Got a delema, I think I planted my plants to close together, grrrrr, how far
apart would you do your gardens and what do you do if you did plant to close,
pull the plants? They are still young and I can save a lot of them if I have to
remove them, It kills me to kill these lil guys if they are too close.
Gardeners....Watcha think?

The distance between plants depends on the plant itself. Usually, the instructions will give the distance.

i have very limited space, so my plants are always too close together. usually you can transplant them without much trouble or stress, if you dig a BIG hole to get them out, so you don't damage theroots

If you need to transplant some of them, by all means. I agree, most come
with instructions. in case your plant instructons got misplaced, try going
to http://www.homedepotgardenclub.com/GardeningTools/PlantCareListing.aspx
for how to on plants. not that i'm promoting the Home Depot personally, but
i know it's one place you can find answers based on zip code or by plant.

Wake Up Your Immune System
By Mary Shaffer
As I learn more about how the body works, I'm reminded of the miracle of this creation. Scientists can produce life in the laboratory, but not without the genome from living tissue. Are they ever going to get it? They cannot create life — or so I think!

The lymphatic system is yet another amazing part of the body. It includes a network of conduits, glands and organs that carry a clear fluid called lymph. One of its many functions is to work alongside the immune system where the flow of lymph transports immune cells to stimulate an immune response. Swollen glands in the neck and bone marrow transplants as a treatment for cancer are examples of the lymphatic system at work. Lymph circulates from the neck to the feet, running down the arms to the back of the hands, down along the spine, and out to the armpits, groins and down the legs. Cells called lymphocytes transport nutrients to lymph nodes as well as aid in expelling toxins.
We can keep this system healthy by doing specific exercises to stimulate and supply it with oxygen. I've been doing these easy daily exercises for about a year, and when I get bored with repetition, I start a different exercise. With all of the exercises, do them at your own pace, let your body tell you how long to do them and at what intensity. Make yourself conscious of your breathing while exercising; this will enhance your awareness.

The simplest one is standing with feet comfortably apart and knees slightly bent. Bounce the core of your body with a quick, slight up and down motion. Let the head and neck relax and you'll feel the neck area jiggling. This short, quick bounce really works those glands in the neck and more subtly at the core of the body.

The more sophisticated version of this exercise is jumping on a trampoline. With the trampoline, the impact on the joints is minimal. Starting off slow gives you the feel of how gravity works your body. You can get creative with your steps on the trampoline: jump with both feet touching the equipment at the same time or alternate your legs like a run. Do this at the speed most comfortable for you. If you're coordinated, you can do a twist dance and let your hips turn one way and your arms the opposite. Have fun using music and see what your body likes.

Using a natural bristle brush, skin brushing has a wonderful communication with the lymph glands. This is something I do before a sauna and my tests show that I detoxify more because I perspire more. Always brush in a single direction towards the heart. Do not do a back and forth motion. Start at the bottom of the feet and brush upwards about three or four strokes in one area and work up covering a comfortable length of about twelve inches at a time. Finish the legs at the groin area and concentrate a good brushing there. When you finish the legs, do the same with the arms, starting at the hands. Then, go to the core of the body. Brush up from the hip area up to the heart level around the whole body. Then brush down from the neck to the heart area and finish with a thorough brushing of the armpits. This is a good "waker-upper!"

A direct quick massage at three lymph gland sites is another exercise that will get you moving. While standing, work one side of the groin at a time by pulling up over the inside top of the thigh with a brushing motion up to the hip. Use your right hand on the right groin, left hand on the left groin. Pull firmly up towards the hip. Push your opposite hip out in order to access the inside groin area. Do this with a quick rhythmic motion from 10 to 20 times each side. Next is the armpit. Raise one arm up along the ear with elbow bent back and briskly but firmly stroke up from just under your armpit towards the elbow for 10 to 20 times each side. The third area is the back of the neck. Alternate with both arms. With the arms raised along the ear and elbow bent back, reach with your hand to the middle of the spine to the lowest point you can go. Briskly stroke up into the back of your neck for ten strokes.

At the end of these exercises, finish off with a visualization exercise. Put your index and second finger together straight up front of you. Hold your ring and pinky finger down with your thumb. Place the tips of your fingers under your chin and imagine gold light going through those fingers to your throat and head. Relax.

As we've become more sedate and confined, the need for exercise increases. Exercise delivers oxygen to all the cells of the body and tones the tissues to freely circulate fluids. A healthy lymphatic system suppresses the start or spread of cancer and helps us fight infection better. Nutrition is important, too. Social connections also boost the immune system, but that's another topic.

DailyOM: Hovering around the Sun

DailyOM - Avoiding the Center
Today's DailyOM brought to you by:

May 11, 2011
Hovering around the Sun
Avoiding the Center
Quiet time each day is so important, but many are so out of practice that it’s
almost unnerving to be in stillness.

It’s funny to imagine our lives as something we spend a lot of time avoiding,
because it seems like that would be impossible to do. Our lives consist of
everything we engage in, from showering to sleeping, but also a lot of busy work
that distracts us and keeps us from looking at our lives. Experiencing our life
from the inside means taking time each day to simply be alone and quiet in the
presence of our soul. Many of us are so out of practice that it’s almost
unnerving to have a moment to ourselves. As a result, we may have stopped trying
to carve out that time to take a seat at the center of our lives.

One of the reasons it can be uncomfortable to sit with ourselves is because when
we do, we tend to open ourselves to an inner voice, which might question the way
we’re living or some of the choices we’re making. Sometimes the voice reminds us
of our secret, inner yearnings, dreams we thought we had forgotten. When we
already feel overwhelmed by our busy schedules, the idea of hearing this voice
can be exhausting. However, its reflections are the chords that connect us to
our authentic selves, and they are the very things that make our lives worth
living. When we continually avoid connecting with our life, we risk losing out
on the very purpose of our existence.

To begin the process of being more present and less absent in your life, you
might want to set aside just a few minutes each day to simply sit with yourself.
This doesn't mean watching a movie or reading a book, but taking time each day
for self-examination to avoid the avoidance, to be with yourself in an open way.
After a while, you may start to enjoy this part of the day so much that you make
less busy work for yourself, so that you can spend more time at the center of
your own life, rather than hovering like a planet around the sun.

Beauty

Beauty

Venus, rules beauty, so today is perfect for beginning new beauty rituals for
the hair, face, and neck. Think in terms of healthy skin and hair today, and
the beauty will follow. Use an herbal hair rinse, steeping dry or fresh herbs,
and then using the “tea” as a rinse after shampooing. Rosemary is good if you
have brown hair; chamomile if blonde; juniper if you have gray hair, and
hibiscus if you have red.

Rose is Venus’ scent. Have someone give you a neck massage with rose-scented
oil; wear rose perfume today and buy some rose water and glycerin hand lotion.
Ask a beauty expert at a department store for the best skin care for your
particular complexion. Get a free make-up demonstration while you’re there.
Keep using rose-scented products whenever possible and Venus will smile on you,
increasing your beauty and positive outlook. Over the next lunar month, expect
compliments!

Horace

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed May 11, 2011 8:23 pm (PDT)

The snow has melted and now grass is greening in meadows,
the leaves are greening the branches.
Earth's cycle continues, the spring rush has passed
through the rivers
and now the nymphs join the dance
of their sweet sister Venus, the greatest of Graces,
whose beauty we see most nakedly now.
Delight is never eternal, the hours tell us, and the years,
as they sweetly rush away.
The west wind warms our shoulders, spring will soon
surrender to summer, and in its turn
will be ruined by autumn with its prodigal harvest,
and then stiff winter again.
The moon changes too, so swiftly, but as swiftly
it is renewed. And we, too, are but slaves to time.
Soon, soon, we will be gone,
gone into dust and shadow.
~Horace

The dance of life rushes through us at all times of the year, but in the
spring and summer it seems more urgent, more vibrant - more naked, as Horace
says. How easy it is to pretend, in such times, that the cycle will end, that
life will continue always at such a high and splendid note.

But life is not like that. Ancient wisdom reminds us that the beauties of the
flowering season are but preparation for the harvest, just as the rigors of
winter are necessary for the eventual flourishing of another springtime. It
need not destroy our joy in such beauteous, bountiful present to remember that
such good things will end. Holding such awareness, in the face of the naked
beauty of life's springtime, makes that beauty all the more poignant and
meaningful. Carpe diem, the Romans said: Seize the day. Living in the present
is more likely if we realize how brief its momentary beauties really are.

Goddess of The Day: DAMARA

Posted by: "Cher Chirichello" CHIC0411@YAHOO.COM   chic0411

Wed May 11, 2011 8:29 pm (PDT)

Goddess of The Day: DAMARA
Garland Day (England)

Themes: Fertility; Health; Luck; Kindness; Abundance

Symbols: Flowers; Green Items

About Damara: Throughout England, Damara is celebrated as being intimately
connected with May and its abundant fertility for the fields, herds, and home.
Through this productive energy, Damara brings well-being and improved fortune
throughout the month.

To Do Today: Children believe that Bringing in the May also conveys Damara's
blessings. To try this, make small floral garlands or bouquets with ribbons and
leave them anonymously on doorsteps, especially at the homes of people who have
given much to the community or to you. By doing so, you return some of that
person's positive energy and lay Damara's health and luck at their feet.

This activity also opens the fishing season in England, where the garlands get
cast into boats to bring a good harvest there, too! So, leave a flower anywhere
you need improved abundance--in your wallet, in the pantry, at the office for
abundant energy, or close to your heart for abundant love.

Finally, bring a bundle of fresh flowers into your living space today to attract
Damara's healthy energy. Gardenias, roses, violets, geraniums, or tansies are
all excellent choices, being metaphysically associated with vitality.)0(

Lost Luggage Spell

Lost Luggage Spell

Ruled by Mercury, Wednesday concerns matters of business and travel. Here is a
spell to keep your luggage from getting lost in transit. You need two silver
candles and a length of black ribbon. You also

need one of those “Best Friends” or “Be Mine” pendants that breaks apart into
two halves, though make sure it starts as one piece. Name one candle for
yourself, the other for your luggage, lighting each as you do so.

Carefully loop the ribbon around both and knot it, saying:

Mine to me,
Me to mine,
Like this ribbon so entwine.
Me to mine,
Mine to me,
As I will, so mote it be!

Touch the pendant to the candles. Snap it in half and attach one half to your
luggage, carrying the other half with you. Leave the bound candles on your
altar until you return home from your next trip.

Harness the energies of the Scorpio Full Moon
The Scorpio Full Moon occurs this year on Tuesday May 17, 2011 @ 7:08 am (EDT).
This is the perfect time to connect to your higher self and the collective
consciousness.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign and rules over the 8th house, the home of Pluto
and the Occult. Scorpio energy is deep and very Psychic, this full moon is a
great time to connect to your own psychic awareness (3rd eye), your higher
conscious and the collective conscious (the Ancient Ones).

Scorpio Full Moon Spell - to develop Psychic Awareness
As Scorpio is a water sign, there is water involved with this spell.
Prior to setting your sacred space this spell asks you to bathe in Divination
bath salts to clear you and ready you for your magickal working. Some folks may
even decide to do the entire ritual from their tub and that's OK too. If you do
not have a bathtub you can use the salts in a wash-cloth in the shower. Be sure
to clear your heart center, your 3rd eye and your palm charkas.

You're going to need the following:
Awareness Shop Handcrafted Scented Votive
3 Amethyst Crystals
A pack of Awareness Shop Divination Bath Salts
An Awareness Shop Psychic Power Mojo
A Stick of Om Nag Champa Incense
You'll also need a pen or pencil and a small piece of paper on which to write
We offer a complete kit of all the items you need for this spell for just $13

Full Moon (in Scorpio) Circle

with Priestess Maeve & Priest Jack-In-The-Forest

Scorpio's psychic-emotional power is both feared and respected. The Scorpio full
moon is a good time to shed light on anything that is untrue and to face demons
and to walk through fear. It's a rich time for insights that guide you away from
extremes and obsessions and toward more stability. We will work with the energy
of this full moon to transform negativity into pure energy. Aries in Jupiter
will bring success to our Magick. We will also create a magickal power word on
the Astral plane to be used in our magick.

During this gathering, we will call in the quarters, cast the circle, invoke
Diety, perform a work of magick, share during talking stick, celebrate with
cakes/ale and raise energy through song & dance. Our magick will focus on
transformation using the energy of the Scorpio Full Moon, which is ruled by
Pluto.

Space is limited! Call now to reserve your place!

**Maeve & Jack-In-The-Forest are initiated Priestess & Priest who have been
involved in the Pagan & Wiccan tradition for over 15 years. For the last several
years, they have been leading, conducting & creating public rituals in the New
Paltz area. Their Full Moon Circles are not only sacred Rites which honor the
God & Goddess, but also forums for learning more about honoring Deity through
ritual. They regard their Circles as teaching Circles which provide information
& education about Ritual and format and they are now bringing their Full Moon
