. But the Moon conjuncts serious Saturn,
tempting us to take on more responsibility than we can actually handle. What
starts out with good intentions can become difficult and foment resentment if
an authority figure tries heavy-handed tactics to coerce us into being more
productive.

Quado's Garden: Be An Angel Today

Be an
Angel Today
Today,
be
an angel in someone else's life. This can be the simplest thing, the smallest
gesture, to a friend but also to a stranger.
Today, as you go through
your life, look around and see if there is some small thing you might do for
someone else, some gift you can give them. Look for the opportunity to say
something nice, to listen attentively, to make a loving gesture. Look for ways
to brighten a life. Look for ways to ease a heavy burden.
Spend the day continuously
making the world a better place and you will find your own burdens will lift
immeasurably. The smiles of gratitude, the look of surprise from a grateful
stranger, these things will lift you up and out of your own concerns.
Realize your power to bring
joy and gladness to others. Realize the power of a simple act of love and
compassion. Be an angel.

As always when I make these type posts .. I have a few messages from
Spirit .. not sure who they are for ... all I can do relay the message
given to me and have faith that they will reach their intended target.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Watch where you are walking ... be careful of the steps you take right
now... there could be some hidden obstacles.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You are looking in the wrong place... what you seek is not outside of
you ...
You already know this.. so stop looking outside
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It feels like there is something you are suppose to be doing... because
you are .... what are you waiting for.. take the bull by the horns and
get busy..
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It doesn't matter if anyone else cares about what you are doing or why
... it only matters that you care ... stop questioning your reason and
just do it anyway. You are on the right path.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You have been given the signs... you hear the voice telling you what to
do ... so stop ignoring it!!!!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yellow... paint it yellow
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Look up the properties of the image you see and you will understand
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
its in the song you sing
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
if you don't care ... who will? Stop pretending you don't

Daily Devotions of the Goddess
Listen my dear children,
To the rising of the winds.
Summer now breathes it last,
In colors that stir and blend.
The Goddess adorns herself,
Within the Autumn leaves.
To call our spirits to the dance,
Upon this Octobers eve!

well good news is that everything checks out fine with the MRI of the brain. one area is staying as it was before and nothing else appearing. as far as what is causing the issues it is felt the strong suspect is somewhere along the neck blood is not getting to the brain and have a couple of tests to be done ASAP plus will get a monitor to wear however long the insurance will pay for it. naturally will go into more details in personal emails with anyone who wishes to know but wanted to let you all know exactly what is happening and do appreciate all of the energies, candles lit, and prayers with love sent to me. they and all of you mean more than I can express. my love to you all

Chinnamasta Hindu Goddess
Posted by: "kalimir" jai_ma_kali@yahoo.com jai_ma_kali

CHINNAMASTA
The wrathful and yet giving goddess
Chinnamasta aka Chhinnamasta is the 6th Mahavidya. She is very explicit as she is seen with a severed head. But there are explanations for the
reasons why she severs her own head. I shall discuss the reasons for
her selfless sacrifice for the benefit of others. But I would like to
give you a description on how she looks, so that you may understand her
more. She stands in an aggressive manner with her leg put forward. She
is holding her own severed head in one hand and a sword in the other.
She is naked and happily drinks the blood that gushes from her headless
body. She has three eyes and is adorned with a blue lotus at her
heart. One should meditate on Chinnamasta, who has the complexion of a
red hibiscus flower. She stands on Kama and Rati, who are joined in
sexual intercourse. To her right is Varini who is Satva guna, who is
white in color with loose hair, and holds a sword and a skull cup. She
happily drinks the blood gushing from the devi's severed neck. On her
left is Dakini, who also drinks blood flowing from Chinnamasta's
headless body. She is possessed by Tamas guna and enjoys the world in
its state of dissolution. One should meditate on this Chinnamasta
who bestows blessings on her devotees.
From the Dyana Mantra ofChinnamasta:
" I meditate upon the Goddess Chinnamasta who is seated in
the center of the Sun's disk and holds in her left hand her own severed
head with gaping mouth, her hair is dishevelled and she is drinking the
stream of blood gushing out from her own neck. She is seated on Rati
and Kamadeva who are engaged in sexual dalliance, and she is rejoicing
with her friends Dakini and Varnini."
This is from Mahidhara Mantra Mahodadhih.
Lets look at this description, it corresponds to the Qabalah. There are 3 worlds in the Hindu mythology and 4 worlds in the Qabalah one world belongs to the Divine. There are 3 pillars of the Tree. The Pillar of Mercy, The Pillar of Mildness and the Pillar of severity. The black pillar is the pillar of severity that would be the black Dakini and the Pillar of Mercy is white, white like the white
Varini and Chinnamasta represents the Pillar of Mildness. She is in
this description in the sphere of Beauty or Gareth. Here she represents
the sun. She does the self sacrifice so that she can nurture Dakini and
Varini who are her friends and herself as well as the 3 worlds and
everything in it. She slices off her head so that others may drink her
blood, the Eucharist that is full of nourishment. Blood is life; blood
is also a symbol of death. Rati and Kama represent sex. This affirms
that the universe is life, sex and death. Life feeds on life. Sex is
the creation of life so that life may die and feed other life. Also it
shows that as the sun, she keeps all in balance and fed with energy.
Without the sun we would all be doomed and the planets would not be
held in their proper positions. The sun sacrifices energy and continues
to make more energy. Also like the sun it can destroy the whole
solar system when it expands or goes into a supernova. Chinnamasta along with her beneficial qualities she is identified with Prachanda Chandika,
this is considered the most wrathful aspect of the Goddess Chandi. This
is another form of Kali. Chandi is also another form of Durga to many
Hindus.Though Chinnamasta gives blood she is given blood sacrifices
but like other wrathful deities she does not demand such a
sacrifice. Chinnamasta has the body of a 16 year old girl. She is
sometimes seen wearing a necklace of skulls or freshly severed heads.
She is also seen on top of Krishna and Rhada or sometimes she is on top
of Shiva. She is not on top of Shiva to dominate him but to give Shiva
life. The headless state is desired in many traditions. The in the body
for life is an illusion. You don't see your head without a mirror and
the head represents identity and ego as well. To loose one head or to
break open the skull metaphorically is to realize that the "I" is not
the whole truth. Chinnamasta helps us realize our Divine selves. There
is another story on Chinnamasta. When the ocean of nectar of
immortality had been churned the gods had their portion but now it was
the demons turn so she drank their portion and sliced her own head off
so that the demons could not get their fill. Here again we see self
sacrifice for the betterment of others. In another story the
Goddess went on a rampage after destroying the demons. She was so
uncontrollable in her rage and being drunk on the blood of demons that
she was swinging her sword in all directions, she finally sliced her
own head off in a fit of rage. Here we see that her rage can be so
uncontrollable that she destroys everything in her way and is also
capable of self destruction. Chinnamasta's horrifying appearance also
shocks the devotee into seeing the darker side of reality, death, blood
and sacrifice. The spiritual life is not all about flowers, peace and
sweetness. It is also about death, toil and sacrifice. Chinnamasta is also a
goddess of war, she was and still is called upon by warriors so that they may be successful in the battlefield and so that she may appear on the battlefield to distract the enemy; moreover, Chinnamasta does enjoy the
death toll as well as also representing the conquering of lust and passion.
This is also needed in a warrior so that she/he is not distracted by
sexual urges so that the focus is on what must be done. That is another
reason she stands on top of Rati and Kama yet at the same time their
energy actually feeds her!
Now lets look at the fact that there are 3 jets of blood. The jet stream of
blood shooting upwards and going into the severed head of the goddess
is called Shushuma, this is the nadi of pure spirit. The jet stream of
blood that Dakini is drinking is the Ida Nadi (lunar nadi) and the jet
stream of blood that Varini is drinking is the Pingala nadi (Solar
nadi) Chinnamasta was and still is called Chinnamunda. Chinnamunda's
appeared in the teachings of a Buddhist devotee which is at least a
century before she appeared as Chinnasmata in the Hindu tradition. From
my research of Her she has a bigger following among some Buddhist
tantrics than she does in the Hindu religion. Why you ask? Maybe its
because she has a huge list of fierce and terrible names. She is
Prachanda Chandika or the fiercest form of Kali Ma. Also she has many
let's say inauspicious names. Inauspicious to man's way of thought. Lets
just say she's the type of goddess that would crack your skull open if
it pleased her and play with the rest of your corpse. It would seem
that only the heroic or those who have renounced the world seem to come
to her, but as with everything this is probably not 100 percent. She
does not have a widespread worship in India and very few temples as
well. These are just a few of her fierce names from her hundred name
hymn. Name # 1 Prachanda Chandika (powerfully fierce one) Name
#3Chaddevyavinashini (indestructable fierce goddess). Name #6 Capala
(electrifying one). Name #8 Maha Chanda Great fierce one. Name #21
Bhayadhya (possessing fear). Name # 47 Sarvavidravinipara (supreme one
for defeating). name #204 Ghorakarmapravarddhini ( who increses fierce
actions.. Name # 206 Ghoravetalanashini (who kills the fierce
vampires). name #406 Tara, Name # 590 Nagamata (mother of the Nagas;
snakes) name 181 Ghorarupa (frightful in appearenc), name #193 Ghora
(fierce) name #192 GhoraCahndalini (fierce Chandalini), name
#180Gharghara (roaring one),name 198 Ghorakarmanishevita (worshipped by
fierce doers), name # 236 Chandika (the fierce one) There are more
fierce epithets as well as calm ones than that but as you can see here
she is also fierce and destructive.
Chinnamasta is also the goddess of Kundalini but unlike Bhairavi where the
Kundalini raises from the root chackra the Kundalini here rises from the
Ajana Cakra or the 3rd eye to the crown chakra or the Sahasra chakra.
Chinnamasta resides in the 3rd eye the Ajna chakra. There are those
Tantric yogis/yogini which only concentrate on the Ajna and Sahasra
Chakra as they see the rest of the chakra a distraction since these are
what they say the "pure Chakras" here they raise the Kindling from the
3rd eye instead of the root Chara. This takes a lot of practice to do.
The
chopping off the head (please don't chop off your head) symbolizes the
ego being sliced off. When you think about it the ego is still there
but not in control and not in the way. The mind is free and is able to
soar to the Divine for a lack of a better description. Chinnamasta is
that power the "no mind" or the "silencing of the mind" all illusions
have been cut, and the Kundalini is free flowing. A good way to
Meditate on Chinnamasta is to withdraw one's attention from the objects
seen. Go beyond that. No what "I" want. No "me" just silence. That's
just one way. Another way pretend you are Chinnamasta but don't
actually slice off your head. Ganapati is the modern day seer of
Pranchanda Chandi, he experienced the "breaking open of his skull"
After this event it was said by his disciples and other Yogis that
there was a column of light or vapor coming from his head.
Chinnamasta's mantra is a mantra of 15 syllables
Om Shrim Hrim Hrim Vajra-vairocaniyai hum hum phat, svaha!
Om is the Divine letter and sound (more on that later)
Shrim is a mantra of beauty and light. This immediately says that
Chainnamata's act is beautiful and she is beautiful. Hrim this is the
mantra of inner metamorphosis. Vajra-vairocaniyai is the lightning of
spiritual realization (the slicing off of the head. Also in Buddhist
tantric belief she is also called Vajra Yogini. Hum is a wrathful
mantra, it wards off all negativity. It destroys the obstacles in the
way of spirituality and lights the flame of inner spiritual knowledge.
Hum is the power to slice through illusions. it is a mantra of wrath
and power. Phat serves to concentrate the force of the mantra or
prayer. Svaha is to consecrate the mantra to the Divine and to your
inner spiritual fire. Svaha is also the wife of Agni Lord of fire.
Hum can be used by itself as Chinnamasta is a wrathful deity. Hum can be her 1 syllable mantra.
Chinnamasta
can be used to control an enemy and to have power over the foe. She can
also be used to destroy ones enemy. She gives poetic speech, protection
and well-being, kundalini, yoga, getting rid of false pride and false
ego, perfection and liberation, the ability to attract others
especially women, the ability to influence kings, queens and
politicians, success in war, to gain occult powers. She is of course
more than just this.
This is enough about Chinnamasta the 6th Mahavidya.
Chinnamasta is seen as white, red or
black these are the colors of the 3 worlds in the Hindu religion. This
shows her power and influences of the three worlds.
Please feel free to mail this any any
mil that I sent to the groups about any of the Mahavidyas to anyone you
want as long as my name remains on the post.

Draconid Meteor Shower
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411
Thu Oct 7, 2010 7:08 pm (PDT)
Space Weather News for Oct. 8, 2010
http://spaceweather.com
DRACONID METEORS: Every year around Oct. 8th, Earth passes through a minefield
of dusty debris from Comet Giacobini-Zinner, source of the annual Draconid
meteor shower. This year, forecasters expect Earth to narrowly miss several of
the debris streams, resulting in no appreciable display for 2010. Next year,
however, could be different. On Oct. 8, 2011, Earth will have a nearly head-on
collision with a tendril of dust, setting off a strong outburst of as many as
750 meteors per hour. One year from now, sky watchers could see the strongest
meteor shower since the Leonid storms a decade ago. Mark your calendar and,
meanwhile, follow the links at http://spaceweather.com for more information.
COMET HARTLEY 2 UPDATE: Comet 103P/Hartley 2 continues to approach Earth for an
11-million-mile close encounter on Oct. 20th. It is not yet visible to the
unaided eye, but amateur astronomers are finding it easily using backyard
telescopes. The comet's vivid green atmosphere now subtends an angle equal to
some of the biggest craters and seas on the Moon. Visit http://spaceweather.com
for sky maps and latest images.

With Junie Moon Schreiber
Shadow Work® is a personal growth process which brings your hidden powers out of
the shadow and into the light. We all have these hidden powers within us. But we
don't always allow ourselves to use them. We have all been hurt, and we have
learned to hide parts of ourselves so we don't get hurt again.
Shadow Work® is a way to explore the inner landscape and discover the gold that
is hiding in the shadows. It is a way to become more and more who we really are.
Shadow Work® is a way to face the hurt, the fear, the anger, and learn how to
live more fully. Most of all, it is a way to love ourselves for the journeys we
have chosen.
Shadow Work® offers us the opportunity to work with our shadows and to reclaim
gifts and talents that have been unconsciously disowned. Accessing our inner
archetypal strengths, we learn how to:
*Increase ability to make powerful choices; feel appreciated for who you are
(Sovereign)
*Develop new solutions for old problems; understand persistent patterns
(Magician)
*Deepen your capacity for intimacy; activate your creative talents (Lover)
*Improve your ability to set boundaries and deal with money (Warrior)

DailyOM - Community Responsibility
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:
October 7, 2010
Offering Our Gifts
Community Responsibility
Giving to our community and creating with our community is often overlooked, but
brings so much joy.
It's easy to get caught up in our personal lives and forget that we have an
obligation to be responsible members of our communities. For some of us,
expressing this responsibility is so interwoven into our personal lives that it
is simply a natural extension of who we are. Others may need to take a moment to
consider how to be more responsible for the communities in which we live. For
those of us who live in large cities, we can start with our neighborhoods.
Anything we do on a small level will automatically ripple out into the larger
system.
Communities thrive on the talents of their members, so one approach to community
responsibility is to consider what you have to offer and find ways to bring that
into your community. If you have a special gift when it comes to bringing people
together, you might agree to throw a party or event once a year that includes
the whole community. Even a small open house in an apartment building can
accomplish a lot in terms of making people feel more connected and comfortable
with each other. If you have a talent for organic gardening, you might offer to
help people in your neighborhood plan their own organic gardens. You might be
the go to person for neighbors who need someone to water their plants or care
for their pets when they're away. You might take an abandoned space in your
community and galvanize others to help you transform it into a community garden
or a playground for children. In an area where there are many homeless people,
starting a soup kitchen or organizing a holi! day meal makes a big difference
not only to those in need but to those who want to help.
All holiday parades, picnics, and ceremonies started somewhere, with someone who
wanted to give back to the community in which they lived. It's not too late to
propose and execute a new tradition in your own community, whether it's a block
party or an annual picnic. Your particular vision, gifts, and strengths are part
of what makes your community unique, so as you recognize them in yourself, feel
free to offer them to those who live in your vicinity. Whether your offerings
are visionary or practical, they are the very essence of community.

How To Make a Soul Cake for Samhain
Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM chic0411

How To Make a Soul Cake for Samhain
By Patti Wigington, About.com Guide
Soul cakes were traditionally baked as a gift for the spirits of the dead. In
many European countries, the idea of "Souling" became an acceptable alternative
for Christians. The cakes took many different names and shapes -- in some
areas, they were simple shortbread, and in others they were baked as
fruit-filled tarts. Still other regions made them of rice flour. Generally, a
soul cake was made with whatever grain the community had available. You can
make your own with one of these four simple recipes.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 hour
Here's How:
1. Pie Crust Soul Cakes
You'll need:
* A refrigerated roll-out pie crust
* 2 Tbs. melted butter
* 1 C mixed dried fruit
* 2 Tbs honey
Roll out the pie crust and cut it into circles. Use the circles to line a tin
of muffin cups. Mix the butter, fruit and honey together. Scoop the fruit
mixture into the pastry shells, and then bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
Allow to cool for about ten minutes before eating.
2. Quickie Shortbread Soul Cakes
You'll need:
* 1 stick of butter, softened
* 4 Tbs sugar
* 1 1/2 C flour
Cream together the butter and sugar. Use a flour sifter to add the flour to the
bowl, and mix until it's smooth. Divide the dough into two parts, and shape
each half into a flat circle about half an inch thick. Put them on an ungreased
baking sheet (baking stones are really nice for this) and poke lines with the
tines of a fork, making eight separate wedges in each cake. Bake for 25 minutes
or until light brown at 350 degrees.
3. Buttery Soul Cakes
You'll need:
* Two sticks butter, softened
* 3 1/2 C flour, sifted
* 1 C sugar
* 1/2 tsp. nutmeg & saffron
* 1 tsp each cinnamon & allspice
* 2 eggs
* 2 tsp malt vinegar
* Powdered sugar
Cut the butter into the flour with a large fork. Mix in the sugar, nutmeg,
saffron, cinammon and allspice. Lightly beat eggs, and add to flour mixture.
Add malt vinegar. Mix until you have a stiff dough. Knead for a while, then
roll out until 1/4" thick. Use a floured glass to cut out 3" circles. Place on
greased baking sheet and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered
sugar while the cakes are still warm.
4. Irish Cakes
You'll need:
* 4 C flour
* 1 pkt active dry yeast
* 1 C milk
* 2 Tbs butter
* 1/2 tsp each cinnamon & salt
* 3/4 C sugar
* 1/2 C lemon zest
* 1 1/4 C golden raisins
Cream yeast with 1 tsp sugar & 1 tsp milk, let it get frothy. Blend flour,
spices, & salt together, then cut in butter. Add the rest of the sugar to the
flour mix and blend. Add milk & beaten egg onto the yeast mixture; combine with
flour mixture. Beat until stiff.
Fold in raisins and zest, cover with a damp cloth and let rise. Divide in two,
place each half in greased 7" round pan. Cover, let rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake 1 hour at 400 degrees.

Get Ready for Samhain!
Day 1: The History of Samhain
From Patti Wigington, your Guide to Paganism / Wicca
Welcome to our Get Ready for Samhain e-course! We'll be spending the next seven
days talking about all the great ways you can celebrate Samhain as a Pagan or
Wiccan. To get started, let's talk a little bit about what exactly Samhain is,
why it's celebrated, and what it means to contemporary Pagans.
The History of Samhain
Samhain is celebrated October 31, the same night as Halloween. However, this
Sabbat has roots that go back thousands of years to the time of the Celts.
Later, it evolved into a Catholic mass, and finally became known as the witch's
New Year. Learn about how Samhain developed into the magical celebration we have
today.
When is Samhain 2009?
If you're not sure what day to celebrate, here's where you'll find information
on dates for Samhain. Want to get started planning for next year's Sabbat? Be
sure to check out the dates for Samhain 2010 as well! When is Samhain 2009?
Decorating Your Samhain Altar
Samhain is the time of year when many Pagans and Wiccans celebrate the cycle of
life and death. This Sabbat is about the the end of the harvest, the calling of
the spirits, and the changing aspects of the god and goddess. Try some or even
all of these ideas -- obviously, space may be a limiting factor for some, but
use what calls to you most. Here are soem tips on how to decorate your Samhain
altar.
Samhain Altar Photo Gallery
Samhain is known as the witch's new year, and it's a time when the veil between
our world and the next is at its thinnest. It's a season of death and dying and
darkness, and hearkens the coming of winter's chill. No matter how you celebrate
this Sabbat, chances are good that you've decorated your altar to reflect your
views of the season. Check out some of our reader-submitted photos of Samhain
altars, and if you like, send yours in to share! Samhain Altar Photos
Tomorrow: The Spirit World
At Samhain, the veil between our world and the next is at its thinnest... we'll
look at how to hold a seance, hosting the Dumb Supper, dealing with spirit
guides, and we'll have a special commentary on death and dying from a well-known
guest author!
